Episode 27

Donald is in their bedroom all alone scrawling through his gallery, he’s taking his time going through his pictures with Alexia, it’s the first time he’s doing this and he doesn’t even know why he is…….in one of the pictures, Celine had just made two and Alexia carried her in her arms and smiles at her husband, the picture was taken by Eddy without their notice….. She looked so beautiful in the picture, just herself, no makeup or anything but she stood out……Donald finds it so hærd to get over this particular picture but his heart is beginning to act funny

“Why do I feel like this I don’t get it”

“Baby are you talking to me?” Cecilia asks from the other room across the one where they keep their shoes and clothes, she comes back to Donald in the room

“Are you talking to me?”

“Naaaa” he shakes his head and gets up

“Where are you going” she asks

“My head feels like it’s gonna burst I need fresh air” Cecilia is confused

“Why would your head feel that way”

“Work stuff….you know, too many things in the office”

“I know what you need to clear your head” she tries k-ssing him but he doesn’t let her

“I’ll be back”

“Where are you going”

“I told you I need fresh air” he scre-ms at her and she coils

“I’m sorry” he says

“I’ll just order dinner” she says

“For yourself…. I’m not eating” he walks out of the room and calls Richærd on his way out to his car

“Baby” Linda Richærd’s wife calls him as she brings his phone to the room

“You left your phone and it’s ringing”

“Who is calling”

“Donald”

“Hmmmm….thanks” he takes the phone from her and k-sses her before picking the call, Linda walks out of the room

“Donald”

“Rich where are you”

“I’m home, at this time where else would I be”

“I thought as much”

“You don’t sound yourself I hope all Is well in the palace of the beautiful Queen”

“There is no need to be sarcastic with me OK cut that tone”

“It’s good that you know me my friend, I don’t hide how I feel about you and your current situation and I won’t get tired”

“Can I meet up with you, I really need to talk to someone before I burst” Richærd checks his watch

“It’s coming to 7pm”

“I won’t take up much of your time….meet me up at our usual place”

“I don’t know why I should buy it’s alright I’m coming” he gets up grabs his car keys and walks out of the room

“Where are you going to” Linda asks

“I’ll be back soon”

Alexia is failing to catch her breath at this moment, it’s like she heard wrong what Liam said, she wants to ask him again but she just can’t find her voice so she just looks at him, Liam walks closer and holds her hands tightly

“Did you not hear me? I said I love you Ale” he now says like he wants her to understand him

“How can you say you love me Liam? She asks but before he could answer she talks

“You don’t love me”

“Why do you say that? Why do you doubt me?” He asks

“I don’t know”

” How can I explain to you Ale that I love you….I’m not good with verses” she removes her hands from his and walks back to her bed, she sits down and holds her head

“Jeeez Liam…. How can you joke about something like this” he walks back to her and sits down too but this time on the bed

“My heart says it…..my mind won’t just let me, I want to stay in your memory, to know you a little more….that’s all it tells me”

“But you already know me, as a friend”

“I told you Earlier, I told you I see something, I see greatness in everything you’re headed for….you even told me every time you try to fall apart, something in,side says it’s not over…. Ale, I’m that something that says it’s not over, I want to be part of that your great story, I want to be part of your secrets, I want to be blamed for your sins….I want to fallow you to the end and I’m sure about it because I’ve never felt like this my entire life….you’re my dream come true and it’s today at least I understand what it is to love….I don’t know how to tell you, I don’t know how to say it, I’m just a hopeless rom-ntic guy in love”

“Liam…..why are you doing this, you know my story, you know how I am…..you know my story, I’ve been through a lot”

“Are you going to condemn yourself because you went through a lot?, you’re not the first or the only woman who is going through a lot or who has gone through this same problem ….. Donald is in the past and I want to be that man who shows you that love truly exists” she gets up again

“Look Liam…. I understand you want the best for me and you care but this is extreme, how about tomorrow, when you wake up in the morning and just like Donald you realize I’m not that woman” he gets up too

“I’m not Donald and I’m not going to talk about him but I can talk on my behalf, I have been with so many women, I’ve seen it all because they come in different sizes and different colors for their sessions, but something happened that day I met you at that school, we talked briefly and I liked you, just when I thought I would see you never, you popped up, playing parent for my daughter, I know I said a lot of nasty stuffs to you but you won my heart that day, it totally stood out for me and I told myself your husband is a lucky fella, I was a little jealous you know but things started to fall apart in your life when I fully knew you”

“I guess you were happy”

“I don’t want to lie about it…yes I was happy that he was finally showing who he really is to you but I was hurt because you were hurting too….please don’t deny yourself this chance life is giving you to feel how it is to love and be loved in return” Alexia looks down and Liam raises her chin up so they can look into each other’s eyes

“I mean it….I love you”

“I’m so scared, I’m not supposed to be feeling these things”

“So it’s true, you feel it too”

“Yes but what difference does it make…..today I couldn’t hold my tears back because you did something extraordinary….. You made me celebrate my birthday and….”

“And don’t talk about it….I did all that I did because I wanted to see you happy and smiling, it melts my heart whenever you do that”

“Tell me I’m just dreaming”

“You’re not my Darling, this is the most honest part of my being” Alexia now holds his hands

“What if I say yes……the age difference and…”

“Age is just nothing but a number, you’re 38 and I’m 35 and so what? Is it now how we feel that matters”

“I know but….”

“No but….though I’m worried about something” she looks sharply at him

“What if one day Donald walks back and tries to win you back” she smiles and laughs

“Donald!…… He’s never coming back and even if he did, I’m done playing second best”

“Does that mean you’re saying yes?” He asks anxiously

“No”

“What?”

“I need to talk to someone first….my son”

“You have all the time in the world to do that” she leaves his hands and he starts to walk out

“Liam” she calls him and he turns

“Thank you” she says sincerely and he walks back to her, he lifts her chin up and k-sses her forehead

“I adore you” he says and walks out, she smiles as she touches her forehead

“I don’t understand why I actually came when you asked to meet me here….I’m just an imbecile” Richærd says to Donald who looks at him without any word

“Why did you even call to meet up with me, I don’t get it… Because the last time we spoke, you made it clear we were no longer friends”

“And I didn’t say we were did I?”

“I’ll just let that pass…so get straight to the point…you look old and worn out”

“Can you just stop with your insults”

“Once again I’m sorry”

“I have nothing to talk to you about, I just wanted to see you that’s all”

“How come I don’t believe you”

“It’s your problem but let me first of all start by how I talked to you the last time, we have been friends from since we were boys”

“Exactly! Richærd, we are more than Friends we are brothers…. Skin color couldn’t even come between us….you’ve always been there for me but I just let myself get mad and say things to you and we have not been speaking”

“I’m glad you realise that but I’m cool though I think there is more to why you’re here than this”

“What are you insinuating”

“Nothing” they pose and sit quietly for a while but Richærd has his eyes all fixed on Donald

“Why do you look at me like that?”

“Are you really happy with Cessy?”

“What a question”

“It’s fine…..I’m sorry but it just…”

“It’s nothing, I’m now with the woman I love and you shouldn’t misunderstand this meeting”

“Like I said, I’m so sorry for asking… We are cool aren’t we” Donald nods and Richærd checks his watch before standing up

“Buddy….I better get going”

“So soon?”

“Yeah Linda will be calling if I don’t reach home in the next thirty minutes”

“Thanks for your time and say Hi to Linda”

“She’ll be delighted….and say Hi to Cessy too”

“Don’t say what you don’t mean but it’s OK I’ll pass your greetings” without another word Richærd walks out and Donald takes a deep breath

“Alexia…..oh Alexia!” He downs the wh0le alcohol he had in the glass but it still doesn’t seem to help him

Richærd enters his car at the parking lot of the inn where they were and before he starts the engine, he gets out his phone and dials Liam

“Hey Bro”

“Liam how are you”

“I’m so happy right now but concerning you I’m so mad at you for not showing up”

“I gave you my reasons, I’m sorry but I’m going to make it up to you guys….it’s a Promise but that’s not the reason I called you”

“I’m listening”

“If you’re still interested in Ale do it soon”

“Why?…. What’s going on”

“If what I saw is anything to go by, Donald might be back sooner than I thought”

“Impossible….”

“Well believe it or not, I’m from talking to the nigga”

“Did he say it”

“No…his pride got in the way, I know that’s why he called to meet up with me but it’s too soon to admit defeat Right? I’ve been with Donald for far too long and I know he’s regretting his actions, before we know it, he’ll be back trying to earn her love”

“That’s not gonna happen, I won’t allow it”

“Then confess it…. She might still be having hots for her husband but if you tell her how you feel, she’ll maybe have a reason not to go back to him”

“I already did”

“You did?… What did she say”

“Well she admitted she feels something too but she’ll first need to talk to her son”

“Just make sure she doesn’t take long though, I’m totally behind you and you deserve her love”

“Thank you very much Richie…. You’re indeed a brother”

“Don’t feel too special…..I’m only doing this because I just want to taste how it feels to be a best man….it’s not about you”

“Silly….” They laugh and hang up, Liam needs to talk to Glow tonight because from Alexia he knows Eddy is already on board but he’ll not allow Donald to win her over Never..
