πŸ’˜ chapter 4πŸ’˜

I came down and looked in front of me at the luxurious glasshouse. I tried not to gape at the building as we went in,side.

Everything in,side looked expensive and in order, I could see my reflection from the sparkly floor.
An exquisite interior that one could stare at for hours.
I was in a bad mood so I didn’t bother looking around.

I took a seat and stared at the large screen TV, I still felt sad and angry even if talking with Belvina eased some of it.

I felt so broken, all it took was a lie in church for my life to take another turn.
I still couldn’t believe my parents kicked me out, cut me off and my sister denied me.

I took off my shoes and leaned back on the seat.

“Your suitcases are in your room, would you like something to drink?”

“No.”
I wanted to know his real job here but I decided when I was less frustrated I’d ask.

“Where is he?”

“He’s out with a friend.”
So he was hanging out with his friend while I suffer the effect of his lies.

“Morris.”

“Yes, Miss Simpson.”

“Please call me, Chloe.”

“I don’t think I can do that, Miss.”
I didn’t have time to argue, I will deal with that later.

“What does your boss treasure most in this house?”

“The paintings on each wall, they’re very expensive and mean a lot to him and his achievements like awards from around the world.”

“Could you bring them all here?”

“Sorry?”

“I want all the paintings and awards here, now.”
He waited for some time and left.

“You messed with the things I treasured most, I will mess with yours.”
I knew I couldn’t compare both but I needed to cool off and smashing those paintings and awards seemed like a good solution.

I stood up when he was done gathering everything, I smashed each painting to pieces.

I smashed the awards on the glass table breaking it in the process. I broke more things as I recalled what happened in the church and at home.

The place was a mess when I was done and I was panting from the work.

I slumped on the couch and looked at Morris, he looked horrified. He reached for his phone and made a call.

Just what I needed.

I stared blankly at what I had done and to be honest I wasn’t satisfied.
I heard footsteps, it sounded like whoever it was was running.

“Well, that was quick.”
I said as Tristan appeared, his hair was tousled at the top and he was still in his wedding suit but the jacket was gone only the white button-up long sleeve that still had sharp creases. A handsome being stood behind him, that must be the friend he was out with.

He was tall like Tristan and his dark hair contrasted with his grey eyes, he reminded me of a s-Γ—y male model I once had a crush on.

“Shit!”
His jaw dropped when he saw the mess I made, I was impressed.

Tristan looked like he just saw a ghost, his l-ips parted slowly in confusion then closed back like he didn’t know what to say.

He ran his hand down his face with a low growl, his eyes darted to my direction.

“What did you do?”
Was he blind?

“Well, I was fuming in rage when I got here and I needed to cool off so I came across these ugly paintings and the awards, and you know the rest.”
I flashed him a fake smile.

“Ugly?”
He cocked a brow at me and stared at me like I was too dumb to differentiate between beans and pebbles.

“Do you know how valuable each of those paintings was?”
I stood up and took slow steps toward him.

“Valuable?”
I was on the verge of exploding, I felt something pierce my foot but I ignored it and moved closer.

“Are you comparing my life to that piece of crap?”
I didn’t want to feel intimated by his height so I maintained a safe distance between us.

“You went overboard!”

“You were the one that went overboard Tristan, you took your lie too far!”

Wow, I was yelling at someone ten years older than me, I never saw this day coming.

“I have my reasons, Chloe.”
He grunted.

“What stupid reason? You destroyed my life and you’re getting mad over some lame paintings and awards?”
I saw his jaw hærdened, man, they were sharp.

“I want my life back, you have to fix this!”
He was quiet but he was staring at me like he was thinking of ways to murder me.

“I don’t care about your reasons. I am not interested, I want my family back, I want my boyfriend back!!”
I s’ræmed the last part.

“I can’t, not now,” he said in a calm tone.

“Huh?”
I didn’t care about his height anymore, I stepped closer.

“You can’t?” I laughed shaking my head, this whole thing was driving me crazy.
They all looked confused as they watched me, they were probably wondering if they should call for an ambulance to shΒ‘p me to a psychiatric hospital.

“You don’t own my life, Tristan, you have no right to say whatever you want about my life!”
I poked his chest with each sentence, it was so hærd that I was scared it would fracture my finger.

“Fix this, I can’t be your puppet!”
He looked down at me with those alluring blue eyes I wished God gave someone worth it like Grey, I wasn’t implying that Grey’s eyes were ugly, I was saying it would suit him better.

“No, I will when I want to.”
He said sounding so serious.

“When you want to?”
Was this dude for real?

“You know what? I don’t care about what other people think but you’re going to tell my parents the truth.”

Even if it won’t change anything.

I rushed to get my phone, there was a slight pain beneath my foot.

“You’re bleeding.”
I heard a deep voice from behind, I was damn sure it didn’t belong to Tristan or Morris.

I looked back at his friend and he pointed at my bloody footprint, I rolled my eyes and returned to my search.
I picked my phone and returned to Tristan whose eyes were on the destroyed paintings and awards.

I could tell he was really angry but he wasn’t showing much.

“Here is my mom’s number, you can lie to everyone but I need my family back.”
I outstretched my phone to him but he was still staring at the mess.

“How did you get all the paintings and awards?”

I moved the phone closer to his face in response.

He collected it and just when a smile was about to form on my face, he threw the phone across the room.

I watched my phone shatter on the floor. I just got that phone last month!!! But I pretended not to be upset.

“Okay, good thing I have their number up here.”
I pointed to my head.

I saw his phone peeking out of his front pocket, he grabbed my hand when I reached for it.

“You can break whatever you want, however, you want. I will tell everyone the truth when the time comes, stop trying already.”
He was still calm.

I pulled my hand away and stepped back as I glared at him. He was doing this because no one would believe me, did he have magical powers?

“I need a glass of water, I will be right back.”

“I will get….”

“I will do it myself”
I almost snapped at Morris, poor Morris.

“She’s cute.”
I heard his friend say as I headed for the kitchen. I knew I was just a little girl in their eyes and only God knew what experiment they were using me for.

I tried not to admire the big kitchen as I opened the cabinets. I was greeted with fine china plates.

I started dropping each on the floor breaking it, I dropped more and opened the next cabinet.

He said I could break whatever I wanted, he would watch me destroy this beautiful house of his.

Morris was the first to run into the kitchen then Tristan’s friend.

“Hey.”
Tristan’s friend called coming closer but I threw more breakable things on the floor, pretending not to hear him.

“Chloe, stop.”
I was going to show them they chose the wrong girl.

“That bastard thinks he can mess with my life.”
I kept stepping on each piece as I walked, my feet had deep cuts already but I wasn’t concerned about that right now.

“Chloe.”
He was starting to annoy me, I stopped myself from throwing the plates in my hand at him.

I backed him as I searched the next cabinet, I knew how expensive they were and even if it meant nothing to him, at one point he would get frustrated.

The next cabinet greeted me with beautiful sets of cups, it looked unique and kinda vintage.

“Don’t even think about it.”
I heard Tristan’s voice, he finally showed up.
I picked the set and faced him.

“Chloe, drop those cups please.”
His friend pleaded.

What was so special about the cups anyway. Morris was giving me a signal to leave the cups.

“Go ahead and break anything else but not those cups.”
I sensed something in his voice and he was begging me with his eyes.

Why didn’t Morris mention the cups, if breaking these cups was going to hurt him then I’d gladly destroy it.

“My life is more precious than these cups.”
I said and let go, I gasped in fake surprise.

“Oops!”
I said dramatically.
