CHAPTER 48…. ❤️
Mira finally gave up in her mission to ask for her mother. Seems this wasn’t the right time to do so.
Setting her time, both on her alarm and phone, she turned off the light and went to bed.
…. Early the next morning….
Her alarm clock woke her this time. Maybe she wrong afterall. Maybe she was the one that had set the wrong time yesterday. Sighing she got down from bed and quickly did her routine and was ready before 6:30am. Carrying her bag she left but just as yesterday, a pail of water dropped on her as soon as she left her door.
“Again” Mira gr–ned. She couldn’t believe that Anna will pull such stunt once again.
She hurried to change her cloth and leave as there was still time but yet as soon as she got aside, the driver just left the gate leaving her behind again. Mira checked her wrist watch… 6:50am. She was early by 10minutes. That means they purposely left her.
“Mira” she turned to face the voice that called her.
” Good morning sir” she greeted Ezekiel who was just staring at him.
Looking at him from head to toe, he seemed dressed and ready for work.
“What are you doing here?” He asked
“I.. I…” Mira didn’t even know what to tell him.
“Wait” he paused her… “Where’s the driver that is supposed to drop you and Anna off?”
“He… Left” Mira finally said.
” What do you mean by that? ” He asked sternly and somewhat upset.
” He drove away with Anna” then Ezekiel face became sour.
Bringing out his phone, Mira watched him dial a number.
“Drive back to the mansion this minute” he yelled on the phone.

” Drive back to the mansion this minute” his boss yelled . Hope he hadn’t brought a trouble to himself
“Yes sir” he ended the call and gulped hærd. He immediately reversed the car and headed for the mansion.
“What’s happened?” Anna who sat at the backseat pressing her phone asked.
“Sir commanded we should return him now” the driver told her.
“You mean my brother”
” Yes miss”…
” Oh God” Anna facepalmed.” Does he know that I’ll be late to class today” Anna lamented.
” He sounded quite upset miss” the driver told her.
What could have made Ezekiel mad this early morning…
As soon as the car drove in the gate, Anna s₱0tted Ezekiel and Mira standing together. Mira looked a bit nervous while Ezekiel just as the driver had said , looked quite upset.
“What’s wrong bro____” Anna couldn’t even finish her statement before Ezekiel interrupted.
“What’s the meaning of this Anna?” He demanded immediately.
“Wha…. What.. do you mean? ” Anna stammered. It was rare to see Ezekiel this upset.
” Why would you have the driver drive you to school and leave Mira behind?? ” He demanded again.
‘so she told him’ Anna thought in her mind and glared at Mira who just avoided her gaze.
“I.. I….. But… She was being late. I couldn’t wait for her else I’ll be late to” Anna excused.
” Its just 7:08am Anna. You left before seven and if am correct, Mira was ready and here waiting before then” Ezekiel half yelled.
Maids and guard peeked from their various places wondering what was going on. Anna felt utterly embrassed.
Seeing that Anna had nothing to say to defend herself, Ezekiel calmed down.
“I don’t want this to repeat itself. Now you too should leave”
Mira slowly walked into the car without saying a word and Anna joined and the driver drove.
“Because of what you did, my hatred for you has deepen” Anna stated angrily anss turned to face the window.

Finally, the good news she has been waiting to hear has finally come. Her biggest mission was going to be accomplished.
“Let’s go mom” she heard her son shout from the living room.
“I’ll be there” she shouted back.
“Be quick. If not, we are going to miss our flight”
Lady Ri only smiled and hurrily applied her makeup. She was leaving this country that had caused her pain because of just one soul.
“Mira” lady Ri called out. Her name was like poison on her l-ips.
It felt like a forbidden word that she shouldn’t pronounce. But it doesn’t matter.
Sazuki had called her this morning informing her that the work had been done. They had finished the girl (Mira)once and for all. Now she can go on her vacation and enjoy it with peace of mine.
She rounded up the make up and carried her handbag and left the room ready to go .
“Finally your ready” her son said and she nodded with a smile.
“Here take..” she gave her son her handbag. ” I’ll meet you outside”
“What now?!” He gr–ned. He had been waiting for her to get ready since 2hours ago. And they had to hurry so as not to miss the flight if not, they’ll have to wait for 8hours for the next flight to Europe.
” It’s not going to take long.”
“Fine .. just be quick about it” … He said and took the handbag.
*Sigh* .. women… He was never going to understand them.
“You see that cutie” she placed her fingers on the picture of her late cat. ” I kept my promise to you. The levenson’s are done for. I’ve taken revenge for you my baby. Now you can rest … Knowing that” she smiled and k-sed the picture and left . She locked the door and got into the car where her son was waiting for her.

CHAPTER 49…. 😭
***2 weeks later***
Finally, for once in a very long time, Mira felt happy and at peace. Everything was moving smoothly for her. Although Anna hated but she didn’t care. She didn’t allow Anna get to her.
Fortunately, she had Kira with her to lighten the burden of her of everything worng in her life.
But in all, she was glad. She kept on praying to God for her mom hoping that she was safe and one day, she’ll meet her and everything will go back to normal. She couldn’t wait for that day.
And her baby Isabella, Isabella right now was her joy giver. She loved her whole heartedly. And most of all, she was grateful to Ezekiel. He had been a blessing in disguise. Though, nowadays, he had quite troubled. Mira deduced that the company affairs must be a taking a huge toil on him. Mira could only wished that she could help but that’s impossible.
This left Mira wondering, what happened the last child of Mrs and Mr Lockhart.
Why isn’t he helping his family?
Did he abandon them?
Mira was sure that he was aware of the happenings in the company but wasn’t that enough for him to come back and help Ezekiel?
Well, Mira can’t conclude on his reason for not coming back yet. Maybe he had a valid one. Maybe there’s an agreement between him and his family. Mira didn’t want to have a bad imagery of him before she met him. That is if she will ever meet him.

A beautiful Wednesday morning. While Mira was preparing for school. She heard shouts and laughter from the other room. She quickly went outside and found out that it was coming from Mr and Mrs Lockhart room.
Seems like something big was going on there. Mira went to check it out. She was greeted with a family bonding scene.
Mr and Mrs Lockhart sat on their bed while Anna hugged her mom. Ezekiel, Lucas, Mabel and Thomas stood with smiles. With Ezekiel holding a cake and Mabel holding a camera.
“Happy anniversary sir and ma” Thomas said and bowed a little.
‘what? It’s their wedding anniversary today’ mira thought and felt heart broken that no one had informed her. Once again, they had reminded her that was a stranger. An outsider. Someone who wasn’t part of their family and never will.
Her eyes stinging with tears, she left and ran to her room and locked the door. She sat on her bed and broke into tears.
“Mom😭”

“Happy wedding anniversary Mr and Mrs Lockhart” Mira wished as soon as she saw them in the sitting room.
Ezekiel sat on a sofa opposite his parents. Anna stood near Mira and rolled her eyes when Mira wished them.
“Thank you my dear” Ezekiel’s mom said while Ezekiel dad smiled.
“Okay Mom and Dad, we are off” Anna announced and pulled Mira by the hand and waved bye.
‘okay this is new’ Mira said within herself as Anna pulled her.
“As you have seen, today is my parents anniversary. Wedding anniversary. We will have to be back from school early for a small family celebration and dinner. ” Anna spoke and Mira nodded waiting for her to go straight to the point.
“Is this why you pulled me?” Mira asked and Anna glared at her before a smile finally graced her l-ips.
“Don’t feel to special that I did” she taunted but Mira kept a straight face.
” Anyway, we will leave school today by 12. We need to get something for my mom and dad”
” We? ” Mira asked surprised.
” Yes we” Anna confirmed.
” But…. Why do I have to? I don’t have anything to get for them”
” How would you? Have your parents ever celebrated their wedding anniversary before? ” Anna asked innocently but Mira knew better. She was indirectly mocking her.
“You don’t have to get anything. Am telling you this because we will both leave the school together and at the same time. And … ” Anna paused but Mira was unenthusiastic to hear what she had to say.
“You are only coming with me because I want you to.” Anna just added and got into the car. Mira took deep breath before entering and the car drove off.

“So your leaving now right” Kira asked as she escorted her friend to the parking lot where Anna was standing beside the car waiting patiently.
“Yes. I guess I have to” Mira answered and sighed.
” Will you hurry up!!” Anna shouted .
” Hold on… lemme teach her a lesson”Kira said and was heading to Anna when Mira stopped. Anna smirked. She knew Kira was coming to attack her.
“No don’t. Its ok” Mira said calming Kira down.
“How can you tolerate her ? She is literally our age. She can’t speak you like as though she is your elder” Kira gritted her teeth in anger.
” Why do you love tolerating such people?”
“I don’t have a choice Kira. Remember, it’s because of her family that am here today” Mira said trying to reason out.
” But…”
” But nothing. Am okay with how things are .” Mira said and Kira nodded. Giving her a long hug,Mira left for the car.
“Finally” ….Anna rolled her eyes as Soon as Mira got in.

Mariam held up the bottle in her hand. This was the bottle that was going to finish Mira once and for all.
“Finally. Today is the perfect day to carry out this plan” ..
Yep… She has been planning this for a long time. It was only the content in the bottle that delayed her from carrying out the plan. She had opportunities to do so…. But it okay, it’s worth the wait.
“Today… You will be gone for life Mira” Mariam smirked. Sophie who was passing to her room heard everything that naraima had said.
“Wow. Seems like you have lot of enemies Mira. Tsk tsk ” Sophie smirked and left to her room.

Mira fed Isabella who fell asleep immediately. Nowadays, that was all Izzy did….Mira found it quite funny. Izzy had does anything but sleeps the most
“Even your father who is very busy doesn’t sleep as much as you” Mira teased while dropping Isabella in her crib.
“Come on Mira. Dinner is starting” Mabel who was passing announced.
” Am coming” …
She just had to wash her hands first.
She Headed to the kitchen to wash her hand. The last maid left with the tray of food to serve. Mira saw all the drinks and desert arranged on the first counter but it was more than 5. There were 8 to be precise.
“I wonder who else is joining” Mira thought out loud.
She went over to the second counter where the sink was located. She washed her hands quick and was leaving when the spoons basket fell.
She bent down to pick the spoons when she heard a voice.
“Finally. A good opportunity” she recognized mariam’s voice. Rather than getting up, she decided to peek at what she was up to.
She watched as Mariam brought out a small transparent nylon and poured all the content into a glass cup with green flower designs.
Mira gasped. Mira noticed that every cup had different colour designs.
“Mariam is poisoning the drink…but why and for who?” Mira asked herself.
” What are you doing here?” Mira heard another voice.
Mariam heart almost jumped out when Mabel walked in. She thought she had seen her.
“I….I…”
“Would you carry the desert tray to the dinning table now!” Mabel ordered and mariam nodded hoping to come back on time and take the drinks to serve.
The moment she left, Sophie walks in which Mira doesn’t see.
“Here take this” Mabel handed the drinks over to Sophie and she nodded.
Sophie took the drinks to that table and placed them for the family members who were just arriving.
She ensured that Mira didn’t get the cup that Mariam had poisoned.
Why?
Because that was the order. Nothing is to happen to Mira . She was here to ensure that.
The moment Mabel left….Mira got up and arranged the spoons. She immediately went back to the counter but the tray of drinks weren’t there anymore.
This means, they had already been served. Mira immediately dashed out of the kitchen to the dinning room.
Everyone was already seated. Mira stood at the entrance and scanned her eyes around for the glass cup with green flower design. She almost didn’t see it till she s₱0tted it with Mrs Lockhart. Ezekiel was proposing a toast.
Mariam saw Mira who stood looking and she followed her gaze to realize that she was looking at Mrs Lockhart who held the glass cup that she had added the poison in. Dread filled mariam face as soon as the toast finished and Mrs Lockhart was about to drink from when…
“Wait. Don’t drink that” Mira yelled and everyone paused.
Anna smirked at Mira.
” First,she comes late and now , she interrupts family time. You never seized to amaze me Mira” Anna thought.
” Why?”. Lucas asked the question on everyone’s mind..
Mira immediately went to Mrs Lockhart and grabbed the glass cup from Mrs Lockhart shocking everyone.
“What the hell do you think your doing?” Anna yelled getting up. Even Lucas too got up .
“I….I….” Mira couldn’t find words to say.
‘would anyone believe me ?’ Mira asked herself. And nope, no one would. So there’s only one thing to do.
Mira immediately gulped down the entire content in the cup…
Leaving everyone mouth dropping except Mariam who smiled trumphiantly…..
