Tina’s Pov:
We walked into the ward.
Iris was lying lifelessly on the bed.
Tears welled down my chubby cheeks.
“Iris! Please get up already” I wailed bitterly
“Tina stop crying… She will get better soon” Aunt Glenda said in tears.
“Yes Tina! Your sister is a fighter” Chris said.
“I can’t live without her.. I don’t think I can stay without Iris! She’s my everything” I cried
“She’s not going anywhere Tina! She’s here all the time” Glenda said.
“Get up Iris! You said you wanted vegetable sauce right? I prepared it! That’s your favorite sister please wake up!” I cried
“That’s enough Tina please” Chris said in tears.
“Who are you to my sister Mr Christopher? Why would she take a bullet for you?” I asked
“Uhmm… I know this is all my fault I…” Chris said
“That doesn’t answer my question! I said who are you to my sister?” I asked
“Actually am her stalke…” Chris said
“He’s her boyfriend” Aunt Glenda said as she exchanged glances with Chris.
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
“So my sister has a boyfriend? How come I don’t know about it?” I thought

“Tina! Tina!! Wake up!!” Aunt Glenda shook me gently.
I quickly opened my eyes.
I glanced at the wall clock…
It was already past two pm, I yawned hungrily.
I haven’t had anything to eat since morning.
I’ve been sitting here close to Iris and watching her motionless.
I wish she could just open her eyes and let’s go home.
But she’s in a coma 😭
“Come on Tina! Let’s go get something to eat at the cafeteria” Aunt Glenda said smacking me back to consciousness.
“Am not going to leave her side! Am not hungry” I lied
“Oh please Tina! Just get up.. I know you are hungry” aunt Glenda said as she dragged me up and we walked out of the ward.
Chris’s Pov:
I watched Iris lie on the bed lifelessly and tears rushed down my cheeks.
I don’t know that I could cry because of a woman.
I never knew what it means to fall in love until I met you Iris.
And now that am supposed to be happy with you, this had to happen.
But why?
She saved me!
She took a bullet for me to live.
After all the problems I caused her.
She still wants me to live.
She was kind enough to think my welfare..
She never hated or abhor me.
Oh my dearest Iris! Please wake up….
No matter what Iris! I will always be by your side cos you worth it.

I rubbed my eyes tiredly.
It was already late.
Darkness enveloped the earth but I didn’t leave the hospital.
Glenda walked in alone without Tina.
“Uhm… Chris! Tina and I have to go home, she has classes tomorrow” Glenda said
“That’s OK” I said
“You know you haven’t told me how my friend was shot?” Glenda said
“Yeah! But believe me Glenda I don’t even know who wanted to have me shot and why… It’s still a misery to me” I said
“We’ll talk about it later so that Tina won’t hear of it and please continue playing along as Iris’s boyfriend for the meantime” Glenda said
“I wish I am really her boyfriend” I thought
“Alright Glenda!” I said
“And you’re not going right?” Glenda asked
“No! I want to be here when she’ll get up” I said and we laughed.
“Aunt Glenda! Please I don’t wanna go home without Iris! I’ll sleep here” Tina said as she walked into the ward.
“No Tina! You have to go to school tomorrow and you know your sister Iris will be mad if you don’t” Glenda said
“Please aunt Glenda I don’t….” Tina said as I smiled at her stubbornness.
“Surely stubbornness runs in their blood! Iris is so stubborn too” I thought
“No way Tina! We are going home” Glenda said as she dragged her away.
“Good night Tina” I said as she waved at me with a smile.
I pecked Iris’s cheek softly.
Cassandra’s Pov:
I gulped down the glass of whiskey.
“You idiot! I never told you to shoot Chris, I said you should abduct him” I yelled as I landed a dirty slap on Jack’s face.
“Am sorry ma’am but it wasn’t even Chris that we shot” He said
“Then who?” I asked angrily
“His girlfriend….” Jack said and I burst into laughter.
“Girlfriend? The Chris I know doesn’t have a girlfriend cos he’s a playboy” I said
“But he was on a date with her and she took the bullet for him” Jack said and my eyes w¡dened in shock. This story is written by Pinky Preshy Chioma.

TWO WEEKS LATER….
Tina’s Pov:
I watched Iris lie lifelessly on the hospital bed.
Tears welled down my chubby cheeks.
It’s been two weeks already and Iris is not yet awake.
The doctor said she’s alright but they actually don’t know when she will wake up.
For the past two weeks I felt so lonely knowing fully well that am just all alone in this wicked world.
And all thanks to my sister’s boyfriend Chris Ramirez.
He has been so nice….
“Iris… Please get up already! I miss you sister” I sniffed as I picked up my handkerchief to wipe my face.
Suddenly, I saw her fingers shake.
I gulped nervously…
“Iris! Iris!!” I called as my hope became renewed but she didn’t open her eyes.
I burst into tears again.
“Tii…na….” a weak voice said as I turned to my greatest surprise, Iris was awake.
“Iris…. Iris… Sister…” I called in excitement.
“Tina…” She managed to say.
“Doctor! Doctor… She’s awake..” I shouted as I stormed out of the ward.

We were super excited.
I sat close to Iris’s bed smiling like never before.
“You got me so scared Iris… I thought I was gonna lose you” I pouted my mouth.
“Of course I will never leave you Tina” She smiled
“You know girl… I missed that smile” Glenda laughed
“I miss you too Glenda” Iris chuckled
“What about you Mr Chris? Don’t you miss your girlfriend?” I joked as Chris who has been quiet gulped.
“Girlfriend?” Iris asked as she furrowed her brows in confusion.
“Errmm… Oh Tina! Why are you being so naughty? Of course they are a couple and they are ought to miss each other” Glenda said and I laughed.
Iris’s Pov:
I became very confused as I kept staring at Chris and Glenda with a questioning look.
“Me? Girlfriend? Chris? Did it happen in my dreams…” I scratched my head.
“Sister am so happy for you… At last you got a boyfriend and don’t forget I can’t wait to see your wedding day” Tina said childishly
I forced a smile.
“What the hell is Tina and Glenda talking about? Why is Chris not saying anything?” I thought
“Uhmm… Tina don’t you think your sister might need water? Come on go buy her a bottle of water” Glenda said.
“That’s right.. I will be right back sis” Tina said happily as she rushed out of the ward.
I glared at Chris and Glenda.
“Why are you looking at me?” Glenda asked as I rolled my eyes.
“What was that for?” I asked anxiously
“You see Iris… We did that so that your sister won’t find out the kind of work you do” Chris said as I exhaled deeply.
“It’s for your own good Iris” Glenda smiled at me.
“Thank you guys” I said as we smiled.
“No Iris…i am the one who should be saying thank you… You saved my life” Chris said
“That’s all gone now Chris.. Life moves on” I said
“No… I will forever be indebted to you Iris… Thank you so much” Chris said as he hugged me.
My eye w¡dened in shock.
But I hugged him too…
I wonder why I suddenly have a soft s₱0t for him?
Chris’s Pov:
I smiled absentmindedly at nothing.
“Hey dude! Are you OK?” Jerry asked as I laughed excitedly.
“Am really excited man” I said
“For the first time in many months, my guy is really very happy… What’s up?” Jerry asked
“She’s awake now..” I smiled
“Wow… Thank goodness! So why do you like you are getting married?” Jerry teased me.
“You don’t understand Jerry… Am so happy” I said
Just then, Jerry’s cell phone rang aloud.
“Excuse me!” Jerry said as he picked up his call.
📲Hello….. You got the bitch? (Jerry giggles) I will be right there 📲
📲I can’t wait to fvck that big ass slut 📲 Jerry said and hung up smiling.
“Dude… Do you have any bitch for tonight?” Jerry asked as my face countenance changed.
“No I don’t” I said
“What? Don’t you have any? Should I get one for you?” Jerry asked
“Am not interested Jerry” I said as he burst into laughter.
“What? You? The Christopher Ramirez I know?” Jerry laughed
“Laugh for all I care… I just said am not interested” I said sipping my drink.
“You are not serious are you?” Jerry scoffed
“It’s high time I live a better life” I said
“Gosh! I can’t believe you are the one saying this Chris” Jerry shook his head.
Iris’s Pov:
I was lying on the bed as Glenda prepared a cup of tea for me.
She handed it to me.
I stirred it and blew air into it… it was piping hot 🌪🌪
“When am I going to be discharged?” I asked
“This weekend I suppose… Thank goodness you are well again” Glenda said
I smiled broadly as i sipped my tea gradually.
“So tell me Iris, how do you think of Chris now?” Glenda asked as I gulped nervously.
“He’s nice” I managed to say
“He sure is… He footed the bills” Glenda said as I nodded.
“Is that why you took a bullet for him?” Glenda asked as I choked.
I coughed slightly.
“Uhmm.. Glenda can you get me a bottle of juice please?” I said trying to change the topic.
“Juice? When you are drinking tea?” Glenda rolled her eyes.
“Ooh..” I managed to say
“That doesn’t answer my question Iris, Was that why you took a bullet for him? Was that why you nearly died?” Glenda asked
“I did it because I love him and….” I said as I quickly covered my mouth with my palms.
Glenda gasped… 😲
“YOU LOVE WHO?” Chris asked as he entered the ward…..
