I wasn’t sure what was going to happen as I arrived at the door step of our mansion but after a deep long breath, I opened the door and went in,side.
My father and Mom, Xavier, Olivia and Jake were all in the living room when I walked in, Father’s eyes looked up and met with mine, I realized his mood wasn’t pleasant at all and I knew I must have done something really really bad.

Gwen ➡ Greetings Father.

Derrick ➡ Have a seat.

Gwen ➡ Okay.
.

Even as I took my seat, Father didn’t say anything, he just looked down with his hands clasped, Jake was busy making a slaughtering sign on his neck indicating I was really in deep shit, I gave him a middle finger 🖕 in the presence of Mom, who was gesturing me to behave myself. Moments later, Dad found his found and spoke to me.

Derrick ➡ After all these years.. I’ve done everything within and beyond my power to make you a better and outstanding young woman but what do you do in return, You spit at my efforts with your foolishness and stupidity.

Alice ➡ Darling…

Derrick ➡ QUIET WOMAN!!

Gwen ➡ Don’t talk to her like that.

Everyone including Dad were shocked by what I said, Mom trembled uncomfortably on her seat praying that my Dad wouldn’t go through the roof but I sat defiantly staring at him.
He may be her husband but that doesn’t give him the right to shout at her especially when she hasn’t done anything wrong, It’s not her fault I’m the person I am today.

Derrick ➡ You dare talk back at me?

Gwen ➡ I wasn’t talking back at you. I was just protecting my mom.

Derrick ➡ INSOLENT CHILD!! Just because you’re a grown woman doesn’t mean I can’t deal with you.
Do you have any idea what I’m capable of? There’s a reason why I’m the head of this family and don’t you dare push me to the wall or else.
As I was saying… You’ve brought nothing to this family except trouble.. Everywhere you go trouble follows. I’ve heard about your recent antics and it’s getting out of hand.

I won’t have that.. His father and I agreed to make you two marry and after your schooling, You will be his bride 👰.

Gwen ➡ ABSOLUTELY NOT! I’d rather stay lonely than be the wife of that worthless trash. I’m a grown woman and I have the right to choose my own happiness.. I don’t love Adrian and he doesn’t love me.. He’s busy sticking his tiny d-ck in,side Leona’s p—y. I have lots of things I want to do with my life before I get married.. I don’t want to end up like Mom.. No offense.

Derrick ➡ I see your attitude has gotten out of hand.. Looks like I need to discipline you thoroughly.
You and that Adrian boy will marry each other and that’s FINAL!

Gwen ➡ Don’t you care about my feelings? What I want?

Derrick ➡ IT DOESN’T MATTER!!!

I kept quiet after I heard that, What kind of parent that doesn’t care about their child’s feelings? In my opinion, Parents are supposed to listen and consider their children’s wants, needs and feelings and if they don’t, The children have every right to resent them.
Hate and anger clouded over me in that moment that I didn’t care what may come next, I stood up defiantly staring at my Father dead in the eye as I uttered these words.

Gwen ➡ I despise you! Hell, I HATE YOU!!! I don’t want anything to do with you and I resent you as my father.

Alice ➡ GWEN!
.

Gwen ➡ Let me be mom!!… What kind of father are you? I’m your daughter and my feelings doesn’t matter to you. Parents are supposed to consider their children’s feelings.. It’s not something that you can ignore.
I don’t care what people think about me.. This is who I am and I will not change because of them.. If they can’t accept me as I am, well let them go to hell.. I may be reckless or troublesome but I’m not a bad person. I just want to live my life the way I want, I don’t want to be like a caged animal..People aren’t meant to exist, they’re meant to live and that’s what I want! I want to live. Life is short.
I also believe in the rules but not all rules are meant to be followed. Nothing you say or do will change my decision. I won’t marry Adrian! PERIOD!

Right after I said that, I left and walked right out of the living room heading straight to my bedroom. I don’t care what comes next or what my father thinks, There is no way I’m going to let anyone shift me off my course, this is my life, not theirs.

Later that night around 1:00pm, Derrick and his wife are on their bed with their backs facing each other, Both of them aren’t in a good mood after what had transpired in the living room hours ago.
Derrick who’s more disturbed at the issue begins to think 💭 about his daughter said to him. Never in his life has been bothered like the way he is now, his daughter’s words had touched him in a way he has never felt before.
His daughter might be a troublesome but he loves her, all he wanted for her was the best but it turns out, She wasn’t on the same on the same page with him.
After battling with this thought, The elderly vampire sits on the bed turning to the direction of his silent wife, He hesitates for a while before waking up his wife.
Seconds later, Alice turns around and faces her husband for a while before sitting up on the bed as well. Moments later, the couple were both awake and silent unable to talk to each other, eventually Derrick spoke up trying to make his wife see his own point of view about his methods as a father but Alice brings her own point of view instead.

Derrick ➡ My love… Why doesn’t Gwen see that I’m just doing what’s good for her.. What’s wrong in her appreciating my efforts?

Alice ➡ Derrick! You really are a fossil. What you fail to understand is that times are changing. This era isn’t as the same as our own.
Centuries ago Back when the world wasn’t this complicated, this kind of method would have worked just fine but this is a different time and you need to adapt.

Derrick ➡ What are you saying Alice?
.

Alice ➡ Your daughter is hurt.. What you just said to her about her feelings was mean. You shouldn’t have said that, She may be troublesome and reckless but that’s who she is, Nobody is perfect and I don’t blame her if she gets offensive towards others cause That Leona is an annoying brat and a bully.
You want your daughter to marry Adrian, but she doesn’t want to. I want her to be happy but I don’t want her to be miserable and unhappy in her later life, Forced marriages always end unfortunately.

Derrick ➡ But it worked out fine for us.

Alice ➡ Yes and that’s because we love each other.. I wouldn’t have married you if I didn’t love you. Love and tolerance are the pillars of a strong and solid marriage.
You should put yourself in your daughter’s shoes and realize what’s she’s going through.. You may force her but you and I both know your daughter is as stubborn as you.. She won’t budge.

Derrick ➡ So you’re saying that I should let her be?
.

Alice ➡ Yes Love.., she’s a grown woman and she’s capable of making decisions on her own, she’s not a child anymore.. Let her find and choose the person she wants to be with, At least that should make her realize that you do care about her feelings and that would make her externally grateful to you. Besides what else can go wrong?.

Strangled by silence, Derrick was thrown into a deep thought about what his wife said, submitting to Gwen’s wishes might look as if he wasn’t capable of handling his family affairs as the head of the family but still, He realized that what his wife had said made sense.
Gwen might be grateful if he allowed her to choose the person she loves and it would make her happy.

Derrick ➡ (sighs) Alright then.. She won’t marry Adrian.. Let her be with who wants but no more troubles this time. Tell her about this. I will go over to the Wallenstein’s manor and let them know about Gwen’s decision.

Alice ➡ Thank you my love.

Derrick ➡ You’re welcome.

After that, Derrick and his wife shared a k-ss 💋 before laying down and cuddling themselves in each other’s arms, before long the couple were both asleep.

Hours later the next morning , Derrick arrives at the Wallenstein manor and sits in,side the living room with the head of the manor, Lucian Wallenstein.
Lucian Wallenstein is Adrian’s father and good friend of Derrick, they’ve been friends since their teenage days and their relationsh¡p has stands solid up til this present day.
Both of them were having a conversation about the invention of the Solar generator for a while before Derrick changes the topic.

Lucian ➡ So Old friend, Have you heard about the Solar generator that would be launched tonight?

Derrick ➡ I’ve heard of it.
.

Lucian ➡ So have you thought of investing in this new product? Its a game changer.. It’s going to revolutionise the use of power in this world.

Derrick ➡ Still, there’s a small problem with this invention.. It uses Solar energy and you know how dangerous that is to us.

Lucian ➡ Nonsense Derrick, as long as we have our rings, there’s nothing to fear. You have to invest.. Once it’s launched, just imagine the wealth that will be generated.

Derrick ➡ (sighs) I’ll think about it.

Lucian ➡ What’s wrong Derrick? You look dull.

Derrick ➡ I know Lucian.., it’s my daughter Gwen!.

Lucian ➡ Gwen! Is she alright?

Derrick ➡ Yes, she’s fine.

Lucian ➡ Ah.. You had me worried, I can’t wait to wed my son to your daughter.. They’ll make a fine couple and with her ravishing beauty, I’m sure they’ll breed fine children.

Derrick ➡ I’m afraid that’s not going to happen.

Lucian ➡ Why not?

Derrick ➡ Gwen doesn’t love Adrian.. She made that clear last night. I’m sorry.

Lucian ➡ WHAT!? It doesn’t matter.. She will marry my son.. FORCE HER! You’re her father.

Derrick ➡ I’m sorry… She won’t budge.. A lot of things happened between us last night and it would be best if their union doesn’t happen.. I’m afraid if it does, it will lead to grave consequences.

Lucian ➡ This is Nonsense!! You allow your daughter to sway her thoughts on you. You disappointed me Derrick.. I thought you’re the head of the house.

Derrick ➡ DON’T TALK TO ME LIKE THAT LUCIAN…. I am the head of the house and I want my daughter to be happy.. I don’t want a situation where I’ll be getting unpleasant news about your son and my daughter.. FACE IT LUCIAN… My daughter doesn’t love your son, and if there’s no love in marriage, then it’s worthless.

Lucian ➡ What has come over you? You know this is out custom and rules.. Your daughter can not do this.

Derrick ➡ Times have changed Lucian, and so must the rules. I’ve seen the outcome of this union and it’s not going to end well.. It’s better for us both to prevent a disaster before it occurs.

Lucian ➡ (sighs) How Unfortunate! Alright then, so be in.. There won’t be any Union. If your daughter’s heart is not in this then, It’s over.

Derrick ➡ Thank you for Understanding.. Please tell Adrian not to take this unfortunate news too deep.

Lucian ➡ Don’t worry, he will heal when he finds someone else. It’s a shame our families won’t be united.

Derrick ➡ Yes indeed.

Suddenly, Lucian’s wife Lucretia appears into the living room and sits next to her husband giving him a k-ss on the cheek, She exchanges pleasantries with Derrick and then finally reaches out for the Flat screen remote turning it on.

Lucian ➡ What’s going on, my Love?
.

Lucretia ➡ Haven’t you heard?
.

Lucian ➡ Heard what?
.

Lucretia ➡ There has been an attack last night.
.

Derrick ➡ Attack!? Where?
.

In that moment, The Flat screen turns on showing a news report about the Attack Lucretia was talking about. Derrick, Lucian and his wife kept quiet and listened at the News reporter narrated the incident.

News reporter ➡ Good Morning citizens of New-york, My name is Lindsay Elfman and this is the morning news.. Last night, there was an attack at one of the warehouses of the Power company, TRISCORP.
Lots of crated goods were lost and the warehouse itself was nearly decimated, Luckily enough the CCTV camera caught the culprit and it was a shock even to me as well when the attack was revealed.
As it turns out, Gwen rom-nov was right about what she saw, the attacker was a 13 feet Werewolf 🐺, Nothing like this had ever been seen and especially the size of the Sinister beast lurking around.. The Question on everyone’s mind Is * ARE THE WEREWOLVES BEHIND THIS*.

Just when I thought this life was cruel enough, now it’s even more crueler with the latest news spreading around.
I was surprised as much as everyone when I saw the size of this werewolf on the TV screens and newspaper 🗞, It was so intimidating and terrifying not to mention its size is unbelievable.
Thanks to this news, Everyone around the within and outside New-york is pointing a finger at us werewolves, and now they sees us as a threat, even I myself I’m not safe from this, cause my store was now being abandoned.
Most of my customers see me the same way they see that werewolf and The news was making us look bad in front of the world.
The damn vampires were the first to appear in the media pouring filth over us as they claim we’re nothing but beasts and that we deserve to live in cages but thankfully Leaders of our clan came out as well and denied having any association with the attack that just happened.
In order to redeem our clan’s honor, The Law enforcement agencies told us to identity and cast out this strange werewolf among us but even with that, There was no way we could find out the identity of this Werewolf.
Hours later after the news came out, Every werewolf in New-york was summoned over to our embassy which was located here in Queens in order to solve this case that is about the ruin the reputation of our clan.
It was quite a huge gathering when I arrived there but luckily for us, The space in the embassy was enough to contain nearly all of us.
Every werewolf in each state or country has a marking that indicates the places they live in, Like us werewolves here in New-york, we have our own marking which is different from the werewolves in Texas, Los Angeles, Chicago, e.t.c..
So as soon as we all assembled in the embassy, Our leader or ambassador, Jack Wolfsbane stood before us all with his stern and mean gaze. Everyone was silent before him and after some minutes, He spoke.

Jack ➡ Greetings my brothers and sisters.. I’m sure you all know why you’re here.. Our clan is facing a serious charge and is blamed for something we have no hand in.. It doesn’t matter cause right now, Everyone wants our heads but we will not let that happen!
We have a rogue among us or rather an alien, Whoever that werewolf is, he/she is not amongst us, There has never ever been a Werewolf of that size and we will do whatever we can to clear our name.
From now henceforth, There will be a trial here in the embassy every Thursdays and Fridays.. Everyone of us here will be tested personally and once you’ve been tested, din not utter or tell anyone who hasn’t taken the test, that way we will know who’s the Alien among us.
Do not let public opinions bother you, Just stay sharp and watch out for any attacks from the Vampires.. I’m sure they’ll be out for blood anytime soon.
Remember Stay safe and look out for each other, no one will be left alone during his dark hour. Good day everyone.

After that speech, Everyone in the embassy dispersed and went home, It’s a good thing we have a strong leader like Jack, he’s so fearless and full of hope, despite this situation we’re facing, he isn’t such any disturbance.
Just as I was 2 blocks away from reaching home, I was intercepted by a Police patrol car and as it turns out, the officers were vampires. After parking their car, they came out and ordered me to stop.

Officer 1 ➡ Hey! Stop right there.
.

Petra ➡ Is something wrong?
.

Officer 2 ➡ Shut your mouth, B-tch.
.

Petra ➡ Your mother is the B—h.
.

Officer 1 ➡ You dare insult an officer of the law? You’re under arrest.

Officer 2 ➡ You have the right to remain silent.
.

Petra ➡ You’re both out of your minds.
.

Officer 1 ➡ GRAB HER!

Petra ➡ DON’T YOU DARE TOUCH ME!

Our little drama attracted some attention and luckily for me, Some of my clansmen were around to have my back. They approached us and got between me and the officers, Just before things could get any worse Xavier showed up at the scene.

Xavier ➡ What’s going on?

Officer 2 ➡ This Sl-t insulted us.
.

Stranger ➡ That’s a lie.. They started the wh0le thing.

Xavier ➡ That’s enough.. Lady, carry on and don’t cause any trouble.

Petra ➡ I didn’t do anything.

Xavier ➡ Just go.

I stared at Xavier angrily for a while before heading home, I couldn’t believe what Xavier said to me. Does he abhor me as well?.
Minutes later, I arrived home and headed straight to my room and saw Xavier standing there.

Petra ➡ How did you get in?
.

Xavier ➡ Your window was open.
.

Petra ➡ Get out!
.

Xavier ➡ What!?

Petra ➡ I said GET OUT!

Xavier ➡ Why are you being so mean all of a sudden? What have I done?

Petra ➡ I don’t need to tell you anything.. Just leave.

Xavier ➡ I won’t.

Petra ➡ Your presence here is going to cause problems.. Just leave.

Xavier ➡ Look if it’s about what I did outside.. I’m sorry.. I had to do that to avoid any suspicions.

Petra ➡ Xavier… Just go.. I don’t want you here, not now. You can’t be coming to my house as you please.

Xavier ➡ I have to.. Your life is now in danger thanks to that monster.. I have to be watching you. I can’t bear to lose you.

Petra ➡ I can take care of myself and I don’t need your protection.. I can’t let you do this, people might get suspicious if you show up here frequently.

Before I knew it, Xavier’s l-ips was pressed firmly against mine and his hands were wrapped around me, I wanted to break away from him but his grip was tight. It didn’t take long before I accepted his k-ss 💋. Seconds later, We stopped k-ssing and stared at each other passionately.

Xavier ➡ Don’t stop me Petra. You’re the love of my life and I can’t afford to lose you, things are about to get rough and I’m going to make sure you’re protected. The only way to stop all this is to find that werewolf and wherever he/she is hiding, I swear I will.
