Zenzele
Me: merry Christmas

Fadz: you got me present (laughs)

Me: why are you laughing do you think you are too old for Christmas presents.

Fadz: no… I have just never been the kind of a girl to celebrate Christmas

Me: well… neither have I but this year a lot has happened in my life and I want celebrate.

Fadz: like what

Me: for instance… I got a pretty amazing girl as my girlfriend

Fadz: (frowns) you know my stand on compliments right

Me: I do

Fadz: so?

Me: and I think we have to change that stand.

Fadz: really how

Me: by you accepting that you are beautiful and amazing.

Fadz: (rolls her eyes) yeah right.

Me: you know mom is hosting a New Year’s Eve ball

Fadz: good for you and tell those any bitch who flirts with you that you are taken

Me: (laughs) well… why don’t you tell them yourself.

Fadz: I won’t be there

Me: yes you are…

Fadz: no I won’t

Me: we will see about that.
Her shyness had disappeared as the days went by and she was back to her old self. Christmas day was finally here and I requested her to sneak out for me after I had lunch with my family. I took her to a park where I had laid out a little picnic just for her, as usual she decided to wear ripped jeans a vest and a shirt.
Me: open up your present

Fadz: okay…
She opened the box and w¡dened her eyes in disbelieve
Fadz: What the f-ck!!

Me: so

Fadz: this is an iphone8

Me: I know… do you like it

Fadz: are you crazy… no, I am not accepting this

Me: why… don’t you like it?

Fadz: it’s not that… I just can’t…its… it’s too much

Me: too much huh…. Do you know what I was planning to do?

Fadz: what…

Me: I was planning buying us a house

Fadz: oh my… I hope I am not in a relo with a sicko… dude don’t want your stuff and I don’t want you to spend money on me.

Me: I know… but I need you to have this phone babe… you know, I always want to tell you good night or good morning but I just can’t because there is no way I can contact you

Fadz: so you decided to buy an expensive phone

Me: so what… would you rather choose a fonkong?

Fadz: (laughs)… seriously why did you choose such an expensive phone?

Me: because you deserve the best and because I can

Fadz: yeah… I am not taking it

Me: I am not taking no for an answer babe… it’s yours.

Fadz: you know… every time you appear to be more stubborn than I actually thought you were

Me: stubborn? That’s a first…

Fadz: how old are you

Me: 22 going 23

Fadz: ok
She looked down and I knew that my age has raised the insecurities in her head.
Me: hey… age is just a number okay.

Fadz: gosh I hate that line

Me: did he use it?

Fadz: every time

Me: I will never be him okay.

Fadz: I know

Me: hey… where is your sister, maybe we can have lunch with her.

Fadz: my sister?

Me: yes… the one who helped you.

Fadz: oh… that one, I don’t know.

Me: you got no idea where your sister is… don’t you keep in touch.

Fadz: nope…. I used to. One morning we woke up and she was gone… she had left a letter on the table stating that she was going to find a life.

Me: what did she mean by that…?

Fadz: well my sister has never been on good terms with mom and she hated my dad… her step dad and she always told me that one day she will go and never return

Me: so she just disappeared.

Fadz: no… I actually found her in jail after two months… pregnant and in jail… don’t ask what she had done.

Me: oh dear… well where is her child?

Fadz: with the baby daddy… after conceiving, the guy used to come and chat with her… hey why are we talking about my sister

Me: actually I just wanted to meet her, babe I am sorry about all this.

Fadz: it’s okay it’s not your fault

Me: why don’t we go and give her a surprise visit.

Fadz: she was released a month ago and I never contacted her since then

Me: oh baby… I am sure she will return.

Fadz: you know what’s funny

Me: what…

Fadz: you make it so comfortable for me to tell you about my family but you are so closed in.

Me: yeah that’s really funny, let’s change the topic… do you want to hear a Christmas story

Fadz: I am not up for that… although the story of your life would be more interesting.
My story is a turn off baby
Me: that’s a story for another time baby… right now I just want to k-ss those tiny little l-ips
Trisha
Emily: daddy where are we going

Me: yes… where are we going?

Henry: patience my ladies

Emily: but I want to go to grandma

Henry: but we just left Grandma

Emily: oh daddy… did you forget that I have two grandmas… I miss her

Me: I am with Emily on this Henry

Henry: will you wait just a bit longer.
Henry had decided to take a drive with us after the Christmas lunch with his family and he was so excited my guess was he had a surprise ready for us but now we were driving up a lonely country road not far from the city. He stopped at a huge gate and the guard opened up without questioning. We head up a tree lined lane big enough for four cars on the side there is a vast area of green grass and the view is just amazing…

I remember this place, he once came here with me for a picnic… the day he was supposed to drop me off at work but I fell asleep in the car. He kept on driving and stopped at another entrance the gates opened automatically this time a reasonably house lay behind the gates I looked at him and he kept a straight face. I picked Emily up and henry opened the glass double doors, surprisingly the house was empty.
Me: I thought we were meeting someone… why are we here?

Henry: exploring
The was huge hall way that lead to the living room, the floor was tiled with a beautiful light shade of brown tiles and white walls… the kitchen space was combined with the living room. There was one room downstairs situated next to some restrooms and it deeper in,side there was what looks like it had once been a play room and it had a basement although I decide not to go down there. Emily wriggled off me and started running to the stairs.
Me: be careful sweetheart.

Henry: don’t run on the stairs.

Me: when was this house build?

Henry: last year but no one has bought it because it’s too expensive.

Me: and it’s far from the city… it’s a thirty minutes’ drive.

Henry: with the best driving skills it can take fifteen… although I don’t encourage you to try it.
The ceiling was beige in colour decorated with little light bulbs and in the center of the living room there was a huge beautiful chandelier hanging down.
Henry held my hand and also headed to the wooden stairs that curved all the way to the first floor which as also the last. The wood was incredibly soft getting upstairs it was beautiful… there were four different bedrooms a wall wardrobe on the passage way, another room was a gym and the house didn’t really have windows just huge glass walls with double glass doors to the terrace.

Emily rushes back to us and grabs my hand then leads me across the room to the terrace where she stood with a huge grin on her face and looked down. The view was breath taking starting with the big swimming pool and the large green lawn that was filled with colorful flowers and the abandoned land beyond the yard, it was undisturbed nature and it was beautiful.
Henry: I think there would be great sunsets from here

Emily: its beautiful mommy

Me: wow… henry this is really beautiful

Henry: what do you think about this house?

Me: it’s amazing… who would have thought a house build from a place such as this could bring such peace to the mind.

Henry: do you like it.

Me: of course who wouldn’t love such a house?

Henry: what about you Emily

Emily: it’s beautiful.

Henry: guess what…

Emily: what…

Henry: it’s going to be your house from now on.
What…. What does that mean?
Emily: really… you mean we are moving?
Henry nodded at her and looked at my stunned face with a smile while Emily scre-med her head off.
Me: Henry… really

Henry: yes baby

I laughed out of amazement and gave him a k-ss.
Emily: eew… mommy I am right beside you

Henry: close your eyes then.

Me: I’m sorry sweetheart… I am just way too happy, did your mom agree to this

Henry: yes she did… but after a lot of debating. She was against this.

Me: I can imagine
He took the keys from his wallet and gave them to me.
Henry: Merry Christmas

Me: I feel so bad that I didn’t get you a present.

Henry: no don’t worry about that… later tonight I am getting my present from you.
I blushed and looked at Emily who was totally clueless then I laughed.
Emily: mommy I really love the house but I want to see grandma

Me: yes baby… lets go.
Henry drove us to my mother’s place and to my surprise mom was with her two sisters and her brothers. After greeting them I went with mom to the kitchen.
Me: mom… I didn’t know you had company.

Mom: you expect me to be alone on Christmas day

Me: no mom it’s great that they are here

Mom: yes… you know, nowadays you don’t visit

Me: I know and I feel so bad… hey your tummy is starting to show.

Mom: I know.

Me: what is the gender of the child?

Mom: I don’t know yet… but I think it’s going to a boy… then he can carry on your father’s name

An idea came to my head as soon as mom said that.
Me: I got it… dad’s company will be inherited by the baby

Mom: are you going crazy Trisha

Me: no mom… its brilliant, Zenzie will lead the company until the child is 21 years then he will take over it.

Mom: I didn’t say it was going to be a boy I just said I think….

Me: either way it makes no difference to me… but we have to pray that it’s a boy.
Mom laughed and Henry entered.
Henry: I have to go somewhere I will pick you up later

Me: sure babe
I gave him a k-ss
Henry: mother… my family will be hosting a ball on new year’s eve and mom wanted you to be there… you can invite anyone

Mom: okay henry, I would love to be there

Henry: bye mother

Mom: see you later henry

Henry: Trisha… don’t forget to invite your siblings

Me: sure babe.
Tracy
Henry: what the f-ck is your problem?

Tracy: you are my problem henry… I just can’t understand how you can stoop this low, where is Trisha I said you should come with her

Henry: I wasn’t going to bring my wife when I know that you are up to no good
I called them to a coffee shop but Henry appeared alone, I actually wanted to get this over and done with but Henry was impossible.
Henry: so what did you want to talk about?

Me: I know what you are doing behind Trisha’s back Henry

Henry: and what exactly is that?

Me: oh cut the crap Henry… Emily’s mother is alive and well but you act as if nothing is happening before Trisha what kind of a husband are you.
He froze for a second staring at me
Henry: who told you that?

Me: no one had to tell me I searched for myself…

Henry: I guess that’s why you came to my house… to spill the news

Me: no… I actually came to avoid Trisha from finding out the truth

Henry: (chuckles) and how exactly were you going to do that?

Me: look I met her okay…. I met Stella and she told me that she wants to see her daughter this Christmas… I begged her not to but you know what she told me, she said she will contact Trisha and talk to her, which meant that you didn’t tell her that you killed her… I actually answered her call while I was at your house… on Trisha’s phone… she was so sweet to me and because she thought I was Trisha and you know what I told her

Henry: continue

Me: that I will send her some photos instead and I did.

Henry: okay good… now you will not talk about that ever again.

Me: Henry… I am way past that. It’s about time you tell Trisha the truth
His eyes fell and he kept quiet for a moment.
Henry: Trisha has been through enough Tracy and I am not about to make her go through shit again.

Me: excuse me do you even know Trisha… her values and everything. If you want to spend your wh0le life with her you better come clean now

Henry: or just get rid of any evidence

Me: I agree with you… go and kill her… seriously Henry is that the best solution

Henry: that’s not what I meant

Me: then what did you mean by that

Henry: I will pay her off

Me: pay off… you never learn from your mistakes do you henry… you can’t just pay off people, especially a mother, my advice will be for you to talk to Trisha and solve this mess.

Henry: I told you and I will tell you again… Trisha is not going to cry because of me again.

Me: henry…. Stop playing dum… one way or another, Stella is going to find a way to her daughter if you don’t solve this now… I am pretty sure she is going to leave you.
His eyes suddenly burned with anger and he gritted through his teeth
Henry: Trisha loves me

Me: I know and she also loved Zenzele… remember. Henry I don’t want to lose Trisha if she finds this out herself and learns that I knew about this she is going to connect the dots and find out about you and me and I don’t want that to happen.

Henry: I know how to deal with this, just pretend that you never knew anything.

Me: may I ask how exactly

Henry: I have my ways

Me: yeah, the last time your way ended with Trisha losing her father

Henry: it’s different this time

Me: and it will end differently… henry I can’t just stand and watch you hurt Trisha likes this…. She doesn’t deserve this….

Henry: you know Tracy… you should be helping me not planning on driving my marriage into a pond.

Tracy: what… you are the one driving your marriage into a pond Henry… I am trying to help you save your marriage and not because I like you but because Trisha is my friend.

Henry: Trisha… I beg you please stay out of way o not say a thing to Trisha I will solve this little mess myself.
He stood up and left and I was left feeling even worse than when I woke up this morning. This man thinks this situation is just a little mess and he acts as if he doesn’t know how easily Trisha gets hurt.
