DARK NIGHT EPISODE 19

“I brought you goodnews that will shake your entire body system”. Shadow pronounced as they sat together gisting: how he finally had the first k-ss of his life and, he would now free them because there’s no more case or riddle to unlock concerning Beauty.
First Officer:
Na wa o, we have all done a lot and never believed our effort will avail to nothing.
Shadow:
(Sadly)
Don’t make me cry, let’s accept our fate. God is the only one that knows what is in the secrets. We’re all human, that shows our limitations.
Second Officer:
Yes, oga. What do we do about the Toyin concubine you brought here?
Shadow:
Oh! What question! He is in the mortuary now, we can’t just leave his corpse there to cause another havoc to his neighbors and the entire society.
First Officer:
It still pains me shar, so I only suffered and injured for nothing sake. Shaii, there’s god o!
The admitted officer was discharged and everyone returned with the hope that the “case is over”. There’s a great silence for complete three days. On the fourth day morning, Shadow received a call from the hospital that the young man he had brought was conscious. He was so glad, finally, God has butter his bread. He wanted to do it all alone, took his car and played a popular song “Godwin” by Korede Bello. Smiling and dancing with his head, fingers and toes. It was about few houses to the hospital when another call came in.
Hello!
“Oga Shadow, they have come o. In fact, they will be taking away those criminals from our station today. So, if you do not come right now, that will be the end. And, don’t forget to call your lawyer too, of course, I believe you will know what to do.” The voice said.
The call ended. He matched break. Packed at the side road confusedly. What country is this? He angrily stopped the music while his thought was made him act madly. “Ok, shadow! Calm down. He spoke to himself. He new any delay on the two matters can tarnish it, and he must not bring in any of his officer. It’s like the elder saying that “a man cannot beg his son to help him defecate.” He must do it all alone. He picked up his phone, called the doctor to ensure strict guard was taken on the former security to the extent of not allowing him make any call nor making a step. While he drove off to the station.

In a country where everyone proves they have long voice than others. The station was rowdy, He saw their DPO and asked why he would suddenly release the prisoners without his prior notice.
DPO:
Mr Shadow, I’m very sorry. An order from above that I cannot but follow. I just have to let them go. I believe you’ll understand.
He never waited to hear anything from him, departed straight to his office. Shadow brought out his phone and made a call. As the bus conveying the criminals about to leave, the DPO ran out from his office like a madman, sweating profusely. “Stop!!! Don’t go!!! Stooooooop!!! He shouted. He stood at the front of the bus and ordered them alight.
Driver:
DPO, why now, what happened?
DPO:
You can’t move an inch. Let everybody come down.
Driver:
I don’t understand here again, but boss is waiting for us and we’re getting late.
DPO:
My friend, just come down, else!
DPO pointed gun at the driver as he wanted to drive and run away. Some of the officers too joined him. The station became noisy center. Shadow took a seat at the front of the station. Looking at the drama and laughing like watching mark angel comedy. The police were still dragging with the criminals when DSS arrived and took them away from the policemen.
“OK, you have done your worst right, later you will say we’re friends” the DPO said to shadow, breathing heavily as he returned to his office.

“Please, I want you to give them thorough punishment that they will confess who sent them, even the person that worked on their release too. I want to know him. If this thing continue in our country, it means justice is too faraway from us. Last thing, please, I’m giving you 24 hours to provide me the information.” He dropped the call and went to the hospital, in the seclusive ward, Bobo (the former security who had an affair with Toyin – chief wife) was deeply asleep. He woke him but like a corpse, he checked his heartbeat pumping. So he went to enquire from the doctor. He was told that Bobo was causing trouble which made them injected him. “He will not be conscious till morrow morning, I thought you won’t arrive so soon” the doctor explained. ‘No problem doctor, I appreciate your good work, he replied, I will come back tomorrow morning. Do take care” they shook and departed.

He made alone journey to the prison where Beauty has accepted as home without an ounce of hope. The cell remains dilapidated, the once African beauty has slimed, worn out that even ugliness is more beautiful than her: except she smiles.
Shadow:
Hey!
Beauty:
Hey!
Shadow:
My long friend
Beauty:
(Smiled)
You came around, don’t tell me you’re here because of me.
Shadow:
Of course, I’ve missed you.
They both laughed, sat and talked. He told her about his intension of settling down with her friend, Chioma but never being a man enough to woo her. He promised her that her case will be revisited and told her to keep praying because that’s what he needed to finish strong. They were still gisting when his phone rang;
The voice:
Mr Shadow, we have tortured the kidnappers, and they all confessed their leader. They called him Gbosky a politician puppet.
