💘Episode Forty Nine💘

🌸Flora POV🌸

I paved the reception frantically with a lot of thoughts running through my head.
The doctor has been with Zayn for the past one hour and he was yet to tell us something about his state.

“This your worried state won’t help, Flora” Mum says as she walks after me.
Dad and David already left for some urgent work.

“Then what should I do?” I turned to her and asked, tears are forming in my eyes.

“Let’s just hope for a better result, I believe they’ll be fine” Mum assures, tapping my back tenderly.
I looked at her and forced a short nod.

“You need to go home and have your dress change” Mum said after a brief silence.
I just shook my head sideways- I’m not leaving Zayn.

“Your dress is stained Flora” She said again.
Dad also said the same thing before he left, but I do not care.

I placed my head on mum’s shoulder,
still waiting for the Doctor- I can’t just help but pray inwardly.

Nothing must happen to my Zayn.

My eyes traveled to my left side and I saw the Doctor that was with Zayn , I quickly stood up as I watched him approach where I was standing.

“How’s he doing, Doctor?” I asked him immediately he got to us.

He looked from my face to Mom’s and my heart beat skip.

“Tell us something” I almost yell.
Mom places a hand on my shoulder.

“Why aren’t you saying anything, Doctor?”

“Zayn is fine right? He’s doing okay, isn’t it?”

“He wants to see me?” I rushed my words without holding back a breath.

“Who’s the other lady?” The doctor asked.

Huh?

“She’s Zayn’s friend” I replied quickly.

The doctor sighed before shaking his head.

“She was really affected by the hit of the truck, I guess she was the one driving” He explained.

I just watched him impatiently.

He shook his head again.
“I don’t know how to explain more but we lost her” He announced and my heart struck.

“What do you mean?” I mumbled.

“I’m sorry ma’am, we couldn’t save her life” He said.

I lower my head.

Although, Violet and I were not in good terms but I never wished her die.

May her soul rest in peace.

“How’s Zayn?” I asked after a short silence.

The doctor smiled.

“Actually he loses a lot of blood” He began and my heart tremble.

“You’ve nothing to worry about ma’am, we already found his blood type so he’s doing alright” He explained and I sighed with relief.

“Can I go see him now?” I asked him.
He smile.
“Not now ma’am, but maybe tomorrow” he answered.

“Which of you is related to the deceased?” The doctor asked.
Mom and I exchange a glance.

“Me”

“Please come with me” He says and walk away.

I turned to my mom and she gave me a reassuring look.

“Please have your seat” The doctor says as he gestured to the two chairs opposite his swivel chair around the table.

Oh lord..
What does he want to say?

I settled on the chair.

“You need to freshen up ma’am” He says
“After all, your Zayn is doing better” He jokes.

I smile and look down at my fingers on my thighs.

“I will doctor”
“You want to tell me something?” I asked him.

“Uhmm.. Yes and it’s about the deceased”

“What’s about her?” I questioned.

“You said you’re related to her right?”

“Not really, she was just a friend of Zayn” I told him.

“Do you by chance know who Ryder is? The doctor asked and my eyes dim.

“Ryder?”
“How do you know Ryder?” I asked him.

“You see.. I don’t like to meddle with my patients personal affairs or something but I really can’t get my mind off this”

“Tell me something doctor”

“Before the lady passed away, she kept repeating these two names which are Ryder and Zayn and I know Zayn to be your husband, isn’t it?” He asked curiously.

I just stare at him.

He cleared his throat.
“That’s all I want to say to you”

Ryder?
Why is my mind whispering a lot to me about Ryder already?

I slowly stood up and bow lightly to the doctor.
“Thank you so much Doctor”

“Anytime ma’am.. I just hope you dig things out about this, I really pitied the lady” He said and I nodded.

I walked out of his office with heavy heart.
Something is definitely fishy somewhere.
But what could it be?
Is it that their accident was caused by someone?

Someone bumped into me and I came back from my thoughts immediately.

“Sorry” He quickly apologized and made to walk away but stop to look at me again.

“Reid”
“Flora” We both call at the same time.

“Oh my goodness.. it’s really you Reid” I squealed and run to his embrace.

We hugged for a short while before disengaging.

“How have you been and what are you doing here?” He asked cheerfully.

“Zayn was involved in an accident” I told him and I watch as his dilated in shock.

“You knew?” He asked with absolute disbelief.

“It’s a long story Reid but why are you just coming to see him though?” I also asked him.

He sighed softly.
“I left the city this morning to take care of things, I must say Zayn hasn’t been doing well since your disappearance so I have to handle stuffs”

I felt sad but at the same time I’m glad he thinks about me.

“Not long ago after I reached my location I received a call from Violet” My heart beat skip at the mentioned of Violet.

“She told me she heard that Ryder wants to tamper with Zayn’s brake pads, I was so confused at the moment so i just gave her Zayn’s location to go inform him about it”

Oh my God!
It’s really Ryder.

“I was even thinking I would get there before her but only for me to received a shocking news that they both involved in an accident”

My throat burnt as tears streamed down my cheeks.

“Violet” I sobbed.
“How’s she doing?” Reid asked.

“Violet, I’m sorry” I cried non stop like she could see me.
“Violet”
“Please forgive me”

Reid pulled me into his chest.
I buried my eyes to his chest as I let out all the tears.

°Reid POV°

“We should get Ryder arrested as soon as possible” Flora says angrily.

We’re both sitting in the hospital cafeteria, Flora just explained all she went through in the hands of Ryder and how Ryder confessed to her he killed her late husband.

“We’ll have a good plan about that Flora but now, Zayn’s health is paramount to us”

“And remember we just lost someone” I reminded her.
Her countenance change to a bitter one.
Yes.. she’s really pained by Violet’s death and even me, she really amazed me with what she did- she saved Zayn’s life.

“Let’s go in, your Mum would be waiting” She nodded in agreement and stood up.

💘Stella POV💘

I returned to my seat, I can’t seat for long and I can’t stand for long either- I’m really worried.

Where could Flora be?
She hasn’t return since she went to meet the doctor, and the doctor said she has left his office for long.

My anxiety has start to grow;
Where could she have gone to?

And William had promised to come back before 3pm to come pick us- I glance at the big clock on the wall, it’s almost 3:00 already.

I stood up again, watching the people entering from the entrance.

I can’t take it anymore.
I picked my bag and rushed out of the reception.

“Where are you rushing to Mum?” Her voice hold me back on tracks.

I turned around and it’s truly her.
I breathe out with relief.

“For Christ sake Flora, where have you been?” I scolded as I walked up to her.
“You know how worried I was?”

“I’m sorry Mum” She pouts her l-ips and I smile.
She will never change.

“Good afternoon Aunt” The guy standing next to Flora greeted.

I smile at him.
“Good afternoon dear” I responded.

“Mum, this is Reid, he’s Zayn’s close friend. They’re more like brothers ” Flora introduces.
“Reid, meet my Mum”

“It’s my pleasure to meet you Reid” I told him.
“Same here Aunt” he says with a chuckle.

A car honks and we all turned towards it’s direction.
Oh.. it’s David.

“Let’s go” I told Flora and walk ahead.
My phone rings from my brown bag and I halted my steps.
I brought it out and the caller ID surprises me.

Marigold.
Why’s she calling?

“What’s it Mum?” Flora asks beside me.

“It’s Marigold, she’s calling” I answered her without looking away from my phone screen.

“Then answer it, let’s hear her” She says and pressed the phone speaker icon.

📲”Hi Stella” She greeted happily.
Flora and I look at each other.

📲”How have you been?”

📲”I’ve been good and you?” I replied.

📲”I’m okay too, you see.. this should be a surprise but I’m really eager to tell you”

Surprise?
📲”What’s it?” I asked.

📲”It’s Flora, Ryder has finally found Flora and he’s bringing her home in the next two days” She announced ecstatically.

Flora and I exchange a look.
Really?

📲”Oh.. really? Where?”

📲”I also don’t know but that shouldn’t be your concern right now, you should be happy your long lost daughter has finally been found”

📲”Yes Marigold, all thanks to your son” I said sarcastically but I guess she’s so happy to notice it.

📲”So I should come to your house after tomorrow right?”

📲”Of course Stella and we’re planning their marriage immediately”

📲”Oh.. that’s really good

📲”I’ll call you before then” I told her.

📲”Alright.. take good care of yourself” she said before ending the call.

Reid, Flora and I share a brief look before erupting in a laughter.

“This will be so much fun” Reid says after the laugh had stop.
Flora and I nodded in agreement.

“I really can’t wait to see the end of Ryder” Flora says through clenched teeth.

Reid and I just smile.

“Let’s go Flora, let’s not keep your Dad waiting” I told her.

“Your Dad?” Reid asked.
Flora smile and nodded.

“A lot has happened to me lately, but I’m glad I could get my family back”

“Bye Reid”he hugs Reid
“Don’t worry, you shall see my Dad tomorrow”
“Awaits a biggest surprise” she winks at him and wave him bye.

“Take care of yourself dear”

“You too ma’am”
And with that, we turned around and walk away.

“How’s meeting your Dad a biggest surprise?” I asked Flora as we headed to where the car is.

She just chuckle and collected my bag from me.

“You really won’t tell me?”
She laughs.
“Let’s go Mum”
