Brie’s POV
“Where the hell is Jayden?!” Bella asked as she paced around
“Are you sure you told him Audrey escaped?” I asked Landon and he nodded
“Yes I did, but he didn’t seem to care” Landon said
Andre walked in
“We managed to get the wolves to disperse but they are all scared, the killings are getting too frequent, they need their Alpha”
“What could be more important to Jayden than the safety of his pack?!” Bella said
“He just went off like that? Didn’t he say anything?” I asked
“He did, he asked of Luna’s whereabouts and he sped out immediately I told him Luna left the Mansion at dusk” Landon explained
“Well let’s wait for him then, am sure he’ll be back soon” I said
Everyone waited silently and an hour soon went by
We heard the sound of a car and I sprang up
“Told you he’ll be back”
The door opened and Jayden and Luna walked in
“Where the have you too been!” Bella said
“Is there any problem?” Jayden asked
“What? Didn’t Landon tell you that Audrey escaped and some wolves got killed by the demon wolf?” I asked
“Oh, I…. Landon did tell me about Audrey’s escape but I actually forgot” he said
“You forgot?! Wow!” Bella said
“I don’t know if I should be happy or sad” I said and moved closer to him and hugged him “We always complain about how overzealous you are and now you slacked off for the first time, I don’t know the right emotion for this situation, am so proud of you”
“Brie! How can you be proud of him for neglecting his Pack’s problems!” Bella said
“Oh please Bella, admit it, you are happy too, brother is finally changing!” I said
“I….. I need to go upstairs, am tired” Luna said as she climbed up the stairs
“Jayden what…..”
“I’ll be back” Jayden said as he went after Luna
“Did….. did I just see that right?” Bella asked
“Landon did you see that?!” I asked mouth agape
“Am still trying to figure out if this is real” Landon said
“We should hold a party Bella, seems the goddess is finally answering our prayers” I said
Luna’s POV
I walked into the room and looked around
Then I closed my eyes
Let’s just forget it Luna, let’s not remember that night, it wasn’t Jayden’s fault, I made him drink and he got drunk and out of control

“Are you okay?” Jayden asked from behind and I flinched as I quickly opened my eyes
“Yes am….. am fine. What are you doing here? Don’t you have to discuss Audrey’s escape with Landon and your sisters?” I asked
“I just…. wanted to make sure you are fine” he said and I laughed
“Is anything funny?” he asked
“Your joke is really funny” I chuckled
“What joke?” he asked looking clueless and I stopped laughing
“Oh you….. you were serious? You really came to check if am fine?”
“Why else will I have followed you up here?” he said
“Oh….. Well am….. am fine thank you” I said trying to hide my surprise
“Get some rest, I’ll be back later” he said and I nodded as I stared at him
“Okay then” he said
I stared at him as he walked out and closed the door behind
What happened to him?
What happened to the ruthless and unfeeling Jayden?
I shrugged
“I have no strength to care about that now, I am so tired” I said as I slumped on the bed
Jayden’s POV
I went back downstairs to meet Landon and my sisters
“So how many of our wolves were killed?” I asked but they all stared at me
“I just asked you guys a question”
“Oh am sorry, 4 wolves, the demon wolf killed 4 of our wolf warriors” Landon said
“Means he only killed the wolf guards we stationed at the cottage Audrey was held” I said and Landon nodded
Then I sighed
“Quit staring at me Brie and Bella, am trying to think here!” I said
“Oh, sorry brother” they said
“The whole pack is afraid Jayden, the killings are getting too frequent and nothing is being done” Landon said
“That’s exactly his plan, that’s why he’s giving us this intermittent attack rather than a full battle, he wants to instill fear in us all by keeping us in suspense, wondering when and how he’ll carry out his next attack, it’s a fighting strategy, one that I will not fall for and neither should anyone in my pack fall for it!” I said
“I understand but that won’t change the fact that they saw there fellow wolves throats slashed and brutally killed” Landon said and I nodded
“The full moon is coming is in four days time, when they are all assembled for The Hunt on the night of the full moon, I will speak to them but till then, watch your six Landon, each and every warrior should be prepared because that’s what we do, when you face an enemy you do not run away, you do not fear, what you do is maintain your stance and you fight!”
“Yes Alpha!” Landon nodded
“So are we done here?” I asked as I stood up
“Are you going somewhere?” Brie asked
“I have some work at the office” I replied
“Oh he hasn’t changed” Bella whispered to Brie
“Yeah, he’s still a workaholic” Brie replied
“You guys know I can hear you right?” I asked and they looked at me
“I thought you had some work to do in the office?” Brie said
“Yeah, run along now, you can’t afford to be late” Bella said
“Goodbye brother!” they yelled in unison
“Sometimes I forget how troublesome you two can be” I said as I walked out
Bella’s POV
“Okay, I’ll be going out too” I said as I stood up
“Where are you going?” Brie asked
“A secret” I winked
“Send him my greetings!” Brie said and I chuckled
I drove out of the Mansion and when to the coffee shop Kilan and I agreed to meet
But he wasn’t here yet, so I waited
“How dare him keep me waiting! Oh I’ll make you pay for making me wait Kilan” I said and Kilan suddenly walked into the coffee shop
“Speak of the devil and he appears” I said as he sat with me
“Am I the devil you are referring to?” he asked
“Well you are the one that just appeared” I shrugged and he smiled
“I know what this is about, you are angry I came late and kept you waiting” he said
“Well am sure you weren’t expecting to see me overjoyed about that” I said
“I was busy” he said
“And am sure you can’t tell me what kept you busy” I said
“Bella….”
“Am trying hard not to be the prying friend but this can’t work without us not knowing anything about ourselves and always hiding things from each other” I said
“You don’t understand Brie, it’s dangerous to….”
“You don’t have to tell me everything at a go, we’ll take it slowly, each day we meet, you tell me one thing I don’t already know about you and I will do the same, is that okay with you?” I asked and he hesitated
“Kilan?”
“Fine” he nodded
“Great, so since today’s the first day, let’s start it simple shall we? Tell me your name, your full name” I said
“Kilan Castle” he said
“Nice to meet you Mr Castle, my name is Isabella Ashford” I said and be chuckled
“See that wasn’t so hard was it?” I asked
“No it wasn’t” he smiled
“So what shall we order apart from coffee in a coffee shop” I said as I looked through the Menu and he laughed
Luna’s POV
I opened my eyes and I found myself in front of the large tree the Moon goddess’s shrine was situated
The atmosphere was eerie and it was dark, the shinning full moon was the only source of light
“What am I doing here?” I muttered
Then I heard a loud yet frigid voice
“Every action bears a brunt
On the night of The Hunt
When darkness begins to converge
The Demon Wolf shall emerge” The voice said and I suddenly sprang up from the bed, sweating and panting……
