It was later that he saw the later and discovered it was his elder brother who had poisoned the food.

Assuming he had joined them to eat, he could have been dead.

But I was able to revenge on my elder brother but the death of my family especially my daughter had made me lost my joy and life was kinda meaning less to me but now I remembered my daughter last word because of what Peggy said.

I walked out closing the door behind me, I felt so confused on what to do.

Part of my mind was telling me to save and release her but my other mind was telling me not to.

I didn’t want to betray mike neither do I want to hurt that innocent girl that just remind me of my late daughter, and the pains in her eyes was more that I can handle.

I was busying something in the next street which Mon sent me to get for her.

I notice a black jeep, that jeep.

I saw that jeep the same day I was told to protect Peggy but it left immediately and no one notice it but I did.

I walked slowly towards the car and I can see a man making call.
💋💋MIKE POV💋💋

“James have finally been able to trap his daughter down” mike said to his co- friend who was his partner in crime

James was also envy of the governor success and had supported mike.

“That’s right, you need to show him that you’re more smarter than him”James said through the phone.

“Yes and I showed him that no matter how wise a tortoise can be, he will still be eaten by a lion”mike said and his friend burst out laughing.

“Where did you learn that proverb from cause that’s Nigeria thick proverb” James asked.

“Don’t forget I read wild” Mike said laughing.

*** DAVE POV***

O continued listening to the conversation, I was sure he was the one who kidnapped Peggy and I felt like punching his ass out.

I watched silently as he was he ended the call and looked around while I bent my head lower.

He entered his jeep, I quickly called my father and told him everything I saw and I decide to trace him.

JAKE POV

“Sir I think we’ve gotten a clue about where Peggy is”Jake said to the governor whose face lightened at the news.

“Where…let’s tell them to get ready” the governor said.

I supported the governor choice and I watches as he kept making call to some arm forces.

DAVE POV

I was able to trace him, I was even more surprised that the place was closer and the police had been investigating since one month not knowing the lion den was closer.

I his at the back of a tree, my heart was beating fast when I saw one of his men looking at the direction where I was hiding.

But he was coming closer but later turned away.

GUS POV
Have decide to save her, I was losing the rope tied on her when the door opened.

“What are you trying to go Gus, are you crazy”mike said when he noticed Gus was losing the rope and one of his men told him that he was trying to help her escape.

I didnt know what to say and I knew this was trouble but am ready to take the challenge cause am not ready to hurt an innocent girl.

“Mike we need to release her beside you know she has not done any wrong to us and she’s dying.”I said and I could see mike eyes turn to red.

Peggy looked at me and I titled my eyes away from her back to the devil’s face.

“How dare you think of betraying me”mike said bringing out a gun from his back pocket when we heard a gun shoot outside.

Don’t try anything silly, the wh0le place have been surrounded with police.

“You see what you caused, you called police for me, you betrayed me”mike said as he shot Gus on his leg.

Peggy scre-med trying to lose the remaining rope from her wa-ist.

Dave heard the gun shot outside and his heart beat fastly wondering if it was Peggy.

He quickly came out of his hiding place when he saw his father who also saw him and called him immediately he sighted him.

“Dave what are you doing here, just go home cause this place is dangerous”Jake said to his son.

“Nope dad, I also want to save Peggy since I wasn’t able to save her” Dave said walking away from his father.

MIKE POV

I knew my time was up and this beast had betrayed my trust for him.

I quickly called the other men telling them to spill the petrol around the house as soon as possible and they should light the fire.

I watched as Gus gro-ned in pain, I know its either I spend my life in prison for this or its a death sentence so have decide to die together with the governor daughter.

I felt a thick stick landing on my head, I fell down gro-ning in pain.

It was the governor daughter who did this, I didn’t realize she has free herself.
Peggy’s POV

Immediately I freed myself, I took a very big stick which was closer to me and quickly hit it on his head, it was not really hærd.
I was weak but hærd enough for him to fall down.

I perceive smoke and I quickly rushed to open the door when I felt someone drag my hair so tight, it was mike.

I kept on struggling with him and scre-ming and he kept on scratching me, I was bleeding.

DAVE POV

I could see flames of fire in,side, the police were in,side but the house was too huge.

I quickly rushed in and covered my nose with a white handkerchief cause of the smoke.

I shouted Peggy’s name, I could hear the siren of the fire fighters.
Peggy heard her name as soon as she was able to stab mike deep in the heart.

She looked at mike dead body and her hands were covered with blood.

She recongnise the voice to be Dave’s voice as she quickly drop the knife and shouted Dave’s name.

Dave heard his name and he was sure that was Peggy’s voice behind the closed door he had passed.

He rushed and opened the door, he saw Peggy beside a man who was in a pool of blood and the other man gro-ning.

Peggy’s hands was covered in blood stains.

I rushed as she rushed towards me embracing me tightly as she cried.

I kept on cuddling her hair as he cried.

“Its okay Peggy, we need to leave now”I said to her while looking at the dead body.

“I..killed him…I didnt want to kill him but it happened”Peggy said crying more and I kept on consoling her.

We were about to leave the stinky place covered with smoke, the fire kept on increasing and the smoke was becoming too much when Peggy stopped and she walked to the man who was already dying.

“Thank you”Peggy said hugging him and I was like what the heck is going on.

“Its OK…am glad that I saved you…please accept this from me”

Gus said coughing a he pulled out a necklace from his pocket and he wore it on Peggy’s neck.

“Thank you”Peggy said crying as she hugged him crying.

She just wished wouldn’t die but it was late cause the bullet had gone round his body.

“Take Care of it, its my gift to my daughter before she died and am giving it to you” Gus said breathing his last breath.

Peggy held him crying, Dave came towards her.

“Its okay let’s go”Dave said as Peggy stood up slowly.

They kept on walking fast because of the smoke but Peggy felt so weak and couldn’t move on again as she collapse in Dave’s hand.

Peggy’s POV

I woke up and everything was blur to me, I closed my eyes and opened it again and I saw Dave and my family looking at me.
“What” I said managing to sit up.

“Wow Peggy you made it”Peggy’s mom shouted holding her tight.

“Ahh mom you’re hurting me”she said as her mother touches the wound on her belly.

“Kira don’t hug her tight”the governor said as he also came closer to hug her.

Dave smiled looking at his father who smiled at him, he was glad he saved her, he only got a burnt hand.

“Dad what happened to me after”Peggy asked.

“You’ve been in coma for about two weeks but you’re ok now” the governor said smiling.

“dave thank you”Peggy said holding his hand.

Dave smiled as he held her hand too.

“hmm I can feel love anyway dave do you love Peggy” the governor asked him.

“Daddy” Peggy said but he smiled at her.

Dave didn’t know how to reply that, he was shy but he had to say the truth.

“Yes am inlove with her”he said looking at Peggy as she blushed at that smiling.

“Wow” his father said laughing.

“Peggy do you love him”Peggy’s father asked her.

“Yes daddy I do” Peggy said looking at Dave.

“Dave for saving my daughter life, you have my blessing to marry her and not only that I give all my will to you” the governor said and Dave felt like it was a dream.

The governor took Dave hand and put it on Peggy’s hand.

“You saved my daughter, you own her life now” the governor said and Dave hugged him tight before hugging Peggy’s mom.

Then he turned to Peggy who was smiling like she just saw an angel.

He hugged her before k-ssing her.

Dave said in his mind while k-ssing her.

I was thinking of how to day three words to you but then I found a way.

“I” feel very happy with you

“LOVE” is so beautiful.

“YOU”are enough for me in this life with you.

Peggy smiled as Dave as she said in her heart.

“I will never let you go no matter what the situation we are in, I love you.
