PART 3: NEPHALEDIA!

EIGHT YEARS LATER

Anjiala

I sat lazily like a dead woman on the armchair in my bedroom with eyes closed. My legs were crossed, the higher foot bouncing in the air. The lights in my room were turned off and a glass of wine which name I don’t care to know was in my left hand. The song playing was sad and I liked it that way because my life was sad.

Why?

One, my mother died four years ago, she was pregnant again, slipped at the stairs and well, you know the rest. Santiago still hadn’t gotten himself since he believes he’s cursed. His first and second wife died, that’s painful. Two, dad also died. I’m not suppose to care but either way, he still remain the man whose sp**m brought me into this world. Not sure what killed him. Three, I was 29 and single.

Do you know how lonely that is?

Technically, I was ready a long time ago to move on from Aramis since he wouldn’t come even though he could but I couldn’t. My stupid heart won’t let him go and Ariana kept encouraging me to for reasons best known to her. The mark was another problem and the vision I had, it made so much sense to move on to avoid such fate but noooo, my heart wouldn’t listen.

I was stuck hærd.

I couldn’t even tell anyone about the vision.

Now, what’s up with the others?

Ariana was married and rocking off her medical career. She became so mature minded the very moment she became a mom, the power of motherhood. She had two beautiful angels, Coco, her five years old daughter and 18 months old son, Cole. They are the cutest in the world. Abbiana, she married first because Zino and her decided to have a baby but unfortunately for her, she couldn’t conceive.

It felt like I was the loser sagging behind, if he didn’t want me anymore, he should have just come and removed his stupid mark. I sighed and emptied the wine into my mouth. Drinking wasn’t really helping my life but whatever.

‘Anji! Anji!’ I heard Abbie squealed. She was running up to my room. She would probably wake up Zander, he lived with me since he chose to. Santiago wasn’t in his right mind to take care of a boy as special as him. She opened my door and squeaked. ‘Why is this place so dark?!’

‘Abbiana slow down before you hurt yourself,’ Arie said from behind her. ‘Why is this room so dark?’ She flicked the light switch on and they both frowned at me. I waved at them.

‘Oh hey besties, wuzz up?’ I slurred with a lazy salute. Arie walked to me. ‘Hi best of the best sissy,’ she took the wine glass and sighed. ‘What?’ I giggled.

‘You’re drinking again,’ she took the almost empty wine bottle and walked to the bar in my room. Abbie was already close to me. She sat on the arm of the chair and stroke my hair worriedly. ‘You should stop this.’

‘Come on gurls, I’m just celebrating my thirteenth year of loneliness, cheers….oh wait, you were happy two minutes ago before I ruined it with my pettiness. What is it?’

‘I was going to let you know that Arie did the test for me again, I’m finally pregnant.’ She said sadly.

‘Come on, cheer up. That’s great news!’ I chirped trying to sit up. ‘Have you told him?’ She nodded. ‘Was he excited?’

‘He bought me a new car and took me out. He treated me like a queen all through the night.’ She said shakily.

‘I trust my bro, always so caring and loving. We should celebrate! Ann, bring more drinks!’

‘No, enough drinking, please.’ She pleaded softly.

‘But I didn’t taste any alcohol through out last week and the week before that and the week before that, why? Zanny is watching me, he’ll be so mad if I dare take it so don’t tell him. Shhhhhhh….’ I slurred and laughed. I shook my head and slapped my cheeks lazily. ‘I’m okay!’

‘What are we going to do about her? Shouldn’t we just find her a boyfr….oh, the mark.’

‘I don’t need a boyfriend, I need Aris.’ I pouted. ‘**** him.’

‘Okay, I have an idea. Let’s celebrate by going clubbing!’

‘Abbiana!’

‘What? I’m trying to cheer her up.’

‘Remember your pregnancy is really delicate, alcohol will kill it and so will stress.’

‘I’m just going to dance, that’s all.’

‘Abbie don’t encourage her or I’ll report you to Zino.’

‘I just need to…..’ I left them to argue as I sank to the floor and crawled to the wine bar. My plan was to run after taking one. I didn’t raise my head, I only raised my hand and collected a bottle. I brought it down and opened it, I was hiding away from them. I drank the champagne but spat it out.

‘Urgh! Green tea!’ I frowned and looked up to see two golden angry eyes staring at me. I grinned. ‘Hi Zanny,’ I said grinningly. He didn’t smile. ‘Look, I’m just checking if it has expired.’ Still didn’t smile. He stretched his hand, I obediently gave him back the bottle and stood up. ‘Annoying younger brother.’ I walked back to my chair while the girls stared at me with a laughing smile.

It’s not my fault my twelve years old brother was acting like my dad. He’s too strict and bossy, always telling me what to do and I can’t resist. Stupid king authority.

‘Anjiála, what did I tell you about drinking?’ He asked stridently with arms folded and a stone cold look.

‘Drink as you want!’

‘Anji,’ he growled.

‘Don’t sniff any alcohol, don’t stare at it and don’t even think about it. Don’t you dare drink it either, it’s not good for your health.’ I murmured averting my eyes to his feet. ‘Nice flip-flops!’

‘Don’t even play cute with me right now. Drinking will not solve your problem.’

‘Will dying?’

‘Don’t be like that,’ he snapped. ‘And the two of you were sitting here watching her!’

‘Hey! Don’t drag us into this. You know she’s stubborn!’ Arie exclaimed. He looked at me like he was going to shave my head.

‘I guess I should do what I should have done a long time ago.’

‘Remove the mark from my back!’ I squealed.

‘I told you that I can’t do that.’ I whimpered and pouted. ‘I’m destroying all of these.’ He pointed to the bar. I gasped

‘You can’t do that!’

‘Can you stop me?’ He asked challengingly with arched brow. I looked at my feet and closed my eyes. ‘I didn’t think so.’ He clapped his hands and the wh0le bar shattered to pieces. All the content spluttered out, splashing everywhere. ‘When you’re done wallowing, clean it up. Please dress up, let’s go for a walk.’ He disappeared.

I smiled, I did love his authoritative personality, suits his kingliness. I sometimes wonder if he’s the same little boy I once knew.

Oh well!

‘I still have spare, ha!’ I laughed and stood up. Arie chuckled.

‘Anjiála….’

‘Yes love number two?’

‘Change.’

‘When elephants grows claws.’ I sang. ‘I need to write a new song, any ideas?’ I turned and stood with arms akimbo. They rolled their eyes. ‘Guess not,’ I skipped to my wardrobe. ‘I don’t need help though, I’m White Feline.’ They sighed. I changed my outfit and skipped out. ‘Be a darling and clean that up for me!!!!! Thank you!!!!!’ I shouted, I didn’t even need to shout.

‘Anjiála!!!!’ He yelled from his room. I laughed, sometimes I think I’m going crazy…..nay! ‘You’re not going crazy! You’re already insane!!!!’

‘Thank you, we are both insane!!!’ I laughed like a witch and ran downstairs.

I paced my room agitatedly, my plans weren’t working, Aramis was succeeding in avoiding the fate I had tampered with. By the time the galactic lunar ecl¡pse arrives, he’ll break the curse and I’ll have no power to control her fate anymore. He had White block him from keeping contact with my tool, if I don’t get her here before the ecl¡pse, he’ll be free and I’ll be destroyed.

She’s still waiting for him and he will go after the ecl¡pse but that will be bad for me. I need her here.

How do I get her over to Nephaledia when all the portals are locked?

How do I bring Aurora here?

I scre-med and threw my hairbrush at my mirror. It smashed to pieces. I scattered my hair, time was running out!

‘Useless serpent of Hades, why can’t you give me ideas for once! Do I have to do everything myself!’ I yelled at my pet serpents.

‘We have an idea,’ they hissed.

‘Better not be about food!!!’

‘No my queen.’

‘Well?! Out with it!!!!’ They flinched.

‘Why not use the boy? He’s got as much powers as Aramis. If only there was a way to reach him, he’ll do anything for his sister which includes opening the portals.’ I smiled.

‘For once, your heads aren’t useless. I know exactly how to achieve that.’ I smirked deviously.

Let’s see how smart you are Aramis.

To be continued.
