Adrian’s POV
“Let him go!!” Bellatrix screamed and Dianna’s neck snapped and she suddenly on the floor with a thud, setting me free
Bellatrix quickly ran to check up on me

“Dad! Are you okay?” she asked as her eyes darted all over me
“Your neck is burnt” she pointed out

I winced from the pain on my neck, Dianna held me with her fiery hand and burnt my neck, she’ll have ripped out my heart if Bellatrix didn’t do whatever she just did

“You saved my life” I said as I looked at her “How did you do that?”

“I don’t know, I just wanted her to leave you alone cause she was hurting you, so I screamed and she fell to the ground” Bellatrix said

“I think we’ve been looking at this the wrong, instead of using your focusing ability, we could’ve just used your anger, channeling your anger, you can do anything, anything at all, anger is more effective than anything else, it’s a driving force that can make you more powerful” I said
The wind suddenly wafted past my face and I winced again, the burn on my neck was hurting

“Let me try something Dad” Bellatrix said as she moved her palm close the my neck and she shut her eyes

“What are you doing?” I asked but the pain on my neck was slowly going away and when I touched my neck, all the blisters were gone

“You healed me” I said and she nodded

“I just closed my eyes and really wish your neck healed as I didn’t want you to be in pain” she said

“You seem to be understanding how to use your powers now”

“I think so” she said and I nodded
I glanced at Dianna who was still unconscious and an idea came to mind

“It’s good you know how to use your powers now Bellatrix because I need you to do something for me, before Dianna wakes up” I said

Ivan’s POV
It was nightfall already, Ethan and I prepared to go to the Guardian’s Cemetery to begin the spell that’ll free Sophie’s spirit

I stood in the living room waiting for Ethan to come down the stairs and Layla walked up to me

“What is it now Layla?” I asked

“It’s almost midnight” she said and I nodded

“I know that’s why Ethan and I will be leaving for the Cemetery soon so we can carry out the spell exactly at midnight”

“I know but Dianna and Eric, none of them is back yet” Layla said

“Oh, that’s right” I shrugged

“I think you should go look for them when you are done with the spell at the Cemetery” she said

“Ethan we are late” I said ignoring Layla

“I’m coming” Ethan replied from upstairs

“I’m talking to you Ivan” she said

“I don’t think you are because I’m sure I clearly told you before that I do not give a damn about whatever happens to Dianna or Eric or Gia or even Bellatrix, I give a damn about no one now, that is the the principle I’ve come to live by” I stated

Ethan came down the stairs with everything we needed

“Took you long enough” I said and then I looked at Layla
“If you are so worried about Dianna then send some of the witches or her human guards to look for her, she remains the queen of Arcane City after all” I said and I walked out with Ethan

I drove us to the Cemetery and as soon as we got there, Ethan began to set things up for the spell

“It seems Layla was worried about Dianna and Eric” Ethan said as he worked
“Are you worried about them too?”

“Do I look a bit like someone that’s worried about anyone?” I asked

“What we feel doesn’t always portray on our faces” Ethan said

“I told you this before Ethan but in case you’ve forgotten, I’ll remind you again, since we found a way to free Sophie’s spirit from hell, I finally decided to give up on revenge, I’ve come to terms with Sophie’s death and freeing her spirit is all I care about, nothing else, is it not enough that I’ve given up my revenge on them? Do I have to care about them too?” I asked

“Did you not give up your revenge because you care about them and you did not want to kill them?” Ethan asked and I scoffed

“I gave up on revenge because it’s draining and pointless, getting revenge will not bring back Sophie to life so what’s the point? The only thing I can actually do to help Sophie is free her spirit and that’s exactly what we are about to do, if you still want to get revenge on Dianna then go ahead, do whatever you want to them, you won’t see me stopping you” I said
“Now will you concentrate? it’s almost midnight”

Ethan proceeded with the spell preparation and soon it was done

“Okay so I’m going to summon the Hell Gates now, I’ll channel you and using the magic from the dagger, I’ll summon Sophie’s spirit, you will see her spirit as she comes but it’s only going to be for a split second before she finally disappears” Ethan explained

“I know, just proceed” I said and he nodded

We knelt in a circle drawn by Ethan and he grabbed the golden dagger making a cut on his hand and letting his blood drop round the circle

“It’s exactly midnight now, hold my hand” he said and I held his hand
He began to chant some spells and the wind began to blow strongly, the full moon turned red and a shiny blue gate began to appear

Ethan chanted the spell louder and I could feel him using my energy as the golden dagger lighted up too, it’s light being directed at the gate
The strong wind intensified and a light began to emanate from the gate into the circle Ethan and I knelt, I looked up and there she was, the only woman that I ever loved, the only one that truly loved the beastly Ivan Hammington

She looked at Ethan who continued to chant the spell, then she looked at me and she smiled, then slowly, she faded into the wind
The wind stopped blowing and the moon returned to it’s normal color as the Hell Gates disappeared

Ethan looked at me as a tear rolled down my face
“You saw her didn’t you?” he asked and I nodded

“She smiled, she looked at you and then at me and then she smiled” I said

“I guess she was happy, that you really did take care of me after her death” Ethan said
I cleaned the tears on my face and I stood up

“So she’s free now? Her soul is no longer being tortured in hell?” I asked and Ethan nodded

“Yeah it worked, we obviously used all the dagger’s magic as it isn’t golden anymore, it’s just a normal dagger now” Ethan said pointing at the dagger on the ground

“Good, then it is time to leave then” I said

“Leave? Leave to where? You don’t mean like leave the Hammington Mansion and Arcane City do you?” Ethan asked

“I’ve given up on revenge, Sophie’s soul is free now, I’m not obligated to care or help any of my siblings anymore, I’ve decided to move on, I’ve spent too much time in Arcane City anyways” I said

“What about me? If you are leaving then take me with you” Ethan said

“No, you are the Guardian of The Hell Gates, you stay here and make your life a successful one here”

“Why can’t you stay here with me then? Why must you leave? You said it yourself, Sophie was happy on seeing us together, she had a smile on her face even after suffering in hell, that’s just how much she cherish the fact that we are together even after her death” Ethan said

“Stop trying to stop me from leaving Ethan”

“Of course I’ll try to stop you from leaving, I need you here with me” he said

“You need me? For what? You are a grown up now, you never even listen to anything I say so why should I stay behind?”

“Because your presence here matters to me!!” Ethan yelled “I need you by my side, do not leave Arcane City forever, do not abandon me here, please”……..

Gia’s POV
I opened my eyes to a dark atmosphere, my eyes soon got accustomed to the darkness and I noticed I was laid against a tree and Eric sat in front of me, holding my golden dagger and staring at me

“Where am I?” I asked as I sat up

“I only moved you away from the middle of the road” Eric said

“You have my golden dagger” I said and he nodded

“I found it in your car”

“Then why didn’t you kill me with it, you could have easily plunged it into my chest while I was unconscious” I said

“Believe me I wanted to” Eric said

“Then why didn’t you?” I asked and he was silent

“You couldn’t, could you? You couldn’t bring yourself to kill me because you still care about me, you still regard me as your twin sister” I said

“I realized that even without your explanation, when Eva died, I spent six years unconscious as someone else lived off me, back then I was filled with so much rage and anger but on waking up I felt a little light hearted, I had grieved Eva’s death in silence while being unconscious, centuries ago I had killed the one you love and now you killed the only woman I ever loved too, you got your revenge and so the circle of revenge ends here, we are even now Gia” Eric said as he stood up

“What….. Where are you going?” I asked

“I am leaving, I have no business with you anymore” he said

“But….. I….. I didn’t expect you to forgive me so easily”

“I didn’t forgive you because there is nothing to forgive, I killed Michael and you killed Eva, you got the revenge you’ve so wanted, our century year old grudge ends here, everything is settled and there’s nothing between us now, you go about your business and I’ll go about mine but I’ll be taking this dagger with me, I do not trust you enough to let you continue to keep it” Eric said as he began to walk away

“Stop” I said as I stood up
“I’m sorry” I said and he turned around

“I shouldn’t have killed Eva like that, I…. I didn’t know what was wrong with me then, that was a phase of my life where I made a lot of bad decisions, many of which I regret” I said

“I never thought I’d see the day you apologize to me” Eric said

“Well I hope you enjoyed it while it lasted cause you won’t be hearing that apology again” I said and Eric shook his head

“You still remain, feisty” he said

“Being feisty runs in the Hammington bloodline and I am a Hammington” I said and he came towards me and engulfed me in a hug

“I missed you and I am so sorry” I said

“I thought you said I won’t be hearing the apology again?” Eric asked

“That’s really the last time now” I said and he laughed

“So, you said you had a pressing matter to attend to” Eric said

“Yeah, I must find Adrian”

“Your lover that I so much hate? Why are you looking for him?” Eric asked

“Oh he’s not my lover Eric, not anymore because when I finally see him, I am going to shred him to pieces” I said

“Nasty, what the hell did he do?” Eric asked and I hesitated a bit, I wasn’t sure if I should tell him about Bellatrix

“He took my daughter and ran away from me” I said

“Your daughter? You have a child now? Or do you mean Bellatrix because I wad told you escaped with Bellatrix and you were never found, well not until today” Eric said

“It’s….. it’s Dianna’s child, Bellatrix, I made her my child, changed her name even and I raised her but Adrian escaped with her from Mordor, he took her away from me!”

“What?! Do you hear yourself Gia? You are angry because Adrian took Bellatrix out of Mordor and away from you, how do you think Dianna felt when you also took her away from her? You deprived that little girl of a mother’s love because of your selfishness!!” Eric yelled

“But I became her mother! I loved and raised her like any mother would!” I stated

“But you are not her mother and that remains the truth! You took her away from her family, instead of growing up with us and being raised with love from all of us, you took her away and raised her with that imposter that looks like Micheal!!”

“I know, I shouldn’t have worked with Adrian in the first place, he betrayed me too, I made a mistake”

“Your mistake cost a little girl six years of her life away from her mother and her family!” Eric yelled again, bellowing with anger, he ran his hand through his hair and sighed

“According to your story, Adrian and Bellatrix are together now right?” he asked and I nodded

“I think I know where they are, Dianna is probably there already too so let’s go” Eric said as he went to his car and I sat in front with him, then he drove off

Ivan’s POV
“You are being unnecessarily emotional Ethan, that’s not like you” I said as I began to find my way out of the Cemetery and he followed me from behind

“I hate being like this too Ivan, it’s so embarrassing but just so you know, even after all my pleadings, if you still decide to leave then I shall follow you to wherever you go and you won’t be able to stop me” Ethan said

“Shut up Ethan, I’d like to enjoy a silent drive back home” I said as we both got into the car and I drove back home

“So you won’t leave again right? We’ll stay together in Arcane City right?” Ethan continued to ask

“Another word from you and I will drop you off here so you’ll walk yourself back home” I said

“Oh that won’t really be a bother to me as I will transport myself back home and I will get home before you do, in case you need reminding, I still remain a powerful witch, I’m the Guardian of The Hell Gates and there are many things that I can do” Ethan said and I stopped the car

“Suite yourself then, get out from the car and make sure you get home before I do” I said

“Oh are you challenging me now? I can be very competitive you know” he said

“So can I, now get out” I said and he smiled

“Fine, make sure you drive as fast as you can” Ethan as he got out of the car and I drove off

What was I thinking, that boy still remains a kid, I am in no competition with him
But then I found my leg pressing harder on the acceleration pedal, can he really get home before me regardless of how fast I go?

I drove as fast as I could on reaching the Mansion, I saw Ethan standing outside the Mansion

“How did you….”

“I teleported myself here, you should never compete with the Guardian of The Hell Gates” Ethan said

“I never competed with you” I said as we both walked in

“Where’s Layla?” I asked some house worker in the Mansion

“She took some men with her and left, she said to tell you that she was going to look for Dianna” the worker said

“When did Layla begin to care so much about Dianna?” Ethan asked

“She cares so much about everybody, that’s her forte” I said

“She said she had a bad feeling, I think she said had a vision of a Hammington dying today so she was really worried her vision might be true” the worker said

“A Hammington dying today? I haven’t heard that in a thousand years” I said

“But if Layla went to look for Dianna then she might be in danger” Ethan said and I looked at him

“Fine, let’s go check on that old woman” I said

“Only because we don’t want her to die yet” Ethan said

“Not because we care about her” I completed as we got back into the car and I drove off……
