‘You are joking right?? I mean the Prom and everything you’re joking right??’..I asked Brody as he brought out a carton of milk from the refrigerator…

‘I hate Prom Payton and you of all people should know that’..He replied pouring the milk into a glass cup…

‘Yeah i know you hate Prom but what i don’t get is that you don’t want to go with me.Brody every girl’s dream is to go to prom with her boyfriend!!’..I said aloud and he scoffed…

‘Payton it’s just a night of wearing dresses and tuxedos and sodas and dancing.What’s so special about it??’..He replied…

‘Everything is special about it Brody!! Everything is special about Prom! WHY ARE YOU BEING SO INSENSITIVE!! Ever since you were in the hospital I’ve been with you ever since?! I never left your side and now when it comes to doing something for me you’re backing out?!!’..I scre-med slamming my hand on the kitchen counter…

‘Ever since I’ve gotten well I’ve noticed a change of attitude in you every single day,Payton what the hell is wrong with you nowadays?? You don’t even regard me anymore?? Fine you’re still the girl i like but you don’t waste any opportunity to slap the fact that you were with me in the hospital on my face.What have i even done to you to deserve it??’..He replied and before i could say anything else he rinsed the milk into the drain and dropped the glass walking away.I followed him outside and when he sat down near the pool i frowned…

‘Brody give me one instance where I’ve rubbed your surgery on your face??’..I said and he scoffed..

‘Last week when you asked me to give you a ride to Serani’s.I said no and you bursted into tears saying that I never support you with anything.Then just last night when I told you that I was too tired to help you with the dishes you broke into tears again saying the same and lastly—Ten minutes ago’..He replied opening a magazine on Sports..

‘W..well that’s cause it’s true!!’..i protested…

‘You see?? The Payton I know isn’t difficult and pig headed,the Payton I know is sweet and considerate.If there’s something bothering you then you better tell me cause there’s really been a Change in your attitude’…He said and slipped on his dark sunglasses.I humphed a bit and walked away angrily thinking he would call me back but no..

He just continued with what he was doing while I just slumped down on the bed crying…

The.Next.Morning

‘A change in attitude??’..Serani exclaimed as I stuffed my geometry text book in,side my locker…

‘Yes Serani he said I have a change in attitude ever since he came out of coma I mean can you even believe it?? I was with the dude through thick and thin and now he says I’m inconsiderate and I have a change in attitude’..I retorted and she frowned a bit..

‘You know he’s not far from wrong Payton,you’ve been really distant and you flare up at every given second.Yeah I know that you helped him and was there for him in his time of need but it isn’t really necessary to throw it in his face?? And what’s so special about Prom anyway?? It’s just a night and besides Trevor and I aren’t even sure of going’..She said..

‘Oh come on Serani you too?? I don’t have a change in attitude why does everyone keep telling me that?!!’..

Brody’s POV

Things were so complicated between Payton and i that we couldn’t even keep eye contact with each other.I sighed deeply as she laughed on and on with Charles Wickon over something he said..

But why do i even care??..

I know that this is all a plot to make me Jealous and get me to go to Prom with her…

‘You should really think twice before pushing me Payton’..i muttered under my breath and she chuckled softly..

‘You’re always so serious with everything’..She said and linked her arm around my neck…

‘Hmmm me likey’…I murmured and k-ssed her softly on the l-ips.We both laughed and she snuggled under my chin,I k-ssed her forehead and just then Charles walked past us..

‘See you later on Prom night Payton and..uhmm hey Brody’..He said with a surprised look on his face…

‘What’s he talking about Payton??’..i asked..

‘Ohhh well since you refused taking me to Prom Charles asked me and I agreed’…She replied..

‘Payton you must be joking right??I thought the plan was for the both of us to have fun that night??’..I asked and she frowned..

‘You never said anything about that until now Brody.We’ll talk about this later I’ve got a class to attend’..She said and k-ssed my cheeks before leaving…

She just doesn’t get the fact that I’m planning something super special for her on Prom night…

Our own personal prom night..

Since she was so bummed about me not going to Prom night I made a reservation for the both of us with the help from my mom at Spago’s,a very famous restaurant in LA..

But now i don’t think she’s really worth it..

I thought Payton was different from the rest but I guess i was wrong…

She’s just like the rest of them all…

‘Good now I’m free so let’s talk about what you were saying about earlier’..Payton said as she sat next to me in the basketball court…

‘Payton do you love me??’..I asked..

‘Yeah i do love you and you know that so what’s with the question??’..She replied and I smiled..

‘Payton don’t go to Prom if you really love me,I want you to be with me that night’..

‘Why??’..She asked suddenly flinching…

‘Cause I don’t want you to Payton I mean how could you possibly think of going out with another guy just be cause I refused??’..I said with my temper rising..

‘Yes Brody!! prom night is my night to sparkle!! We could be Prom king and queen for heavens sakes!!!’..She screened…

‘Since when did you start caring about what the wh0le school think?! Payton what the hell has gotten into you it’s like you’re a different person entirely!!!’..i scre-med and she scoffed…

‘Payton i think we need a break’..I interrupted..

‘So..so..so you want a break from me?? You want to break up with me??’..I stuttered in tears as the gravity of Brody’s words hit me fully..

‘I’m not breaking up with you Payton I’m just need a break from you.You clearly don’t want me anymore and I’m going to give you enough time to think about the path you’re going down’…He replied walking away and I held him back…

‘Brody please you’re not gonna really do this are you?? You’re not gonna break up with me are you?!’..

‘Payton please let me go cause I’m tired okay?? You literally throw it in my face like I’m dependent on you!! Fine I know you were there for me when i needed you and I’ll be grateful forever but you just changed Payton.What happened to the sweet angel i know?? The Payton that cries whenever i tease her or prank her??’..He replied..

‘That Payton died a long time ago Brody and yeah you’re right but we don’t need a break cause we’re over!!!’…I cried out and he stopped dead in his tracks…

‘We’re really over?!’..

‘Yes Brody we’re over!!’..I scre-med and he nodded bending his head backwards as if to hold up the tears in his eyes…

‘Fine then.It was a pleasure loving and dating you Payton’..He muttered under his breath and I nodded too..

‘You did what?!!’..Serani yelled as i broke the news to her..

‘I broke up with Brody Serani I don’t think I need to say it again’..I replied and she scoffed loudly..

‘You can’t be serious Payton!! Brody really likes you!!’..She yelled..

‘He said he need a break from me!!’..I protested..

‘Yeah cause you’ve been acting like a jerk lately!! Even i

noticed it.It’s just like the camping trip we went to months ago,you were so fame hungry that you hurt everyone around you and now you want to go back to that kind of situation?! What’s so special about Prom!!!’..She yelled and everyone’s attention focused on the both of us…

‘Thanks Serani!! Announce the news to the wh0le school’..I whispered and she sighed..

‘You shouldn’t do this Payton you’re acting like a jerk!! You’re not yourself but you can’t end the wh0le relationsh¡p with Brody I mean that guy is all gooey-gooey because of you’..She said..

‘He doesn’t want to go to Prom with me so Charles wick asked me and i agreed’..I whispered back..

‘You agreed?? Jeez Payton it’s like your brain is on auto pilot or something’..
