Chapter Fourteen

“what?”Alec asked and she giggled
“she told you not to talk to me Lydia?”
“oh my God how are you guys doing that?..how did you know?”she asked really surprised
“you just told me”
“huh?”
“never mind,the game is on Tracy let’s see who wins”
“she is not a game stay away from her Alec”
“make me”he smirked and walked away
Tracy gr-aned angrily and pulled Lydia in,side the car

They got home and Lydia got down
She waved to Tracy and she waved back before the driver drove away
Mother
She suddenly remembered her mother and rushed in,side
“mother mother”she called repeatedly and her mother walked out of the kitchen with a smile
“hey Lydia”
“mother”she called happily and ran to her hugging her tightly
“you are okay”
“yes I am”
She pulled away from the hug and frowned seeing her mother was still wearing the cap
Her mother traced her eyes to the cap and saw that was what she was frowning at
Her mother smiled and pulled her cheek
“I just feel like wearing it Lydia”
“okay mother am hungry”
“I know you are so I prepared your favourite meal”
“oh my God friend rice?”she scre-med happily
“yes baby”Lydia giggled happily and hugged her mother
She rushed to the kitchen happily and her mother ran after her

THE NEXT MORNING
Lydia woke up herself again and was really surprised her mother didn’t come to wake her
She shrugged and ran into the bathroom happily
She took her bath and got dressed in her uniform
She looked at her hair and smiled
It’s always in a ponytail
“hi am Lydia”she said and waved to her reflection
“why are you waving back?”she asked surprised
“this person looks exactly like me,wait am going to go and call mother,don’t go anywhere”she said and carried her school bag
She ran to her mother’s room and barged in
She paused seeing her mother on the bed looking completely pale
“mother good morning”she said and sat beside her on the bed but got no reply
“mother”she called again and tapped her
“mother get up there is a girl in my room that looks just like me and am scared”she said and still got no reply
“mother please wake up”
Lydia suddenly heard Tracy’s car horn and shrugged
“mother I have to go to school now,see you in the afternoon”she said and pecked her forehead before walking out

They got to school and the first person they bumped into when they got down was Daniel
He smiled nervously on seeing Tracy and she rolled her eyes
“hey Daniel?”Lydia said and he turned to her surprised
“you know my name Lydia?”he asked and she nodded
“how are you?”he asked Tracy who was glaring at him and wasn’t making him feel comfortable
“am good”
“well okay so I was wondering if I could eat lunch with you and Lydia today?”
“no”she snapped and he flinched
“yes we will”Lydia said and he smiled happily
“thanks Lydia,I will see you guys by then”he said and walked away
Lydia giggled and clapped her hands
Tracy turned to her and glared hærd at her
“Daniel loves Tracy”she sang repeatedly and danced round Tracy
Tracy didn’t know when she smiled shyly and covered her mouth when other students were beginning to hear her
Tracy shook her head and pulled the dancing and happy Lydia to class

LUNCH BREAK
The school bell rang and students stood up
Tracy was about to run away and Lydia held her this time
Daniel smiled and walked to them leaving his friends
“so are you guys ready?”he asked and Lydia nodded happily
They all walked out of class and this time with Lydia pulling Tracy
They got to the cafeteria and Daniel paid their lunch even though Tracy refused
They got to a table and sat down
Lydia was seating between them which she discovered was wrong and stood up to sit beside Tracy
Daniel smiled seeing the look on Tracy’s face
“so how are you doing?”Daniel asked and she didn’t answer
She frowned and scratch the back of her neck which Lydia noticed
Lydia stepped on her foot and she answered immediately
Okay what the hell is wrong with Lydia today?
She thought as she sighed
She decided to play along and answer Daniel
“so will you like to go out with me this Saturday?”
“I don’t know am….”she hasn’t finished her statement and Lydia stepped on her foot
“I mean sure I will love to”
“thanks dear and thanks a lot Lydia”he said standing up and winked before walking away
“I hate you Lydia”Tracy said and she giggled
“how did you even understand what we were saying Lydia?”
“I didn’t all I know is that you also like him and anytime he asks you something that he wants you to do you frown and scratch the back of you neck which means you are lying and you want to do it but you don’t want him to know that”she said and Tracy opened her mouth wide
“you are so unpredictable”
School was finally over and they head to the parking lot
They got there and met Tracy’s car there already
They entered her car and head to Lydia’s house
Lydia wanted to talk about her mother but kept quiet
She got home and got down
She ran in,side heading straight to her mother’s room and still met her in the saw position
She heard Tracy’s car was about to leave and she ran out of her mother’s room
She ran out of the door speedily and rushed to the car
She opened it and pulled Tracy out
She pulled Tracy into the house heading to her mother’s room and Tracy wondered what was going
They got to her mother’s room and she pulled Tracy to the bed
“Tracy mother isn’t talking”she said in fear and Tracy bent to her mother’s level on the bed
She placed her head on her chest to listen to her heartbeat but heard none
Tray checked her pulse and felt none
She also wasn’t breathing
Tracy froze and tears gathered around her eyes
Why will Lydia’s mum die leaving her all alone in this world?
“Tracy is mother okay?”
“Lydia”she called slowly and turned to her
How will she say it for her to understand
“Lydia your mum is not breathing”
“well give her breath”she said with a smile
“no Lydia it’s not that she is….”
“she is what?”
“dead”
“oh God she doesn’t understand”Tracy muttered in tears
“mother get up why is Tracy crying?”
God this is so sad
Tracy thought as the tears kept falling freely off her eyes
“your mother has become an angel”Tracy said knowing she will get that
Lydia suddenly froze and looked at her mother
She smiled out tears and held her mother’s body
“mother!”she called and shook her
“but she can’t be an angel Tracy,she promised me she will be with me till the end,she said she wouldn’t leave be like father did and she said that am the reason she lives everyday so why is she an angel already?”Lydia asked in tears starring at her mother
“Tracy she didn’t wake me up this morning cause I thought she was sleeping,I didn’t know she left me alone”
Tracy sighed in tears and looked closer at her mother
She was still wearing the cap
Tracy moved closer to her and removed it to discover she was bald
They both flinched and moved back
“she had Cancer”Tracy gasped as Lydia starred at her mother’s head and burst into laughter
“oh my God she looks like a pumpkin”she y*elled she laughed loudly forgetting her mother was dead already

Lydia laughed and Tracy smiled out tears
“that’s enough Lydia”Tracy said and she burst into tears again
“Tracy mother is an angel”she cried loudly this time and held her mother’s hands
Tracy brought out her phone from her jacket pocket and called nine one one
“Lydia where is your room?”Tracy asked after she finished making the call and Lydia turned to her in tears
“the door opposite this room”
Tracy nodded and was about to walk out but paused
Lydia can do anything stupid when she is alone not to talk of now that her mum is dead
“lets go Lydia”she said and pulled her up
They walked out of the room and entered Lydia’s room
Tracy walked straight to her wardrobe and brought out her bag
She packed all her clothes into it and shoes
Lydia just sat on the bed watching her
“Tracy where are we going?”
“somewhere Lydia”
“what about mother?”
“I called nine one one already and they will be here soon”she said and they suddenly heard sirens
“ohh they are here already,let’s go”she said and pulled Lydia’s hand and they walked outside
They got outside the house and Tracy walked to one of the cops
Lydia followed her behind and watched as she talked to the cop
“Lydia”the cop suddenly called and she turned to him
“am really sorry about the loss of your mother Lydia”the cop said and she nodded
“good luck”he said to Tracy and she nodded before the cop walked into the house
Tracy pulled Lydia’s hand and they walked to her car
She dropped the bag in the trunk and they entered
“Tracy where are we going?”
“a new home”
“but what about mother?”
“the cops will bury her and we will go visit her grave on Sunday Lydia”
“so mother is really an angel?”she asked in tears and Tracy nodded
She started crying again and Tracy hugged her
“am so sorry Lydia,I really am”
They got to Tracy’s house and they got down
Lydia gasped and looked around
She giggled happily and smiled seeing how beautiful and big the house is
The guards in Tracy’s house starred at her confused
Tracy smiled and brought down her bag
Tracy held her hand and pulled her into the house
Tracy’s mum sighed in relief seeing her immediately
“what took you so long?”she asked and hugged her
“mum can I see you in the lobby?”
“sure”
Tracy left Lydia in the living room and pulled her to the lobby
“who is that girl?”
“mum she is my friend Lydia and she is m*entally unstable and her mother d*ied today and she has no where to stay or who to live with please mum let her stay here”
“what? She has a m*ental problem and you brought her in here what if she is violent?”
“no mum I swear she is not,she just doesn’t understand words most times please mum she doesn’t have any family and she doesn’t even know that please let her stay”she pleaded and her mother sighed
“well that depends on your father”
“I know and I will talk to dad once he gets back from work”
“okay then she can stay but your father has the final say”
“thank you mum”Tracy said happily and hugged her mother
“and Freddie is back from college”
“oh my God”Tracy scre-med happily and ran back to the living room
She froze seeing Freddie her elder brother talking to Lydia
“so all you can say is am Lydia?”he asked admits laughter
“yes am Lydia”Lydia said happily and he laughed
“Freddie”Tracy suddenly called and he turned back to see her
“little sis”he called happily and hugged her
“am not little anymore”Tracy gr-aned and he laughed
He pulled away and ruffled her hair
“so I see you have met my friend Lydia”
“yeah and how come all she says is am Lydia?”he asked and Tracy tiptoed to his ear level
She whispered she has a m*ental problem into his hair and he gasped
“ohh so does she live here?”
“she will just start living her today,her mother died today”
“oh my God that’s so sad,does she knows?”
“yes”
“mum do you think dad will allow her stay here?” Freddie asked his mother
“I don’t know yet,Tracy show Lydia to her new room”
“no she has to be staying with me cause of somethings”
“okay”
“come on Lydia”Tracy said and carried her bag
“Tracy”Lydia suddenly called and she turned to her
“who is she?”she asked her pointed to Tracy’s mother
“she is my mother Lydia”
“and him?”
“he is my brother and he is Freddie”
“good evening Freddie and Tracy’s mother”Lydia smiled and bowed
They both turned to Tracy and she shrugged
“evening Lydia”her mother said and she clapped her hands happily
“Tracy?”she called again and Tracy answered with a smile
“will mother come back to me?”she asked and Tracy didn’t know what to say
“how about to first go to your room Lydia and will we talk about your mother later”Freddie said and she nodded with a smile
Tracy held her hand and pulled her up the stairs
Her mother sighed before walking into the kitchen to join the maids
“I like her”Freddie muttered and fell on the couch
Tracy got Lydia to freshen up and change her clothes
They both walked down the stairs together and Freddie smiled on seeing them
The door suddenly opened and Tracy’s father walked in
Tracy’s heart skipped a beat and she sighed
“welcome dad”she and Freddie chorused and hugged him
Her mother walked out of the kitchen and hugged her father
“who is she?”her father asked noticing Lydia
She explained who Lydia was to her father and her rolled his eyes
“I don’t care,take her to the orphanage or something”
“dad please”Tracy begged and her mother gave him a look
“we can’t take her into the house she is a ps*ycho”
“father doesn’t want me to stay?”Lydia suddenly asked and they all turned to her
“yes I don’t want you to stay,you are a ps*ycho and you can do anything”
“I will leave then,I will go and meet my mother and father and we all become an angel in heaven and live happily ever after”she said happily and clapped her hands
“dad come on this is just so sad”Freddie said and their father sighed
“you guys have just twenty four hours to prove to me a good reason why she can stay in this house and she must not cause any violence”
“sure thing dad”Tracy said and hugged him
Lydia giggled and was about to hug him and he moved back
He gave her a look before walking upstairs
They all sat at the dinning with Tracy sitting beside Lydia and Freddie was opposite them while their parents sat at the end of the table
Lydia kept picking different kinds of foods and giggled happily
Tracy collected some from her and fed her
Freddie smiled and watched her as he ate
Her father looked at her disgusted and stood up
“honey aren’t you eating?”his wife asked
“I lost my appetite watching a ps*ycho”he said and walked away from the dinning
“okay stop that”Tracy warned Lydia as she picked two buns and wanted to put it in her br-ast
Freddie laughed loudly and Tracy’s mother chuckled
They finally finished eating and Lydia stood up to pack the plates and they stopped her
“the maids will handle that”
“huh?”Lydia asked not understanding what Freddie just said
“If you want to communicate with her you have to put her name in every sentence you make”Tracy said and they nodded
“the maids will handle that Lydia”he repeated and she smiled
She dropped them and the maids started packing the plates
They were done and they all stood up
“Freddie”Lydia called and he turned to her
She walked to him and cleaned the sauce on his cheek with her thumb
Freddie smiled and held her hand
“thanks Lydia”she nodded and suddenly ran towards the stairs and Tracy ran after her
THE NEXT MORNING
“Lydia come on you seriously have to stop crying”Tracy said trying to calm Lydia down as she cried remembering her mother
Tracy was already dressed for school but Lydia was refusing to get dressed
“I don’t want to go to school”
“okay Lydia will you stay at home with Freddie?”she nodded in response and Tracy smiled
“okay lets go”
“no I want to stay on your bed”
“okay then I will tell Freddie you are here”she nodded and Tracy walked out
Lydia sighed and remained on the bed
After some minutes Lydia suddenly stood up and felt it was the need for her to take her bath
She walked to the bathroom fully clothed and starred at the bathroom
It was different from hers and it’s strange to her
“a bathroom”she muttered and turned on the shower and left it running
She turned to the bathe tub and turned it on in a normal temperature
She smiled and walked out completely forgetting she has left the water running
.
Freddie sighed and stood up to check up on Lydia
He climbed on the stairs and paused when he heard noise from Tracy’s room
He rushed to it and knocked on the door
He got no response and barged in
He suddenly saw the flood rush out of Tracy’s room
It was so so flooded that Freddie’s cloth was w-t by just opening the door
“It’s not me,flood happened in the house”
“Freddie”his dad suddenly called from downstairs and he froze
The water flowed downstairs
And his dad will get mad
