Escaping and getting out of Marida sure wasn’t easy, considering my condition but thanks to Jasmine’s medicine, I was able to feel a wh0le lot better, Thanks to Frahan we were both able to sneak out of Marida right under the noses of the guards keeping a look out for me and Jasmine.. Both Jasmine and I disguised ourselves as slaves of Al-muktar esc-rting Al-muktar’s merchandize out of the city… Even as we escaped out of Marida , we didn’t come off our disguises because we were still in Marida’s territory and we had to be careful of guards or assassins.
By night fall, we reached a small village outside Marida, it was like a boarder or a welcome sign into the provinces of Marida, Immediately, Al-Muktar’s caravan stopped there to rest for the night, Jasmine and I snuck out quietly and parted ways with Frahan,…… We bade well to each other, probably for the last time.

Frahan ➡ Farewell Sadiq… I hope this venture turns out well for you.

Sadiq ➡ Thank you my friend… I wish I could repay you for what you’ve done for us.. Risking the safety for your job and life.

Frahan ➡ it was nothing… You would have done the same for me… So looks like this is it.. I hope you find a place in Nishkapur.. If the gods will it, I may come visit sometime.

Sadiq ➡ I’ll be looking forward to it.. I’ll make sure you get a warm reception when you do.

Frahan ➡ Okay…See you then. Oh and Jasmine?

Frahan ➡ Take care of him.. He may not admit it but he needs you..

Sadiq ➡ Thanks Frahan.. Safe journey you too and stay safe.

After that, we parted and went our separate ways, Luckily for us we were able to steal two horses, some water and food supply to sustain ourselves during the journey..
Jasmine and I rode into the night, The des**t was quiet and still, only the breath of our horses and the galloping of their hoofs could be heard.. We rode fast for some time before we decided to take a rest, Especially Jasmine who wasn’t used to long distance horse riding..
As we took our rest, we brought some tents in case of sandstorms , we spread them and slept in them… Jasmine and I hadn’t spoke since we began this journey.. She was still mad at me for what I said to her at the palace, I wanted to talk to her but she wasn’t giving me the chance to.. It’s hærd keeping quiet without saying anything..

The next morning, we continued our journey riding straight towards our destination.. We didn’t even go far when Jasmine said she was tired and wanted to take a rest.

Jasmine ➡ Let’s stop Sadiq.. My behind aches and my wa-ist hurts..

Sadiq ➡ What?? But we haven’t rode that fast… Can’t you endure?

Jasmine ➡ Listen up brute… I’m a princess and a woman, while you are a man and a warrior prince.. There’s a wh0le lot different in our stamina and endurances.. All my life, I’ve lived in comfort not stress and I may be good in horse riding but my feminine features can’t handle long rides..

Sadiq ➡ Listen up you spoiled head, We won’t reach Nishkapur in time, if you continue doing this… If you want to get home.. You might as well endurance the hærdsh¡ps that comes your way..

Jasmine ➡ No.. I need to rest.. Its my way or nothing..

Sadiq ➡ Is that so? It’s either my way or you can get to Nishkapur yourself, without me you’ll definitely get lost in this des**t.

Jasmine ➡ Oh… Fine then.. You can go.. Go if you like.. I don’t need you.. You made that clear back at the palace.

Sadiq ➡ You know what… You’re selfish and ungrateful… After everything I’ve done for you, you’d still think that I’m wicked? If I hadn’t shown up at the house to save you… You’d be dead now like a c*ckroach or be sold to become a concubine to some rich womanizer..

Jasmine ➡ I HATE YOU!!! WHY DID I EVER GET STUCK WITH YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE? I should have left you dead back at the palace.

After that we both were quiet.. Jasmine climbed on her horse and rode off into the des**t… I stood watching where in the world she was going!
I climbed on my horse and followed her, I wouldn’t have followed her if I wanted but I made her a promise to take her back and besides I have to follow her so she wouldn’t get into trouble, After all she’s a woman and women are sure very hærd to please.
I followed her at a safe distance to as to avoid any unnecessary talks between us… As I was following her, Jasmine suddenly increased her pace and rode the horse faster increasing her speed… I followed her increasing my speed at well, Just before I could get closer to her, I s₱0tted her with some men who were also on horses as well.
As I reached to where she was, The men jumped me and grabbed hold of me, Jasmine stood watching and smiling as I was being held.

Sadiq ➡ Jasmine, what’s going on?

Man 1 ➡ Is he the one?
.

Jasmine ➡ Yes.. He’s the one… He’s been trying to kidnap me..

Sadiq ➡ What?? Jasmine what is this? This isn’t funny….

Man 2 ➡ Keep quiet dog…. You’re going to pay for your crimes… No more kidnapping young maidens crook.

Man 1 ➡ So where are you heading beautiful?

Jasmine ➡ I’m heading to Nishkapur…. Where are you heading?

Man 2 ➡ We are migrants … !

Jasmine ➡ migrants !?

Man 2 ➡ Yes.. Migrants.. We like move around… Staying in one place isn’t the kind of our life.

Jasmine ➡ Okay.. Well, do you mind if I tag along.. My father would pay you handsomely for my return.

Man 3 ➡ Okay you criminal… Let’s get going…

Sadiq ➡ You don’t understand… She’s lying to you.. I’m not kidnapping her.

Man 1 ➡ Shut up fool, don’t make us thrash you mercilessly… You should be grateful that we didn’t kill you.

I kept quiet after that, and followed them… For Two days, I was forced to walk on foot, I was given small amount of food and water.. The only time we rested was at nightfall.
The men treated Jasmine like a queen, and the stupid girl was busy dwelling in the royal treatment she was getting.. I wasn’t angry about jasmine selling me out like this but what I was angry about is the men she’s hanging out with… These men don’t look like migrants to me, Migrants always travel in groups, lots of groups but 3 men claiming to be migrants is just too weird..
On the third day, I found out who these bastards were… Later that night, I was outside tied close to the horses, Jasmine was fast asleep in her tent , The men in their own tents began to talk about something sinister.. So I became quiet and still listening to their conversations.

Man 2 ➡ Its been days now since I’ve had company.
.

Man 3 ➡ What are you talking about? You do have company, us!

Man 2 ➡ No fool, I’m talking about feminine companionsh¡p.. When was the last time you slept with a woman..

Man 1 ➡ You’re right.. But we don’t have any woman Here, except that young lovely lass.

I knew this men were up to now good… To think they would do such a things, some men have no dignity and honor.. Whilst, I was trying to find a way to free myself from the bounds.. I heard a growl and a heavy breath a few steps behind me, i didn’t turn around, the smell of the creature was enough to alert me and made me realize who it was.. It was one of those gigantic monsters that attacked us before.. Just where in the world could they be coming from… Realizing the situation, I laid down quiet and became still as if I was dead, The creature approached me and the horse with stealth, After sensing that I wasn’t aware of its presence, It proceeded to the tent where the men were.. Unfortunately for the bastards… One of them came out trying to sneak into Jasmine’s tent, as he came out he came face to face with the abominable creature.. He was stunned and paralyzed with shock to do anything as he was about to shout.. The beast bit his head off, the man struggled but it was of no use, His head soon came off its body , the beast threw his body away and began to chew the man’s head like bread.. It was terrifying to hear how the creature crushed the man’s skull with it teeth.
The other men hearing this commotion, came out to see what happened.. As they too came out, the beast killed them all, he grabbed one and smashed him to the ground after that, he placed his foot on him and squashed him like a tomato and as for the other one, the beast grabbed him with his two massive hands and spilt him in half.. It was terrifying and scary watching and hearing the men scre-m their last in brutal pain.
After that the creature went to Jasmine’s tent and tore it open, The creature approached Jasmine and picked her up… The silly girl woke up all of a sudden, maybe it was the stinky smell of the creature that woke her up, Immediately she realized the position she was in, She scre-med out loud, The creature used its massive hand and covered her nose and before long, Jasmine had passed out.
After that the creature disappeared with Jasmine into the night… I wanted to save her but confronting this beast only was a suicide attempt, the only way to kill this kind of monsters was attacking them from in,side and the only way to do that was through it’s mouth.
Still, I wasn’t going to leave her like that, I have to save her.. I’m not sure I could but I have to try.. After i cut myself loose, I picked up some food and weapons, Fortunately for me, Those poor b*stards had a bow and arrow, so I took it along with me, I took some valuable stuff with me, took one of the horses and rode towards to the direction of the creature, As I rode on the path the creature went with jasmine, i saw its footprint on the sand..I rode on faster so I wouldn’t lose its tracks… I’m not sure how i’m going to confront this situation but I have to try and save Jasmine.. No matter the stakes. I have to try.

I couldn’t believe the change in my fortune.. First I was heading home back to my father and now here I am together with some stinky man looking gigantic monsters whom had kept me close by where they could see me, i couldn’t escape if I wanted to and even if I did, it would be of no use because I had nothing to keep me alive out there in the des**t.
I couldn’t believe I was the only lone survivor, The men who had promised to take me home were all dead and as for Sadiq… Oh what have I done? The poor soul too is dead, Seeing his lifeless body close to the horses made me feel guilty for what I put him through.
Of course I was angry at him for what he said and i knew he was sorry but I wanted to make him feel hurt as well.. But what I did was brutal, He was my only chance of getting home and now he’s out there in the des**t sand laying down dead.
I cried of course cursing myself and regretting what I did.. But crying wouldn’t save me.. Not from this cannibalized creatures whom were busy enjoying themselves with human flesh, I heard those terrifying crunching sounds as they crushed bones in their stinky mouths, I couldn’t bare to watch this savagery…
And when they’re not eating, They start to fight unnecessarily among themselves, sometimes they shout and howl into the night as if they were communicating with some one.. Listening to this deafening and awful sounds made me feel uncomfortable.
I didn’t know how long I was here, cause the cave was always dark.. The creatures gave me food, and water but I couldn’t digest any of things into my stomach, not after seeing human remains everywhere, so eating food in this damned cave would make me throw up..
As if that wasn’t enough to make one crazy, There was a strong stench of black oil in the cave, the substance pops out from the ground and these Monsters sometimes used it to bath or use it to make fire sometimes to roast the human flesh they eat.. I was getting weak, and tired, I just wished I could just die.. Being unable to eat, sleep or do practically anything is just as good as being dead… As I lay quietly in my cave prison, I realized the creatures were asleep in,side their pool of oil, I saw a knife close to them, I reach out and grabbed the knife and stabbed one with it.. But to my surprise, it couldn’t penetrate.. In fact the knife broke and the creature whom I stabbed barely stirred from his sleep.
Giving up all hope, I went back to my place and lay down.. I started crying in that moment.. I kicked my feet high in the air in frustration, cursing my cruel fate.. In that moment, I prayed silently for the gods to get me out of her.. Even if I’m going to die, at least let me get away from this stinky creatures..
In that moment, Everything became quiet, I turned around facing looking at the top of the cave.. As I was staring absentmindedly up wards, I saw something or rather someone, up above, I sat up instantly looking up to see who was it.. In that moment, an arrow covered in fire flew straight into one of the creature’s mouth, The creature jumped up in that moment, shouting in pain as he jumped around, His companions woke up to see what was going on, seeing their comrade with an arrow in his mouth, The creatures raged and grabbed their weapons searching the cave for the intruder, but before they could get far, an flame arrow was fired and it landed in,side the pool of oil, Before we could all react, the pool exploded into huge pit of fire, the impact of the explosion was so powerful that it stunned and knocked me out, I lay helpless on the ground unable to move, my visions were blurry and my head was dizzy, Before long, I drifted into a void of total darkness.
I didn’t know how long I was unconscious but I was awaken by a ray of sunlight, I sat up looking dazed, it took me a while to regain my senses, After that, I looked around and saw I was in an open place, I was still in the des**t but this place was different, There were trees and a little pool of clean fresh water.. I stood up and rushed at the pool, I plunged into it drinking the water uncontrollably.. I drank, drank and drank more of this cool refreshing water, I had to wash my body with it, to clean of the stinky stench that hung around my body, After that, I went back to where I was and I saw a pile of lovely ripped dates and a piece of roasted meat, I gobbled them up without wasting any time.. It wasn’t much to sustain my hunger but it was better than nothing, After that, I laid down on the soft sand laughing and smiling.. Finally I was free from those ugly creatures.. As I looked up at the trees, I saw a man on top staring down at me, I quickly got up to see the man clearly and to my surprise, it was Sadiq.
I couldn’t believe it.. I thought he was dead, I had to pinch myself to realize if this was a dream.. Maybe I was in paradise. Sadiq starred at me without saying anything but after a while, he spoke.

Sadiq ➡ I hope you’ve had your fill..

Jasmine ➡ How long were you up there? Did you see me bath?
.

Sadiq ➡ Does it matter?
.

Jasmine ➡ How did I get here? I thought you were dead?
.

Sadiq ➡ I’m not dead.. As you can see.. And as for how we got here.. Well I saved your life.

Jasmine ➡ You!? Saved my life? But how…..
.

In that moment, my memories came back to me.. I remembered everything that happened back in the cave, so he was the one that fired that arrow.. I couldn’t believe it..

Jasmine ➡ So what about the monsters? How did you….
.

Sadiq ➡ I killed them.. Their skin is impossible to penetrate but their mouth however.. That’s their weakness.

Jasmine ➡ Oh.. Uhm.. Thank you for..
.

Sadiq ➡ Save it.. Get into the tent, there’s a sandstorm coming.
.

And true to his words, there was a huge sandstorm coming.. Soon, he and I bought both entered the tent, it wasn’t enough to contain us but we had to manage..
As we were sheltering ourselves from the sand storm, Sadiq said nothing to me, in fact he ignored me completely.. I on the other hand wanted to apologize to him for what I did.. I felt so guilty and ashamed for what I did to him.. To think he would risk his life to save me from those abominable creatures.. If it were someone he would have left me to die in that cave but he didn’t.. He came for me and I know he’s hurt about what I did. I just couldn’t sit still and do nothing.. I have to apologize..
It took some time and some courage to face him in the face and apologize to him.

Jasmine ➡ Uhm.. Sadiq?

Sadiq ➡ Yes? What is it?
.

Jasmine ➡ I Uhm.. waned to apologize to you for what I did.. I’m sorry.. I truly am..
.

Sadiq ➡ Enough jasmine.. That’s enough.. I’m sure you had humiliated enough to your satisfaction but just to let you know I’m not angry at you.

Jasmine ➡ No! No! I….
.

I didn’t know when I started crying.. Sadiq flinched as he heard me crying.. He turned around and looked at me in surprise wondering why I was crying.

Sadiq ➡ What’s the meaning of this?

Jasmine ➡ (sobs) I.. I.. I’m sorry.. I know you’re angry even if you won’t admit it.. I’m sorry I treated you that way.. I just wanted you to feel.. (cries)

Sadiq ➡ Oh… Look, jasmine there’s no need for you to cry… I already told you I’m not angry at you .

Jasmine ➡ are you serious?

Sadiq ➡ Yes.. Now go to sleep.. The storm is going to last a night..

Sadiq cuddled himself and covered himself with his cloak, I sat down looking down at him, wondering how he’s managing to sleep in this tight space, After a while, I got tired and it was getting a bit cold around us.. So I cuddled up to Sadiq and lay tightly next to him.. Sensing this, He woke up and asked what was happening.
