Episode 2

My mom was neither on the mat nor anywhere in the room, where could she have gone, I pondered fearfully

but remembered she doesn’t stay up to this time in the house.

I said a short prayer and stood up not forgetting to yawn and stretch myself, I walked to the little table in our room to check if she kept any letter for me, and yes she did.

“I would have loved to accompany you to the school but you know the nature of our business, I have to go early so I can reach on time,
I’ve already warmed the food, I also kept some money in your suitcase, use it for your transport,

After reading the letter, I thanked God for blessing me with such a lovely mom and rushed to our bathroom room, had my bath, and went back to the room, it was already 10 minutes to seven when I finished preparing,

As I got in,side the school, I discovered they were already conducting assembly,
Hmmm, I wasn’t used to being shy but what I saw made me ashamed,

The students lined up beautifully at the assembly ground,
The females were in milky white tops with black stripes, they also put on black bowties and black berets,
Seniors had long-sleeved hands while juniors were short,
They were all in black pleated skirts with brown and milky white stripes,
Black shoes and milky white stockings with black stripes.
The male students were also in the same designs but had no berets and their ties were normal male ties,
The senior ones had long trousers while the juniors were in shorts,
Their shoes were these beautiful Nike air maxes.
I totally forgot myself as I observed them with wow looks,
I even forgot that what I was wearing was my former school uniform which was already old and rumpled.

I was still busy admiring them when I heard a voice from behind, “who is this Bush meat, I looked back and saw a male student joining hands with another student (female)
There was no doubt the guy was a senior cuz his trouser was long,

Good morning I greeted but he didn’t care a bit,

What the hell are you doing here, does this place look like a zoo to you,” he asked And the girl with him chuckled and walked to the assembly ground,

What is your mission here, “he asked again and focused his gaze on me,

I’m a new student, “I replied calmly,

What! Are you kidding,” he chuckled, how could you just prepare and come all the way from a local ranch to this place, did you hear that we’re training wildlife here? Wait or you have some bush meat in that suitcase,” he mocked and I felt so bad,
Is this really what I will be going through till I graduate here?

You know what you gon’ do now?,” he asked and I shook my head negatively hoping he says something cool,

Just the same way you entered here with your trash and garbage, make a U_turn right now and get lost before I blink
