Alexa’s pov 🎀

King’s mansion…!

I press the doorbell and waits for someone to come get it.

Soon the door opens revealing aunt wearing a lovely smile, her smile grows bigger when she sees it’s me at the door.

“Alexa, darling, do come in!” She said taking my hand.

“Good morning, aunt!” I greet her as we walk in.

“Good morning, honey!” She replies cheerily.

We step into the living room, uncle is sitting on a couch with lots of files scattered on the table.. a pen in his left hand… I guess he’s left handed.

“Uncle, good morning!” I greet.

“Morning, dear. You are finally here!” He drops the pen.

I frown. I’m finally here? Was he expecting me too?

“Your aunt wouldn’t let us eat unless you’re here!” Uncle said.

“Oh!”

Aunt slaps his shoulder lightly and wears a small scorn.

“What are you saying?” She scolds him.

“What am I saying?” Uncle scoffs. “I’m complaining about you to your daughter-in-law”

I bite back a laugh at aunt’s face as she mimicks him…she rolls her eyes.

“He always complains like a sisi!” Aunt said.

Uncle m-ssages his forehead and puffs out some air.. he look tired… Hmm, even werewolves gets tired.

Maybe he’s being working on this files for some time now.

“Alexa, you must be hungry… come let’s eat, breakfast is ready!” Aunt told me.

I look towards the dining table and my mouth watered at the feast that welcome my eyes.

But I don’t think I can eat, I already ate something before leaving home.

“Finally, if we wait any longer, the food will get cold” I hear uncle say.

“Shut up, we just waited for 20minutes!”

I sigh. I guess I can’t say no now, they’ve been waiting for me to join them.

I throw my purse on a couch and wear a big smile… time to fake enthusiasm!

“Thank goodness! I thought I would die of hunger today!”

I quickly link my arm with aunt’s and pulls her with me to the dinning area.

“Uncle, come on… I can’t wait another minute!” I call aunt.

Uncle gets up and follows us, he sits at the head, aunt sits at his left hand side… while I sit next to aunt.

“Wow!” I exclaims.

My stomach growling quietly. Ok, I admit, I wasn’t hungry but seeing this feast.. I suddenly feel hungry.

“Alexa, what do you want to eat first?” Aunt asked me.

Looking at the table it’s pretty hærd to make a choice.

“Er… I’ll start with the crabs!” I said.

“You read my mind!” She said.

She puts a crab on my plate and also puts one on her own plate.

“Eat, eat and tell me how it taste!” She said.

I pick the crab and brings it closer to my mouth… But my hand stops midway as uncle clears his throat.

“Well, your daughter-in-law is here, don’t care about me and don’t ask me which one I’ll start with…” He trails off.

Oh no, don’t tell me uncle is jealous of me! Now I know where Xander inherited his jealousy from!

“… but just so you know, I’ll start with the spicy tunas!” He said.

Aunt and i exchange looks, we rolled our eyes, shake our heads and burst into laughter.

Like father, like son!

“You’re too old to be jealous” aunt said.

Uncle scoffs.

“Jealous?! Who?! Me?!”

Aunt raises an eyebrow at him.

“I’m not jealous, who should I be jealous of? My daughter-in-law?”

“Hmm?” Aunt hums.

“I’m not jealous!”

“Oh, I didn’t say you’re!”

“I’m really not jealous, Alexa is my daughter”

“A father can also be jealous of his daughter!”

“But I’m not!”

I gro-n mentally.

They don’t look like they’re gonna stop anytime soon, I better stop them now.

“Aunt, uncle is not jealous.. he only wants your attention!” I said.

Uncle turns to me with a smile.

“Right!”

“That’s called jealousy!” Aunt said.

“No, it’s not!” I told aunt and winks at her when uncle is not watching.

She seems to understand what I mean, she smiles and nods her head.

“Let’s just eat, we have a very busy day!” She said.

30 minutes later…!

“Aunt, you put your foot on the food!” I compliment her.

She blushes and waves me off.

“Oh, please! I just tried my best to impress you”

I smile at her statement.

“You don’t have to impress me, aunt, I’m your daughter… You wouldn’t try to impress Jenna, right?”

She and uncle stares at me for a few minutes, then nods in agreement.

Aunt calls for a maid and instructs her to clear the table… She gets up and we walk towards the living room.

We both sit on the same couch, uncle sits on the couch he was sitting and continue working on his file.

“I’ll go get change and we’ll go get your dress!”

I nod.

“We’ll be fast as we are going out of town!” She said.

I nod again, even though going out of town doesn’t sit well with me.

Maybe I’m just being paranoid because of that seer’s prophecy.

“You’re going out of town?” Uncle asked.

“Yeah” aunt replies.

“To do what?” He drop his pen and gives his attention to us.

“We’re going to get Alexa’s induction dress!”

Uncle frowns slightly and does a little thinking.. he shakes his head.

“You can’t go out of town!” He said.

“Why?” Aunt asked.

“Nothing, but you can’t go!”

Aunt narrows her eyes… drawing her brows together.

“What do you mean I can’t go?”

“I’ll tell you later, just get someone to bring the dress to the palace… I don’t think it’s safe for you guys to go out!”

Hmm… I know I’m just being paranoid because of the seer’s prophecy.

But why does uncle doesn’t want us to go out? Is he just being paranoid too?

“What is it that you can’t tell me now? If you don’t tell me, I won’t listen to you and I’ll go out!” Aunt said.

Uncle sighs.

“It’s Antonio, he’s back!”

Aunt doesn’t say anything for a brief moment, she look shocked.

Which makes me wonder who Antonio is… Is he a bad person?

“If he’s back, why haven’t he come home?” Aunt asked in a calmer tone.

“I don’t know, I don’t what his motive is.. so for now, we all have to be careful”

Aunt nods and turns to me… her enthusiasm gone.

“Alexa, go back home for now… we’ll continue our preparation tomorrow!”

I didn’t argue because I’m honestly happy that we aren’t going out of town now.

But I’m slightly worries too… I mean, who’s Antonio? Why does his name alone affect aunt’s mood?

I get up and pick up my purse.

“Aunt, uncle, I’ll get going now!”

They simply nod absentmindedly.. I sighed and walk towards the door.

I’ll ask Xander about Antonio later… I wanna know why uncle makes him sound like a bad guy.

Xander’s mansion…!

Xander stares at the food on the table, he’s hungry and the foods are enticing… but he’s too angry.

Angry that his mate doesn’t love him.

He walk towards the fridge and takes a bottle of chilled water… He finishes it and throws the empty bottle in a trash can.

*Human, I need meat not water!* Liam growls at him.

*Wolf, your mate doesn’t love you and you’re not angry?!* He growls back.

*That’s no problem, we can make her love us!*

Xander rolls his eyes at his words… He shuts Liam off and head to the door.

“I better go do some sparing!” He said.

*Connor!* He called through his mind-link.

*Yes, Alpha!* Came Connor’s quick response.

*Get some fighters ready, I wanna train them personally!*

*Train them personally?! Alpha are you ok?!*

*Just get them ready!* He growls and blocks his mind-link.

Alexa’s pov 🎀

“Xander, I’m home!” I called as I step into the living room.

But all I got is my voice echoing back to me. Maybe he’s gone to the packhouse!

I head upstairs to our room but something catches my eyes… the plates on the dinning table.

I rushes towards the dinning area and sees that the dishes are left untouched.

None of them were touched… Didn’t he know I made him breakfast? But I remember telling him that I made breakfast.

Well it doesn’t matter, I’ll just microwave them… package them and bring them to him!

But I don’t know where he is.. I’ll just mind-link him.

*Xander?*

No reply.

*Xander?*

Still no reply.

*Xander!*

I felt like my voice just hit a wall, then I realize he’s blocking me from reaching him.

I reach for my phone and dialed his number.. it didn’t connect.

I sighed. What is wrong with him lately? Why is he acting strange since last night?

How will I reach him now? Then a person comes to my mind… Connor!

If I can reach Connor, then I will know where he is. I search for his number and send him a quick message.

*Hi, Connor, it’s me, Alexa! Just wanna know if you have any idea where Xander is*

He replied me almost immediately.

*Training ground, come quickly… Alpha is acting crazy!*

Acting crazy?! So I’m not the only one that thinks that way?

No need for microwaving, I’ll just pack them up and leave!

Training ground…!

Arriving at the training ground, I saw some guys… giant guys rolling on the ground.. gro-ning in pain.

What’s happening? Was there a rogue attack here?!

I heard a loud growl and raised my head… Xander’s standing in the center of a circle.. he’s sweating profusely.

And he’s got that deadly expression on… What’s wrong with him?

He charge at two guys but they take slow steps backwards, shaking their heads fearfully.. then they runs off with great speed… as if their lives depended on it… Well, I guess it is now.

“Luna, you’re finally here!” Connor said.

I turn to him.. he’s breathing heavily and sweating too.

“Connor, what happened here?”

“It’s Alpha, I think he’s still mad and he’s taking it out on everyone!” He said breathlessly.

“Mad?!” He nods. “Mad at what?”

He stares at me with a frown.. like he can’t believe I’m asking him this.

“Didn’t you ask him about why he got drunk yesterday?”

“I did but he refused to talk to me!” I pause and turn to Xander’s direction. “Do you know why he was drunk yesterday?”

He stays silent.

“Tell me if you know”

He shakes his head and sigh.

“He needs you to calm down, go to him!” He simply said and pushes me forward a little.

I take a deep breath and walk towards Xander… His angry eyes is searching around.. like he’s looking for someone to fight with.. no, someone to beat up!

“Hey! Xander!” I called when I got near him.

He turns to me and his eyes softens but it’s just for a few seconds… He glares at me and clenched his jaw.

“What are you doing here?!” He asked.

I raise the flask I am holding and smile.

“I brought you breakfast!”

He turns away from me and walks towards a bench… I follow him.

Everyone makes way for him.. like they are avoiding him.. I would too if I were them, I wouldn’t want him to use me as a punching bag!

He sits down and I sits next to him… I open the flask.

“I saw you didn’t eat your breakfast.. so I brought it here!” I said.

“Take it away!”

I laugh.

“Take what away? Don’t you know fighting on an empty stomach is healthy?”

I take out a fork and stretch it at him… but he didn’t take it.

“I’m not hungry, take it away!”

I drop the spoon… Connor said he’s mad at me, maybe I should ask him about it now.

“Xander, did I do anything wrong?” I asked calmly.

He doesn’t say anything and doesn’t look at me.

“Tell me what I did wrong and I’ll apologise, don’t starve yourself because you’re mad at me!”

He still doesn’t say a word, he just keep clenching his jaw. Just then, Janet sits on his left side.

She glares at me and hands Xander a small towel, Xander takes it and wipes his face with it.

“Alpha, what you did back there was so cool” she said.

“Really?” Xander asked.

“Yeah, those fighters are too weak and they couldn’t stand a chance against you!” She said.

“Hmm!” Xander hums.

She reaches for a bottle of water and gives it to Xander.

“Here, Xander, have some water!”

“Thank you!” Xander said and takes the water.

I scoff, am I invisible now? They’re talking as if I’m not here!

I clear my throat.

“Janet, can’t you see we are having a discussion before you came?” I grit out.

She frown, she opens her mouth to speak but Xander does before her.

“I’m done with you, go home!”

“Go home? We were talking about something just now!”

“There’s nothing to talk about, go home now!”

Hmm, I wanted to argue with him and make him tell me why he’s mad at me.

But I guess this is not the right place, I’ll just wait until we get home.

“Fine, let’s not talk about it” I push the flask towards him. “Here, eat your breakfast!”

He stares at it disgustingly.

“Take it with you, I’m not hungry!” He said.

“What do you mean you’re not hungry? You didn’t have breakfast!”

He doesn’t say a word, he simply ignores me and continue drinking his water.

I reach for the spoon and serve some amount of rice and brings it to his mouth.

“Say ahh!” I said.

He pushes my hand away from his mouth and the spoon fell.. he grabs the flask and throws it on the ground.

“Can you leave now?!” He growls.

I frown at his action.

“What is wrong with you, Xander?! Do you have to do that?!” I asked.

“I told you to leave! What are you still doing here? Leave!” He roars.

I see Janet smirking.. then I remembered he just accepted the water she gave him.

I feel anger erupt from the pit of my stomach.. I get up.

“You can accept her water but not my food?!”

“Yes!” He said.

“Why?! Huh?!” I asked.

He didn’t reply me.

“You’ve being acting strange! Getting angry at me for no reason.. you rejected to eat my food and you even have to throw it away, why?!”

“I don’t wanna eat anything prepared by a lying bitch!” He said loudly.

My mouth falls open slightly… Everyone is staring at us now.

“Bitch?! I’m a bitch now?!” I asked in a crack voice.

He stares at me and I see regret in his eyes but it’s just for some seconds.

“Just leave!” He said calmly.

“No! Tell me why you called me laying bitch!”

He doesn’t say a word.

When he was courting me.. begging me to be with him I wasn’t a bitch!

Because we have a little argument for a reason unknown to me.. he’s calling me a bitch!

I nod… I feel a lone tear running down my cheek.

“You called me a bitch in front of everyone! Fine! This bitch is leaving!” I said.

I lock gaze with Janet.. she winks at me mockingly.. I ignore her and angrily storms off.

“Luna…..” I ignore Connor and runs off.
