CHAPTER TWELVE: THE BALL 5
After those words left his mouth, I quickly use my hands to clean my face and then clear my throat, I need to cease crying, I can’t let all that he say get to me ” I will sleep in the dining hall”
” Jing”
” Good night milord “Getting up from the bed, I did expect him to stop me but he didn’t, he watched me as I lift the pillow, mantle, and off the bed, giving him one more stare, I frown and then turn around.
Getting out of his chamber, and walking in the dark hallway did tangle with some nerves in my body, it’s frightening but then, am glad no one is here to watch the queen moving towards the dining hall to sleep, as early as possible…..I will leave here and work properly on this stupid rumor.
I stop midway and open the door, I never thought existed, I mean who builds a door in the middle of the hallway, no body will notice it in day time.
getting in, I shut the door and lit the lamp that was sitting on the table, staring at different paintings on the wall….lord Muchen paints?
The room is small, with a little bed at the corner, a chair, a table, and a painting brush ” This should do “Moving towards the bed, I lay down on it, cover my body with the blanket and stare at the ceiling.
I do think I deserve better things, “sometimes I think I should just run away from the palace, grab a few clothes and just go away, live a normal life, maybe fall in love with someone else, am aware of how pretty I am. and here I am obsessing over someone who doesn’t care if I sleep in the dining chamber or not ” mumbling, I breathe out ” I just want to stop crying, I want to stop myself from wishing to touch him, to kiss him, to cuddle or even make love” noticing that sleep eludes me, I sit up and fold my hands, staring at the walls.
” I think you hate him ”
” Of course, I hate him, who won’t hate a……” stopped talking when I realized that the room was empty when I came in, I was the only one in this painting room a few seconds back, so who just talked to me?
” You were saying?” Listening to the voice, I quickly turn to my left and stare and stare at Muchen who is leaning on the wall, when did he get in?
” What are you doing here ”
” For your information, I checked the dining hall and you weren’t there ” he frown “Did your mother not teach you manners, you can’t enter a room without permission”
” Is this your room?” Getting up, I fold my hands “What do you want precisely”
” Sleep, I need to sleep wife ” I frown at the use of the word ‘ wife’ “You sleeping somewhere else in my quarters isn’t helping ” he move closer ” God forbid some maid to catch sight of you, my reputation will be stained”
” Stained” I frown ” after ruining mine ”
” I do not have the strength to battle with words ” grabbing my blanket and pillow with his left hand, his right hold mine “Come”
” I do not feel like sharing the bed with you ”
” You were jumping with joy earlier ”
” Why are you moving around, only with underwear ”
” Because my queen happens to be the stubborn one ” his queen, not his wife anymore….this man is just not readable. “Here is an unpopular opinion” We step into the room, and he shut the door and looks at me “Just shut up and sleep ” his jaw clenched as he throw the blanket and pillow on the bed “Now sleep ”
” How am I supposed to sleep with such an attitude from you ”
” Why do you care so much about what I do ” frown evident on his face “Now go to bed “Averting my gaze from him, I lay down on the bed and close my eyes, hoping sleep will come faster, the bed sink a little to my right, notifying me that he is laying down ” one more thing Jing ” he mumbles” don’t think of running from me ” his words cold ” I will catch you ”
My cheeks heat up.
I know he didn’t mean it romantically but it also means that he doesn’t want me far from him ” and I will pretend I didn’t hear that ”
” Jing ”
” Good night lord …..” Before I could complete my sentence, he turn me around so fast that I have no idea how he did it, my face was one inch away from his, he look really angry, his face finally has an expression, and his hands were placed on my waist as he pulls me closer. My heartbeat just increased.
” Jing ” his eyes are cold ” you better not be thinking of running from me, I will do as I please with you but you will have to endure it ”
This time, I frown “Endure it? What am I? ” I slap his hands from my waist “Your toy?”
” Toy is not the word” he smiles ” rather a food ”
” Food?”
” I like your blood Jing ” I blink at his words, what does he mean like my blood, is he hung up on a vampire story?
” You’re sick ” Faking a laugh, I stop midway when I notice how serious he looks “You’re joking right?”
” Indeed ” the smile still on his face ” I wanted to see your reaction “Shaking my head at his words, I turn around, and before I could pray for sleep to take me…..I was gone faster than I thought.
A good night’s rest couldn’t find me, I just couldn’t close my eyes due to her blood, just the smell of it even intoxicates me but drinking from her again might be vital.
I stayed awake and watched as the sun rise while she sleep calmly, her body literally laying on mine, my first thought was to push her away but I love her scent, the blood just made her look even more delicious to feed on.
One leg is placed between mine and her head rests peacefully on my chest, I look down at her, long dark hair scattered on my skin, her lips touching my nipple, eyes closed. My eyes lowered to the way her garment moved high, showing me her thigh.
Am guessing, she will have smooth skin, very smooth.
Relaxing back on the bed, I swallow, I should make her eat a lot of veggies during this ball, if I don’t…I won’t be able to feed on her anytime soon.
Her sudden movements made me look down to catch her slowly opening her eyes, she looked shocked, her eyes move from my chest to my face and then they widen, she swallowed hard and I could hear her heartbeat increase.
Others will quickly withdraw but it looks as if she is paralyzed ” Jing ” I mumble” Get off me ”
” Am sorry ” her cheek redden as she withdraw ” I didn’t mean to, do all that ” she demonstrated with her hands “Sorry”
” Hmmm” I sit up “Come here, ” I notice how her eyes widen the moment I separate my hands, indicating she move closer.
” Lord Muchen ”
” I need you to come closer Jing ” She furrow her brows, probably thinking am up to something but did what I ask anyway.
The moment she wraps her hands around my body, the door opens revealing Queen Mona. Just like I anticipated.
” Lord Muchen” Queen Mona gasped and I smile inwardly, I will like to see if she will try fighting back, maybe try kicking Jing out of the picture…I believe this Mona of a person is not what she seems.
” Milady ” I let go of Jing and then notice how angry Mona looks, now that face is something I haven’t seen before.
” How interesting” I smile.
” how shameful can you be queen jing!” Mona growled “That is the father of my child”
” excuse me?” jing felt triggered by that “What do you mean shameful?”
” Mona, get out ” I growl, her gaze move to mine, she is surprised and hurt “Leave” No other word left her mouth, as she quickly dash out of the room. My gaze moves to Jing ” leave my presence”
” No, I will do that, when I want to “Of course, trust Jing to be always stubborn. I frown at that her next words ” here’s an unpopular opinion, you don’t order me around ” and then she Left, I couldn’t help but to smile.
She look so good when she’s feisty. Definitely someone that an entertain my boredom for awhile.

CHAPTER THIRTEEN: THE BALL 6 ( THE TAILOR 1)
” Milady ” Fang rushes in my direction, looking worried ” I didn’t expect you to return this early ” nodding to her words, I look at the mirror.
” How is the preparation of the ball going ”
” Quite splendid milady ” she mumbled “We have another problem ”
” Aside ju-li case?” She nods and I frown “What is it?”
” I heard the queen mother maids talking about your impeachment ”
” Impeachment?” I frown “The king’s mother is trying to kick me out?”
” Yes milady “Clenching my hands, I stare at my reflection in the mirror ” Fang, I want you to inform the other queen’s maids that I am no longer supporting Queen Mona ” Fang looks at me surprised” In fact, I desire for her to have a miscarriage ”
” How do we plan all that?”
” I need you to invite Queen Mona’s physician to this ball, telling him we wish to show our appreciation, make sure your face is completely covered and pretend to be queen li-cha’s maid ” Looking at Fang, I pull her closer then whisper exactly what I expect her to do ” can you find them ”
” Yes milady, I will begin that immediately” She lifts her head to move out but then stop “What about the rumor concerning ju-li?”
” Worry not fang ” I smile ” I will deal with that tonight ” With that fang left me all alone in my chamber. This morning I did leave lord Muchen’s quarters when the maids were outside which will make everything about Ju-li seem like just a stupid rumor.
Taking off the flowers from my hair, I look at my reflection with a kind smile, I should love myself if nobody will. My chamber door opens and I look left, the queen mother walks in, it’s the first time she visits my quarters.
standing up out of respect and bowing my head ” your highness, you should have informed me of your visit”
” I remember summoning you to my quarters yesterday”
” Yes, your highness” I look at her ” but lord Muchen ask to spend a night with me and I can’t throw off such offers, just as you heard. Am pregnant ” She didn’t look surprised.
” That’s why I have brought a physician with me to check you properly” My eyes widen at that ” he is right outside your chamber ”
” Is that necessary” I force a smile out “Do you have so much distrust in me?”
” This is about the royal family ” she sit gently on the mat “These things must be handled with care ”
” I refused to be examined, your highness”
” I will take that as lies Queen Jing ” She frowns “Are you pretending to be pregnant ”
” No your highness” I look at her with a smile ” I had a plan that after the ball, I will do this when the king and his mother are together
” It will be difficult to believe this child belongs to the king, after your affairs with lord ju-li ”
” Your Highness” I bend down ” You have to believe me, I have nothing to do with lord ju-li, this child belongs only to lord Muchen and he is aware of it ”
” That should be true” I look at her “Immediately after the birth of the child, we will perform tests to find out the father of the child ” With that she stands to her feet ” After this ball, we will deal with this pregnancy and affair news ” I watch her leave my chambers and then I fall on the bed.
How do I clear all these trials on my part? How can I do all this successfully “Milady” Fang walked in with the dress I had asked the tailor to design for the ball “You look stressed milady ”
” I will need you for another job fang “Standing up, I grab the dress and frown down at it “This is completely something else, I asked for a white dress, didn’t I?”
” Oh yes milady, I forgot about it ”
” Forget about this, I will handle it myself but right now ” I pull her close ” I need you to go to my physician’s quarters “Placing a letter in her hands I mumble “Give this to him and then return ”
” Excuse me my queen ” she bow her head and hurry out of my chamber, I move close to my closet and grab a large garment to cover my body, stepping out of my quarters, I only selected five maids to accompany me, into the carriage and to the tailor workshop in the village.
And yes, I should have asked maids to get the job done but since I still have enough time before the ball, I decided a little fresh air will do me some good, looking outside the window, I stare at how the average person lives, it must be stressful and hard for the poor but they are smiling.
I should hold a charity day for them, prepare food, and share, that will give them some joy at least but then I do envy them, they don’t have to fight to keep their position every day.
Am sure they envy me too, I don’t stress eating in a day, what a world we live in. Closing my eyes, I allow myself to receive the cold air and wind on my face, so calm and chilling.
” Your Highness, we are here “Hearing that from the couch man, I get off the carriage and so did my maids from the next carriage, they fasten their steps to keep up with me.
I stare at his shop and wondered why it is built in such a lonely area, far from the village and a little deep in the forest.
” Your Highness” the middle age man, bow his head the moment I step in “What do I owe this visit ”
” You are getting old ” I frown ” I remember demanding a red dress ” he lifts his head and stares at the dress in my hands.
” Forgive me my queen ” he bend down and bow ” That was reckless of me, I am truly sorry ”
” This isn’t something to condemn yourself over, as long as you have my dress, all is well ”
” Of course, my queen, this way ” he smile when he stand up, pointing to the next room, I asked my maid to wait behind me as I walk into the room, different colors of dress hung and they all look amazing.
” You are truly a great tailor ” I mumble “How come the nobles don’t come here often, ” I asked but receive no reply, frowning, I turn around, and nobody is there “Hello” I mumble but no reply? What’s going on
” Your Highness” hearing that voice made me calm a little “Forgive me but I have been starved, I will finish off with your maids and then get to you ”
” Starved?” I look around “What do you mean by that?” I look around but no reply, clothes everywhere, and the door I came in seem to have vanished. This has to be a joke, is this why his shop is located in the woods?
Have I grown stupid in days, I must have found this fishy. Fang won’t set me up to die, she might not have heard of this pace either.
After minutes of silence, all I heard next was screams coming from the next room, cries, pleas, laughter, and then screams.
I clenched my hands together ” I have to get out of her ” I mumble to myself, scared to death ” But how?” Looking around, I start moving, trying my best to get out of here
” Where are you sprinting off to, your brains taste delicious ” I heard the man’s voice, the maids must be struggling hard to survive but I can’t just die here, I have no talent in physical battles.
If I rely on that, I know I will die a miserable death, I just need to know why he chooses to eat humans and not food, they are also no point in talking to him, it won’t work, I have to think of something else.
” Your Highness” his voice unexpectedly sounds close, which means he is coming for me, I quickly tear my dress to make it shorter with the razor blades I found on the table “Don’t run away, I don’t plan on killing you today, maybe tomorrow” his words haunt me, am scared ” found you ” someone touch my shoulder and I quickly step back and turn around, ready to see a middle-aged man but instead.
He is young, tall, and manly but his eyes, but he has four eyes “You’re not human ” I gasp and he chuckles.
” Bingo ” was his next phrase.
