FINAL EPISODE
EPISODE 28
Sen. Edeth, had already sent his most deadly assassins after, the three old men, who had escaped out of the country.
As he had a vow with them to either die while tracking them down or kill the old men and regain their freedom from him forever.

The three old men had already travelled out of the country to different places of their choice without knowing they were trailed, anyways, their survival or death now was in their hand, as we forever close their page in the story.

Mr. Smith had placed a call to Sen. Edeth saying that, it seemed like he couldn’t continue with the governorsh¡p contest and that infuriated Sen. Edeth, as he threatened him over and over again, with maiming his family and told him that he would come over to his house so that they talk things out.

Sen. Edeth himself, was already making preparations to travel out of the country, but wanted Mr. Smith to be a scape goat, in the case where Merciless strikes again.
……………..
He had clearly, arrived at Mr. Smith’s house without actually recognising that it was really a trap and funny enough he came secretly without any of his guards.

A popular saying, says he who the goats wants to destroy they first make blind, as it really was crystal clear, it was so with Mr. Edeth, who’s thirst to survive, overwhelmed his usual careful and cautious attitude.

He had stepped in the sitting room of Mr. Smith, as he angrily banged the door.

As he yelled at the seemingly startled Smith.

“What’s the meaning of this? I’m the boss here and I tell you when to pull off or when not to or are you trying to double cross on me?”

Sen. Edeth shouted on him, as he pointed his walking stick at him, which looked like a weapon of mass destruction at him.

“Chief calm down. You clearly know of the threat Merciless, is and his killing spree and you order me to remain in this country?”

Mr. Smith said slowly.

“That’s bullshit!! Absolute bullshit!! what I say stands. any act of disobedience, I will have you and your family wiped off.”
He yelled seriously.

“Actually my sentiments chief.”
Mr. Smith replied back a bit more fiercely.

“What are you threatening me?”
Sen. Edeth said, as his hands moved into his agbada wear. Probably trying to pull out a gun 🔫.

“And senator what if he really is making a threat?”
Another voice interjected, as Jeff walked out in a classic denim jeans and a polo with a pistol 🔫 in hand.

“What?? How come? Both of you work together?”
Sen. Edeth said as he had a deep feeling of danger creeping upwards, as cold sweats filled his back.

“Actually not, we just came together because of the greater picture to remove an unnecessary evil.”
Charles said coming out too as he was in a baggy shots and white shirt and a baseball cap, looking somehow funny.

The appearance of Charles didn’t shock Sen. Edeth, but Jeff and Mr. Smith? They had been working together all this while?, while he himself felt he had everything in control, while he didn’t know that he was the highest joker of the continent.

“Shocked? Surprise? Actually I have been waiting for this day, this very moment. You murdered my parents for some stupid and selfish ambition of yours, stupid ambition and greed. I know you regret it all now as gbas!! gbos!!! it’s having a rebound effect. you are simply evil and despicable. but I can’t really take laws into my own hands by killing you. you will have to face the full brunt of the law. And when you would be out, you would be two hundred years. I won’t kill you because two wrongs can’t make a right.”
Jeff said righteously, as he was pained but had no intentions to kill him.

“That’s bullshit! Neither can a right and a wrong make a right. the system of the country is polluted and before you know it, this man is out of prison. because I know you won’t love to see a berserk Senator after your sweet family, so the earlier the better. I’m taking his life today and that’s final.”
Charles said angrily, as his eyes glistened with killing intent, that only could be seen in assassins who had really murdered countless lives.

“Hahahaha!! I Edeth can never believe that one day I would have my life and death being bargained by a while lot of low lives, you played your games quite well, but I have nothing to regret, in my life or do I care to differentiate between rights and wrong. All I know is that, I do whatever that pleases me, an that’s the sweetness of power. I am a darkness in the city of light and if I survive this. I will come for each and everyone of you.”

He said pointing at the three of them.

“Funny enough, you won’t have that chance.”

Charles said as he pulled the trigger at his forehead and released another in his eyes, as it burst open his eyeballs, as he Sen. Edeth fell down dead. A dead man, way more deader than dead.
“Obviously dead men don’t make threats.”
Mr. Smith muttered as he sighed in relief.

EPILOGUE

The death of Sen. Edeth was kept a top secret between the four of them as Sylvia was equally included in the mix.

Mr. Smith gave up his right to contest for the gubernatorial seat, as he staunchly supported Jeff. the date of the election was drawing more and more closer and the winner couldn’t yet be told. But one thing is for sure and that is, the election would be free and fair.

Blade had gotten quite a lot better and had left the sick bay, enjoying quite a suitable rom-nce and fun filled relationsh¡p with Sharon, the woman who is now his fiance.

Charles and Sylvia are already in the preparation for their marriage rites as it all moved quite very well.
But Charles hid a secret so well and that was He was Merciless, a secret he vowed to keep till death.
