Chapter 36: A k-ss TO REMEMBER.

“ NOOOO…!!!”

She scre-med as she jerked up from the ground, p-nting heavily. She looked around the room, “What happened?” she asked herself but Kaden replied.

“What happened?”

Then did she realized he was beside her. she couldn’t say anything but to stare at Kaden who stared back at her. She remembered Evelyn’s word. “You will have the vision, then will kaden find out about your gift.”

“As soon as you see this secret, you must tell your mate.”

All these words recited in her mind, plus the fact Kaden was giving her a look that tells how ready he was to hear everything. “Kaden…” she started with a pause. “I don’t know how to put it in words.”

“You are free to put it in anyway, I’m listening.”

“I’m sorry, Kad, I’m sorry I had to put the truth away from you. I didn’t want to bother you, and seeing how stressed up you were since my first visit to The Amazon Home, I didn’t want to depress you the more.”

“No matter what, Ana, you should have told me. How long have you been having this dreams?” he asked.

“The night Sir Gof died.” She stated.

“What vision did you see?” he asked again.

“Everything. I saw how his wine was poisoned, I saw how he died. I also saw the maid who had poisoned his drink but, the one who had asked them to do it all, I didn’t see what he looks like.”

He licked his lower l-ips, just this few she had told him, he was so confused and speechless. He only stared at her, not knowing what to say. His expression spoke of nothing. He couldn’t react, he was just still and quiet.

“Kaden, I am so sorry I kept this away from you.”

All this while she knew. All this time she has been keeping all this to herself. If she had told him this earlier, he could have work on finding out who the culprit was at all cost. But no, she didn’t.

“Keep talking, I’m listening.” He ordered her to continue.

“The next day when the entire castle was informed about Sir Gof’s death, Laura and I went to the lab. Doctor Evans told me about a weed known as Pokeweed. He said it was used to contaminate Sir Gof’s wine to get him addicted to it. So when I touched it, I saw a vision of someone plucking the same weed but, the figure had a coat on so,” shook her head, “I couldn’t see the face.”

She swallowed hærd. “I had again this noon, when I slept with you. I visited The Amazon Home, and she told me that I was going to have a vision about the pack.”

“Which is this one you had now?”

She nods her head. “Yes.”

“How do you know about this library?” he questioned.

“I don’t know, I never knew there is a place like this. I swear.” She admitted. “I can’t even remember coming here. I don’t know anything about this place or the secret of The Book or how Sir Fred died or how your step mother poisoned the King.” Her eyes w¡dened, a short gasp escape her l-ips.

She didn’t know when they all came out. She wasn’t supposed to say it all straight to him. She hated herself for being too faster than her shadow.

“What did you just say?”

“I saw as she ordered them to kill the keeper. She also poisoned your father because she thought he had the magic book in his possession.”

“Why did she desperately wanted the Book?”

“She said it contained a secret only your ancestors know. She also said it was the only way to take over the pack from your father. So, she poisoned him.”

He nodded his head. “What did you see in,side the tunnel?”

Ana didn’t complain on the too much questions he asked her. she felt like he needed to ask her, and that he has every right to get every truth from her. And she was ready to tell it all to him.

“I saw the book. It was there Fred had hidden the it from your stepmother. I don’t know why he had to risk your father’s life for the Book.”

“He didn’t do it alone.”

“What are you talking about?” she asked confused.

“My father must have known what she was up too so, he planned it all up with Fred.”

“You don’t know about the Book?” she asked.
Shook his head. “No. I never lived with my father before he died. He had sent me to one of the states to live with my uncle. He was suppose to pass down the idea but, both him and Fred were gone before I returned back to the pack.”

He sighs. “Did you see what was written in the Book?”

“No, I didn’t.”

“But…” he paused, then continued. “Why didn’t you tell me all this earlier? You know we aren’t supposed to keep secrets from each other, especially stuffs like this. Ana, this is something that has to do with my pack. If anything happens to them, I will take the blame. Ana, why did you have to keep such a thing away from me?” he said bitterly.

“Kad, I didn’t want to see you worried. I knew I was going to tell you but I didn’t want to go ahead now. You barely have time for yourself and you haven’t had a nap for months. In as much as you care about your pack, I do care about you too.”

He touched her face, “I understand. But promise me you won’t keep any secret away from me no matter what.” He made her promise.

“I promise.” She swore.

“Did she tell you want your are. I mean, what your gift is?” he asked.

She nodded. “She called me a Seer. I see things, Kaden. I see things that have happened and those yet to happen.”

ILLIANA*

Now this was between Kaden and I. I was damn relieved after telling him about my visions and gift. The rest is up to him to do. Now, all we need is to find the book and know why his step mother desperately needs it to herself.

“While you were having the vision, you went down the tunnel. I guess the book is probably down there. Come, let’s go take a look.”

He held my hand as we both went down the tunnel, or would I rather say the hidden chamber. It was so dark and dusty. It’s probably years anyone has ever been down here, and it smells like damn… gross.

“Why aren’t the lights burning?”

“That’s because its been years anyone has come here.”

“But in my vision, when Fred was walking through, they all turned one after the other. Why isn’t it doing the same now?”

“Fred is a magician, we aren’t.”

“This is it.” She pointed at the metal coffin box before them. “This is where Fred hid the book.”

Kaden tried a million times for the box to open but it couldn’t. “Why isn’t it opening?” he asked.

“I don’t know.”

“Did he say anything when he opened it in your vision?”

“I…I… yes, he did. But they were in a Greece word and I have never listened to any Greece language before so I can’t recite them.”

“Hey, you just need to think and you will remember it all.”

“I can’t remember. He said those words quick so, I couldn’t get anything from what he said.”

“Look at me,” he held my face in his hands, “you can. I trust you. Close your eyes, concerntrate.” I shut my eyes close, meditating at the words of Fred when he opened the box.

Then I felt his l-ips on mine, they were moving slowly on mine. This wasn’t the passionate one, it was a k-ss To Remember. Everything, how they all happened and the words he had spoke displayed in my head over and over again. I loosened my l-ips from his as I whispered the words.

The box made cracking noise as it opened, a part of it shifted aside. The in,side part of the box was filled with dust and curb webs. Kaden deepened his hand in,side the box, taking the big brown book from it’s hiding chamber.

We stared at each other for a while, I shook my head. “I didn’t see him open it.”

“It doesn’t have a key h0le,” he discovered. “ but it’s sealed. How are we gonna open this book?”

“Why don’t we meet doctor Evans for help? I’m pretty sure he knows a lot about magic than anyone.”
