Chapter 14: ALPHA KADEN.

I gro-ned painfully as I felt a hot sting at my back. Staring around the room, I noticed how arranged it was.

My breakfast was set on the table, so was my new clothes spread on one of the chairs. And there was nothing let for me to do myself.

I shook my head. ” You guys are gonna make me turn lazy someday. ”

I sat on the bed, thinking about nothing but my conversation with Alpha Kaden last night. Something about him amazed me, leaving me with so many reasons to believe every word he says.

First during the incident in the forest, what he said got me thinking. He said he wasn’t like other alpha’s who demands and no one dares question them.

He sees things the other way, he doesn’t go too further into people’s businesses neither does he forces things from people all in the name that he is a so-called Master.

In so many ways have I tried to push him away from my life, doing whatever it takes to have him out of my life for darn good. But yet, he still never stops from keeping to his deal.

Not that I actually find interest in him, no. I’m just speaking of the fact of his simplicity.

And just last night, he told me that he was ready to wait until whenever I was ready to open up to him. He’s just too patient and understanding, that’s onething I learnt about him last night.

And till now, I haven’t thought about how it feels like living in the mist of animals. It’s more tiring thinking about it than to face it in reality.

And did I just omitted saying the fact that he promised to wait for me? I mean, how long does he think it’s gonna take for me to understand him? To get used to this alpha and mate’s stuff?

Does he even think that I will eventually end up falling in love with him? Scoffs. I’m sick and tired of believing that shit.

I heaved heavily, finally standing up from the bed.

I went close to the window, outside looked so dried and quiet unlike the human world. By this time everyday, people could be seen moving up and down.

Then I saw Hilda at one side with some other maids. They were about twelve of them. I found myself smiling at the way she laughed.

Those smiles remind me of Danielle. She was the only one who lightens my face with her smile each time I was sad. It’s just something about her you don’t wanna forget.

Somehow I’ll admit, I miss my family’s so much. Despite how hærd they fought against my destiny, there’s still a memory of them I can never forget. Especially back then when we were still kids.

Yeah, those were the funniest days I enjoyed the most. Then, I was always the loser in the games, while Gene and Danielle were the winner.

Danielle will have me stop the game cos I didn’t know how to play it well. And just a month ago, Gene had to confess that most of the time, I wasn’t the loser. Kent was only trying to play lovey dovey with Priscilla.

I get it, I was the youngest then. A gate way to cheating.

I finished my breakfast, then I went to have a little make up on. I left the room to the kitchen, this time I wasn’t intending to steal anything. As it was the only place I knew so well around.

Maybe I’d just have to spend some time with the cook, and get to know the few chefs in there. It’s just my second day here, and it’s more like centuries.

I stood at the door to the kitchen, they didn’t notice my presence. I faked cough, getting all their attention. ” Miss, you shouldn’t be here. ” Said the chief cook.

” I know, it’s bored staying alone in the room. ”

” The master won’t be happy if he finds out that we let you stay here. ”

I smiled, understanding how terrified they were towards The Master. ” Don’t worry about him, I know what to tell him when he does finds out. And besides, no one saw me coming. Or, does the master come here to check all the time? ”

” Sometimes though, but that’s occasionally. ” She answered.

” That’s not something to worry about then, the master isn’t the problem now. So, ” changing the topic. ” what do we have here? ” Pointing at the pot on fire.

” That’s cat meat,” the chief cook replied. ” Will you like to have a taste of it? ”

I made a disgusting face, shooking my head. ” No, thanks, I’m full.” Pointing at it again, I asked. ” What’s so special about Cat meat?”

One of the chefs brought a long stool for me to sit on.

” It one of the pack’s favourite.”

” Even the alpha? ” I asked, hoping she will say no.

But, unfortunately, she said the opposite. ” Yes. And do you know what, he doesn’t joke with his meal when this meat is involved. ”

” Oh, ” I sighed disgusted. ” Well, that’s cool. Apart from the… Cat meat, is there any other meal he prefers? ”

” Yeah, ” she nodded. ” That’s the French fries and the Sunday roast. Aside from the Cat meat, these are also his preference. ”

” Wow, kinda made us common. ”

” You love the Sunday roast too? ”

” No. ”

” The French fries? ” She asked almost immediately.

” Yeah, my mom always cook it for me when I was little. She always prepared it for dinner every Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays. ”

” Guess your mother is a great cook to have gotten your attention. ”

” Yeah, she was. ” I sighed heavily. ” Can I ask you a question? ” I asked.

” Yeah, sure. ”

” What’s your name? ” I asked again.

” Green, my name is Emily Green. ” She answered.

” Wow, that’s a nice name. ” I complemented. ” Well, I’m Illiana Walker. Nice to meet you, Mrs Green. ”

” Nice meeting you too, Miss Walker. ” We exchanged a smile.

” Honestly, that’s actually not the real question. ” Mrs Green smiled again, pulling herself to sit in the stool beside the counter.

” What is the real question then? ” She asked.

” Well, the real question is, would you mind telling me more about The Master? I want to know more about him. ” She inquired.

” Okay. ” She looked at the girls, ” I wanna have a moment with her… in private. ” They excused us, leaving the kitchen for the both of us. Then back to me, she started. ” Well, you really do wanna know more about The Master? ”

I nodded affirmatively.

” Honestly, ” she started. ” the only way you can know more about The Master is when you get a little bit close to him. You can never determine the kind of person he is when you try to study him from a far.

I’ve served The Master since I was young, then it was his father ruling the pack. I first worked as his mother’s personal maid, but when she died, I decided not to serve any other. Her majesty never played with me, that was why I refused to serve any queen his majesty will bring into the family. ”

” Alpha Kaden’s father had two wife’s? ” I asked, surprised.

” Yes, he did. And he never even loved her a bit. Actually, they weren’t in good terms I’d say. And do you know the worst part of it, that bitch never even cared. She took away his father’s love for him all to herself, blinding his majesty and corrupting his heart to forget the fact that he lost his first wife. ”

” That’s so bad of her. And so unfortunate for him. ” Referring to alpha Kaden. ” What later happened? ”

” His father traveled him to England where he stayed with his uncle. At twenty five, he returned. That was two days after his father died of cancer. His step mother wanted to take over the throne, but Alpha Kaden had to show her how smart he was.

He wasn’t the rude or hot tempered type if you’ve noticed recently, but that was the first time I saw how angered he could be. Damn, I was really scared to death. I almost thought the entire pack will sink to the ground. ”

” He just yelled at her and that’s all? ”

” When I said I almost thought the entire pack was gonna sink, what do you think I meant by that? He had a great fight with her. ”

” He fought with his step mother? I mean, how is that even possible? ”

” That was the only way he could have what belongs to him. He defeated her, and you need to see how overjoyed I was when he dethroned her from her statues.

And mind you, he didn’t just dethroned her, he banned her out from the pack for darn good. ” She laughed. ” That was the sweetest moment I’ve ever seen in my life. ”

I faked a smile on my face, guess she noticed that. ” Look sweetheart, I didn’t say all this to make you hate him, I was only trying to explain to you what kind of person alpha Kaden is.

I know how much you fear him, but I assure you that one day, you will find a thousand reasons for you to trust him. He’s worth being with, trust me, soon you will get use to him. ”

” Can I? ”

” Yes, you can. You don’t have to force yourself to fall in love with him or try acting like you’ve understood what kind of person he actually is. I only told you a hint of him, the rest is up to you to find out yourself. ”
