Brody’s POV

‘I don’t care Evan I just have to be with her cause i have a bad feeling that she needs me’…I muttered under my breath as I dumped some stuffs into my briefcase..

‘You are really funny aren’t you?? Both your moms don’t want you two together and you’re going against it??For heavens sake it might just be a fever and she might not be pregnant??’..He replied holding my left arm and I slapped it off immediately..

‘I just have to see her Evan and then I would be perfectly fine no doubt cause i can’t concentrate knowing she’s not okay!!’..I said aloud…

‘Whoa you’ve really been burned by this lady and it’s getting the hang of you so just chill man and besides you’re both adults so anything that happens is for the best no doubt’..He replied.I took a deep breath and took all the contents out of the case and downed a glass of water thereafter,he got a call about something that had to do with a project and left…

I flipped through the pages of my notebook and just before I could do anything else mom walked in..

‘Hey baby’..She murmured and I frowned as she dropped a bag of groceries…

‘Hi mom have you come here to destroy my life the more??’..I replied in a sarcastic drawl and she smiled…

‘Haha Brody you’re still brooding over that Payton girl?? She’s even forgotten about you don’t you see?? Just leave her alone please and by the way Mr Cullen’s daughter Amelia has been admitted into this school??’..She said and i almost let out a scoff…

If only she knew that i call Payton almost twice in every hour…

‘I don’t care about any other person else mom I only care about one person and that’s Payton’..I muttered..

‘Well that’s a shame cause I don’t care about that dirty gold digging girl,i just came here to drop some groceries so bye bye and Brody —Don’t try anything stupid and I don’t want to see you with her!! It’s better the both of you are apart’…

Payton’s POV

I puked again into the toilet bowl and wiped my mouth with the back of my hand,Mom was already serving the customers thereby giving me the perfect opportunity to sneak out of the restaurant without her noticing me.I ran to the nearest pharmacy goods store and picked out a pregnancy kit ignoring the peering eyes from the passersby…

‘That’ll be 22 dollars please’..The counter lady said..

‘22 dollars?? Okay fine then’..I grumbled and brought out the little stash of cash I’ve been hiding.I hid the kit under my hoodie as i walked past mom again saying that I was about to use the bathroom upstairs and when I got there I sighed deeply,I brought out the pregnancy kit from the packet and read the instructions at the back before taking action…

‘Payton what are you?!!…’..Mom’s voice trailed off as she opened the door of the bathroom and I flinched..

‘Payton??’…

‘Mom..m..Mom it’s not what you think’..I stuttered in tears as I saw the shocked look on her face..

‘Payton it’s not wat I think?? You’re with a pregnancy kit in your hands and you’re saying it’s not what I think??’..She replied..

‘Fine then!! There’s no use hiding the truth anymore!! I think I..i..I think I’m Pregnant for Brody’..i said and her eyes w¡dened..

‘You are pregnant?!!’..

‘No mom I think I am!! I’m having symptoms but it doesn’t mean I’m pregnant??’..

Payton’s POV

I quivered a bit as mom handed the pregnancy test kit over to me with a very disappointed look on her face,i went into the toilet and peed a little waiting for the results and in a minute a blue dot appeared…

So it’s settled then…

I’m carrying Brody’s baby…

‘So are you happy now?? You’ve finally gotten what you wanted’..Mom said as I came out of the bathroom with a downcast look on my face…

‘Mom I really messed up no doubt but this wasn’t intentional i promise you.The truth is that..is that..is that I’m no longer a kid mom?? I’m 21 and I can make my decisions for myself,I don’t need to be told what to do anymore or what’s good and what’s not good for me?? Please mom you’ve got to understand that I really love him and I’m still a little bit shocked about the pregnancy but it is what it is mom…It is what it is’..I said with tears in my eyes and she paused for a while before taking me into her arms…

‘You are a wonderful girl Payton and I’m sorry for really not listening to you,I’m going to do that from now on’..

‘I’m happy you realise this mom but there’s no need for jubilating anyway cause his mom hates me,I think I’m just gonna move on’..I said as my face withdrew into a sad one and a tear slipped down my cheeks…

‘So you don’t want to tell him about the baby?? he can’t go Scot free Payton!! I’m not ready to let my daughter drop out of school and suffer because of a boy?? No way!! You can’t be here pregnant while he’s out there fulfilling his need!! There’s no way I’m going to let that happen!!’..She yelled..

‘No mom you don’t understand!! His mother hates me and i can’t bear looking her in the eye knowing that she has pure contempt for me!! You know what?? I don’t even know if I can keep this baby anymore cause I’ve —

‘Would you shut the hell up?!!! You are going to give birth to this child and then go back to school when the child is of age!! Brody is going to know about the baby cause he’s the father and he has a responsibility towards you!! I don’t care about his mom even though she has done a lot for me but she’s got to respect her son cause he’s no longer a kid anymore!!!’..She yelled and my head hung low..

‘Mom please don’t say anything to Brody’.I muttered and ran upstairs,I brought out the little pouch I’ve been hiding and brought out the little money I’ve been saving,counted it and it amounted to a thousand dollars which was nearly enough to leave for Oklahoma and start a new life without any form of restriction..

I’m not ready to ruin Brody’s life and make him drop out because of my mistake..

That’s why I’m gonna leave…

A Week Later

I checked the time for the fifth time in a row and stared back at Amelia Cullen with whom my mom set up a date with.She had huge brown eyes that complimented the highlights of her hair,extremely tall,big busts but when it comes to Payton she’s no where near beautiful..

‘So uhh I see you have a house and a car’..She said nervously..

‘Isn’t that obvious??’..I retorted and she chuckled…

Like what’s even funny??

‘So you are single??’..She asked again..

‘No I’m not,I have a girlfriend’..i replied and i noticed a gleam in her eyes..

‘Well then why are you here with me??’..

‘Cause my mother forced me to!! Look Amelia I’m not tryna hurt your feelings or anything but I find you a little bit weird’..I said standing up…

‘Weird??? How on earth am I weird?!!’..She yelled and I arched my brows…

‘There’s an Antler horn head piece on your head’..I muttered..

‘Well they’re fashionable!!!’..She exclaimed and I shook my head as I got into my car and drove away…

I can’t believe my mom set me up on a date with this freak.

I drove back home and to my utmost surprise Mrs Carlson was standing right in front of my porch with a distressed look on her face..

‘Mrs Carlson what are you doing here?? Oh my God is Payton okay??’..i asked as i rushed out of the car…

‘No she’s not okay Brody she’s gone missing and she’s also pregnant’..
