Richærd turned to look at her with a tear filled face. He sniffed and blew phlegms, on his runny nose, caused by his prolonged tears into his handkerchief, and his eyes all red.

The class was bereaved of any human save for her and Richærd, with other random students who would come into the class take a few things and leave.

Sharon stared at the weeping Richærd who looked clearly different from the usual composed and cold looking guy, she had always knew him to be. She sighed, seeing him cry. Crossing fingers over to the seat, she sat down and crossed her hand over Richærd’s shoulder. Richærd was who still had his eyes all red though he had already wiped the tears off his eye, was surprised as he turned and looked at Sharon in the eyes, but all he saw in her eyes were concern, care and sincerity.

“What plagues you so Richærd?”
She asked him, with her hands still over his shoulder. No matter how Richærd tried to make himself feel uncomfortable over her sense of closeness to him, he still couldn’t help but have a bit of this sense of warmth he couldn’t just explain.
He hesitated, he was torn in between the decision to tell her or spilling it all. After a while, he sighed .
“Sorry I can’t bother you with my problems. It’s exclusively my problems please.”
Richærd said looking away.

” See dear, I know whatever is wrong keeps on being a burden to you. You really need to talk to someone. Just let’s take a look you hærdly intEr×¢t with anyone in class, you are known as a lone wolf, always brooding and maintains this deep scowl like you have got issues with all living existence. It’s not really good for……..”

Richærd Immediately cut her off and snorted.
“How is it your business how I do my things? Paddle your canoe, while I paddle mine. Don’t poke nose into things that doesn’t concern you.”

Richærd replied rudely with a sneer.
Sharon smiled and pain could be seen in her smile, it was obvious she was hurt by what Richærd just said, she gently removed her hands from his shoulder and got up.

“I’m sorry, I was just trying to care for a friend who seems to be really going through perilous times. I’m really sorry I….. I never knew I was being a poke noser, just that since that I was once in conditions like this and know how it feels like, I always try my best to help those who I see in conditions, that looked like they are depressed or going through hærd times.

She said gently as a layer of tear formed in her eyes, she forced herself to hold the tears. She felt so embarrassed and insulted.

Richærd tried to talk, but after many attempts to voice out a word to no effect, he just stared on at her. Loss on what next to say. He knew what he did really wasn’t to really be called nice and a proper attitude to someone who really cares, but he didn’t want any attachments whatsoever. He didn’t need new people around him, in fact he doesn’t want anyone to be near him who really cared about him to avoid a tragic ending.

She gave him a smile, with her tear filled eyes and walked away without looking back. Richærd stared at her but didn’t call her back. He felt immense guilt in his heart, but he felt it was for the best.

“I’m really doing her good by making her have nothing to do with me. It’s for her own good. She doesn’t just understand, what it would cost her to identify herself with a cursed guy like me.”
Richærd said inwardly, trying to justify his actions. But still that that lingering guilt still hovered around him.
Seeing no need to still be in school, he picked his school bag and walked back to his hostel devoid of any expression, but he knew as days pass by his fears kept on acc-mulating.
