HOSPITAL PARKING LOT

They both turn only to see an unknown man watching the both of them.

He was dressed in a black tattered trouser and ugly looking shirt and what’s worse, he had his body decorated with tattoos.

He looked dangerous and Chloe knew that people like them are only trying to stir up trouble, she was about telling Bryan to ignore him but she was too late.

“Why don’t you mind your business and f**k off ” Bryan said while the tattoo guy Snicker in return.

“Is that a way to talk to some one older than you?” The tattoo guy asked.

“What other way do you want me to talk, can’t you see we are having a discussion here? Shouldn’t you mind your darn business!” Bryan replied angering him.

“Hey, you will worsen things. So just shut….”

“Have heard that M&M students are all spoilt kids but have never come across one but today I have and you’ve shown me that what people say are true, so you won’t mind if I teach you a little bit lesson ” the tattoo guy said which got Chloe scared.

“And what are you going to do? What do you intend to do all alone!” Bryan asked provoking him further.

Just then a van arrived just a few distance away and four men got out of it, all having tattoo with the guy in front of them.

“What do you think? Am I still alone?” He asked which got Bryan gulping down his spit.

“I told you to shut up” Chloe murmured to Bryan who was now moving back bit by bit.

“You should have done it sooner but it’s late now and if you love your self then I suggest you run! ” he said even as he turned to leave.

“Bryan, I can’t run! ” she said reminding him of her injured foot.

She thought he was gonna leave her but he surprised her by coming back and crouching in front of her, he pulled her on his back.

Chloe held onto his neck while also wrapping her legs around him before he began running with her on his back while the tattoo men followed suit.

He kept running until they got to a building where he deftly hid them both out of sight and when he was sure the tattoo men were gone, he finally let her down.

“We could have avoided them you know” she said as they slowly made their way back to the parking lot where luckily the men were no where to be seen.

“People like those men tend to act strong if they are in group, if he was alone, I could have face him” Bryan replied which got her starring at him.

“I doubt that, you were a sissy back there” Chloe replied.

“Whatever” he said getting on his bike.

“So you are giving me your word that you won’t say a thing ?” She asked and he paused on wearing his helmet to stare at her.

“Still on that?”

“Yes. Like I said it’s important to me and…..”

“Are you doing this for the money? Cause am sure you can’t be doing this without getting any thing in return” he said which made her angry.

“You jerk! Money might be every thing to you rich kids but it isn’t to some people. I meant what I said and even if you don’t help me, I will still keep on pretending to be her!” She yelled at him before turning to leave.

Bryan let out a sigh noticing that she was still limping on her injured leg, if she keeps on limping on it then it will get worse.

“Let me give you a lift home” he offered even before he could stop him self.

“No! I would rather take the bus than to accept your offer” she yelled again and continued her journey.

Bryan got off his bike and went to her lifting the startled Chloe in his arms bridal style.

“What are you doing!” She yelled at him.

“I don’t want to have your death on my conscience ” he replied heading back to his bike.

Unknown to them both, Leo stood some distance away watching the both of them.

VALERIE’S HOME

Bryan stopped his bike in front of Valerie’s home and as gently as she could, she got off, pulling her helmet off.

“Here and thanks” she said off handedly still angry at his insinuations from earlier.

“Are you expecting him?” Bryan asked in return.

“Who?”

“Leo, that’s his car” Bryan said starring at a black and white Mercedes.

“Am not expecting him and I don’t think he’s here to see me but Stephanie. Good bye” she replied going in.

Bryan didn’t know why but he had a weird feeling about Leo being around but it’s none of his business,he shrug it off before starting his bike.

Chloe got in only for a maid to approach her.

“Is Carmen back?” Chloe asked.

“She’s not and besides your fiance is here” the maid replied.

“Isn’t he with Stephanie?” Chloe asked.

“Miss Stephanie left the house before he arrived”

“That’s strange, Why is he still here then?” She murmured to herself.

“He’s waiting in your room though I told him you wouldn’t like it but he insisted saying he is your fiance” the maid informed and that got her rushing up the stairs even though her foot hurt.

She got to her room only to see Leo starring at Valerie’s picture.

“What are you doing here!” She yelled at him shutting the door.

“I came to see you” he replied.

“I don’t think we have anything to talk about, so I suggest you get out of my room. Stephanie’s room is just two doors away” she added the last part to spite him.

“In the past you would have given any thing to have me in the same room with you but that’s not the case now” taking his eyes off the picture, Leo turned his gaze on her.

“Am glad you know and so it’s best if you leave……”

“What’s going on between you and Bryan?” He asked cutting her off.

“Do you tell me what goes on between you and Stephanie?” She asked in return, folding her arms on her chest.

“I think have been going too easy on you ever since you returned” he said walking towards her with an angry look on his face.

He trapped her against the wall with him towering over her.

“Am not scared of you!” Chloe said bravely.

“I know. I know the new you doesn’t get scared like before and so have been wondering what I can do to instill that fear in you again and I came to one conclusion ” he said even as his hand move to her throat.

“Squeezing the life out of you won’t instill that fear but this might” taking hold of the front of her uniform, he pulled it apart destroying the button while revealing Chloe’s b**bs which were encased in a bra to his gaze.

“What are you doing!” She yelled pulling her shirt over her body while she fought him off.

“Instilling that fear in you” he replied pulling her towards him to kiss her but Chloe managed to push him away.

She ran towards the door wanting to escape but he caught up with her pulling her by the waist.

“Let me go Leo! Let go of me” she yelled even as he walk her to the bed and push her on it.

“I won’t be made a fool of, neither you or my brother will succeed in doing that” he said pulling her to him when she tried to move away.

“Let me go, Leo. Am going to scream!” Chloe said feeling very scared of losing her Innocence this way.

“Scream all you want, no one will come to your aid cause am your fiance after all” he said kissing her exposed throat while trying to pry her hands off her torn shirt so he could explore her b**bs.

“Stop it Leo!” She yelled feeling tears slip out her eyes.

“Get away from her!” A voice she recognize so well, a voice she felt very grateful for at that moment said even as Leo was pulled away from her.

“Get lost! This is none of your business” Leo said and when Bryan saw Chloe crying, he lost it and punched Leo on the face which got him staggering and falling on the floor.

“You bastard! She doesn’t want it” Bryan said to him before going to Chloe to pull her out of the room.

GYM

Chloe stood in front of the large window crying her eyes out while Bryan kept watching her.

She’s been crying ever since he pulled her out of her room and no matter how hard she tried to stop, she just couldn’t.

“You could have avoided this” he said which got her turning to stare at him.

“How?” She asked rubbing at her wet eyes.

“By stopping this pretence. He wouldn’t have done that if he knew you aren’t the real Valerie” Bryan told her.

“So you are saying that he does this to Valerie?”

“How would I know, I was never close to her” Bryan replied while she looked away.

“That jerk! He just caught me off guard. If I had known what he was going to do, I would have punched that ugly face of his and…..”

“You are still going to go ahead with this pretence?” Bryan asked cutting her off.

“I told you that it’s important to me” she replied in return while he let out a sigh of frustration.

“Will my keeping shut help or make things worse” he asked again.

“It will help. It will help me and Valerie ” Chloe answered.

“Fine then! Am going to pretend that I know nothing until the sports festival ends. If you fail to win the Marathon like you’ve said, I won’t be pretending then” he said suddenly which got a smile on her face.

“Thank you Bryan!” She said in excitement.

“Don’t thank me now, you might end up losing cause running six miles around M&M academy is not easy and with that leg of yours, I doubt if you will make it” he told her.

“Don’t go back to the house until you hear him leave, I might not be around to save you the next time” he added before leaving the gym making Chloe think of him as the most generous person on earth….

THREE DAYS LATER ~ SPORTS FESTIVAL

“Finally it’s the sport D-day” Pearl said in excitement even as she, Chloe and Judy were dressed in a blue polo while Mira was dressed in a red polo symbolizing their team colour.

“I just wanna end this as soon as possible” Mira muttered.

“Why? Do you have a date to attend?” Chloe asked.

“I don’t but you do know that am in Leo’s team and it’s annoying being given orders by Stephanie” Mira replied while Chloe wrap her arms around her shoulder in sympathy.

“What’s your plan for today’s beauty contest?” Pearl asked Judy who was silent.

“To be sincere am not sure” Judy replied.

“You should be sure cause Stephanie will be the queen of our team, you’ve got to beat that witch” Mira said as they got to the hall where team Alpha will be gathered.

“See you guys later” Mira said waving them off while the three went into the hall to join the others.

“We all know that which ever team wins get to recieve a reward, so we’ve got to do our best to get that reward and bring victory to our team” Lucas said addressing every one.

“The marathon will earn us lots of points, so those participating should endeavour to try their best, we will be counting on you” Luke added which got Chloe staring at her foot which was currently encase in a white sneakers.

Truth is that she can walk properly with her leg but if she tries to do any other thing it hurts but that won’t deter her.

Winning today will determine if Bryan will help her, she thought as she look up only to see him watching her from the front row.

Everyone began to disperse and they were about doing the same when Lucas, Luke, David and Bryan approached them.

“Are you girls ready for today competition?” David asked winking at Pearl who blushed in return.

“We are” Pearl replied eagerly.

“So Pearl will be participating in the three legged race while Valerie participates in the marathon and Judy you will be joining the 100m race and also you will be participating in the queen contest” Lucas said reading out the info from a book.

“Queen contest! I thought you would have quit that already. Just sign her name up for the race, she’s not going to do well in the beauty contest” Luke told Lucas while laughing at Judy who hands were clenched in anger.

“Don’t you dare remove my name Lucas. I will participate in the race and also in the beauty contest” Judy said now moving towards Luke.

“And I will make sure to win the contest, everyone’s jaw will drop when I show up, most especially you!” She said the last part to Luke.
