๐ŸŒน Chapter Seven: like lightning and thunder ๐ŸŒน

๐ŸŒน Rosita’s standpoint ๐ŸŒน

I pulled my boot on, leg high on the table in my house. It was late into the night, I snuck out after making sure I light a candle which scent would put everyone to a deep sleep until I snuff it out. I tied the lace of the boot and dropped my leg. I picked the set of knives on the table and started sheathing them in their right places. Once done, I wore my hรฆrd metal rosy bracelets. There were three, the dark blue filled with paralysing dart, the army green for sleeping and the red for toxic.

After that, I pulled my gold hair into my net cap and wore my protective helmet. The glasses slid across my face and covered my eyes and face. With some roses here and there, I was ready to start my mission for the night.

“Romi, police report,”

“They are aware you are here but it is too early to start to panic. The second kill will definitely raise their panic so you must be extra careful after this and make sure we don’t kill at any particular pattern or we would be found out like last time.”

“Yeah, go random crazy,” I smirked, “any message from my father?”

“You won’t like the email,” she said chucklingly. I squirted.

“What is it?”

“I’m warning you,” she singsonged.

“Just tell me,”

“Hey, Princess, it’s me, Daddy Bear,” I rolled my eyes at his childishness, “hope your mission is going well? Remember to stay low and take your time, as long as you want so you won’t be caught. I know, I know, I shouldn’t be teaching you your job, but I’m your dad, it’s my job to worry. So, the main reason for this email is to tell you that since you are in Japan, why don’t you go stay at Zed’s? I’m sure his mother would be happy to have you over. Princess, maybe before you leave Japan, you can finally lose that V-rginity of yours. But remember, if not Zed, no one else.”

“Ugh! Dad,” I cried.

“There’s more. My Princess, in case you end up deciding to, use protection. I know some pretty good quality c-ndoms that won’t break in case Zed is a rough pounder. Also, I have been doing research on good pills you can use…”

“Stop it, stop it,” I whimpered. “Reply him, tell him to go screw a butchering machine. I am not sleeping or dating Zed!”

“You sure about that, honey?”

“Okay, come out here so I can kill you,” she burst into laughter. I rolled my eyes. “Let’s just get this over with.” I walked out to the balcony.

“Turning on hover-boots in 5, 4, 3, 2…”

_______________

I jumped on the rail of the balcony of the house. I jumped down and crouched as the search light pass. I waited until the light pass before crawling into the house through the open French door. I walked into the man’s office and paused.

“Run scan and find me what I’m looking for,” Romi activated the scan. The little box icon searched the entire office through my glass goggle. My job was to move around so the search would reach everywhere. The box zoomed in on a portrait and blinked red.

“Found.” I walked closer to the portrait.

I pulled the portrait down and gently dropped it on the floor. “Run X-ray scan,” the goggle turned red. There was a safe behind the thin wall. I removed my laser pen, shook it and pressed the button at the bottom. The red beam zapped into the wall with fury. I trailed the powerful beam along the wall, forming a square bigger than the safe.

Once done, I put the pen back in my pocket, dug my nails into the clean cut and carefully take it out. I dropped the wall on the floor quietly. The safe was a olden days kind, one hacking wouldn’t do much good. I removed one of the closed vile from my belt, broke the head and smashed it on the safe. The toxic chemical immediately ate into the safe, like a severe case of virus.

“Warning, security has detected the glitch in the CCTV that I placed. Your presence would be detected in one minute.”

“Set off this room alarm,” I smirked.

“Why?” She asked worriedly.

“Trust me,” I took what I needed, shoved it into my backpack and removed the bouquet of metal explosive roses. I threw it into different directions, one after the other until there was none left. I heard footsteps coming. I ran back to the balcony, jumped back on the rail and leapt into the air. The boots kick start and off I dashed into the night.

~~~~~~~~~
I threw my helmet to the bot and then myself on the couch. I sighed heavily. I don’t even know why I’m stressed.
“Romi, t-rn on the TV, let me see what my handiwork,” the TV went on. I placed the heel of my left leg on my right knee and shook it.
“Someone is trying to access your file as Rosita Sugimoto,” I furrowed my brows and closed my eyes.
“Who?”
“Identity unknown, should I find out?”
“No.”
“Should I let them?”
“No. We can’t make it too easy for them,” I smirked, “let’s leave them more curious. It’s too early for anyone to find out my other fake identity. Upload a virus to any system that would try, do that for a while before frustrating them with lots and lots of passwords.”
She giggled. “With pleasure,”
“When I give the word, let them access my Fiero data file,”
“Okay.” Fiero, That name held power because the fake identity was created under Tennyson’s parents, former president of Italy. They knew what father did just like Zedekiah’s father, the three best friends. But unlike Zedekiah, the T-Brothers knew I was a heartless killer. So, to protect my identity, their father used his authority to make me his secret younger daughter who no one knows about.
When they see the last name, they tag it as normal. Only those who would want to do some extra research on the wealthy twenty one years old, would see the forged identity. But so far, only two had tried to find out and I took them out because it was better that way.
I didn’t want any link, I had few months left before father reveals me as his heir. Not the assassin, the legal empire he owns; heir to the Donahue Legacy. Then I wouldn’t have to hide my last name and reduce my killing.
“The explosion destroyed half the building, claiming the lives of Mr. Hitachi, his first son and most of his bodyguards. His wife one of the few survival of the massive explosion…” I smiled with satisfaction.
“Mission successful.” The reporter continued to talk. My main target was him and his first son, the rest weren’t my concern. I looked at my backpack. The man’s crime was against Zedekiah’s father. He was trying to create a lot of discriminating evidence against Zed’s father. Few were true, most false.
Zed father had tried to take care of it his own way, but after the man released the first evidence to a prosecutor months ago, he had to ask dad for help or Hitachi would ruin his life. There was too much at stake, too much. I waited until months after he sorted the issue. So it won’t be too suspicious. The man was going to release another one, that signed his death certificate.
If only Zed knew how I saved his reputation because the wh0le thing would have ruined him and his precious boy band to the ground. Ungrateful imp.
Zedekiah’s standpoint
I angrily slashed all the roses to death with my scissors. All roses should be destroyed, including the ones bearing the names. Rosita, gosh! I hate her.
Do you?
Don’t even think about it, subconscious, or I’ll stab you with this scissors… I threatened. Aren’t I already going mad?
Odin walked into my room and paused when he saw what I was doing. He shook his head with an amuse smile. “One of these days, the god of roses would rise and punish you,”
“Then I’ll cut his or her petal head off,”I growled. “Some friend you are, gossipping behind my back. What kind of friend are you?”
“I’m not your friend,” a smirk spread across his face, “you made that clear a lot,”
“I was joking! I was joking!”
“Yeah, that’s not how I see it,” he winked at me.
“You are choosing a woman over me? What happened to bros over b-obs?”
“We were never bros, again, you said that.”
“b-obs over bros, definitely,” Isaac said. I turned to look at him laying on my bed and going through my phone.
“Hey! How and when did you get into my room?!”
“Er… Through the door?” He gave me a look that clearly said I’m an idiot. I placed one hand on my hยกp and pointed the other at the door.
“Out,”
“Oh don’t get your p-nts w-t, I’m only here to borrow your…”
“Don’t get your p-nts twisted, don’t use w-t. Now, you are not borrowing anything from me. The last time I borrowed Alvin my pen, he used it to pick his nose!”
“No I didn’t, I used it to pick something out of my toilet, there’s a difference.” Alvin was on my sofa.
“And how did you get in?!”
“The door is open,”
“Why is everyone coming into my room?” I scre-med with frustration as I saw Cedric trying my shoes and Darra going through my album shelf.
“Oh yeah, that person, we made a bet on both of you,” Cedric grunted as he tried to pull off my boots he was wearing. “Before the end of this year, you will be dating that girl.”
“What!” I shrieked.
“My bet is that you might not date her by the end of this year, but you will surely be in love with her,” Darra spat out his nonsense.
“What… You are all mad!”
“Mad or not, the bet has been placed and I’ll surely win. Odin, don’t you want to put your bet in?”
“I go with Darra,”
“Odin!!!”
“Oh shut up,” he said with a dismissive wave, “I know even you know that you are meant to be together. You guys are like…like…like… Darra, help me out here…”
“Lightning and thunder,” Darra squealed. They burst into laughter.
“Good one, Darra,” Cedric laughed, “really good one.”
“She’s the lightning because she definitely has current and he is thunder, only knows how to shout.” They laughed h-rder while I glared murderously at them.
“Okay, out, all of you,” I snapped, threatening them with my scissors. Alvin eyed the dead petals.
“You are so falling in love,” he laughed. Isaac was quiet, just chuckling.
“Since there’s a bet, then I better drop mine. I not only bet that Zed would fall in love with her, but she will too and then he’ll be p*ssy whยกpped.” They shouted loudly at Isaac’s evil declaration.
“I’m definitely following that one,” Odin laughed.
“Sign me in too,” laughed Darra.
“Nope, I think they will do that next year because she seems like one of those girls that has a padlock over her legs, you know, like Meena…”
“Hey, hey, hey, and how did you know that?” Cedric smirked at Odin.
“I tried her one time, she almost broke my head with a bottle. I’m not joking, she almost broke my head with a bottle.”
“I thought I made it clear that neither of you dumb dumbs should make any move on Meena, Yuki and Alyssa?” Odin asked with a glare.
“But Darra is screwing Yuki,” Alvin whined, “it’s not fair.”
“Yuki and I are in love and dating,” Darra said pompously.
“Please don’t make me kill you,” Odin pleaded, “I would rather not like to know if you are sleeping with my younger sister or not. Cedric, stay away from Meena and Alvin, stop sending Alyssa your nude pictures of I’ll confiscate them and release it to a blogger. Wanna dare me?” They gulped. “Good. Isaac, mind telling us why you are mopping and putting on that completely fake smile?”
I rolled my eyes and threw the roses into the bucket of bleach. Odin is such a dad, a know it all and a big brother. I get it, you are older, doesn’t mean you should act your age.
“What? My smile isn’t fake,” Isaac defended.
“It sort of is, even I noticed it and I usually don’t even know anything,” Darra said with a shrug.
“A pauper openly said she rather fail than work with him, isn’t that enough reason to be sad? Isaac is the second sweetest amongst us so that was mean.” Alvin said.
“That little thing, I am kicking her out of the school for this. I thought leaving her as a slave would be better, but she has the guts to publicly disgrace our darling friend…”
“Don’t lay a hand on her, Cedric, not anymore. I deserve what she did and even more.” Isaac said sadly.
“Why? I think it’s her general hate for rich people,” Odin said thoughtfully. I was staring at them with a scowl, hands on my hยกps like a nagging woman.
“You all forgot what Isaac did to her two years ago,” they all turned their attention to me, “using and dumping a girl is one thing, publicly humiliating her is another,” he gasped with eyes wide. I rolled mine. “Just because I didn’t say anything doesn’t mean I didn’t notice or know what you were up to. You are a fool, Isaac, for what you did and will remain a fool.”
“What is this knucklehead talking about?” Odin asked puzzledly.
“Two years ago, Isaac denied sending Sakura on an errand, I remember that now,” Alvin said thoughtfully.
“Denied? I thought he was right,” Odin gasped.
“Oh, it was denied. Why do you think I didn’t talk to him for two months? He was mean to that innocent girl.” Darra just had to whine.
“I thought she was the one lying,” Cedric shouted, “Isaac, I’m proud of you for rejecting her but why send her in the first place? We don’t need…”
“Just leave him alone, he is facing much worse already,” I said as I gave Odin a look. Being Odin, he immediately understood. His jaw slacked as his eyes wยกdened and returned a message:
“What? She’s the she he mentioned he shattered?” I nodded. “F-ck!” He said out loud. Odin don’t swear except if he’s very pissed. “You deserve more than heartache, Isaac, you deserve more.” And with that, he angrily stomped out of my roomโ€“thank God.
“What’s with him?”
“How would I know?” Cedric asked.
“I’m going to call Yuki while eating someone’s imported cupcakes,” Darra squealed and ran off.
“Darra, stay away from my cupcakes!” Cedric shouted as he ran after him.
“I’m going to see someone, I will be back late so don’t wait up for me.”
“Nobody cares,” I scoffed. He grinned.
“I know you do,” he winked at me before walking out. “Oh, and Meena brought lemonade!” He shouted in the hallway.
“Flush it in the toilet!” Odin shouted from wherever he was. I quietly walked to the door and closed it as Alvin’s laugh filled the hallway.
“You can cry now, just don’t w-t my pillow or bedsheet or you’ll wash it with your two hands. And please, don’t lament to m…” I paused as he started crying. I sighed heavily. Love is hรฆrd.
“I hurt her so bad…”
I can swear I said no lamenting, I have roses to kill.
Or Rosita to k-ss.
You again! Get out of my head!
Make me.
“Okay, I’m going mad. Rosita always makes me like this. It’s official, it’s my destiny to destroy her.” I nodded in agreement.
I let Isaac let himself go on my bed, before putting him to sleep. Yes, I did put him to sleep on my bed and comforted him. Even though I don’t want to admit it, I’m as much of a dad like Odin is. I can’t watch them cry and not help, even if it s-cks.
My phone rang, a call from my darling mother. I answered my phone and placed it on loudspeaker, dropped it on the bed and walked over to continue bleaching the petals.
“Zeddy, guess what!”
“Oh mom, must you be so loud?”
“Rosita is in Japan!”
“Oh no,” I cried. “Please don’t do what I think you already did,”
“Oh cut your whining, I haven’t invited her to stay with us yet but I will. First, I’m going to ask her over for dinner once your father sends me her Japan line. I’m so excited! I’m already planning how the rom-ntic dinner would be…”
“Wait, backup, rom-ntic what?”
“Dinner, for you and Rosita of course. Everything must go according to plan…”
“Mother! Didn’t our trying to kill each prove anything to either of you!” I shouted with dismay.
“Oh, that? Just teenage emotions, you’ll get over it. Once I get the plans ready, I’ll call you and let you know. I was even planning to ask her father to let her stay with you and the boys…”
“No! Mother, please, don’t, I beg you.” I pleaded.
“I’m sure she won’t mind,” they don’t ever listen. It’s like a giant cotton is in their ears. “I’ll call you later, bye honey and remember to start eating well so she’ll be impress when she sees you again. Remember the last time you were thinner and shorter. Now you have all this charms, it’s sure to woo her.” I almost threw myself into the bucket of bleach so I’ll die and end my misery. She didn’t stop, she kept talking.
