After he was through with taking his bath, Richærd went with Andrew and Stephen, to an eatery outside school. There they all chilled out, the two friends did their best to cheer Richærd up, because he still looked gloomy and miserable. Sharon’s state occupied his mind all through.

“Guy chill! Nothing go happen to your bae! She would be fine. Just be optimistic for once na!”
.
” Richie, shey you know this your miserable state won’t help matters, because it won’t change anything one bit. You gast mellow abeg.”,
.
They all kept saying soothing words to Richærd to at least help light up his mood. With time he calmed down and began discussing with Stephan and Andrew, while sipping their drinks. They all laughed clearly in high spirit, save for only Richærd.
.
Just then, five rough looking guys swaggered into the matter eatery. Their eyes were all bloodshot and it was obvious they had really had their fill of hærd drugs. The guy in front had a cobra tattooed on his arm, like wise the four guys behind him. It was quite glaring that they were cultists. They made their way towards the table where Richærd and his friends were on. Meanwhile, everyone had already vacated the eatery immediately those cultists made their way in there.

Richærd frowned and made to leave immediately too, but Andrew held him in the hand, signalling for him not to leave, that he might be shot. Andrew and Stephen sat still on the table with a huge frown on their face. But they showed no sign of fear. Richærd on his part was already sore afraid. He really had a bad premonition.

“Hahaha! Skate and Drago we meet again. It seems you guys aren’t happy seeing me here.”
.
He said laughing out loud and the guys who came with him followed in wake and laughed too.
.
“Sky! What’s the meaning of this? Are you really sure you are ready for the Dark Veins retaliation? Are you sure you are ready for an all out war?”
.
Andrew growled in anger, staring back at the rough looking guy that he called Sky.”
” Why won’t we? We the Giant Cobra can’t have our supremacy challenged by a mere. Drago and Skate, this is your judgement day. I really have longed for a day like this. In our last clash you both took down five of my rugged brother. Especially Spinach, my main gee! Our Chief executioner. Una just kpaiii am like that and una get mind dey breath for this campus. After I’m done executing you both, then we would declare war on the Dark Veins confraternity. Time to settle old debts.”

Sky said, as his eyes that were already bloodshot glistened dangerously. And immediately pulled out a pistol that was hidden under his polo. His men followed suit and pulled out the wicked looking guns under their polo.

Richærd stood there transfixed. He found it so hærd to believe, that Steve Andrew were cultists. He couldn’t just believe it if not that the wh0le events were unfolding right before him. They looked so harmless and cool.
.
He knew he really was caught in this mess and was likely to be gunned down in the process. It all felt like a dream. They were clearly out numbered and their opponents were armed to the tooth and ready for any showdown.
.
Suddenly, he saw Stephen signal for him to run. He stood still and ignored Stephen, but still Stephen kept on eyeing him to pick up the race and leave here.
.
“Sky! Even if we would die here, we would be bringing you and your men down with us and I’m as sure as hell that The Giant Cobra would be hunted down to the last man by our brothers.”
.
Andrew said and Immediately pulled out a gun from his wa-ist and shot the nearest guy to him and the guy fell with a grunt and was dead for sure. Hell was broke loose as Sky and his men returned the favor and shot back at Andrew and Stephen.
.
Andrew was shot on the chest and stomach, before he died he shot Sky on his neck and breathed his last.
.
“Richærd run! All Andrew did was to buy you time, you have nothing to do with this.”
Andrew scre-med and fired sporadic shots at Sky’s men who were in hiding, while clutching on his blood covered shoulder.
.
Richærd immediately picked up the race. Running over the shares and table, he dashed across the road. One of Sky’s men pursued after him and fired shots at him.
.
He stumbled on the ground and rolled on the ground, and the bullets whizzed pass the air he previously occupied. His heart was beating furiously. He picked himself up again and dashed into the forest nearby and what followed in his wake was loud bangs of fired shots, that narrowly missed him.
.
That was how he escaped his purser and ran deeper into the forest.

(PRESENT TIME)
Richærd woke from his long dream, tears flowed unconsciously from his eyes.
.
He looked into the heavens and scre-med.
“God you do not exist! How can it be so rough for just one person! How can you be so partial and inhumane? Everyone close to me all have painful endings, or are in bad states. My mom, dad, uncle, Sharon, my kid bro, Andrew and Stephen? All fared badly in the end.”

He shook his head and headed deeper into the forest. If really was a dead end.
