CHAPTER ELEVEN:

They almost made it to me but they suddenly stopped when the lights of an incoming car shone at them, covering their eyes with their hands.

The door and whoever that was in the car stepped out.
My eyes w¡dened in surprise, as I watched him fully out of his car.

He walked to my direction, “Get in,side the car.” He commanded and I saw myself doing so.

From the in,side, I watched the little drama that was going on between them.
The windows were tinted so I watched from the front window.

My hands were squeezed, my heart pounding so fast that I could hear it from the outside.
They were pointing guns at him, and I was ready to zoom off if he ends up being a dead corpse.

But the wh0le thing happened in a blink of an eye as only there was only a ‘one man standing’.
My heart wasn’t beating against my chest, this time it was beating against my throat.

“One more step and I’ll shot you.”I heard the head of the four say.

He rose his both hands up in a surrendering way. “I’m not gonna hurt you, your friends are alright. But if you pull the trigger, you’ll hate what I’ll do. ”

” I don’t care what you say, just a step and I won’t minding having your brains blasted!”

He chuckled, making a step. ” Now pull the trigger. ”

” I said don’t move!” He was shivering.

He made another step, “pull the trigger or I do it myself.” He threatened.

There was something he did that made the guy with the guy tremble the more, dropping the gun to the ground, he ran as fast as he can, not looking back.

For a moment, he stood, shutting his eyes close then opening it again before making his way back to the car.

The car started and we were off on the road. I was so scared where I am, even a single word was so difficult to leave my mouth.

But all this, I managed to say “thank you for saving my life.”

He said nothing but look at me, returning his gaze back to the steering.
“You shouldn’t be out in the dark.” He said after a while.

“I was on an errand.” I simply said, then another silence erupted.

He looked at me as if he saw something move on my face. “You’re bleeding.”

Oh… The cut!

I wiped off the blood from my wounded cheek with the back of my hand, cleaning it on my jeans.

You never know how strange he would stare at me as I dried up the blood, as if he was searching for something on my face.. something he couldn’t find.

After I had totally cleaned up the blood, he looked away, back to the steering.
My brain wasn’t at rest… It wouldn’t be.

I rested my head on the passenger seat, looking outside the window.
Many questions filled my head, questions I don’t know where to start asking.

But there was this single question that won’t let me be.
“How did you know I was there?”

Again, he looked at me, taking it off. ” I was passing by when I saw your little drama with those men.”

“That wasn’t any drama, I was saving my ass. “He looked at me, giving me a hærd gaze.

My heart made a hærd beat at the way he sternly looked at me.
in,side me, I was praying he wouldn’t ask me any questions and I myself won’t do that either.

I was much more comfortable with the awkward silence than to his annoying stare.
They were sweet yet dangerous to look at.

Hold on, am I really saying that?
«Snap the shit off, Elise….»

“My house is at the left turn.” I said, pointing at the left direction.

I know my journey to aunty Vera’s house was quicker when I had walked but returning back home, it seems like an endless journey.

I don’t know if that’s because I’m sitting my ass in my new principal’s car. Or because, I’m just imagining me walking to aunty Vera’s house was more faster.

Jeez, I’m overthinking…

“Here.” I said and he suddenly stopped. My eyes, drifted to his hands, he was bleeding and his bloods were making its way down to his wrist.

“You’re bleeding?” I said, almost like a question. “Let me see.”

“It’s nothing.” He refused, moving his hands away.

“You helped me, let me help you.” I was expecting him to withdraw his hands the moment I touched it but he didn’t.

I tore the fabric of my shirt, dividing it into halves. I tired one around his palm and the other on the other hand.

I noticed him looking at me as I tore out again fabric, using it to clean up his rolling bloods.
“At least, this can help till you get home. “I said, my eyes meeting his.

And we were like that for what took like minutes. I cleared my throat, “Thanks for the ride.” I opened the door, shutting it close as I headed in,side.

I went straight to my room, dropping my laptop on my bed, quickly surfing through my internet.
I googled things I can’t even imagine existed and when I typed “HUMANS WITH FANGS.”

I typed again… “VAMPIRES.”

I read through the descriptions, I found out somethings they had explained were something I noticed in Mr Noméd few minutes ago.

I don’t wanna believe what I am thinking but…Hold on…

His he…?
He is…??
Oh, my God!!

He’s definitely not what I’m thinking, is he?

“Flo, Lora, there’s something I wanna tell you guys.”

“You saw Daniel?” Lora quickly asked.

“No… ”

” Found a new boyfriend? “Flo added.

” Not that either. Look, something happened last night and… ”

” You almost got raped?! “Flo exclaimed.

“Sort of..”

“Oh, Elise, don’t tell me you’ve been disV-rgined. ” Flo said, sounding concerned.

” No, I wasn’t raped!” I almost yelled. “Can you at least listen to me, please. ”

” We’re listening. ” They said in unison.

I sighed. “Last night I met this guy’s who almost raped me but thankfully I was saved by your crush, “I said, referring to Flo. Her eyes w¡dened,

” My crush? ”

” Yes. But something is odd about this your boyfriend, he was bleeding and when I checked it out, he was bleeding from the cut of his fingers pierced into his skin. Like someone who was trying to calm himself down from exploding. ” I explained.

I watched their face change to a confused expression.
” Guys please don’t tell me I was talking to myself.”

“No you weren’t, Elise but there’s nothing weird about that.” Flo defended, ” he was actually saving your pathetic ass from being used. Maybe he just doesn’t want to kill anyone so he had to hold himself from exploding. ”

” He scared one of them away by a mere look. ”

” It’s very much possible, just the same way you scare a rat by just looking at it, it’s applicable to humans too. ” She said.

” Flo, I can’t believe you can be this annoying at times. You really don’t help matters at all. ”

” Just saying the fact, ” she shrug.

” Lora? ” I called, turning my gaze to her. “What do you think?”

“I think Flo is right.” She said and Flo winked, “Did he folded his fist?” She asked.

I thought for a while before saying a “yes.”

“Does he have a tall fingers?”

Is that necessary?

Yet, I still said a ” yes, a s-xy long fingers.” to her.

“That’s it, he probably was trying to control himself. Just like mine, ” she rose her fingers, ” if I were to do the same, it would definitely happen to me.”

“You guys think I’m lying? ”

” Elise, no one is saying you’re lying, we are just trying to explain to you that vampires doesn’t exist. It’s just a fairy tale stories to scare the shit out of us. ”

It’s a fairy tale stories as they say, but it’s more of a reality to me.

If my instincts are still right about what it’s telling me, then, there’s no doubt that Mr Noméd is my nightmare.
