🍂 Liam’s POV 🍂
“Aria!!” I said shocked
“Ohh, they told you about me” the Directress said
“Charlie told us to find you” Daphne said and she laughed
“He did?” She asked
“Yeah” I replied
“Those brothers of mine, they only remember me in their time of need” she said “I guess I should introduce myself properly, am Aria Walker” she said bringing out her hand for a handshake
“Liam Walker” I said as I shook her hand
“And Daphne Hills” she said turning to Daphne “When you came to the orphanage, I wanted to give you something but I couldn’t but I guess I can give you now” she said as she dipped her hand into her bag and brought out a strange looking but beautiful bracelet
🍂 Daphne’s POV 🍂
“What’s this for?” I asked as I collected her
“Its something I made, it acts as an emotion blocker, as long as you wear it you won’t feel other people’s emotions and you won’t need Liam to constantly hold your hand” she said
“Wow, thanks” I said as I let go of Liam’s hand and put the bracelet on my hand
And it worked, I couldn’t feel Aria’s emotions
“It worked?” Liam asked and I nodded happily
“Thanks Aria” Liam said
“When your Mom gave you to me as a baby, she had confided in me that her family was Cursed, she could also feel people’s emotions so I conjured the same bracelet for her. Your Mom also had a hærd life Daphne, she began feeling people’s emotions right from the moment she was born, it was a miracle she survived childhood but like you, she didn’t die easily, the Curse won’t let her die”
“If my Mom’s Curse started from the moment she was born, why did mine started when I was 5?” I asked
“I delayed it” Aria said “you were just a baby then and I couldn’t give you the bracelet cause it’s magical powers might be harmful to you so I tried my best to break your Curse but I couldn’t, I was only able to delay it and then your foster parents came and adopted you” she said
“Thank you so much Aria” I said as I hugged her
“It’s okay” she said and I disengaged from the hug
“I also got some Musk roots for you” she said giving Liam a pouch full of Musk roots
“Thanks” Liam said as he collected it
“I guess I’ll be living now, you guys should be careful, I might not be here to save you next time” she said as she turned to leave
“Aren’t you gonna stay and continue helping us?” Liam asked and she scoffed as she turned back
“You want me to stay?” She asked
“Yeah, we really need your help” Liam said
“Maybe no one told you but I hate the Walker family Liam, why would I help a family that abandoned me. My Dad, your grandfather casted me out because I was born with the powers of a witch and he considered that as a bad omen. Everyone left me alone thinking I was bad news, even my brothers didn’t help me, they forgot me too but am always an emotional fool, even though they abandoned me I still went to warn your Dad on the day your were born cause I knew you were Cursed though I don’t know how, but he disregarded me again so why should I help you now?”
🍂 Liam’s POV 🍂
“Am sorry for whatever you went through Aria but you’ve really got to help us please” I begged
“Haven’t I helped you guys much more than you deserve?” She asked “I just saved your life from the Soul Hunters, I gave Daphne an emotion blocking bracelet and thanks to me, Daphne lived a peaceful life for the first 5 years of her life which also left you in peace cause the moment her Curse was activated, yours began to manifest too” she said
“But Aria…”Daphne wanted to say something but was cut short by Aria
“I think I’ve done enough” she said as she turned to live again
“You understand native Latin right?” I asked
“Yes” she said as without looking back
“Then what’s the meaning of ‘c-m autem fuerit Luna in occursum firmaret radicem super excelsis?” I asked
“It means ‘Meet me when the when the Moon is high above the Willow tree” she said and walked out of the house
“Meet me when Moon is high above the Willow tree” Daphne repeated “whoever it is that has been speaking to you wants to meet you”
“And we are gonna meet him” I said
“Are you sure, we don’t even know who it is, all we’ve been hearing is the voice, I don’t think it’s safe for us to go” Daphne said
“We’ve got to take risks Daphne, our life is already messed up and we’ve got to set things straight even if it means risking our lives perhaps, when the voice first spoke to me, it said ‘Come to me’, it has always wanted to meet me and I think whoever it is wanna help us”
“Fine, when should we go?” She asked
“It said when the Moon is high above the Willow tree, the Moon is out now” I said
“You want us to go now?” She asked raising her voice
“Yes” I replied “I don’t think we should waste any time” I said and she sighed
“Let’s go then” she said
We walked out of the house, entered the car and I drove off to the Park
Minutes later, we reached the Park and I pulled over
Everywhere was silent but we were able to see thanks to the Moon
We walked towards the Willow tree and the atmosphere was cold as heavy wind started to blow
“Am scared” Daphne said
“There’s nothing to be scared of” I said as I held her hand
But truth be told am kinda scared too but I can’t let it show
We stood in front of the Willow tree and the wind kept on blowing
“You told me to come meet you when the Moon is high above the Willow tree” I yelled but everywhere was silent
“Are you sure it understand English?” Daphne asked in a whisper
“I think so, it first spoke to us in English remember” I replied
The wind began to calm down and I started feeling dizzy
“Daphne” I called as I staggered and she quickly caught me
🍂 Daphne’s POV 🍂
“What’s wrong?” I asked as I held him
“I think…. I think it’s taking me to somewhere” he stuttered
“What do you mean?” I asked
“He….he… wants to show me something” he said as he collapsed on me and I staggered managing to hold him
“Liam Liam!!” I called as I shook him vigorously but he was totally unconscious
“Wake…” I couldn’t complete my words as I felt someone hit my head with something and I fell down with Liam as I lost consciousness

🍂 Daphne’s POV 🍂
I slowly opened my eyes as I felt light-headed
My head is still aching and I feel so weak
I looked around
Am in a dark empty room alone
Where’s Liam?
Who brought me here
The opened and a woman came in
A woman I’ve never seen before
“You are awake” she said looking at me
“Who are you? Where’s Liam?” I asked but she didn’t answer, she just kept staring at me and then she sighed
“Your friend is in the other room and he’s unconscious though I don’t know why, it’s not like I hit him or anything” she said “as for who I am, well you can just say am someone that’s here to help you break the Curse” she said
“You…. You know how to break the Curse?” I asked
“Yes” she said with a nod
“How?” I asked
“The only way to break the Curse is to kill it’s host” she said
“What do you mean?” I asked
“I mean to break the Curse, you’ll have to die Daphne” she said “You and Liam”
“What!!”
“That’s the only way to stop the Curse” she said
“But… Why must Liam die, am the Cursed one”
“Liam’s Cursed too”
“Can’t I be the only that has to die?”
“I can’t take any chances, Liam must die too” she said
“Okay, though I don’t know who you are but am sorry we don’t need your help, Liam and I will solve this mystery together without anyone having to die” I said
“You don’t understand Daphne, am not giving you an option here, this is something that must be done” she said
“Well sorry to break your hopes but I cant die that easily, I tried to kill myself several times but I didn’t die”
“Do you think I brought you guys here without being prepared?” She asked “for the past 25 years, I’ve been watching you, and I’ve been looking for anything that can kill you, at first I thought of the Soul Hunters but I have no control over them neither can I asked them to do my bidding but few years ago, I finally found what I needed, A magical thorn I found in the the Oasis below the Egyptian des**t, known to kill any being no matter how powerful. All it takes to kill you is just a scratch from the thorn and you are gone, you and Liam”
“W…what, who are you?” I asked
“Someone that wants to end this stupid Curse once and for all” she said and walked out of the room
I sank on the follow with my head between my legs
Who is she?
Why is she so obsessed with killing us
Does she really have something that can kill me?
I would’nt have any problem with dieing if it really ends the Curse but Liam…
He shouldn’t die
I won’t let her kill her
“Liam” I said aloud as tears rolled from my ears
“I hope you are alright”
🍂 Liam’s POV 🍂
I opened my eyes and found myself in the middle of a field but something seems strange
Everywhere seems strange
I stood up and and dust the grasses off my shirt
And it was then I noticed
Am not me
This is not my body, am in a totally different body
And am dressed in some clothes
“Kal!” A lady dressed in a long garment that looked ancient called while running towards me
Strangely, I knew it was me she was referring to
Am Kal
“What’s it Hera” I said and I internally gasped
How did I know her name?
It’s as if am in someone else’s body and all am allowed to do is watch
“Where have you been Kal, I’ve been searching all over for you” she said
“Why, did you already miss me that much?” I asked with a smile as I pinched her cheeks
“You wish” she said as she dropped my hands from her cheeks “I’ve just been bored at home and I wanted someone to have fun with” she said with a pout
“And why will such a beautiful princess be bored?” I asked with a smirk
“Stop it Kal, you know I hate it when you call me princess” she said as she sat on the grasses and I sat down with her
“But you are a princess”
“I wish I wasn’t, being a princess is so boring, I wish I could be free like you”
“I wish I was a princess like you” I said
“Trust me Kal, you won’t like it, for someone who’s as naughty and playful as you, infact you’ll hate” she said
“Probably, I guess you are right, being locked up in a house all day, wearing sophisticated dresses and attending various long and boring dinners, ewwww” I said making a disgusting face and Hera laughed
“Talking of long and boring dinners, we’ll be having one tomorrow” she said
“Really, who’s coming this time?” I asked
“The Countess of Darcia, she’ll be visiting with her family tomorrow” I said
“Darcia?” I asked
“Yeah, it’s one of the counties in the kingdom” she replied
“Ooh you mean The weird Darcia” I said
“Come on Kal, stop calling them that” Hera said
“Why should i, the royal family of Darcia are very weird, a bunch of priest and sorcress with absurd powers, why are they coming here”
“The Queen lost her husband and Dad and Mom went to pay a condolence visit few moons ago so it’s only proper if she pays us a visit too to show her gratitude” she said
“Whatever, at least I won’t be there so enjoy your long and boring dinner” I said
“Ohh, seems like your dad haven’t told you but the King’s advisor and his family is also invited to the dinner”
“What!!!”
“So you are coming to the long and boring dinner with us” she said sticking out her tongue
“Why do I have a feeling you are behind this?” I asked
“Well…. I was the one that asked Dad to invite you guys”
“Hera!”
“What?!, I didn’t want to attend the boring dinner alone so just keep me company there okay?” She said trying to make a cute face and I sighed
“You are lucky you have me as a friend” I said
“Yes, am so lucky, you’ve been the only one that has always had fun with me since I was child, you are amazing” she said
“Thank you for thinking so highly of this subject of yours my princess” I said bowing my heard a little and we both laughed
“I wish we’ll remain like this forever, I like being with you, maybe we should get married” Hera said putting her head on my shoulder
“What!, I don’t wish for that” I said
“Why?” She asked as she looked at me taking her head off my shoulder
“Being stuck with you forever, that’s the biggest punishment anyone could ever have” I said
“Come on Kal, am not that bad”, she said with a pout and smiled
“I was just joking okay, whoever gets married to you will be the luckiest man in world to have gotten such a beautiful princess” I said and she smiled
“Princess Hera!” Someone called
“Who’s that” I asked Hera
“My handmaid, she’s probably looking for me to take me back home, we’ve got to hide, she can’t see me” she said as she held my hand and I followed her as we ran out of the field
🍂 Daphne’s POV 🍂
I was still sitting down with my head between your legs, just like I used to sit back in the woods
I miss Liam
I wish he was here with me
He would’ve comforted me and told me to be strong that everything’s gonna be alright
Why did he suddenly collapse at the Willow tree
What’s going on with him now
Has he woken up or is he still unconscious
I hope he’s fine
I won’t let anything happen to you Liam, even if it means killing that woman to get us out of here
The door opened and I quickly looked up
It was the woman and she was holding a plate of food
“Eat this you must be hungry” she said as she dropped the plate in front of me
“What’s the point of feeding someone you are about to kill” I said
“You have to understand Daphne am not killing you because I want to, am going to kill you because I have to” she said and turned to leave
I looked at the food
It was just meat and there was a spoon and knife on it
And then I got an idea
“Why haven’t you killed me yet?” I asked as I quietly took the knife from the plate
“Am waiting for the full moon, both of you will have to be killed on the full moon for the Curse to be broken” she said without facing me
“When is the full moon?” I asked as I quietly stood up and walked towards her pointing the knife at her
I was about stabbing her back when she turned abruptly and caught my hand
“Do you really think I can be killed this easily” she said
“Let me…” I stopped talking as I saw a bracelet on her hand
It’s same as the bracelet on my hand, the one Aria made for me
“How… How did you get this bracelet?” I asked and she quickly let go of my hand
“It’s a gift from a friend, nothing special” she said
But the only person Aria ever made that bracelet for apart from me was my…
“Forget any foolish plans you have and eat your food, you can’t escape from here that easily” she said as she turned and started walking towards the door
“Mom?” I called slowly and she stopped on her tracks
