👀 EPISODE 6 👀

🍂 Liam’s POV 🍂

We ran out of the house and came up to the car

“You’ve got to drive the car, I can’t drive” Daphne said

“But I’ll have to let go of your hand for us to get in” I said

“Then let go, there’s no one here now” she said as she jerked her hand off mine

We quickly entered the car and I drove off

“You didn’t feel anything?” I asked

“No” she replied

“What about the Soul Hunters?”

“You said they are also known as the Hollow brothers, I don’t think they’ve got emotions” she said and I nodded

It was still raining heavily

And then reality dawned on me

Charlie is dead

How can Charlie die?

He was gonna help us figure all this out, how could he die

“Maybe we should just go to my house now” Daphne said

“Do you still remember the way?” I asked

“That’s what am trying to figure out now, everywhere has changed” she said

“Just describe the place for me”

“It’s a big house, probably old by now, beside the West Haven’s Church” she said

“I know the place” I said as drove in the direction of West Haven’s Church

I drove for what seemed like forever to me and then finally stopped at in front of the house

Daphne quickly came down and she ran into the house

I walked behind her and we entered the house

I cleaned one of the chairs in the sitting room and sat on it with Daphne

“We’ll start looking for clues about the orphanage you were adopted from tomorrow, I think we should get some sleep for now” I said

“Okay” She said as she stood up

“You aren’t feeling any emotions?” I asked

“No, everyone’s probably asleep now and their emotions are dormant, well except if they are having a nightmare but I can’t sense anyone have a nightmare now”

“Okay” I said

“Though all the rooms are dusty but you can clean up one and sleep on it” she said and I nodded

Then she went in,side one of the rooms

I dropped my head into my hands as I tried to stop the tears forming in my eyes

Charlie is dead

I still can’t believe he’s dead

I tear fell from my eyes and I quickly cleaned it

I’ve got to be strong if we’re gonna survive this

🍂 Daphne’s POV 🍂

I went to my room and looked around

Except for the dust, everything was just the way we left it before I was taken to the woods

I opened my wardrobe and it was almost empty, I packed most of my clothes while moving to the woods

Only a few clothes were remaining and a teddy bear too

The one Mom and Dad bought for me on my third birthday

I took the teddy bear and sat on the dusty bed

Tears rolled down my face as the memories rushed in

I can vividly remember everything as if it happened yesterday

Why couldn’t I control my powers then

I killed my own parents

Even if am able to get rid of whatever it is am Cursed with, the truth of killing my own parents will haunt me forever

“Am sorry Mom and Dad” I said aloud as I broke into tears

The door suddenly opened and Liam came in

“Are you alright?” He asked as he sat beside me

“Am fine” I replied as I cleaned my tears

“You thought of your parents?” He asked and I nodded

“Everything’s gonna be fine” He said as he hugged me and I sniffed

We disengaged from the hug and he looked at me

“Are you okay now?” He asked and I nodded

“You should get some sleep then” he said as he stood up to leave but I held his hand

“Are you okay?” I asked

“What?”

“I mean, the Soul Hunters killed Charlie and you guys seemed really close” I said

“He’s my uncle” he said “And thanks for asking, am fine”

🍂 Liam’s POV 🍂

“He said something before he died, something about you not being the last Walker” Daphne said

“I…. I totally forgot about that” I said as I sat back on the bed

“He said you should find Aria, Who’s Aria?” She asked

“I don’t know, I had no idea there was still another Walker existing apart from my uncle and I, Maybe Aria is a Walker” I said

“How are we gonna find her?” She asked

“I don’t know Daphne, I don’t know. I think we should just concentrate on finding the orphanage you were adopted from for now. I’ve placed some of the Musk roots round the house and since its also raining, they went be able to detect our scents that easily so we should both get some sleep while we can, I have a feeling tomorrow’s gonna be a really long day” I said and she nodded

“Good night then” I said standing up

“Good night” she replied and I left the room

I went to one of the empty rooms and I cleaned and dusted the bed

I laid on the bed facing the ceiling

I aren’t sleepy at all

How can my life change so much in such a short time

Was all this destined to happen to me right from the start

Now Charlie is dead and he said am not the last Walker

Throughout my life I’ve never heard about any other Walker apart from the ones I knew and they are all dead

Is Aria a Walker?

Why does Charlie want me to find her?

How am I gonna find her

I kept thinking of everything and I didn’t even know when i fell asleep

🍂 Daphne 🍂

The rays of sun shone across my face waking me up

I slowly stood up from the bed and looked out through the window

For the first time in 22 years, I slept

I saw childrens going to school, adults going to work and some teenagers arguing

And then I felt a bang on my head and I suddenly became dizzy

It’s been long I felt this much emotions from so many people all at once

My skin was on fire and my heart was shredding into pieces

I was slowly becoming unconscious

The pain is too much for my body to contain

My eyes were closing and I was falling

But two strong arms caught me and everything became quiet and cool

I slowly opened my eyes

It was Liam

“Are you alright?” He asked and I nodded slowly

We sat down on the bed and I rested for a while

“We should start looking for any clue about the orphanage I came from, Charlie said not to stay in a place for too long” I said

“Where exactly should we start looking?” Liam asked

“In my Dad’s office” I replied

“Office?” Liam asked

“Yeah, he has an office at home and he keeps all his doc-ments there” I said

“We should go there then” Liam said

We both stood up with Liam holding my hand

We walked to the room my Dad used as his office and there were cobwebs and dust everywhere

“We should clean this place” I said

“We don’t have time for cleaning, like you said, we should leave here soon, we can’t stay in one place for too long” he said

We went over to the shelf and started looking through it

We were really slow since we were still holding hands

“This isn’t working” Liam said “I can’t go through all the books and doc-ments here with one hand”

“What should we do then?” I asked

He kept silent for a moment, thinking

And the he removed his belt and tied our ankles together

“All that is needed is skin contact, now our hands are free” he said and I smiled

We took different books and doc-ments from the shelf and looked through it

We are faster in it now

We spend more than an hour but we couldn’t find anything

“Found something!” Liam squealed and I quickly looked at the papers he was holding

“My adoption papers” I said and he nodded

“Hope orphanage Buckley road West Haven, that’s where you were adopted from” Liam said

“We should go there now” I said

“Yes but before that we need to get some new clothes, we can’t keep going around in one cloth” Liam said and puffed

“Do you know how many years I’ve been wearing this cloth?” I asked raising my brows

“No, I don’t wanna know” he said shaking his head vigorously and I laughed

“But still, we should get some clothes and food supplies on our way since we have no fixed place to stay for now” he said and I agreed

“Let’s go then” he said

“Your belt” I said pointing at our ankle and he laughed

“Sorry, I forgot” he said as he removed it

We went out of the house and walked towards the car

“There are many people around and I’ll have to let go of you for us to enter the car, will you be able to handle it?” Liam asked

“Yeah it’s only for a short moment” I replied

Liam let go of my and we quickly ran into the car

And he held my hand

“Did it hurt?” He asked

“Not much since it was only for a short moment”

“Let’s go to the orphanage then” he said as he started the car

I wonder what discovery awaits us at the orphanage

👀 EPISODE 7 👀

🍂 Liam’s POV 🍂

I drove for almost an hour before we finally found the orphanage

We passed by a convenience store and we bought some canned food and many bottled water

I continued driving while Daphne ate some of the food

Soon, we reached the orphanage and I packed the car outside the building

We came down from the car and I held Daphne’s hand

“Ready?” I asked

“Yeah” she replied and we walked into the orphanage

There were lots of children and some of them were playing about

A small boy was running in our direction and unknowingly bumped into us

“Come back here Evan!” A lady shouted as she ran towards the boy that bumped into us

The lady caught the boy

“Now go to your room!” she yelled and the boy ran off

The lady looked at us “Are you guys here to make an adoption?” She asked

“No, we came to make some enquiry” I said

“About what?” The lady asked

“My foster parents adopted me from this orphanage, here are the adoption papers” Daphne said giving the lady the adoption papers and the lady read through it

“We just want to know how I came to this orphanage cause am trying to trace my parents and it’s very important for me to find them” Daphne said

“Am sorry but I can’t help you guys, the only person that would have been able to help you is the Directress and she travelled yesterday” the lady said and my heart sank

“When will she be back?” Daphne asked

“Tomorrow” the lady said and my heart lightened up

“Will it be okay if we wait for her?” I asked

“Yeah, I think we still have an empty room where you can pass the night, lemme take you there” the lady said

We followed the lady to a nice though small room and it had its personal bathroom

“Hope you guys can manage this?” She asked

“Of course, thank you so much” Daphne said with a smile

“What time will the Directress be here tomorrow?” I asked

“It depends on how fast her journey is, but she should be here by noon tomorrow” she said

“Thanks alot” I said

“You welcome” she said and left

We entered the room and sat down

“I guess we’ll have to spend the night here” I said

“What if the Soul Hunters find us here, we’ll be putting everyone here in danger” Daphne said

“I don’t think they’ll find us that quickly, we’ll leave immediately we talk to the Directress but for now, I should probably spread some musk roots round the room and the orphanage” I said

“You’ll have to do that alone, am kinda sleepy” Daphne yawned and I chuckled “Do you think I sleep much?” She asked

“For someone who didn’t have much sleep for 22 years, I’d say no” I said and she smiled

She laid down on the bed but I still held her hand

“You sure you wont feel anything if I let go of your hand?” I asked

“Of course, but you’ll have to wait till I really fall asleep, I can’t feel anything while am asleep” she replied

“But what if you wake up before I come back?” I asked

“Then I’ll just have to endure it, don’t worry I’ll be fine” she said with a smile

I kept silent and few minutes later, Daphne was asleep

I slowly let go of her hand and she was still sleeping peacefully

I smiled and walked out of the room

I took the car and went to one of the local shops

I bought some clothes for Daphne and I
Then I drove back to the orphanage

I went to the room and Daphne was still asleep

I dropped the clothes and went back to the car

I took the bag of Musk roots and spread some of it round the orphanage

“Liam” someone called and I turned but I saw no one

Am definitely sure I heard my name

Maybe I misheard

I shrugged it off and continued spreading the musk roots around

“Liam Walker” I had a voice call again

I looked around and saw a little boy standing in front of me, he didn’t look ordinary, he got that kind of mysterious look

“Who are you?” I asked

“Come to me” he said and before I could blink my eyes, I couldn’t see him anymore

What the hell just happened

Then I heard a scre-m and I quickly ran into the orphanage to our room

I met the lady that gave us the room there with Daphne

Daphne was sweating, p-nting and got a pained expression on her face

I could tell she’s in pain from the lady’s emotions

I quickly went to her side and held her hand and she calmed down a bit

“It seems your wife had a nightmare cause I heard her scre-m” the lady said

“Yeah, thanks so much and sorry for disturbing you” I said and she smiled

“It’s okay, just take care of her” she said and left

“What happened?” I asked Daphne

“I woke up but you weren’t around and the pain from everyone’s emotions were really painful and I was trying really hærd not to scre-m, I managed to stand up and I went to the bathroom. Immediately I walked into the bathroom I heard someone call my name and I looked around but I didn’t see anyone, then I walked to the mirror to look at my face and then I saw a writing on the mirror and that was when I scre-med”

“What was written in the mirror?” I asked

“Come to me’ and it was written in blood” she said

“Come to me?” I asked and she nodded

“While I was outside, I heard my name too, at first I saw no one but then I saw a boy and all he said was ‘Come to me’ and then I couldn’t see him again” I said

“Strange” Daphne said and I nodded

“I wonder what it means, why did this happen to us at the same time” I said

“This is becoming complicated Liam” Daphne said

“Don’t worry, am sure we’ll figure everything out eventually” I said and she nodded

“I hope so too”

I stretched my arm as I opened my eyes

Daphne was still asleep beside me and her head was on my arm

I slowly took my hand and luckily, she didn’t wake up

I went to the bathroom, took a bath and wore one of the clothes I bought

“Daphne” I called as I tapped her

“Liam” she said as she woke up

“It’s past morning, you should get a bath and get dressed before the Directress arrival” I said and she nodded

And then it dawned on me

Will she be able to go to the bathroom alone?

Or will I have to hold her even while she’s bathing; I thought and a smile crept on my face

What are you thinking Liam
Snap out of it

“Why are you smiling?” Daphne asked

“Are you…. Will you…… Should I …” I didn’t know how to get the words out

“If it’s about going to the bathroom alone, don’t worry I can manage” she said

“But the pain…”

“I’ll endure it” she said as she let go of my hand, took a cloth and went into the bathroom

“Pervert” I said as I slapped myself

It’s evening and the Directress has still not arrived

“When will she be here” I asked the lady

“Any minute from now, I called her and she said she’s close by” the lady said

“Don’t worry, she’ll be here soon” Daphne said

“Am not worried about her coming late Daphne, am more worried about the Soul Hunters finding us, we’ve stayed here long enough and I don’t want to put anyone here in danger” I said

“She’s here” the lady announced as a car pulled up in the compound

The door open and an old lady came out of the car, she’ll probably be in her sixties or seventies

The lady went and collect the Directress bag while we just greeted her

We followed her to her office and she sat down on a chair while we sat on the two chairs in front of her

I was still holding Daphne’s hand

“So, my assistant told me you’ve been waiting for me since yesterday” she said

“Yes, we came to enquire something from you” l said

“What is it then?” She asked

“My name is Daphne Hills, I was adopted from this orphanage” Daphne said bringing out the adoption papers

The Directress collected it and went through it

“Do you by any chance remember how I got to this orphanage in the first place?” Daphne asked

“Daphne Hills” the Directress called with a smile “You’ve grown so much, how can I ever forget how you ended up here, it was such a spectacular moment”

“How did she get here, who brought her here?” I asked

“And you are?” The Directress asked

“Liam, Liam Walker” I said and she smiled

“No one brought her here in fact she was given birth to here”

“I was?” Daphne asked

“Yes, I was in my office and a pregnant woman came into the orphanage, that should be around 26 or 27 years ago. She was in labor but the weird thing was that she didn’t want to deliver the baby, she said she only wanted a place to pass the night. Soon the labor pain was too much for her and even though she didn’t want it, the baby was already coming out so we had to help her deliver you right here, that delivery moment was strange, there was storm and heavy wind but no rainfall. The baby finally came out it was you. I gave you to your Mom and she carried you with tears in her eyes, I asked her to name you but she refused, she said I can give you any name I want but your last name must be Hills. ‘She’s a Hills’ she had said ‘that’s her lineage and it’s a Curse she must carry'”

“Curse?” Daphne asked

“Do you remember more of what she said” I asked

“It’s been 27 years my dear, my memory isn’t that sharp anymore but she lamented through out that night of how she shouldn’t have given birth to you, she said she had tried to kill you while you were still in her stomach, she took different kinds of stuff but you didn’t die. She gave you to me and asked me to register you into the orphanage and then I couldn’t find her in her room the next day”

“That’s all, you don’t remember anything else?” I asked

“Before she gave Daphne to me, she said something I didn’t quite understand”

“What did she say?” Daphne asked

“You don’t outrun the Curse, The Curse outruns you’ she had said with tears in her eyes before giving you to me” the Directress said
