Chapter 12

*Sunday morning*

David knocked at Diana’s room to know what’s still keeping her in,side, he had waited for her downstairs for a few minutes and decided to see for himself why she’s not yet ready.

“Diana?”he called her name.

“Am coming!”she shouted from in,side and opened the door almost at the same time.

“I….”David started but closed his mouth when he took in her stunning look.
“Wow…you …look …. beautiful”he praised her instead.

“Thank you”she said shyly.

“You ready?”he asked not taking his eyes off her body.

She’s dressed in a simple deep yellowed gown, almost golden coloured,adorned with silver like beads on the neckline and it’s finishings…a featherlike hands.

It revealed her curves perfectly well. She tied a black tye, sarried a black bag, and a black highheeled shoe. She wore a simple makeup.

An extraordinary beauty but breath taking to David, he swallowed hærd as he kept staring at her wa-ist, it’s with sheer force of will that he didn’t wound his arms around it to give her a deep k-ss.

“Yeah”she said rolling her eyes at the way his eyes are undressing her.

“Shall we?”he said tearing his eyes off her body to look at her face with a proud smile.

He offered his hand and she took it, they walked carefully outside like a perfect couple, David couldn’t deny the way they fitted each other.

“Peter open the gate!”David ordered his gateman as he opened the car door for his wife.
His wife?!!….oooops!!!…..

“Thanks”Diana said lowly as she stepped carefully into the car.

He mouthed a welcome and closed the car door.He walked over to the drivers side and turned the car engine to live.

Just as they drove out of the gate,her phone rang.She fumbled for her telephone in,side her handbag.
She picked up on the fourth ring.

“Hello honey?!”came Melvin’s deep voice just as she picked the call.

Her heart sank in fear as she looked over at David to know if he heard the voice, probably he didn’t because his eyes are fixed ahead, and the call is not on loud speaker, how in God’s name is he supposed to hear that?

Diana get your act together!….

“Hi”she managed looking outside the car’s door.
She hates the fact that this is making her feel like a cheating wife.

“Babe how are you doing?”

“Am fine”she replied as she stole a look at David’s face, their eyes met, he smiled at her before facing the road again.

“I really miss you baby!”

“Please can I call you later”Was her reply instead, she took her lower lip between her teeth and chewed slowly, she’s nervous and the fact that she’s licking her l¡pstick doesn’t matter to her right now,she feels filthy.

“Ehm…yeah… alright babe”he accepted cutting the line .

Diana took a deep breath,thank God he’s not a stubborn fella,he agrees to anything she says way too easily.

“Are we still far from your church?”she asked David trying to ease her mind.

“No”he answered driving slowly down the busy road”if this road is clear, we would have gotten there before now”he added.

Something came to her mind just then”does your mother attend the same church?”she asked looking at his face,his face lost it’s glow just then.

“Yes,they would probably be there by now”he said as he turned the steering wheel to the left so that he will get in,side the church premises.He packed the car beside other packed cars and jumped out at once.

They didn’t get a chance to say anything to each other again as they walked side to side in,side.
David prayed inwardly that his mother doesn’t get a glimpse of them.

They sat quietly beside another couple with three kids, and faced the pulpit as the man of God did his preachings.

Diana looked down when one of the kids came to stand before her holding up his hands.He’s about five years old if she guessed right.

“Hello cutie”she said quietly to the boy and lifted him up to her laps.

“David?”the man they sat beside whom had been looking at them since they got in called.David looked at him and beamed in recognition.

“Gabriel!..wow…it’s been a while”he said smiling.

Gabriel stood up from his seat and came to sit beside David, his wife, the kids and Diana is between them, so he came closer to talk with an old friend.

“You didn’t tell me that you have finally settled down”Gabriel said raising his brows as he looked at Diana to emphasize what he meant.

Diana could hear them very well but she minded her business which is listening to the preaching going on.

“Well…it just happened you know, we haven’t had an official marriage yet”David tried explaining as he admired the way Diana carried the little boy like her child.

Just then, he wished if they had been really married like normal couple and had their own child who would be jumping from her laps to his own just as the kids had been doing to his old time friend and his wife, Mary, she had only smiled at them when they came to sit beside them.

He had been on their wedding ceremony, he knew that the lady doesn’t talk much, she waves, or smiles that describes her, some say she’s rude but David didn’t see anything rude about her behavior.

“When should I be expecting your wedding cake buddy?!… because I can swear this is the real deal!”Gabriel snapped hitting him on his shoulder.

“Till thy kingdom come!”David laughed.

With that little chat, they faced the pulpit again.

*Three hours gone*

Everyone is already exiting the church premises, many of David’s friends came around, he introduced Diana as friend to some of the nosy ones and some he said she’s his fiancee.

Just as they were about to get to his car,a familiar voice came from behind.

“Oh David my son!”Maggie shouted as she came and hugged him.

Diana smiled at the look on David’s face, a very disdainful look.

Tricia stood behind her mother eyeing her conspicuously, careful not to let David notice that. She smiled at her.

“Happy Sunday honeymoon man!”Tricia came in looking at David,he didn’t say a word.He knew what this is all about…..

“Oh my daughter in-law!”Maggie came to Diana and hugged her tightly.

“Mom how are you doing?”Diana asked smiling, she’s smiling at many things which only two people knew in exclusion of one person.

“Am fine dear,and you?”Maggie replied happily holding her hands.

“Am okay Mom”

“Am glad to see that you two came to church..you look perfect together,and I can see that you are taking very good care of my baby”Maggie said looking at David this time.

“See Mom we have to be on our way”David snapped grabbing Diana’s hand.

“David !..you told me you will come to the family house today…are you still coming?!”Tricia shouted at him as he opened the door for Diana.

“Under probability!”He said walking briskly to the drivers side.

“Don’t mind her love!,…just enjoy your honeymoon!!!”Maggie shouted after them, alot of heads turned to see the newly weds.

“Mummy?!”Tricia humphed walking to their car.

Maggie stood waving at his son’s car, till it went out of view.

“What’s funny?”David asked Diana when she caught her smiling through the mirror.

“Nothing”she said looking outside the car.

“Bitchy angel”David murmured.

Diana heard that;

“Who?”she asked looking at him in feigned seriousness.

“I can see you are taking very good care of my baby”he mimicked her mother’s words.
Diana laughed loudly.

“But that’s true!”she countered.

“What?..with your poisonous food right?!”David snorted laughing.

“Then why eating my poisonous food!?!…. I didn’t even taste it, you ate up everything you glutton!”

They couldn’t control their selves, they laughed heartily.

“It’s because poison doesn’t affect my system, my body has poison proof”he said admix laughter.

“While you got an ordinary fever last night, am sure poison will kill you within seconds”

“Who told you I had fever?”

“I told myself”
They laughed on.

When the laughter subsided, silence took over as he hitted his horns to alert his gateman.

“You said something about getting groceries last night”David said looking at her as he waited for the gate to open.

“Oh yeah”she replied.

The gate opened and he drove in.
Peter waved at them. He nodded at him and packed his car at it’s usual s₱0t.

“I will drive you there”he said and gave her a quick k-ss on the l-ips as she worked on the seatbelt, before he stepped out of the car.

This caught her by surprise, she froze as she watched him walk in,side without looking back.

She wasn’t wrong about those l-ips, tingles of sparks ran through her system as she licked her l-ips mindlessly…………

Chapter13..

“Today was really fun!!”Diana commented following the day’s event, she couldn’t stop laughing at how they had used baking powder and flour to paint the wh0le kitchen and themselves all in the name of making bread.

They had shopped for groceries earlier after they changed their church dresses to get into an outdoor and more comfortable dress.

She had personally suggested the idea of them baking bread and so they got ingredients for it, Diana have never enjoyed shopping just as she did today, David really made her day.

“You think so?”David replied laughing as he took a look at her face, which is painted all over with flour, he’s sure his own face will be worst than hers.

“I know so!”she said returning the look.

They were sitted with their backs against the wall on the messed up kitchen floor.

David looked around the kitchen and thought of how they would be able to clean up their mess.

He couldn’t believe two adults would actually do such a thing, using the flour meant for baking to play, they baked only two little loaves of bread and the rest of the flour is on their body and scattered around the kitchen.

He looked over at Diana again, how happy she made him today, she had practically laughed at every little thing he does and had cracked endless jokes that kept them playing from the grocery store to their kitchen….

Their kitchen?……

Yeah.. isn’t she his wife, she belongs to him and he couldn’t fight his temptation anymore as he took her hands and squeezed gently.

“Thank you”he said looking at her with all sincerity.

“For what?”she asked rather perplexed at his appreciative words.

She couldn’t think of any reason why he should be thanking her while she had been the pest that flew into his house and refused to get lost.

“For being here Diana, you have turned my wh0le world around”he whispered to her.

The moment his head bent towards hers,she knew he was going to k-ss her, she closed her eyes waiting impatiently for his sweet l-ips to touch hers.

He k-ssed her lightly at first before deepening the k-ss as his hands ran through her body.

Her head spinned and she forgot the world as his tongue sought, tasted and took what it could from her mouth, she never imagined in her widest dreams that a k-ss will carry such a domineering power.

His hands moved swiftly to her wa-ist and pulled her to lay down on the floor as he followed her down, their mouths still tangled, not minding the flour all over the floor.

She threw her arms mindlessly around his neck and pulled him closer,so the k-ss would deepen.

His fingers moved knowingly to her chest and fumbled with her zipper then, found its way to her br-ast.He took her left br-ast with his right palms and squeezed gently.

She mo-ned softly,it was a marvelous sound that escaped her l-ips.

“David?!”

They broke apart sharply and fought for air into their lungs as they looked at the door almost at the same time with great anxiety and surprise at the unknown intruder.

Diana drew in long uneasy breaths as she tried to comport herself ,then zipped up her cloth.
She thought of what would have happened just then if they were not interrupted by the voice that called his name.

She looked at his face, he doesn’t seem happy as he looked at the kitchen door expecting the person to open it, she’s sure he will punch the person if he enters just then, it’s a male voice.

“It’s Harry”Diana stated watching him.

“I know,that son of a gun!”He snorted.

“David man,are you home?!”Harry called again, they heard his footsteps coming towards the kitchen.

“Go see him, I will take care of this”she said lowly as she rolled her eyes at the situation of the kitchen.

He nodded and walked to the door, he opened it and almost collided with Harry.

“What…the ….hell!!!…”Harry drawled moving into the kitchen but David pulled him outside and shut the door behind them.

Diana smiled at them and faced her duty.
She said she’s going to take care of it…right?!!.

“David don’t tell me you were actually cooking in,side that kitchen with Diana!”Harry said looking at his friend’s painted face.

“And what’s wrong with me cooking with my wife?!”He retorted raising a brow.

“Your wife?!!”Harry laughed.

“Yeah…my wife!”David returned.

“You are so unbelievable man!!….and when I tell you that you are inlove, you will still doubt me”

“Don’t start with me right now, I need to go take a shower”he said.

“And wait…is it because am here that stops you from showering with her?”Harry mocked.

David gave him a go-to-hell look.

“I think you have over stayed your welcome, you have to f-ck out of my house you enemy of progress!”he didn’t know why he talked irrationally.

“And come to think of it!…I don’t think the look I saw on your faces is that of people who are baking bread, it’s more like you too are enjoying your honeymoon……jeez!!… David I must have interrupted you, am really an ass h0le, I think am really a big enemy of progress!!”Harry laughed uncontrollably as David pushed him to a seat in irritation .

“Didn’t you hear me when I said go to hell!”David said laughing with him now.

“Okay… alright.. I will go but not until I take a bite of your special bread!”Harry said admix laughter.

“No bread for you, f-ck out of my house!!”

“Okay I accept!”

When David gave him a chance,he ran upstairs instead and shouted down at him;

“I will be waiting for you in,side your room honeymoon man!”

“If you think you will receive special treatment from my wife today, better get that thought out of your mind because I won’t let that happen!”David snorted laughing as he went into the bathroom.

From in,side the kitchen, Diana heard everything they said and kept smiling as she cleaned up the kitchen, she took the remaining flour to mix so she would bake more breads.

And prepare more food, they got groceries that will last for at least three weeks… she feels sad that she might not spend up to three weeks with David….

She has gotten so attached to him and it kills her to think of how he’s going to react to everything when he founds out.

He’s becoming so happy this days and he seems to be giving her more time and attention than his job that meant alot to him then…what do you care Diana?

Enjoy the moment and let tomorrow think about itself!….

She snapped herself out of her misery and faced her baking, she needs to prepare more food anyways, they have a guest…

***.***.***.

“Food is ready!”Diana announced and looked up at the wall clock.

The time is 7:31pm, it’s already dinner time, she heard their voices from upstairs and knew they are discussing, is it something serious or are they still talking about her and David?…

That’s a question for another day..

“What do we have here?”Harry asked going to sit beside Diana but David pulled him to the other side of the dinning table and sat him down opposite her, then went to sit beside her himself.

Diana wanted to laugh but thought better of it and sat down without a sound.

“Bread, beans, egg sauce and vegetable salad….wow!!!”Harry said taking his cutleries to eat, he took a spoonful of beans and chewed slowly.

“This is wonderful, I must get married this year and am going to bring her here for cooking lessons”Harry praised.

Diana laughed over his behavior.

David didn’t find it funny”why do you have to cook so much like we are having a feast, just to waste all this stuff and stress yourself because of this glutton”he scoffed.

“Well at least he should enjoy a little bit before getting his own wife”Diana said laughing.

“It’s ending today”David replied looking at him in mockery.

“What?!…are you saying…no way!..so because you are married, mind you forced marriage!, you don’t want me around anymore?.. fine, I will tell my mom to get my own wife for me!”Harry retorted.

“You don’t have to stress yourself about telling your mom, you can marry from those babes, especially the one you are going to see tonight!”David said rolling his eyes.

“You finally exposed me,I was considering taking Diana”Harry feigned anger.

“I think you are a bit late”David laughed at him.

“Can someone please observe table manners?”Diana cleared her throat as she saw where the discussion is heading to.

“Is it because…….”Harry started again but was cut short by the ringing telephone.

Diana stood up to go get it but David stopped her ;
“I will get it”he told her and went to take it from the counter were he kept it.

“Hello?”he said to the caller when he picked up.

“David?”A troubled voice came to the line.

David’s heart did a tilting skip, Tricia seems to be crying as she called his name in a cracked voice.

“Tricia what’s the problem?!”David said sharply impatient.

“David it’s Mom!”her voice came again unsteady.

“What happened to her…. Tricia talk to me, what’s wrong?!!”David asked alarmed.

“We are in CH(Central Hospital)…the doctor’s are still running tests on her!”she stammered.

David threw the phone away and grabbed his car key.

“David what’s wrong?!!”Diana and Harry asked in unison.They have been looking at him in confusion as he answered the call.

“My mom!”he shouted and made for the door, Diana ran after him.

“Hey!..you guys really have to calm down!”Harry said as he followed them……..
