Chapter 9.

David saw the look on her face and knew that she’s in pain.
He released her hand immediately and apologized.
“Am sorry Diana, I didn’t mean to hurt you”

“Sorry? sorry?!…you told me to seat and I sat without argument, you talked calmly and I thought that maybe we are getting along like normal couple for once! And now what?….you turned to a beast in a second and almost ripped my skin off and all you could say is sorry!!!”

Diana didn’t understand why she’s so emotional, tears ran down her cheeks as she stood up to walk away but he is too quick, she didn’t get a chance.

He pulled her into his arms.She wasn’t able to control her tears so she let it w-t his night wear as she sniffed on.

“Am sorry okay?”
David apologized again.

“I know you don’t want me here… I will leave…….”

“No!….you are not leaving!”David’s words surprised them both, she looked up at him wondering why he suddenly didn’t want her to go.He stared hærd at her and simply held her close again.

“Why?”She asked almost whispering.

“I don’t know……. I… there are many rooms in here, you can just stay for as long as you want”He licked his l-ips and added”To be frank, I don’t want to miss your food”

He expected her to argue or show a negative sign but she simply moved away from him laughing.

“What’s funny?”He asked eyeing her.

“Nothing, I will be in the kitchen,I have somewhere to go “She said coyly and headed into the kitchen.

Interesting! was it not now that she was in tears,and all of a sudden she’s laughing heartily.

That’s how crazy David has made her, and she’s afraid to admit that she’s inlove with him.

David watched her go in,side the kitchen before sitting again.

He took a deep breath and thought of what just transpired between them.

‘Is she saying the truth?’

‘Why didn’t she have a choice in the first place!?!’

‘Why do I suddenly want her to stay?’

His mind went deep in thought, and his heart feels so warm when he thinks of her.
‘Why?’

‘Is that love?!’
That’s not true. Love doesn’t exist, it’s only in the movies and stories that he has come across such sham, not sure it happens in reality.

*Few minutes later*

“Honey food is ready!”Diana announced to David and went into the bathroom to take a quick shower.

David is ready for work,he sat down and enjoyed his breakfast.

He had the shower running and thought of how exotic it will be to take shower with her .How sweet it will be to have her long legs rapped around his wa-ist.

Her arms around his neck, her l-ips on his..while his fingers touched every curve of her body and his tongue taste every bit of her s€×y l-ips and br-asts…that’s going to be heavenly.

“David what has come over you?!”he snapped his self out of his daydreams.

This is really getting too much, he dropped the cutleries he’s eating with and drank a glass of juice.

He picked his keys on the table where he had left them and exited the house, he’s not ready to face her when she comes out of the shower dripping w-t in a towel.

He’s sure going to loose control and give in to temptation, he’s not ready for that.

“David?!”Diana called when she got out of the bathroom, she looked around and saw no trace of him.

She sighed and opened the door to see if he’s still outside, he is gone already!.
Did he even eat the food?.

She is thinking he will drop her off at the nearest bus stop where she will pick a bus to Melvin’s house.

She needs to see him so they would talk, to avoid him finding her and creating a scene, he’s the jealous type and she’s not ready for his drama, she won’t stand it if David gets more upset than he is already.

The guy has more control than anyman she ever come across, for him to live and sleep under the same roof with a woman as s€×y and charming as herself without falling into temptation, that’s a big kudos to him.

‘how I wish fifty six percent of men are like that’ she thought.
Impossible right?!……..

She closed the door in dissappointment and went upstairs to dress up.

*David’s office*

“Why did I employ you if not to represent me in simple business meetings especially when am not available!”David said furiously hitting his table and making some of the doc-ments and items on the table bounce.

Emily looked at her boss in surprise, for many years she had been working for him as his assistant, she had never seen him exhibiting such a behavior, not to her or someone else in this company. She looked at him in bewilderment.

“Am sorry sir,I thought you would want to be there yourself”She managed making her voice as cool as possible.

“Go talk to them! if you can’t be able to get them to sign a contract with us, cancel everything!”David fused again and pointed at the door.

She sighed and walked out quietly muttering ‘thank you sir’ to him .

He’s probably not in his best moods today, what could be wrong with him?.
That’s non of your business! Emily shunned her mind.

David didn’t need a soothsayer to tell him what’s going on in the minds of his workers especially Emily his personal assistant and Ade his security guard.

What he’s finding hærd to understand is why he’s so pissed off. He shouted his security man to his knees just because he was being friendly as before and now his P.A because she told him about his awaiting guests.

He looked up from his desk when he had a click on the door, he would have beated who ever that is being so stupid as to open his office door without ringing him

But, he knew there’s only one stupid fellow who does that and that remains no one else than Harry.

Harry walked straight to where David sat and gave him a light punch on the shoulder,he didn’t find his look funny.

“What’s wrong man?… thought you should be in a good mood as a man in honeymoon should be”Harry knows how stupid he sounded.

“Honeymoon?!”David snapped looking at him with pumped eyes.

“Oh yeah!…. your wife …..you know!”Harry demonstrated with his hands in amusement.

“Harry are you making fun of me?….man this is damn serious, I don’t know……I don’t understand what’s going on in my life again! my wh0le being is just changing and feeling differently overnight…..I don’t understand it …shit!!!”

He leaped up and faced the window, his hands stuffed into his pockets to avoid hitting the wall.

“Wait?!…. don’t tell me you have fallen in love with this lady already?!”Harry gisted laughing loudly.

When David looked at him scornfully, he shifted to avoid him throwing a blow his way, his teeth will surely be on the ground.

“Well, man….am not surprised, that babe is so beautiful and s€×y with that shape of hers and did you taste her food? man that’s grace upon grace, don’t let her slip off your fingers because she might fall into my hands and take note there’s no letting go!”Harry said on a more serious note manner.

“Sometimes I wonder how we became friends!…..”David started but Harry is fast to cut him short;

“Because we are two crazy buddies, I like it when you sound like that man, but don’t worry I gat you……let’s go take something outside, something to clear our heads then we talk like real men, for now am as grumpy as you are”Harry said coming closer to him again.

“Am not in the mood, I should have known better than to tell you my problem, the only thing you know how to do is f-cking bitches”David growled looking at his already grim face.

“Exactly! see man, you will lend me your car, there’s this party I would be going in two days time and I need a new ride to carry my babe”Harry’s expression changed within a twinkle of an eye.

That surprised David as he twitched his mouth and watched him with cornered eyes.

He opened his mouth to talk and clamped it shut when his phone rang.

“Tricia?”Harry said looking at David’s phone as he received the call.

David nodded to him as he pressed the phone to his left ear;.

“Trish!”David said to the caller.

“David how’s your wife doing?”Tricia said sarcastically.

David knew why she’s calling,to make fun of him as well.

“Fine”he managed lowly.

“You haven’t told me when it happened and you didn’t border to call and explain to me even when I left your house in anger?!”

If she’s angry, David can’t fathom, she’s with her mom and so she’s supposed to know how their mother came of this, why denying it or is she serious?… maybe she doesn’t know.

“David are you there?”Tricia’s voice came to the phone again, David didn’t know what to tell her.

“Yeah…ehm…I thought you knew about it, I mean you are already at the family house for the holiday when Mom came about this”David said his mind.

“Are you trying to tell me that Mom is responsible for her being in your house?”

“Yes”David answered sitting down on his chair,Harry sat on his desk watching him.

“I didn’t know, Imean she didn’t tell me about it, gosh I should have known that it’s her doings!”Her voice came seriously.

“Well that’s it, I will try to come around the house, we all need to sit down and talk about this because it’s giving me headache, mother seems to be playing with my guts” David tried calming down to avoid chasing her off the phone.

“Yeah that’s fine with me, I don’t understand why she would do that without our consent, I have got to talk some sense into her, I mean this is the twenty first century who does that?!”

“I keep wondering about that, a lady I know nothing about is now living in my house answering my wife, it s-cks Trish”David snapped.

“Calm down,when you come to the house,we will talk it through”

“Alright sweetie see ya”

“Okay bye”
The line went dead.

David looked at Harry who watched him closely in amusement.

“What?”he asked.

“Nothing”Harry laughed, he wasn’t able to control himself.

David threw a punch at his chest and he fell backwards still laughing.

“Fine! fine!! fine!!!… I won’t laugh again okay?!!!”Harry stood up and ran towards the door when he got a chance.

“Get out of my office you son of a bitch”David said laughing as well.

“Alright”he said raising his hands in surrender “but, jokes apart remember that I will come tomorrow to take the car and also to taste the delicious food of your sweet wife, send my regards to her as you enjoy your honeymoon!”He finalized and stormed out of the office when David made towards him for his remarks.

David ended up hitting the door, he smiled cooly and went to sit down on his chair, he opened his laptop and some files on his desk and started going through it one by one………

Melvin smiled at Diana as she walked towards him, he had come outside to welcome her when she called to tell him that she’s almost at his house.

“My baby……I have missed you so much honey…”He said hugging her tight.

“Missed you too love”Diana replied trying to free herself from his tight hug, she’s sure she never missed him a bit .

“Come on babe,let’s go in,side”He took her hand and lead her carefully in,side his parlour.

“Have you gone home to see your parents Mel?”Diana questioned hastily when she sat down.

She shouldn’t have asked but Melvin’s sister had sent her countless texts on WhatsApp telling her to get Melvin to go home because his mother is sick and she’s not available.

Diana hadn’t met his family members before, his sister had been an old friend before their relationsh¡p so they became closer though not too close, they are in different schools.

She learnt that their father is late, leaving them with their poor widowed mother, everyone catered for themselves on their own and Diana feels sad that the poor woman would be lonely.

And of course! be having high blood pressure thinking about her children that cared less,She so much detests that.

She only keeps trying hærd to change Melvin for better so that he will look after his mother.

“Yep…. have gone, my mom is not feeling well but she’s better now, you?”Melvin replied sitting beside her, he threw k-sses all over her face.

“No, am spending this holiday at my friend’s place…….. please stop…..you didn’t even offer me anything, I feel like am the only girl that has a mannerless boyfriend…”She said brushing him off and standing to go get herself a drink.

“But this is just like your house!…feel free to take anything baby!”He said smiling as he relaxed on his seat.

Diana came back and sat down beside him with a glass of juice at hand.

“So which of your friends house are you spending this holiday?”Melvin asked looking at her in scrutiny.

“Why do you care to know….it’s not like you tell me yours!”She countered looking away from him.

“I must comment…you look adoring, are you trying to impress me or someone else?”he said closing the space between them as he k-ssed her cheek.

“What has that gotten to do with our discussion?,…or has your jealous part turned on?”she replied and took a drink of her juice.

Actually, she had seen for herself that she’s quite adoring as Melvin said, she took her time to get ready and look good for her husband…… husband?!

Which husband Diana have you suddenly blanked out?!
“What’s wrong with me?”

“What?”Melvin asked confused at her words.

Diana didn’t know she had said that, she didn’t even hear herself, her mind had been on David,from the very beginning, he had consumed her mind,body and soul. What it means…. she’s yet to know!.

All she knows is that she can’t even do anything without thinking of him.
All this has to stop, really…

“Nevermind”she said to Melvin smiling at him.
If it were David, she’s sure he will pressure her to get the truth unlike Melvin that let’s go way too easily..Her mind wandered off again.

“Are you alright Diana?!”He called her attention back”are you listening to me at all?!”

“Sorry,what were you saying?”She asked surprised at herself.

“Jeez!… seems today I have to keep repeating myself…….I asked ‘are you sleeping over tonight?'”

“No!”she batted her lashes and looked away, she doesn’t want him to read her thoughts.

“Why baby…do you know how much I have missed you? don’t you miss me?”Melvin started just to get her to stay.

She’s not falling for that, she has actually came to tell him that she’s at her friend’s place for the holiday.

So, he won’t keep looking for her and maybe find her at David’s and make things complicated for her, and staying overnight is not part of the plan.

“I have missed you but I can’t sleep over, actually I had gone somewhere with a friend and I thought I should come and say hello since it’s around your house.

She’s probably waiting for me now and it would be best if I start going”She lied, that’s not entirely a lie,she has a temporary home to run and she won’t risk telling her jealous boyfriend.

“What?…just like that?”

“Yes sweetie…see, I promise I will come over after this holiday and I will stay with you for as long as you want”she said eyeing him.

“Are you trying to bribe me right now?”he queried cornering his eyes.

“Is it working?”she asked being rhetoric.

“Oh yeah…but you have to promise me one thing!”he agreed giving her a condition.

“Which is?”

“Promise to call me as usual,ever since this holiday, you haven’t called me or answered my calls so we would talk like before, you have to do that or I …………..”

She placed her finger on his l-ips and shutted him up.

“I promise”she said and slowly bent to k-ss him.

His l-ips tangled with hers has never been as good as when she imagined David’s l-ips on hers.

Diana you have to get your mind off something that’s never happening,it’s not like he likes you a bit…….her thoughts ran wide as she letted Melvin undress her.

Of course she’s not a V-rgin, she’s beautiful and has been in relationsh¡ps, s€× with protection has been part of this relationsh¡ps.

This is the only relationsh¡p that’s lasting longer than she expected, that’s because she’s not ready to walk out the door as always.

The way things are going, it’s soon gonna head for rocks and that’s exactly her point of prayer.

It s-cks her to get involved with just one man for years, seems boring to her, she’s not a believer of love.

Her feelings for David is making her crazy because it seems different…..

It’s alot like love…
But what is love?

She has never thought much about Love apart from the very moment she started nursing her feelings for David in,side her heart.
