South Africa, September 1940….

3 months had passed since the dance festival and life has since then been peaceful and normal ; However, it seems that all that peaceful tranquility was about to be shattered by a foreign intrusion.
One Saturday afternoon, the big cargo sh¡p landed on the port of South Africa and out of that sh¡p emerged 3 German soldiers all in disguises, One was disguised himself as a English man while the other 2 disguised themselves as Americans.
After they all took their luggage and got out of the sh¡p, They stood in awkwardly for a while before leaving the port. Here in the rural streets of Soweto, the 3 men walked around looking at the natives with disgust ; One of the men complained bitterly as he saw one of the natives spitting out mucus in an irritating manner.

Dolph ➡ Diz place is disgusting Wilhelm! Are you sure we are in ze right place?

In that moment, Jeremiah who was happening to be passing by was s₱0tted by the Germans and they wasted no time in calling his attention. Seeing the strangers before him, Jeremiah hesitated before approaching them cautiously in case something might happen.

Confused by what the major said, Dolph and Horst kept quiet and watched as their commanding officer handled the situation. In that moment, the major brought out two notes of British pounds and handed to Jeremiah, who collected it hurriedly and shoved it in his coat pocket. Life is truly full of surprises, I never thought coming here to Africa would bless me with good fortunes especially when it comes to my rom-nce life.
I’d never thought I would have the courage to do what I did especially the infidelity which I had committed against my husband but sincerely speaking I have no regrets cause for the first time in my life, I truly feel like a woman living the good life. My rom-nce with Luan was stronger than ever and unlike before I wasn’t ashamed of keeping our relationsh¡p a secret. We always spend time together by driving around the country side or making love to each other but we mostly spend time in bed than in outdoors.

I took the letter and recalled it was Anderson’s letter which I had received together with Aunt Patricia’s letter months ago. Instead of reading the letter, I squeezed the damn thing and threw it out of my window.
Shortly after that, I went over to my wardrobe to dress myself but before that could happen, Marian came into my room and announced that breakfast was ready.

Elizabeth ➡ Have you seen your brother?

Marian ➡ Yes, He just left the farm house moments ago.

After Marian left, I stood in front of my wardrobe and began to think about what she said. Something wasn’t right about all this especially the way she answered my question. It was like she and her brother were hiding something from me. Luan’s absence really annoyed me, how could he just leave like that without notifying me? I don’t see anything wrong in telling me that he wanted to see his sick god father but the way he disappeared indicated that there was something odd going on and I’m going to find out why if that’s the last thing I do.

Hours later, here I was sitting in front of my porch reading one of my novels. The afternoon sun was really hot and there wasn’t any work for me to do. My honey business has been on a halt as well, the bees were slowly making honey and I’ve sold every last jar 🍯 and container of honey to my customers, earning myself a generous profit. So since there wasn’t any demand for honey I’d figure this would be a good time for the bees to make lots of honey before people demand for more. Luan has been behind the success of this business of mine, the rascal somehow managed to draw more customers to my business and thanks to hid efforts I’ve gotten quite rich as of recent.
And speaking of the charming rascal, I’ve been anxiously waiting for Luan to return from his godfather’s place so that I could get some answers behind his disappearance. Even after I was done reading my novel, there was still no sign of Luan. Seeing that there was no precise time of Luan’s return, I headed back into the house and went straight to my bedroom to change into something casual so that I could go visit Erica. As i was halfway through the stairs, I heard a knock on the door and I went to check who it was ; immediately I opened the door, I was shocked beyond belief when I saw my husband with a couple of strangers behind him.

Elizabeth ➡ (shocked) A… A.. Anderson?

In that brief moment, Anderson stepped closer to me and wrapped his hands around me, planting a long sensual k-ss on my l-ips.

Major ➡ Well, the trip was exhausting and the war is still getting more and more heated. That damn Hitler is just making things worse.

Elizabeth ➡ I see. I’m glad that you’re here.

Major ➡ Me too…. By the way, these are my colleagues. This is lieutenant Horst and Sargent Dolph. Gentlemen meet my lovely wife Elizabeth.

Elizabeth ➡ It’s my pleasure. You’re both welcome to my home.

Dolph ➡ The pleasure is ours, Mrs. Elizabeth. The major was right, you really are beautiful.

After his colleagues left, Anderson closed the door and took me to my bedroom trying to make love to me. Life is too short and the war is getting more and more out of hand. I may not know the future but I’d say that the Führer Hitler is going to lead us all to a brutal ending. If there’s a greater teacher in this world, it’s History.
For countless generations, History has shown and proven that men of great power like Hitler always get a unfortunate end and those who fail to learn the lessons of history are nothing but fools ; But I am no fool, I’m smart enough to learn the lessons of history and when the world comes crashing down on Hitler’s head, I will not be by his side to share his fate.
For that reason, I left the army and fled here to this God forsaken African country to hide with my wife. I may be a traitor but there’s nothing more important to me than my life. But i left, I came across a valuable information that would help me live the rest of my life in comfort. Gold. There’s of a lot of it here in this backward country, No wonder the British colonized this place in the 1800s. They were milking the country’s mineral resources to their own use and advantage and the hypocrites claim that the of their colonization was to westernized the South African people.
Well, they won’t be the only ones plucking the fruits cause now I’ll have to find the best s₱0t to find Gold and when I do, I’ll be rich beyond my wildest dreams.
