I glance at the phone wondering why Lea will be calling me.
“Well are you going to pick it up or what?”. Chloe asked snapping me back to reality.
I breathed out and swiped the screen as I answered the phone call putting it on loud speaker. Her voice came up immediately.
“Yes. Lea? Why are you calling?”.
“Okay. Lucas, I’ll be quick with this, I tried calling Liam but his line was busy”.
Huh? She tried calling Liam? Why?
“Ask her why she’s calling”. Chloe whispered.
“Lea. Why are you calling?”.
“Its about Brianna”.
“What about Brie?”. Chloe asked taking the phone from me.
“She is in great danger”. Lea replied. “I’m not friends with either of you but I just feel like what Lauren is about to do is wrong”.
“What?”. I asked her confusedly.
“I know Lauren is my friend and I should have her back as always but this time, I just can’t do what’s asking me to do”.
“What the shit are you talking about? Just spill it”. Chloe snapped at her.
I held her hand squeezing it softly as I told her to calm down. She nodded slowly and breathed out.
“Lauren is planning on stealing Brianna’s child”.
“Thats not possible. Liam assigned a lot of bodyguards at the hospital”. I told her.
“And thats why Lauren had a backup plan “. Lea continued on the phone. “Phase 2”.
“Phase 2? Whats that ?”.
“She somehow brainwashed Nicholas into thinking that Brianna is pregnant for him and not Liam”.
“That bitch”. Chloe muttered.
“And I’m pretty sure that Nicholas is at the hospital right now asking for paternity test probably”.
“What the f×¢k!”. Chloe cuss as she stands up pacing around.
“Thanks for this , Lea. Anything else?”.
“No, Lucas. I just felt like informing you about this”.
“Thank you. And do you mind if you come to the hospital? We are going there now”.
“Sure. Just send me the address”.
“Got it”.
I disconnected the call immediately and threw the phone on the bed exasperatedly.
“Why did you ask her to come ?”. Chloe stood in front of me.
“Just for clarification, I mean, if Nicholas denies anything”.
“Yeah, you are right”.
“I’m always right”. I said teasing her.
But she didn’t respond. Instead, she then paced around the room thinking deeply.
I sighed softly. “Chloe?”.
“I’m scared, Lucas”. She stopped and face me. “I’m scared for Brianna”.
“She will be fine. Lauren won’t be able to steal either Jayden or Jane. Liam assigned bodyguards there, remember?”.
“Yeah but”. She fiddled with her fingers. “I kind of, I mean. Does this have to happen every time?”.
“What do you mean?”. I asked standing up to face her.
“Every single time , Brianna has someone who hates her. I mean, why can’t she be loved ?”.
“Chloe, come on, don’t say that”.
“Thats just the truth. Can’t she have peace of mind for at least once? Let her be happy even if for a while”.
“Well she’s happy with Liam”. I told her.
“There’s always someone who frustrates her “. Chloe continued. “First there’s Liam ex wife, Trisha and this bitch, Lauren”.
“But you are always there to back her up”. I completed it for. “And thats what I love about you , okay?”.

“How dare you?!!”. I yelled at her.
“I did what has to be done, Lauren”. Lea spoke back at me. “I did what was right”.
“What was right? You don’t get to decide whats right or wrong for me, Lea and you know that “.
“And I also know that you were about to do can get you into jail”.
“And I don’t f×¢king care”. I shot back. “I don’t care if I go into jail. As long as Brianna is unhappy, I’m happy about that”.
“You are unbelievable, Lauren. How can you say that about your own sister?”.
“Don’t”. I frowned at her. “Brianna is not my sister, she’s an illegitimate bastard”.
“She doesn’t deserve the hate. She didn’t beg to come as an illegitimate child so stop calling her that”.
“Well thats what she is”.
“And so what? Huh? Is that why you plan on stealing her child?”.
“Yes, Lea”. I said exasperatedly. “I’ll steal away all of her happiness because she also stole Liam away from me”.
“Liam was never yours to begin it, he never liked you and you know that. He saw you as a passing facade, you need to get that”.
“Get out of my house!”. I barked at her.
“Really now? You are chasing me out of your house now ? I thought we were close friends”.
“Friends?”. I scoffed. “You say we friends but yet you ratted me out to them”.
“Thats because you were planning to do a heartless thing”.
“Well I never needed you in my plans anyways. I have others to do what I want”.
“And by others, you mean, only Emilia, right? Deep in,side me, I know that Nick is not going to do what you want “.
“You don’t know anything”. I said angrily.
“Well I do know that Nicholas is too in love with Brianna to hurt her. He might give the baby up for her because thats true love”.
“You’ve said enough, Lea. Get out of my house right now and I mean that fact”.
“I’ll gladly leave, Lauren. I never needed your disastrous friendsh¡p in the first place anyways “.
I glared at her and she grabbed her sling bag walking out. I kicked the chair next to me out of anger as she left.
How dare she! How dare she say all that to me ? Huh? Does she know who the f×¢k is talking to?
“Who was that ?”.
I looked up to see Emilia in just a bathrobe, seems like she just came out of the shower room, probably yeah.
“Who was that?”. She asked looking at me.
“That bitch, Lea. Can you believe she didn’t want to be part? She backed out”.
“What? Lea can’t do that”.
“Well she did. I’m getting frustrated, Emilia, first, My Dad went over to make up with Brianna and now Lea, next thing I know is that Nicholas backed out as well”.
“Thats not possible, Nicholas is too dumb, I’m pretty sure he’s causing uproar at that hospital right now”.
“But what if he’s not? Lea mentioned a thing like he’s in love with Brianna so he won’t do anything to hurt her”.
“So what are you going to do?”.
“I don’t know”. I flopped on the couch. “I’m clueless on what do right now but I can’t let Brianna be happy, she’s a pain in my butt”.

“I guess this is where it ends between us, I only wish I could turn back the hands of time but its okay”.
“You don’t want the DNA test anymore?”. I asked him surprised.
“No. You should enjoy your happiness, Brianna. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to give that to you”.
I blinked back tears. “Nick. I’m sorry”.
“Its fine, Brianna”. He smiled tightly. “I get that you’ve moved on so I’ll do that too”.
The door opened immediately and Liam came in. He paused seeing Nicholas and went over to give him a blow on the face.
I gasped. “Liam!!”.
“Mommy!”. Lili ran to over to me distracting me from the fight.
“Baby”. I hugged her happily. “I missed you so much”.
“I missed you more. We would have gotten here earlier if not for Mommy”.
I suddenly remember Liam and turned to see him in a fist fight with Nicholas who didn’t retaliate.
“Liam!”. I yell. “Stop it”.
He stopped as if realizing I was here and then ran towards me cupping my cheeks.
“Of course, I’m okay “. I snapped at him.
He glanced at Nick then me. “Are you sure? Wasn’t he hurting you?”.
“No, he wasn’t. You were the one hurting him just now, he’s innocent, Liam”.
“But?”. He looked at Nick again. “He said something about taking you and my baby”.
“Well I talked him out of it, Williams”.
“Oh”. He ran his hands through his hair nervously. “Right “.
“I’ll just be on my way now”. Nicholas said heading to the door.
“Wait!”. Liam stopped him. “Dude! I really am sorry for attacking you that way”.
“Nah. I deserved that”.
“Mommy!”. Lili butted in. “Can I go see my baby brother and sister now?”.
“Haven’t you seen them before?”. I asked her confusedly.
“Yeah. But I wanna see them again”.
“Sure. I’ll go with you”. I said standing up from the bed.
The door opened again and this time, Chloe walked in. She smiled out of relief on seeing me and then turned to glare at Nick.
“You asshole!”.
I stood befuddled as she kneeled him in the balls immediately making him fall to the floor.
“Chloe, he’s__”.
“Shush”. Liam clamped his hand over my mouth smirking. “A little beating won’t hurt”.
