Diana stood behind David as he talked hurriedly to a nurse in a grey-blue gown and spectacles which she touched every second.

He had told her to stay back while he rushed to the hospital, but she bluntantly refused to listen to him, she got into the car and he drove with a heart tearing speed.

Diana was drawn to tears by the look on his face, she was also afraid they might get into an accident and die even before they know what’s wrong with his mother.

What she didn’t think of until right now, is how Harry managed to follow up, he stood right beside her.

“Calm down sir…your mother is alright, she’s in ward 6..walk straight, turn left and you will see her, the doctor is still taking samples of her blood for test”

The nurse explained, Diana didn’t think David heard the last words because when he received the direction he walked past the nurse and went in search of the Ward.

She knew people loved their mother but it surprised her to think of David who doesn’t like to see his mother be in so much pain just because he heard she’s in the hospital,not even dead!..

Wow!….wonders shall never cease to happen!…

“Thanks nurse”Diana said appreciatively to the nurse and ran after David,Harry right behind.

David ran into the Ward and saw Tricia sitted beside his unconscious mother and a female doctor holding an injection container filled with blood.

He ran to the bedside and took his mother’s cold hand.

“Doctor what’s wrong with her?!”he asked looking at the doctor like a strangled goat.

“Don’t worry dear, she’s coming around, the test results will be due tomorrow or evening if processed fast, but with the way things went, I think she had a heart attack…but we have to be sure”The doctor explained.
Diana and Harry came in at once.

She went to were Tricia sat and hugged her, Tricia placed her head on Diana’s shoulder and cried silently.

“Tricia it’s alright, she will be fine okay?”Diana consoled.

“Doctor when’s she possibly going to wake up?”David asked as he took Tricia’s hand and squeezed gently.

“Any moment from now dear… I will be in my office, and I will like to see you Mr….?..”

“David”he completed,she nodded and found her way out.

“How did this happen Tricia?”Harry asked.

“I don’t really know, I mean there was no sign of weakness in her when we returned from church, she was all healthy and agile, we even spent hours playing chess,

But after somewhile, she told me she wants to go upstairs that she’s sleepy…..then I heard her cry out, I went upstairs to her room to know what’s wrong, I found her lying unconscious beside her bed”Tricia explained wiping tears off her face.

“How did you get her here?”Diana queried wondering how she carried an unconscious woman to the hospital.

“Linda was around”She answered referring to the house keeper.

“Hope it’s not something serious”David said worried.

“And what’s not serious!”Maggie said snapping her eyes open.

“What?!”David said wide eyed.

Diana and Tricia went rigid as they mopped at the older woman.

Harry laughed knowingly, he heard noticed when Maggie opened her eyes then shut it again so they wouldn’t catch her, she listened to their conversation.

Harry was the only one who noticed it,even before he asked Tricia a question.

“Yeah..this is really serious…am sure you will be happy to see me like this,so that you will be free like the ocean”Maggie ranted on.

David was short of words,he stood up and made for the door;
“I’m going to see the doctor”he said and walked out.

“Mom!, you really scared me,I thought it’s serious”Tricia said.

“You should get used to getting scared by me”Maggie replied shaking her lap lightly.

“How are you feeling Mom?”Diana asked smiling at them, there’s no different between Maggie and her children.

“Am okay sweetie…how’s your marriage going?”She asked raising a brow.

“Thanks to God, it’s getting sweeter”she replied laughing at what seems to be more important to the woman than her health.

Harry wouldn’t understand where the words are directed, would he?…..

“And thanks to God you are awake “Harry ch¡pped in, tilting his head as he fell against the wall.

“Am not awake until you tell your friend to be a man and give me grand children”
Everyone laughed uncontrollably, even in sick bed, her dramas are still there.

“When will you ever get serious in your life Mom?!”Tricia asked.

“Maybe when you get married honey!”Maggie replied as fast.

David came back just then.They all looked at him at once.

“What did the doctor say?”Harry asked first.

“Nothing much,still waiting for the test results, she just explained to me things she really needs to avoid”David replied.

“Like …what?”Tricia asked.

“Probably, like nagging and telling him what to do and what not to do!”Maggie jumped in.

“Mom please?!!”Tricia drawled looking at David who looked scornfully at Maggie.

“Well..it’s getting late,I think I will be on my way”Harry came in as he looked at his wristwatch.

“So you won’t be late at the party?”David asked rolling his eyes.

“Jeez man!…get off my shoulders, since you don’t want to throw your wedding party, let me enjoy another man’s parties”Harry snorted laughing as he walked towards the door to avoid going home with broken l-ips.

“I know how to get you, just keep running”David said. When Harry left them, he looked at the three women in his life like a moron.

“You two have to go home as well, I will take care of her”Tricia said.

“We can stay together”Diana added.

“Who told you I can’t take care of myself, it’s not like am a sick toddler!”Maggie ch¡pped in.

“It’s fine, you two can go home, I will stay with her”David said avoiding not minding his mother.

“But I said I will stay with her, you two have to enjoy your honeymoon to the fullest, if I knew she’s going to be alright I wouldn’t have bothered you guys”Tricia said twitching her l-ips.

“Okay ma’am!, I don’t think we would want to stay here and listen to your sassy tongue that never cease to whine”David said.

“We?!…wow!..that sounds more like a great union”Tricia said being cheeky.

“Oh yes dear…that is one sweet word I have ever heard from his mouth”Maggie agreed.

Diana laughed at the mother and daughter who never cease to amaze her, these two will improve any movie industry.

“Are you coming with me or maybe you will want to gossip all through sunday night with them?”He asked looking at Diana.

“Well, they will do just fine together!”Diana said coming to stand beside him.

“Yes dear, we will be alright, just take care of yourself and your husband”Maggie said smiling at Diana.

“Okay Mom”she smiled back and followed David who is already walking out of the Ward.

“Mom!… I pray this works!”Tricia whispered to her mother.

“Off course it will, I know David is headstrong but not when it concerns my health, wait until you hear what I told the doctor to tell him!”Maggie said batting her lashes.

“I feel so sinful right now Mom!..Diana is my friend and I don’t like the fact that am playing with her emotions”Tricia said looking gloomy …………

“And Mom, I think this should stop here, I don’t want us to get matters complicated because of all your childish behavior, I don’t want to hurt Diana,

She’s only in this mess because she wants to be of help to us, it’s not right if we make it get out of hand..”
Tricia said looking at her mother with all seriousness.

Maggie stood up from the bed and sat down,she took Tricia’s hand and looked at her face intently.

“My dear, I know all this…it’s not like am trying to ruin my son.. your brother, or Diana…your friend, am doing this for the best, David is not getting any younger, and I think he has worked hærd as a man should,

He’s successful and handsome…Now let me ask you, of what important is all that without a woman?!…even the poorest man gets married with hope that his children might be his wealth tomorrow,

David needs someone like Diana, the sought of lady that will not only be a wife to him but a friend, a mother, a counselor, a partner, and so many more, that kind of woman that will be his strength in weakness”

“But Mom, do you think Diana is the woman?”Tricia asked hastily.

“I know she is, I can see changes in David, and think of why he didn’t ask her out or even come shout down the house all these while?….you think she uses charm?!”she raised a brow quizzically.

“No, at least I know Diana isn’t into charms, you should also remember that she’s in a relationsh¡p, she had been into many relationsh¡ps that she quits when she’s tired, she’s not the kind to stick with one man”Tricia explained.

“Not when love is involved dear, a woman has no much strength to fight love, even the wildest woman mellows down when the right person finds the key to her heart, you will be surprised at what will happen if eventually she falls for him..”
Maggie replied and sat straight with her legs crossed.

“Mmm.I would love her to be his wife anyways, she’s gat qualities that I can’t even brag that I have, and she’s beautiful”Tricia accepted smiling at her mom.

“Oh yes dear!… and my sweetheart is much more beautiful!”Maggie smiled.

“Are we going to stay here tonight?!”Tricia asked as she lay her head on Maggie’s lap.

“No, let’s go see the doctor and get going, I will call David in the morning and tell him that I was discharged that morning..and that the doctor will be treating me at home”Maggie said thoughtful.

“Mom where did you get this brain?”Tricia teased.

“From many years of experience!”she replied standing on her feet as she pulled Tricia up.

“David please talk to me,you haven’t been yourself ever since we came back from the hospital,what’s wrong?!”Diana asked in a worried state.

She had been busy clearing the table,but her eyes were on David who felt restless,he tried the television,that didn’t work.

He went upstairs to his room and switched his laptop on, everything felt blurry, he switched it off and lay down on his bed with his hands on his head as he looked at the ceiling.

Diana noticed his movements and came to sit down beside him on the bed.

He didn’t say anything to her, or reply to her countless questions, he sat straight on his bed instead and looked at her face as if it will answer her questions.

Diana took his hands in hers and looked at his eyes worriedly.

“David,I know this has to do with what ever the doctor said to you, if you don’t want to tell….”

He putted his second finger on her l-ips and shutted her up.

“Even if I don’t want to tell,am sure I will still say it when you must have tormented me beyond my control”he said smiling.

“Then spill it…am listening”she replied.

“Well it’s not something serious, I’m just worried because of my Mom, I don’t want anything to happen to her, the doctor said her blood pressure is high due to alot of thinking and heart attack is in high rate too, am actually worried because I know she thinks of nothing else except me..”he stopped and stood.

He dipped his hands into his pockets and moved closer to his window.

“You don’t have to over think yourself because of what the doctor said, all you need to do is do what your mom wants you to do and make her happy always if you want her to live longer, she’s not getting any younger and old age comes with alot of ailments”Diana told him considerately.

“I know what she wants,she wants me to take you as my wife and give her grandchildren”David said looking at her,she’s still seated on the bed.

“Well….. that’s…. something that every mother wants, to be a grandma one day”she said looking at her hands which she had folded on her laps.

“Does your mother want that too?”he asked lowly.

It just hit him now that he doesn’t even know anything about the woman he had spent a week with, he doesn’t know if she has a family or not, if she is a student or graduate… David where have you been?!…

“What would she expect when her daughter is married”she replied looking up at his face.

“Diana?”he called softly.

“Yes?”

“What if I tell you that I love you?”

“I wouldn’t be surprised”she replied swallowing the lump on her throat.

“Why?”he asked moving towards her.

“Because I think I love you too”she said taking the hand he offered when he stood right before her.
He pulled her up and ran his thumb over her l-ips.

“You smell like heaven”he whispered to her ear as he took her earlobe between his teeth.

“How does heaven smell?”she asked smiling at his choice of words.

“It smells like Diana”he replied as he ran his tongue down her neck.

“David?”she called in a whisper.

“Yes ma’am?”he answered and looked at her face grinning.

“Why do you have to love me?”Diana’s confused, it doesn’t seem fair at all, why do they have to fall in love while it’s not supposed to, what if he finds out the truth?, it’s going to hurt them both now.

“I don’t know, you just stole my heart, I can’t say if it’s because you are beautiful because there are many beautiful ladies out there, I just love you beyond reason Diana, and am ready to get our wedding official of you let me”

Diana forgot how to think and what to think about, her brain never works when they are so close, she simply went on tiptoe and brushed her l-ips on his.

“I love you David”

He didn’t have to reply,he swept her feet off the floor and lay her carefully like a sleeping lad on the bed.

The desire to take her fast was so great but David wanted her to enjoy real pleasure, he undressed her bit by bit, she lay quietly and watched him shyly.

When she’s fully unclad, he swallowed slowly, then ran his finger down her stomach to her middle.

She closed her eyes and mo-ned softly.
He bent over her and ran his tongue over her br-asts.

He looked up at her face and asked,

“Where do you want me to touch you Diana?”

“Everywhere”she whispered desperately.

“You are very beautiful”he said k-ssing her l-ips lightly.

“I think you have told me that before”she said smiling.

“I want to tell you that every moment of your life, and I want to wake up next to you every morning baby”he whispered huskily and bent to take her br-ast to his mouth…….
