๐ŸŒน Chapter Twenty: it would never work ๐ŸŒน

Meena’s standpoint

The girls and I were having our make-up done for the concert which was in few minutes. We were more excited about how everything would turn out. Yuki made her make-up artists do Sakura’s and stubborn Rosita’s makeup. We wanted her to wear something more revealing, but she declined, saying she already had a fashion designer. She said her friend would be offended if she wore anything she didn’t pick out for her.

Rosita wore a light brown camel top, snake print mini skirt, lace up block heels and a brown saddle bag. It was simple, too simple, but the way the top and short skirt clung to her body, wasn’t so simple. The heels also made my legs more sโ‚ฌร—ier, especially with the way the lace wrapped up to her mid calves. She convinced us that we should let her dress simple so she can kill it at the pool party, so we let her. Her makeup was simple but since it was the first time seeing her in makeup, it made her look good. And then those cute snake printed almond shaped glasses.

Sakura wore a black blazer layered over a white tee tucked into a black leather short skirt, and completed with cow print cowboy boots. It was the hottest I had seen her… Well, I mostly see her with uniforms but you get the point. We were all excited about bringing them back together.

“The guys are coming to wish us good luck in five minutes,” I said as I read Odin’s text. I looked up at them with a grin. Rosita sighed and ran her hand over her face.

“Meena, you are fully aware that Zed and I weren’t a thing, right? We have never been a thing,” I wasn’t going to listen because she was lying. Rosita was only trying to act tough, but I could see that she really loved Zed and Zed loved her. They dated in the past, broke up over something she isn’t telling us, without getting to have sโ‚ฌร—. That was why the sโ‚ฌร—ual tension between them was high. They needed to sort it out.

“Don’t worry, he is going to be here to admire you soon,” I said certainly. She sighed and sank into the chair, a tired look on her face.

“I did not expect this when I came to Japan, not one bit. Finding mom, knowing the truth, going to school, meeting him, everything. And now, I have friends who have a giant wood in all their ears!” She shot us all a dirty look. We giggled.

“Rosita-chan, you can’t break us, can’t sway us. Even if you don’t admit it, we would admit it for you,” Moca said determinedly. We all nodded. That’s what friends are for.

“Why do you even bother?” Sakura chuckled, “you don’t see me bothering again, do you?”

Rosita grimaced, “that’s because you actually dated and slept with the guy in question. You still love him as he loves you. I don’t even like Zedekiah! You all should cut this crap out!” She shouted exasperatedly. “And he doesn’t like me, we hate each other. When would anyone ever understand that? Tell me, did our parents bribe you all? How much? Tell me and I’ll double the payment.” She said seriously.

“We just know you and Zed-senpai are meant to be together,” I sighed dreamily, picturing them k-ssing, “meant to be forever. He is your moonlight as you are his zodiac, his starlight…”

“His Evangeline!” Sarah shrieked. We squealed too. Rosita palmed her face and gro-ned.

“Don’t worry, I’m sure he would forget about the breakup by the time he starts seeing you in other sโ‚ฌร—y clothes, you know, not uniforms. He’ll be over the breakup in no time!” I shouted certainly.

“For the umpteenth time, we didn’t date!” She scre-med.

“Rosita-chan need to calm down,” Sachie said with a click of her tongue, “we know it’s not easy handling the pressure of not being in his arms, especially with how sโ‚ฌร—y he is. But you should remember that your friends are working on how to get you two back together…”

“For heaven’s sake! We didn’t date! How many time would I scre-m that?!”

“You don’t have to lie to us, Rosita-chan,” Moca said softly, “we already know the truth,” Rosita face palmed herself again while Sakura start to laugh. We weren’t troubling her because she was a good girl and agreed to everything we said. The door opened and the guys walked in, all trying to hide their laughing smile.

They heard everything. Good, very good.

On default, all our eyes fell on Zed to watch his reaction when he sees Rosita. His eyes instantly swept around and landed on her. I got my camera ready to catch his first expression. His l-ips slightly parted, along with Cedric’s and Alvin’s. Rosita was sitting slouched, but her left th-gh was crossed over her right, and the mini skirt did it job of showing off the sโ‚ฌร—y flesh. I quickly took the picture, causing us all to giggle.

Zed snapped out of it and quickly looked away, that was when he noticed us all staring. “Jesus! You girls are creeps!” He exclaimed. Rosita dropped her hand from her face to show her unimpressed look.

“I’m a girl, that’s an insult,”

“Exactly,” he said coldly.

“What he meant was ‘f-ck, you are so hot, woman’!” Darra shouted. “Where have you been all my life?” Zed reached his hand out to smack his head, but he quickly hid behind laughing Odin.

Rosita rolled her eyes to Cedric and Alvin who were still gaping and smirked. “Can someone shove a fly into Cedric’s mouth and c*ckroach into Alvin’s?”

Alvin closed his mouth and nodded like a fool. I took a picture of Isaac staring intensely at squirming Sakura. The pictures were for Yuki. Everything was going as planned, much to our expectations.

“Baby, is it me or do you look like my next girlfriend?” Cedric blunted out. Zed palmed his face while Odin and Darra laughed more.

“She can’t be your next girlfriend, she is already my wife…”

“No way! There is no way I’m dragging her with you. Alvin, this one is mine.”

“No, she’s mine! Leave some women for us, Cedric, for me! You can’t always take all the hot ones!”

“Yes, I can,”

“Then I’ll fight you with my last drop of blood until she becomes mine!”

“But she belongs to Zed-senpai,” Titi said shyly. Zed shot her a dirty look.

“Sorry, Zed, but now I’m going to be competing with you for her heart,” Cedric said with a shrug, but he was serious, “she is way too hot to let go.”

“That makes two of us,”

Wow, she hasn’t even worn the bikini yet.

“Wow, it’s like I’m invisible,” Rosita with with mock bewilderment. Zed waved dismissively and walked out to dream about her.

“It worked! Zed-senpai is officially in love!” Sarah shouted. We are broke into a loud cheerful shriek while the guys watched us… Well, Darra was shrieking and jumping too. Rosita just shook her head.

“Hello, everyone!” Yuki’s voice came from the speakers. The loud scre-m from the crowd felt like it shook the building.

“Wait, is that Yuki?” Darra gasped.

“Surprise!” We shouted. Darra squealed and off he went.

“Darra! Stay three feet away from my sister and keep your dirty mouth off her clean one!” Odin shouted as he rushed after him.

“Well, good luck, girls,” Isaac murmured before he left too, literally dragging Alvin and Cedric along. The moment the door slammed shut, I stood up and clapped.

“Phase one,”

“Mission accomplished!” Everyone shouted. Our make-up artists just watched in amusement.

“I’m surrounded by idiots,” Rosita said.

Zedekiah’s standpoint

You will not react when you see her.

You will not react when you see her.

You are going to let Rosita go.

You don’t love her, you just like her and like can be deleted.

When you see her, don’t react.

I chanted those words to myself as we walked to Lucky Seven’s dressing room. I decided to let her go, it wouldn’t work out. Rosita might not hate me but she doesn’t love me. I couldn’t bring myself to try and win her heart, it didn’t matter. What mattered was me letting go, moving on.

“Zedekiah!” I halted along with the others. I turned to my side to see Sora running towards us. She stopped running when she got to me and p-nted a little. “Geez! You guys walk very fast!”

“Sora, what are you doing here?” Odin asked coldly.

“I’m a Gempire idol, don’t I have the right to be here? I came here to support you guys and to also apologise,” she said with a sheepish blush.

“For what?”

“First, to Darra, for everything I did to him. Darra, I didn’t mean to, I didn’t do it on purpose, I’m sorry,” it was the first time she was actually apologising.

“I know,” he shrugged, “but Yuki is the one that needs that apology,”

“And I will when I see her,” she promised. She turned to Odin, “please, forgive me, for ruining our relationshยกp with my bad behaviour. I want to admit here that I dated you to get to Zed,” she murmured shyly, “I’m sorry for what I did,”

Me?

“I don’t owe either of you any apology,” she said to the others, “but sorry if I ever did anything to offend you, Isaac,”

“If you want me to forgive you, leave Sugimoto Sakura alone,” he growled out. Her eyes wยกdened for a brief second before she lowered it and nodded. She turned her attention back to me.

“Zed-kun, please, if you’ll give me a chance to prove that I can change for you, I can be a good person. I really, really like you and I…”

“Okay,” I cut her off without thinking, “I’ll call you to inform you of where we should meet for our first date…”

“Eh!” They all exclaimed. I rolled my eyes at myself. I didn’t know what I was doing. But to get over someone, you need another, right?

“Zed, are you sick?”

“I’m serious, I want to try this dating thing with her and see where it would go. Sora, I’m not promising you that I would date you or even telling you that I feel anything for you, just want to try it. But one date, and if I get nothing, then we are done. You understand?”

She nodded with tears in her eyes, hopeful tears. “Yes, yes, thank you, thank you,” Odin grabbed me by the arm and pulled me along.

“What do you think you are doing?” Isaac whispered yelled, “Sora, really?”

“Even I know that she is bad girlfriend material,” Cedric murmured.

“I haven’t had sโ‚ฌร— in a year, sue me,” I said with a shrug.

“And Sora is your best option? Zed, you will get her hopes up and then ruin things for yourself. Zedekiah, this is not the way to solve a problem, trust me when I say this, experience taught me that!”

“Unlike you, Odin, I don’t want her,” I spat. He sighed exasperatedly and rubbed his face with his palm.

“Let’s talk about this later,”

“Please, don’t date her,” Cedric pleaded, “she’s not good for you,” something about the tone he used was suspicious.

“Cedric, have you been sleeping with that person?” I asked suspiciously. We were now at the dressing room door, facing each other.

“I haven’t been, but I have,”

“Zed, we are going to have a talk,” Odin said authoritatively. I was about to snap when I heard Rosita yell.

“I don’t even like Zedekiah! You all should cut this crap out!” My heart skipped. “And he doesn’t like me, we hate each other. When would anyone ever understand that? Tell me, did our parents bribe you all? How much? Tell me and I’ll double the payment.”

I don’t hate you, I wish I do.

“We just know you and Zed-senpai are meant to be together,” Meena sighed dreamily, “meant to be forever. He is your moonlight as you are his zodiac, his starlight…”

“His Evangeline!” Another shouted, then they squealed too. Everyone is always wanting us to be together, always say we are good for each other.

Why is it always like that?

Why must it always be like that?

Is it that we really are meant to be? Or is this destiny trying to convince us to make a mistake?

Will Rosita ever open her heart to me?

Would she see me the way I’m suddenly seeing her?

Would she even appreciate it?

Or would she run away?

More questions disturbed my mind and it being left unanswered left me in confusion and anxiety. I didn’t want to make a mistake, I didn’t want to regret anything. Everything changed so fast, and it was scaring me.

“For heaven’s sake! We didn’t date! How many time would I scre-m that?!” Her frustrated scre-m caught my attention again. The guys were laughing, but I wasn’t finding it amusing. She didn’t like me, she didn’t want me. The thought of being with me irritated her, annoyed her, frustrated her.

How could I make a move on someone who don’t want me? How do you mend what have been broken?

“You don’t have to lie to us, Rosita-chan,” another said softly, as if picking her words carefully, “we already know the truth,” they thought we dated but broke up, they thought we needed to be together. Odin pushed the door open and they walked in first, me following like a puppet.

My eyes scanned for her against my will. The moment they found what they were looking for, my brain shut down. I had seen Rosita in a lot of outfits since she don’t have any particular style, so the outfit wasn’t what made my l-ips part, her legs were. It was easier ignoring her when she was on school uniform and wearing stockings most times, easier when my desire was clouded by hate. Now it was gone, everything I’d felt subconsciously, pictured subconsciously and buried in my subconscious, was out in the front. She was breathtaking, she always was and always would be.

I snapped out of it by a flash of light, followed by giggles. I quickly averted my eyes from her thighs, glad she had her palm over her face or I would never hear the end of it. I almost flinched when I realised Lucky Seven was looking at me with wide expectant eyes and happy grins. “Jesus! You girls are creeps!” I shouted. Imagine what they must have done to my poor Rosita.

Urgh! Zedekiah!

I looked at her in time to see her drop her hand from her face, revealing her unimpressed look.

“I’m a girl, that’s an insult,”

“Exactly,”

If you weren’t a girl, I wouldn’t be feeling this way.

“What he meant was ‘f-ck, you are so hot, woman’!” Darra shouted. “Where have you been all my life?” I snapped my head to his direction and stretched my hand out to knock the back of his head, but he squeaked and hid behind Odin, who was laughing by the way!

“Can someone shove a fly into Cedric’s mouth and c*ckroach into Alvin’s?” I averted my eyes back to her to see her smirking. I turned my gaze to the idiots drooling over the simplest thing. They hadn’t even see her in a towel. I have, and the memory was suddenly torturous.

Alvin closed his mouth and nodded like a fool.

“Baby, is it me or do you look like my next girlfriend?” Cedric blunted out. I palmed my face, not just because he said something like he would, but because this meant he was officially interested in my… No, not my… Not anything!

“She can’t be your next girlfriend, she is already my wife…”

No, not Alvin too!

“No way! There is no way I’m dragging her with you. Alvin, this one is mine.”

“No, she’s mine! Leave some women for us, Cedric, for me! You can’t always take all the hot ones!”

“Yes, I can,”

You can’t, Rosita would never look at either of you. But sadly, nor me.

“Then I’ll fight you with my last drop of blood until she becomes mine!”

Great, this is happening.

“But she belongs to Zed-senpai,” I raised my head up and sent a dirty glare to the shy girl who said it.

She is not mine, and I am not hers.

“Sorry, Zed, but now I’m going to be competing with you for her heart,” Cedric declared. I knew this would happen the moment their l-ips parted. I couldn’t do it, I couldn’t fight for someone’s heart. “She is way too hot to let go.”

“That makes two of us,”

She would never feel the same way for either of them or even me. She don’t want us to be together, well, so do I.

“Wow, it’s like I’m invisible,” Rosita finally spoke. I gave a dismissive wave and exited.

This won’t work. This won’t ever work.

“It worked! Zed-senpai is officially in love!” A cheerful and loud shriek accompanied that.

But they were wrong, it would never work, and I will make sure of that.

Sora’s standpoint

It worked!

It freaking worked!

Rita suggested I just apologise and play the repent girl card to see if it would work and it did. Zedekiah just agreed to date me, just like that. Okay, he made it clear that it’s a trial, but that was something because he had never looked at me. I freaked out when I found out Meena and her friends were going to bring them together, and Yuki was back and ready to help them. I couldn’t let that happen, I had to try. Even if I knew he didn’t like me, it would give me an advantage to keep Rosita away.

I’ve lost Odin to Meena, but I won’t lose Zed to a nobody.

“I honestly think this is a bad idea,” Sally said again, “I know you want him, but he is clearly using you to get over someone, or just want sโ‚ฌร—,”

“I know, but either way, I get what I want,”

“You’ll only get hurt,” Mimi said harshly, “again, move on!”

“Mimi, I’ve told you, mind your business,” I snapped.

“What do you plan on doing?” Rita asked as she watched Lucky Seven singing and dancing on stage with Yuki doing a funny cheer in her cheerleader uniform.

“That one date is all I need. All I need is to just sleep with him once, and I’ll get the photos of us together or better, video,”

Mimi gasped, “you want to blackmail him,”

“Isn’t that going too far? What if he doesn’t buy it? Would you upload it?”

“I’m not going to blackmail him,” I smirked, “I’m just going to secretly forward it to her, so she would remove her mind,”

“And if she uploads it?”

“She won’t. I might not know her, but I know she is not that cruel. That’s what I’ll do.”

“It’s a dangerous plan!” Rita shouted in protest.

“I’m ready to try it,”
