My Nanny is really crazy than I thought. I knew she’d beat the guys up if they hadn’t left the moment she asked them to not minding if she gets beaten by them instead.
She acted so worked up because of what one of them said about me and that triggers me more to tell her to teach me the language
What’s the meaning of what he said? I asked her
It’s nothing but something he wasn’t supposed to say. It’s an abusive word he used, so I had to react that way. Don’t mind my impulsive self. okay? She answered
I sensed that though, because that was how dad reacted when you uttered an insulting word to me the other day.
I wanna learn the language, even if it’s not everything about it. I wanna learn some words like the abusive ones, the ones you use for greeting and the ones you use for appreciating… I said and she smiled.
Wow! It’s a good thing you’re so eager to learn your father’s language .
I’d love to teach you as well but what if your dad doesn’t approve of it, you know we can’t go against your dad’s wish…
Yeah that’s true, but I’m granny wouldn’t be the same. She’s always wanted me to learn how to speak the language and even how to eat the local dishes.
So I’ll talk to her about it. She can discuss it with dad. I’m sure he wouldn’t wanna disobey his mother too just as I dare not to disobey him.

Yeah there’s another thing I’d like to ask of you. I said and she stopped walking and looked at me.

Your complexion speaks so well of your family background. You look like a person born of a wealthy family, you’ve got a glowing skin with a pretty face.
So, why is it that you don’t look rich nor classy, is it that you were just gifted with the kind of skin or there’s a story to tell? I asked
Hmmn! She sighed heavily. I’ve buried the memory a long time ago but you’re gonna make me dig into the past.

Yeah I’d love to hear the answer I’m sure I’ll know the question when I hear what the answer is. Granny said again and took a sit beside me, so we both sat opposite the narrator.
Yeah! My story goes thus… I’m Michelle Reed a 28years old undergraduate of the university of Lagos, studying Economics.
My mom’s Miriam Reed and my dad’s Martin Reed. I was born in the states.
My dad’s an American and my mom’s a Nigerian, so I was born of half American and half Nigerian so that’s why I’ve got the complexion of a foreigner.
My family was once a happy one. But it turned the other way round when my dad’s colleagues killed him out of enviousness
My dad was a renowned successful billionaire and he’s well known for his caring and loving attitude.
All my father’s family said was that my mom was the one that caused their son’s death and that’s why I always regret ever having a foreigner as a father.
They deprived us of his properties and even forcefully collected everything mom had in her name away from us.
Mom has been living in deep sadness ever since. She couldn’t get any befitting job ever since and that’s how our lives transformed from rich to low life.
That’s why I’m so determined to be successful so imma make my father’s family regret ever renouncing us. When u say successful, I mean extremely influential. She narrated
That’s touching, I’m sorry you had to go through all that. Now I know why you’ve got a beautiful face. I said and she smiled but I could tell she’s sad.
I think the question she asked you is about your life history. Granny said and she nodded.

“So what did you do to those that killed your father and how did you know he was killed” we heard someone ask and turned to the direction the sound came from.

Dad! Since when have you been listening to the story. When did you get here?
Well I got here not long ago but I’m sure I heard half of the story. I was actually looking for you and granny so I decided to come check here and I happen to find y’all listening to your Nanny speak with rapt attention,
You were so engrossed with it that you didn’t notice my presence here. Now, back to my question. What did you do to them and how did you know he was murdered. He asked
He had a friend that told us what they were conspiring at the office. Despite how careful he was, he was still killed by accident.
His car break was tampered with and a bomb was planted at his car booth.
We couldn’t do anything because we were made powerless by his family. They refused to believe my mom’s story and criticized her instead.
Once I become successful, Imma get a revenge for my Father No matter what it takes. She said answering dad’s question
Do you know who they are? He asked again
No, I don’t but I’ll make research when the time comes… She answered
Alright! I’m sorry you had to pass through all that ,Just have it at the back of your mind that all will be well. Okay? He said
“Yes sir” she replied

Make sure you take good care of my daughter, I think I’ve settled you very well. Make sure she doesn’t lack anything and make sure you get back on time. Dad said to my Nanny as we got to the car, ready to leave for nanny’s school.
I promise to take good care of her and we shall return as early as possible, put your mind at rest. She replied, just then dad’s phone rang
He answered the call and gave our house’s address to the person he was talking to, I could sense he’s talking to a lady because he kept smiling broadly as he spoke with her.
Dad who was that and why did you give the person our home address? I asked as he ended the call.
Oh! I’m sorry I didn’t tell you this earlier, it was an old colleague of mine. I happen to meet her again during the last business trip I went on
She was with me when I got the call that you were sick, she called me few days ago that she’s in the country and would love to pay me a visit. And at the same time to meet you physically. He said
Hmmn! So what are you gonna do now that I’ll be away for a week? Are you gonna let her stay till I return?

Sweetheart! You can’t decide for your dad. He might be taking a great risk but we should let him do what he intends to do.
We’ll only take action if things aren’t going on in the right way. She replied
Have you ever had the thought of becoming dad’s wife, I mean do you have feelings for my dad? I asked
C’mon, you’re still a kid how come you know all these? What do you know about feelings? Mind you, I’ve never had the thought of becoming your dad’s wife.

Never mind, i think I need to text granny to come back. She needs to be aware of what dad’s trying to do, at least she’d be able to monitor him till we return. I said
Yeah! That’s a good idea, call her right away… She said
She said she’ll return tomorrow morning. I trust granny for not taking shits from anyone. I said

we’ve arrived. So let’s hurry out so we’ll offload our baggages and prepare before the time we’ll be going to school clocks. she said and I ran out immediately out of excitement

We got to their faculty and the lecturer firstly addressed them all before telling them to come Into his office one after the other.
I took my time to introduce myself to her friends and they introduced themselves to me as well. They’re really amazing and I even took picture with some of them.
He called them in one after the other and my Nanny happens to be the last person he called.
Her friend waited behind for her while others left immediately they’ve been told what to do.
I waited with her friend and we were busy chit chatting when she suddenly started hissing
Why are you hissing, what’s the problem? I asked her
The Man’s just being stupid, he intentionally called her name last because he wanted time for himself.
He’s been trying to lure her into his bed and I pray he doesn’t punish her by not approving her chapters….She said
Wow! That’s indeed stupid. I’m coming, give me some minutes… I said and went to the front of his office
I eavesdropped on their conversation and heard him trying to walk closer to her and I’m sure he’s gonna harass her.
I ran in immediately. “Mom! I called.
Mom! I need to pee.. I said pretending to be feeling uneasy.
She stared at me in a way that speaks about how surprised she was.
Mom! I called again and stamped my feet on the floor…
Oh! I’m sorry sweetie, she said playing along.
Excuse me sir, I need to take my daughter to the ladies. I’ll be right back. She said
Daughter? You have a kid already? He asked surprised
“Yes sir” she replied
“Yeah she’s my mom and I’m her daughter” mom let’s go, it’s coming already.. I said and dragged her out.
