CHAPTER ONE:

~ Elise’s POV ~

Today is Monday, and do you know what I hate about Monday’s?
The answer is school.

Summer has gracefully ended and I am left to face a new year of my last year in highschool.

School s-cks, a lot. No, it’s not because I don’t like school works; actually I’m a straight A student.
It’s just a constant reminder of my problems.

Hearing the crazy buzzing sound of the alarm has only made things worst.
Shutting it down and returning to my sweet slumber before mom’s voice has to create the worst part of my history.

“Wake up sleepyhead, you’re gonna be late for school.”

Can someone ever get a good sleep, especially when you’re at the middle of the most important part of your dream?
With mother, the answer is ‘NO’

I finally got my ass out of the bed to the bathroom.
Stepping out, I looked at the wall clock, it was just hitting 6 o’clock.

But that’s not for mom, she always believe that going to school early was the attributes of a good student.
I’m a good student, but those words aren’t for me.

I reluctantly dressed up, heading down the stairs for my breakfast.
Mom smiled, as she watched me coming towards the dinning.

“What?” I asked, returning the smile.

“You look beautiful today. ”

” Oh please, mom. It’s not like you haven’t seen my on the uniform before. ”

” I know, but today is so different. You look new. ”

” Thanks. ” I sat on one of the chairs, slowly chewing on my food.

” How ready are you for today?” She asked.

” Very. It’s almost two months since I last saw BlackBurn, and it’s almost two weeks since I talked with Lora and Floris. I can’t wait to be in school again. ” I said, chewing on another spoonful of my rice.

” Are you gonna drive me to school?” I asked, hoping she would say a ‘yes’.
And a ‘yes’ she did say.

” I’m gonna get my things ready. Be with your bag pack before I return.”

I nodded.

Mom got her car keys and we were finally zoomed off home to school.
Remembering I was heading to school made me happy the more.

It’s good to be back to school, especially when you’ve got the BFF ever.

We finally got to the school’s parking lot, mom k-ssed me on my forehead.
“Try to be a good girl.”

“Mom,” I frowned.” You don’t have to keep telling me that each time school resumes. I am always a good girl, okay. ”

” Well, I just felt like telling you now. ”

” Fine. I will. ”

” Promise me. ”

” Urgh.. ” I stepped out of the car, shutting the door behind me.

I didn’t wanna reply her. I mean, it always happens each day school resumes. Not that I’m actually complaining, I just don’t like it when people tries to encourage me to be what I am.

“Elise?” She called, this time horning at me.

From the corner of my eyes, I could see everyone staring at me.
“What?”

“Promise me.”

“Fine. I promise.” I said with my little finger high.

“Bye, sweetie.”

“Bye, mom.” I rolled my eyes.
She zoomed off, while I made my way to the hallway.

“Is she always like that?” I heard Lora’s voice from behind.

The frown look on my face quickly faded as I sighted Lora running toward me.
We fell in each other’s arms, hugging ourselves tight.

“Oh, Elise, it’s been a long time. How have you been?” She asked.

“I’ve been good, what about you?”

“Same. Sorry I didn’t call all those while, got stuffs to do.”

“Mind telling me what this stuffs are? ”

” Sure, but that will do at lunchtime. Then Floris we will be with us. ”

Speaking of Floris, where the heck is she? I mentally asked, staring around.

“What’s it?” She asked, staring around too.

“Floris, have you seen her?”

She shook, “Just coming to school now. Why don’t we go check on our new class, maybe Floris might be there. ”

I nodded.

We stopped at the entrance door of our new class, I couldn’t stop from admiring everyone single person.
It’s really been a long time since I saw anyone. Everyone tried to look amazing at their first day in school.

What do you expect?
Who wanna be the odd one around?

“Hey bitches, missed me?” Now that was one voice I can never forget even in my dreams.

I smiled, heading to her direction. “No one misses you, Flo.”

“Touché.”

“Come here,” we hug for a brief second before breaking free.

We picked three seats which would be our personal chairs for the rest of the semester.
Once again, being back to school was fun.

The first period ran painfully slow, and I know the rest of the classes would be the same.

I have indirectly searched for Daniel since the classes began but haven’t seen him.
Guess his own resumption will be tomorrow.

That is Daniel for you. He’s always the type who does things his own way, cared less about the school rules and doesn’t give a f-ck about what it says.
It’s just the usual him all the time, who are you to question him why?

Daniel has been the quarterback of the football team since our first year. He’s won so many matches and has also been every girls dreams.

Yeah, including me.

When I got to know Daniel, I hated him. Everyone would like to hate a pride jock as much as I do.
He had this boostful believe that he was the sweetest and s-xiest thing in BlackBurn.

But not until I proved his crazy theory wrong. He was much of an annoying assh-le, a sick headed bone.
But now…

He’s much of a sweet loving boyfriend. My sweet loving boyfriend

Now I’m talking rom-ntic.

You know what they always say? Never judge a book by its cover. Maybe he was only being a jerk because no one has ever played jerk on him.

Thankfully, the recreation bell was rung. Lora, Floris and I went to the cafeteria.
While we picked our trays, we head as everyone talked about a new principal taking over.

I mean, where the heck did Mr Ben went to?

Yep, Mr Ben? That’s the craziest but funniest principal BlackBurn has ever had. He was a strict and disciplined man, and not even the teachers joked with him.

But everyone can rate him as the best amongst the best of the academy.
And now they are talking about a new principal, I hope it’s not the hot headed type.

“Did you hear that? Mr Ben has retired.” Flo said with a shook.

“I hope everything is alright. I swear, I’m gonna miss him a lot. ” I said as we sat on one of the tables.

” I heard he retired due to family issues. Travelled two weeks ago after he had an emergency call. ”

” Did you heard what might be the problem? “I asked, sounding more concerned than I looked.

” Nope. Maybe a death call, who knows. ” She shrugged.
