EPISODE 8
Jeff, could be seen in Mrs. Ejike Caroline’s house by invitation as he was led by his men.

After that Mrs. Caroline requested a personal audience with Jeff, as she said, she had something to discuss with him.

Both, we’re sat in her garden as they enjoyed the glass of juice in hand, while they discussed In a relaxed manner.

“Mr. Jeff.”
She said smiling while lowering her glass in a quite charming manner.

“You a young man I respect so much, and I know you would lead this state very much well, if the position of the governor falls into your hand.”
She said to him gently.

“It’s the same with me Ma, you are among the few I respect so much, because of your strive for justice.”
He said and she smiled before turning serious.

“Do you know the reason I aspired for the gubernatorial seat?”.
She asked rhetorically .
Jeff nodded negatively.

“My only son told me this.”
She said looking at him.
“He said mama the best you can be in a foreign land is a glorified refugee. The system of education is so bad and that has made many aspire overseas and I ain’t an exception.”
But my son insisted that he would love to come back to his motherland. He was among the few who believed that his home of origination can still be amended not minding the corrupt practices.”
She said as her eyes turned red with clouded tears as she began to sob and continued.
“Last four years, he came back to Nigeria for his NYSC to serve his so called home of origin in the northern part of the country and he was burnt to death in his apartment during one of the popular riots in the north as they burnt down the apartment he was sleeping on. I couldn’t even see the corpse of my son to bury. You should understand what it looks like for a woman married into the eastern part of the country without a son of her own.”.
She said crying profusely, While Jeff shook his head in sadness as he offered her his handkerchief, while he gently patted her back.

She looked up and glanced at him with a smile.

“I see that same spirit and foresight of my son in you, both of you have that same Ideology. but for him he ended dying for a country which never knew of his existence. I have decided to give on my desire to aspire for the governorsh¡p seat. I will give you my full support, as you run for the seat. I believe you would make a better leader than I can. you are the states future.”
She said smiling through her tears, while Jeff was fully taken aback when he heard her giving up on her aspirations. He silently nodded in thanks and smiled gently.

As the both of them came out the reporters rushed forward to ask them various questions on what they discussed.

“Mrs. Caroline can you please give us a hint on what the palour discussion was on?”
A reporter asked her.
“Well.” She said smiling exuding incomparable charm.
“I have finally decided to give up on the post of the governorsh¡p aspirants and I’m placing my wh0le support on Mr. Jeff Linus and I urge the citizens to equally do the same. I’m supporting him with 50 million Naira.”.
She said smiling, the reporters were drawn aback by her reply.
“Ma what’s your reason for that?”
They asked.
“No comments.”
She said and her bodyguards began pushing away the crowd making way for her to pass..

The seven chiefs sat on their normal position at the sitting room as they had ugly expressions on their faces. When they saw the report at the broadcast about her quitting and throwing her full support on Mr. Jeff Linus.

“This is becoming a little troublesome.”
Mr. Edeth mumbled as he watched on the TV, as various pictures of both were shown.

“We really need to take action. Before this young man escalate out of our country.”
Mr. Fox said gently as his expression remained unchanged.

“Well we have to give the young man a path of retreat first and let’s hear what he has to say, before we go for the hit hmphh!! if he insists on being stubborn, let him not blame us for being ruthless.”
A man in abada said.
They all nodded
“Prepare a secret let’s talk with the so called Jeff.”
Mr. Fox said.

Blade and Sharon could be seen on their table drinking wine.
Blade couldn’t help but have his heart steer up a little, when she saw the smiling face of Sharon as she exuded quite the desired charm.
“What would it cost to have you a little more closer to me?”
Blade stared at her with a smile as he asked.
