ANDREA POV
I got into the house only to see my mother in the kitchen.
She had a worried on her face and though she tired to mask it by giving me a smile,I know that she couldn’t do it.
“Hello Mom”I greeted
“How is work today?”she asked
“Work was kind of great”I said softly
“I heard from Mary that you met Jack again”she said as I sat on the empty chair beside her
“Yes I did”
“And?”
“And nothing, we went out for dinner and talked of old times,do you know that he has a son too?”I said
“A son?”
“Well not that the boy his is biological child, he adopted the kid “I said
“That’s so nice of him and speaking of kids, Mary has been feeling down,she hasn’t come out of her room,ever since she came back”My mom said and I sighed softly
“Why don’t you just tell her the truth, be honest with her and tell her why you don’t want her to dance”She said
“I doubt if Mary would under stand me “I said
“That’s the excuse you have been given ever since Mary could speak,I think you should talk to her, tell her why you don’t want her to dance, she will understand” she said
“Are you sure? Would it be right for me to tell her about her dad”I asked
“Do you think that because she keeps quiet, she isn’t interested in knowing who her father is?” She asked
“I would also want to know “I muttered in agreement
“Go now Andrea, go and make it up with your daughter”She said and slowly I stood up and went up stairs.
I got to Mary and knocked and when there was no response I walked into the room and found her sitting on the floor watching a dance video on her laptop.
I went towards her and sat down on the floor beside her
“I don’t want to fight with you mom, so please leave”she said
“But I want to talk to you”I said softly and she turned off the lap top
“Do you like dancing that much?”I asked
“Yes I do, do you even have to ask?”she said
“Why do you even hate dancing, Grand ma told me once that you like dancing”she asked quickly
“Yes I did, I once did but every thing change when I met your father”I said
“Are you going to tell me about him now?”she asked and I nodded.
JACK POV
I stood by the balcony of my pent house still thinking about today event.
I never thought that going to today audition will lead me to see Andrea again
Aging made her more pretty, I thought as I kept thinking about her.
“Is that mystery lady the reason why you are smiling dad?” James asked as he walked towards me
“How did you get in and what are you doing here?”I asked as I ruffled his hair
“Stop that dad! Am a grown up now”he said
“Well you can never be a grown to me”I said
“Well I have your keys, Remember you gave it to me to get away from my crazy fans and also I came here to ask about the girl you asked me to take home earlier”he said
“Who? Mary! What do you want to know about her?”I asked
“Who is she and who was that lady with you?” He asked
“She is Andrea, Andrea Blake”I said
“What category does she fit in, your ex,your mistress or just a friend,I doubt if she will just be a friend”James said
“She was my first love and still is” I said
“Oh no! Your first what? Don’t tell me that the great Jack Cruise had been Inlove once”
“Stop messing with me”I said and he laughed
“Fine then, tell me, you said she is your first love, why did you break up with her in the past?”
“I never broke up with her”
“Then you two lost contact right?”
“No, I never dated her then”
“What?”
“You see she was Inlove with some one else,I was just a friend to her “I said softly
“You must have been heart broken?”
“I was and when I thought that there was a chance,that I could make her love me, she just left with out a word. For the past sixteen years am just seeing her again”I said
“Is she married or what?”
“She is a single mother ”
“So that means Mary doesn’t have a father”James asked
“Yeah, Andrea have been both her father and mother for the past sixteen years”
“Maybe that is why she is so cool”James said suddenly
“Who are you talking about?”
“Am talking about Mary, you know she intrigues me and I will like to know more about her”he said
” Don’t go messing around with Mary, am thinking of getting back with her mom”I said
“Am not messing around with her, I mean it this time dad, she treated me differently you know, I think I like her, how about we woo them both together?”
“Forget it James, I don’t trust you and so stay away from Mary”
“But dad!”
“Have you been accepted at Jupiter high, you need to continue your schooling”I said changing the topic.
“Why do I have to finish school, other idols like myself aren’t doing that dad”
“When you can’t rely on music,you need some thing to fall back on and so get your self enrolled or I would be force to interfere and you wouldn’t like it”I said
“Fine then,I will do as you say, you love ruining my mood, am off to my flat”he said as he left the room.
I was heading to the bath room when I got a call
📱”Hello Jenny”
📱”It’s just that I forgot to tell you some thing “my secretary said quickly
📱”Are you calling to tell me that I have more schedules to meet up with?”I asked
📱”Well some thing like that”she replied
📱”Then shoot, it’s my punishment for missing work today”I said
📱”Well the receptionist told me that some one was asking of you earlier”
📱”Who?”
📱”He said his name is Max Winston, he said if we told you his name you will surely know who it is”
📱”Max! Did she see him or did he call?”I asked wanting to confirm if it was him
📱”According to her, he was here accompanied with his wife,a certain Rose”She said
It’s him, its surely him but why! Why did he come back,I thought
📱”What should we do sir,He said he wants to speak to you and that he will be coming tomorrow to see you” she said
📱”Free up an hour of my schedule and tell him to meet me at that time”I said
📱”Okay sir, good night”she said and i cut the call.
Why the hell is Max back and why does he want to see me.
Andrea never told him about his child but am sure that if he knows the truth,he will want to be with Mary and that alone will hinder my plan of getting close to Andrea.
I will have to talk to him tomorrow and keep him from seeing Andrea.
ANDREA POV
“He did all that?”Mary asked as I ended the story
“Yes he did, I never wanted you to know but you had to know about it some day”
“Do you want to know what his name is?”I added when she kept quiet
“I don’t want to, if he could leave you with out bothering to come back then i also don’t want to know about him, I would have preferred being in the dark” she said and I hugged her
“Are you sure that you don’t want to know”
“He hurt you mom and if any one hurt you, they hurt me too and people who hurt me,I discard them and so he is discarded already, don’t think about it again mom”she said comforting me
“Mother was right, you are now a grown up”I said
“Did you just know that”she replied giving me a smile.
“You can do the dancing if you want, I won’t stop you again”I said
“Really Mom?”she asked
“Yes and also if you want to enrol for your senior high, you can do that at Jupiter high, I know that you want to go there but you just couldn’t tell me about it”
“Oh mom you are the best!I love you so much”she said hugging me tight and I hugged her back
I do hope that am making the right decision, I thought as she kept showering me with k-sses.

ANDREA POV
When had gone to sleep,I came back to my room and feeling like a big load have been put out of my chest, I breathe out a sigh.
I thought Mary would blame for me not ever telling her father of her existence but she was under standing, she was even upset but some how I do feel bad about it, she not wanting to see her dad makes me feel sad but I can’t do a thing about that.
Max left me and he never came back,he had even began a new life with Rose.
“I don’t want to think about this! I don’t want to think about it!”I said aloud but some how I found myself remembering what happened sixteen years ago
SIXTEEN YEARS BACK
(A month after Max left)
I woke up with a start only to find my self in the infirmary.
Why am I here? Just a while ago I was heading to the cafeteria with Jack ,Brenda and Beatrice.
What had happened? I thought and just then I remembered that I had fainted.
“Are you finally awake?”the infirmary doctor asked as she walked into the room.
“What happened to me ?”I asked
“Did you perhaps have s€× with out using protection?”She asked suddenly and i flushed a bit feeling shy.
“Yes I did!”
“You shouldn’t have done that? I know that your hormones get the best of you when you are having s€× but you should have known better than that”she said
“What’s wrong doctor?”
“You are pregnant! Two weeks to be precise”she said
“But that can’t be! I can’t be pregnant”
“Why did you think you fainted out side, why do you think you have been feeling dizzy and sleeping a lot, you have also been vomiting too,you are pregnant my dear”she said
“But I can’t! I can’t be! What can I do doctor ?”I asked
“The only thing you can do is to have that child and tell who ever is responsible that he is going to be a father!”she said and went back to her office.
I was granted a sick leave and I went back home, thinking about the child in me and also about Max who left recently.
I got home and went to bed, I stayed like that thinking of the child in me and how I will take care of it
I dialled Max number but he didn’t pick, I texted him with a ‘we need to talk ,reply me as soon as you see this?’ but for the three days that I stayed home , he never replied and neither did he call me.
I was laying on the bed as usual and my mom having been fed up by my attitude for the past three days walked in
“This is the third day Andrea and you are still not going to go to school, just what are you doing ?”she asked
“Am still feeling sick”I said giving her the same excuse again
“Sick with what? You have been telling me that you are sick and yet you never tell me ………wait a minute”she said and walked towards me
She pulled me up and stared at me properly and then she put my hand down and gasp out loud
“My God Andrea! You are pregnant?”she said and slowly I began to cry
“I didn’t want you to find out this way, am sorry mom”I said as I tried to hold her but she pushed me away
“How could you have gone far with that boy, I told you to be careful and yet you chose to do what you want, now look at where that cost you, I didn’t want you to be like me,that is why I warned you off him and now you are pregnant while he is gone “she yelled at me
“Am sorry mom?”I said
“Sorry wouldn’t fix this, you are pregnant and so the father must do his job”she said and before I could do a thing, she pulled me out and with out knocking, she barged into the study.
He was talking to some one on his lap top but when he saw us he told the person to hold on
“Why are you here? Have you come to resign !”he asked
“I didn’t come for that, I actually came to see you”my mom said
“For what?”
“My daughter happens to be pregnant and your son is the father”she said
“You must be joking right?”he said
“We aren’t ! My daughter is pregnant for Max and so he should come back and take responsibility”
“You must be crazy right? What makes you think Max is the father? You daughter might have slept around just as she did with my son”
“I never did that! Max is the only one have ever given my self to”I said
“Liar! Is this a way to get money from me? I will certainly give you If it will make you two leave My son alone”he said
“We are not after your money! We only want Max to take responsibility of his…….”
“Don’t you dare continue,. I won’t let my son be defamed by poor thieves like you, that thing in you is not Max,so take your bastard and your self out of this place “he said cutting my mom off.
“But it really belongs to Max”I said again
“That is it, have had enough! First thing tomorrow,I want you two out of this house, I was feeling a bit bad about Max leaving you for Rose but now I don’t Care any more” he said
“You can’t do this to us!”I cried softly
“I can and I will, cant you see that Max is now happy with Rose, he has totally forgotten you”
“I won’t believe that until he tells me himself ”
“Fine then, if that will make you happy,I will give him a call and you will speak to him but first take a look at this, Rose sent me a v
Picture of them together “he said turning his lap top towards us.
I saw Rose and Max together, they were out hand in hand and they looked like a perfect couple.
Max had a smile on his face while Rose gazed up at him like he was the most perfect guy on earth.
“See he is happy with Rose now and so I think that you should stop pursuing him”he yelled at me and feeling hurt I ran out of the room and went to the garden to cry my heart out.
Max couldn’t have forgotten me, he loves me and am sure that he is missing me, I tried to call him again but when there was no answer, I gave up, I was heading back to the maid quaters when a guard came to me.
“Mr max is on the line and he wants to talk to you”he said
“Where is it?”I asked and he took me there,I saw my mom ,along with Max parents standing there waiting for me to answer the call.
“Hello Max”
“Hello Andrea”he said and just hearing his voice made me feel alive again
“Max I……”
“Now listen up, I will make this brief and save the both of us any more problems, am happy here Andrea, I don’t love you any more and once we are settled here, I will be marrying Rose, so stop pestering my parents and stop believing that I will come back to you”he said
“Tell me you are lying Max!”i said softly
“Its not a lie Andrea, forget about me because have already done that with you,good bye for good”he said and cut the call.
I dropped down the phone and began to cry softly.
“You heard him right! Now I want you two to pack your belongings and get out of my house when the sun rises tomorrow “Max father Said and left the room with his wife trooping after him
“Are you okay?” My mom came to me,giving me a hug
“No mom, am not okay!”I said as I cried in her arms
“Want us to leave?”she asked
“Yes mom, I want to go some where very far, grant me that request mom!”I begged softly
(PRESENT TIME)
I was brought back to reality when I got a message from my phone.
“I will be at your company tomorrow,I have a surprise for you ”
On reading Jack message I smiled, just what kind of surprise does he have for me.
