Chapter Thirty Six

Zoe

” I hope she forgets about him soon, which boyfriend don’t check on his girlfriend after she got into an accident ”

” right from the start I knew that boy was no good” my dad muttered, pain in his voice ” she is running mad looking for him, from today she is moving back into our home and as soon as the holiday is over she is going to a boarding school to finish her high school”

” what about the boys they will miss her” mum tried changing dads mind but I know that won’t work

” well she haven’t been staying with the boys have she??, all she has been doing during this holiday is to stay with that bastard” he gro-n ” look at my daughter condition, if I haven’t seen this Ares man for myself I will think he is a drug dealer and have made Zoe addicted”

” maybe you’re right ”

I remain quite, pretending I was still asleep, did Ares really leave me, he did help me but didn’t even try checking on me?? Not even once..why??

” am going to get the fruits be right back ” dad excuse himself out, I opened my left eye and watch my mum move to the bathroom, I exhale before sitting up, I have to see Ares, something is wrong

Pulling the drip off my hands I slowly stand to my feet, holding my stomach as I open the door slowly, I look left and right, doctors, nurse and patients on wheel chair passing by

I quickly close the door and head to the way out, with each step I take my stomach hurts badly, why didn’t Ares heal me himself, that will have been faster. This still hurts

I got a glimpse of may face accompanied with my dad, they seem to be talking and in less than few minutes their gaze will land on me

I look around myself, s₱0t a door which I quickly open, get in and close it ” that was a relieve ” turning around I stare at the different clothes hand all over the room

Now this will be a good disguise, taking off this plane blue dress, I put on a jean trouser which wasn’t my size but manageable, followed by a brown shirt, roll my hair and put on a cap

Nodding my head I open the door and fasten my steps through the doors and finally out of the hospital, a red alarm t-rn on alerting everyone of a missing patient

The moment I heard that I ran as fast I can before anyone notice me, I was scared of taking into a cab so I decided to walk, the hospital was really far from Ares place

My legs and stomach hurt badly, I was growing weak and I have no idea if I could make it to Ares in time, I just have a feeling that something is happening to Ares

Instincts or not, am scared for him, my mind went back to the dead body I fell on while running away, I did stare at it for a while and know it was a woman body, a woman with dark hair

What was she doing on the ground in the middle of the road and what do these people want with me, I have never hurt anymore and I don’t think I have enemies

Is it because Ares is with me, is that why he haven’t visited me for days, is that why he acted so cold to me, is he still mad at me, I want to make it up to him

Walking by the side of the road, cars, bikes and bicycle passed by. taking my last step I fell down, the wh0le world turning upside down right before my eyes

Ares

My breathing won’t slow down ” blood, more blood, more descendants hearts!!” I laughed, the need was too strong for me to handle, I had no idea why was I was killing or what my body is doing right now

Nor do I know what I keep saying out loud, it felt like I couldn’t control my body, a scent caught my attention, my nails grow longer, the instinct of killing came back to me in full force

I tried moving my hands but couldn’t, I tried standing but I couldn’t then it all came to me, Xar and Zar chained me up in the basement

The scent came closer as Zar came in view, he stare at me like I was a different person, has my face also changed?? ” what happened to Ares” he gro-n

I wanted saying it was me but I couldn’t, some other words came out of my mouth ” he is dead and gone for life ” I know this is Salvador doing, I shouldn’t have allowed rage and revenge consume me like that

” did you know what you caused by killing lunox, do you know how that shit will affect us huh” Xar is yelling now ” why do you allow this stupid skull to control you and still controlling you ”

Because Zoe isn’t here, I want my little mouse if not what am I living for, absolutely nothing ” lunox death might have probably reach the counsel…. We are f-cked, f-cked up”

” are you missing the fact that my little mouse almost got killed by her ” I gro-n, they step back as I tried breaking the chain ” do you have any idea how they punched and break her bones??? Do you know Zoe almost die!!” This time I yell getting angry at them

” he won’t say anything else, I have a plan ” Xar muttered, they both turn around to leave me in this shit h0le, when am out of this am teaching them a good lesson

” get this thing off me ” I tried breaking the chain but no matter what I do it doesn’t bulge ” now!!”

Chapter Thirty Seven:

Zoe

Blinking my eyes I take in my surrounding, the room painted red with yellow curtains, I sit up, my hands move to my head ” ouch” it really hurts ” hello!!!” Silences reply me

Getting off the bed I open the room, walk downstairs to a small living room, someone sat there, his gaze fix on his newspaper ” hello??” That got his attention, he drop the newspaper and our gaze met

Pair of brown eyes stare into Mine ” you’re awake ” he stand to his feet then place his hands on my forehead ” your fever is down ”

” I have to go ” I muttered and he frown ” you have no energy to leave this place, I checked and all your bones are sore, you need rest ”

” look am thankfully someone picked me up, if I have much time I would have thanked you properly but someone needs my help ” words kept coming out of my mouth as I approach the door ” thank you again”

” wait!!” He muttered, grab his jacket and keys ” I will drive you, you are in no state to walk” I had no idea kind people are still in this world, why is he helping me exactly

I nod as we step out and I hop in his car, the ride was quite and smooth making me think clearly ” what happened to you” he muttered drawing my gaze to meet his, half of his attention still on the road

Am usually scared of strangers but this man has this weird vibe coming from him” almost got killed ” he nod his head, his eyes still on the road ” why did you help me ” I asked needing to know

” because you’re beautiful ” this time his gaze met mine, his l-ips curve into a smile, after taking in my expression he chuckle ” am a doctor miss, I help people…that’s what I do ”

” oh”

” but you’re beautiful ”

Usually I will smile when I get such compliment but right now am worried about Ares, am also worried that he didn’t visit because he is angry

” that way ” I directed him, we keep getting close and panic was rising in me, I had no idea why I feel this way ” please hurry, something is wrong” I muttered placing my hands on my chest

He stare at me for few minutes before speeding up, I hope I get there on time. The moment we arrive I open the door, jump off it but he stopped me” I didn’t get your name….am Fred”

Turning around I smile ” Zoe ” after that I left him in his car and run in,side the mansion, everything was arranged properly, just like how it was ” Ares!!!” I yell climbing the stairs but suddenly stopped, a loud noise came underneath me and I frown

” Charles!!!” I yell but no reply, is anyone home?? Everywhere is so quiet ” Xar, Zar!!” Still no reply

The noise came again, like an animal fighting to free itself from chaines, I have to know. I move to the elevator and typed seventh floor, I have never been there before, it has to be it

The moment it close instead of going up, it went down, I scre-m, my heart almost jumping off my chest, it kept falling and my heart kept pounding

Stopping I exhale but when it opened I look around, everywhere is dark and am not with any phone or torch of any sort

Walking step after step, I couldn’t stop feeling scared, its as dark just like Salvador’s place, stepping on a stick it made a little crack sound and I quickly place my hands on my chest and stood still, no monster came

Thank god

I kept walking and trying to see what this place is before my leg miss a step and I fell straight on my stomach ” ouch!! “The pain shoot from my tummy to my head then rest of my body, gro-ning I lift myself slowly up but then stopped

Pair of green eyes stare down at me and I didn’t even realized I scre-m crawling back a little ” Ares??” He title his head to the left, why is he chained ” Salvador?? ”

” glad you know the difference ” he muttered his voice deep, what did he do to Ares, half of Ares face is covered with skull, the transformation is complete, They are one

” where is Ares” I step closer and he laughed ” Ares is dead descendant”

” why do you keep calling me that ” I asked, he open his mouth to talk but then suddenly close it, he tried again but the same thing happened

” I like calling you that ” he finally muttered sweating seriously, looks like they are fighting who is in control of the body but I want Ares back

” come back to me ” I lift my hands moving it to his face ” Ares??” Before I could touch him I was pulled back in a swift motion, turning around xar stand there

” Zoe you’re not safe here…go to the living room ” they help me up but I shook my head ” zoe, this isn’t Ares, he will do something to you ”

” nothing will happen…. ” Zar didn’t let me finish before he start pulling me out of there ” let go of me Zar ”

” this is for your own good ”

” let go of her!!” Ares gro-n followed by the chained breaking into two, I could see fear in Zar and Xar eyes, Zar throw me over his shoulders before they start running, Ares feet wasn’t far behind and I know he will catch up soon

This isn’t Ares, he will never hurt Xar and Zar. Biting Zar shoulder I made him fall, he crawl away from me, he was sweating and when I turn around Ares stood there, really huge than expected

” is okay” I said lifting my hands and feet to reach his face, his breathing heavy, everywhere dark but his green eyes shine out ” am okay Ares….nothing happen, come back to me ” touching his cheek I watch him title his head to his left ” stop feeling bad about yourself ” He grab my wrist squeezing them

” what do you think you’re doing ” Salvador said frowning

” Zoe run!!” Zar and Xar muttered but I shook my head

” I thought we were friends Salvador and you’re hurting me” his frown lessen, he sigh then let go of my hands ” bring Ares back to me ”

” I like being in control ”

” but I want Ares, I love him” holding his hands I step closer ” fulfil your friend wish ” I bat my eye lashes and he smile, he actually smile

Lifting my feet I remember he love k-sses on foreheads so I gave him one, a long, soft k-ss on his forehead ” little mouse ” his size reduced and I stare at Ares, his hair messy, his face back to normal

Tears threatening to fall from my eyes ” you left me in a hospital for weeks” I muttered

” am sorry”

” I thought you’re still mad at me ”

” sorry ” using my hands I hit his head ” why did you let him take over you, I almost run mad when I woke up and you weren’t there” before I could hit him again, he grab my wrist

” sorry ” his silver eyes burn down into my blue eyes ” I didn’t want to taint your soul with my filthy body ” his hands move to my chin and lift my face, drawing his closer ” I miss you darling ” after that he k-ssed me, a sweet and slow k-ss on my l-ips
