Alexa’s pov 🎀

Monday….! 7:15am….!

I stand in front of my full length mirror and smile in satisfaction… I’m fully ready for school.

Yesterday was Sunday and thankfully it past in a blur, I didn’t come out of my room all day… I wasn’t ready to face them.

But today is Monday, I must attend class… I know everyone in school are wolves too, but I can’t skip school because of them… I love studying.

I carried my bag and head towards my door, I opened it and come face to face with Micah and Will.

“Good morning, darling!” Micah greets me with a bright smile.

“Morning!” I replied.

“How was your night?” He asked.

“Fine!”

“Did your nightmares come back?” He asked again.

“No!”

And that’s strange!

something that has been haunting me since as long as I can remember… I finally saw it physically and I didn’t get any nightmares.

Micah nods and nudges Will gently.

“Princess, you didn’t come out of your room yesterday… I guess you must be very hungry!” He paused and studies my expression.

I quietly wait for him to complete his words.

“How about you join us for breakfast?” He suggested.

I shake my head and head for the main door. “I’m not hungry!”

Will rushes to block my way.

“I made your favorite!”

“Will, I’m not hungry!”

“Just a bite would do”

I closed my eyes and inhale deeply.. I marched towards the dining table and take a slice of bread.. I stuffed it in my mouth and gulp down a cup of tea.

“Happy now?!” I mumbled coherently. “Can I leave now?!”

He nods and hands his car key to Micah.

“Drop your sister off!”

Micah rolls his eyes. “She’s your sister too!”

Will sits on a sofa in the living room and crossed his legs… He picked a magazine from the table and scoffs.

“With her behaving like this, I’m not so sure if she’s my sister that I know!”

I glared at him.. as if he’s the brother that I knew!

“She needs more time, she was totally clueless of who we truly are!” Micah said, he turns to me. “Come on, baby, I’ll drop you off!”

“It’s fine, I’ll walk to school today!” I told him.

“What?!” He frowns. “You know we’ll never let you do that!”

“Well, I don’t care what you think anymore!”

“But…” He trails off.

Will got up and snatches his car key from Micah, he shoves it in his pocket and put on a straight face.

“Then let her walk!” He said.

“Come on, Will, she just a kid throwing tantrums… ”

“She’s not a kid, she’s 18! She needs to know that things are not the way they seem.. if she thinks I’m a monster because I’m a wolf, then so be it!” Will said and walked away angrily.

Micah sighed and turn to me.

“Princess, you…. ”

I didn’t let him complete his statement before I rushed out of the house.

I halt abruptly as I step out… Xander is leaning against his motorcycle, I guess he’s waiting for me.

He raised his head and saw me.. he smiles at me and walk towards me.. his hands tucked in his pocket.

“Hi… good morning!” He greets me.

“Morning!” I replied him briefly.

I turned to walk away but he catches my arm, I stared at him with a frown…he stared back at me with his pleading eyes.

“What?!” I asked.

He clears his throat.

“I..I wanna give you a ride to school” he said gesturing at his motorcycle.

He sound so down and I get this feeling that I should just go with him but…I don’t wanna agree with that feeling!

“I don’t like riding on motorcycles!” I lied.

“Oh!” He paused but still not releasing my arm. “Then I’ll walk with you!”

I shake my head and smiled.

“I’m taking the bus!”

“I’ll take it with you!” He said quickly…a little bit kinda desperate.

I snatch my arm from him and balanced my bag on my shoulder.

“Xander, I don’t wanna go to school with you…I wanna be on my own for now!”

He frowns slightly.

“Do you hate me?” He asked in a quiet voice…a kind of voice I never knew he had.

I look in his eyes and saw sadness..it makes my heart breaks.

“I don’t hate you! I just hate wolves!”

“But I’m a wolf!” I see his eyes flick yellow…I shut my eyes and turn away from him.

“Just know I don’t hate you!” I said.

We stayed in an awkward silence..then I broke the silence, I cleared my throat.

“I’m gonna go”

“Please let me give you a ride!”

“It’s fine, i…”

I’m cut off by someone honking, I turned towards them and realized it’s Brett… he’s sitting on a similar motorcycle with Xander’s.

“Alexa, come on, I’ll give you a ride!” He called with a smile.

I smiled back at him and turns back to Xander…I found him glaring daggers at Brett..his jaw clenched and I can hear his teeth grinding against each other.

“Don’t go with him!” He said.

“Why? Who are you to order me around?”

He turns to me and his gaze softens.

“I’m not ordering you, I’m just looking out for my mate!”

“Well, stop looking out for me!” I said and runs off to Brett.

He hands me a helmet.

“I thought you wouldn’t come with me!”

“Hmm” I simply hums… I’ll do anything to get away from Xander right now.

I wore the helmet and get on the motorcycle…I held onto him and hear Xander growled behind me but I didn’t turn back.

“Ready?” Brett asked.

“Yeah!” Then he drives off.

We made it to school in no time, Brett parks his car in the parking lot and we both head in,side.

We stopped by my locker.

“Alexa, I’m gonna go get my timetable.. I’ll catch you later!”

“Ok!”

He smiles at me and walked away. I opened my locker and grab my history textbook, just as I’m locking my locker…I heard a familiar voice speak behind me.

“Alexa!” She called quietly.

I turned around and smiled at her…but my smile falters when I remember she’s also a wolf.

“Are you ok?” She asked.

I nod and start walking towards my history class…she follows me.

“Have you talked to Xander?” She asked.

“Yeah!”

She rushed in front of me and stops me…she sighed.

“I mean, have you sit down and listen to him?” Joyce asked.

“I don’t see any reason for that!”

“There’s a reason, Xander is sad..very sad, I have never seem him so sad before!”

She’s right, he’s sad…I saw how sad he is this morning but I don’t care!

He’s not my boyfriend to begin with, so he getting sad is none of my business!

“Alexa, there are a lot of things you don’t know about werewolves… give Xander a chance to explain everything to you… please, hear him out”

“What’s there to know other than they kill people?”

She stares at me a few minutes and shakes her head.

“We don’t just kill anyone, in fact we don’t kill anyone… We only take actions when we feel like something or someone is a threat to our loved ones!”

Just then I hear the bell rings.. indicating that class is about to start.

“Joyce, I have class and I’m late already!”

“I know you’re scared of us right now.. you’re scared of everyone around but trust me, we won’t hurt you!”

“I don’t have time for this now… Maybe we can talk more after class….”

“No! Everyone in the pack can feel how sad Xander is… Please give him a chance, he….”

“I really need to go!” I interrupt her and rushed off.

I jog down the hallway and finally arrived at my history class… I open the door and step in.

The teacher is already there and class has begun.

“Ms Linda, I’m sorry for coming late….”

“It’s fine, Luna!” She smiles.

I wanted to shun her and tell her I’m not Luna, I wanted to tell her to stop calling me that but I didn’t.

“Please go to seat!” She said.

I nod and pass her a smile.. I looked towards my desk and saw Xander already sitting on the desk next to mine.

He smiles at me and wave me over but I ignore him and went to a girl on the fourth roll.

“Hello, can we exchange seats?” I asked her.

She turns to Xander and he nods.. she got up and head to my desk and I sit on hers.

I subconsciously glanced at Xander, he’s staring blankly at me. I look away from him an concentrate on Ms Linda.

When class was over, I also didn’t give him any chance to speak with me before I rushed to my last class for the day.

I didn’t sit with him.. I sat far from him in this class too.

Finally it’s lunchtime, I rushed to the cafeteria… trying my possible best not to bump into any of Xander’s friends.

I carried my tray of food and look around the cafeteria to see if there’s an empty table… but these wolves seems to occupy everywhere already.

“Hey, Alexa, look our table is over there!” Joyce said, putting an arm on my shoulder.

I gently move away from her and looked at the direction she’s pointing at… Connor and the twins are smiling at me.

Xander’s simply staring at the tray of food in front of him.

“Look! Xander already ordered your food, let’s go and eat!”

Xander and I locked gaze and I can feel him pleading with me to join them.

“Let’s go!” Joyce said.

“No!”

She frowns slightly.

“I don’t wanna sit there!”

At that moment, Brett stops beside me.. a tray of food in his hands too.

“Alexa, what a coincidence!” He said.

“Yeah!” I replied.

He looked at Joyce and faces me.

“This is….?” He trails off waiting for me to complete his statement.

“Someone you don’t wanna know!” Joyce snaps at him and walks away… but not before giving me a disappointed look.

Brett sighs and shakes his head.

“Your friend is fierce!” He said.

“Yeah, she doesn’t likes you!”

“I figured!” He chuckles. “Let’s go over there!” He said and shows me a empty table.

Why didn’t I see it before?!

We walked towards the table and he pulls out a chair for me.

“Thanks!”

“You’re welcome, beautiful”

Immediately he said that, we heard a loud bang from behind us and series of gasp followed.

I quickly turned around and saw it’s Xander, he fl¡ps their table and everything on it falls down.

He stares at me briefly, then glared at Brett maliciously before walking out angrily.

Joyce comes to me and give me a disapproving look.

“You’re being unfair to Xander, Alexa… You’re taking this too far and breaking his heart!”

I ignored her and turns back to my food but that doesn’t stops her from talking.

“You’re human but Xander doesn’t care, he accepted you as his mate and follows you around like a lost puppy! You treating him this way is not fair at all” with that she walks away.

Brett clears his throat.

“Ok, what just happened?”

I smiled at him.

“Nothing! Let’s eat!”

He nods.

I think about what Joyce said just.. am I really taking this too far? Am I overreacting?!

But this is so hærd to believe.. my brothers and friends.. and even the guy I have a crush on.. they’re all wolves! Animals!

Ugh! I’m confused! I don’t know what to do!

Writer’s pov 🎀

Alpha King’s mansion….!

Xander shuts the door in a loud bangs and angrily march to his room and also slams the door loudly.

The queen, Jenna and King all stared at his door with a confused frown… wondering what got him angry.

Just then Connor walks in and hands Xander’s bag to Jenna.

“Your majesties!” He greets the King and queen.

“Connor, darling, what’s wrong with your alpha?” The queen asked.

“His mate, she still doesn’t wanna give him a chance!” Connor said.

The king sighed and cleared his throat.

“I knew it would come to this.. her brothers should have told her earlier and this wouldn’t have happened!”

The queen looked towards Xander’s room and sighed quietly.

“Jenna, I have an idea!” The queen said.

“Mom, I think we should go e her more time to digest everything!” Jenna said.

“I know, we’re not going to rush her… I just want us to make her see how harmless we are!”

Jenna raised an eyebrow.

“How do we do?” She asked.

The queen smiles. “We’ll pay her a visit tomorrow at school”

Jenna, Connor and the King stares at her feeling lost but she didn’t bother to explain.
