Evelyn’s POV
.
My sisters and I keeping running without having any destination, I keep looking back incessantly hoping to see my mom.
I didn’t see her or but we keep running with hope that she will meet up then we stopped cause I got more worried.
I am very tired of running even my sisters are tired, we’ve never been in a situation like this before.
” Mom should be right behind us” Sarah said.
” Yeah…. my thought exactly” I replied.
” You don’t think maybe he has done something to her as well” she said again.
” No, he can’t……he hurt mom” I replied.
” What should we do now?” Eve asked.
” I need to call Tom…….he can help us” I said then bring out my phone and dialled Tom’s number which he picked immediately.
📞 ” Hello…..Tom” I said immediately he answered.
📞 ” Heyy Evelyn, Merry Christmas” he complimented.
📞 ” Tom, we need your help…….we are in danger” I said.
📞 ” Wait…wait, hold on…… what do you mean you are in danger?…..I thought you said you’re with your parent” He asked.
📞 ” Yes I am, but right now we are being hunted and stranded on this Island, please hurry we need a boat” I said.
📞 ” What about the port management?…..have you contacted them?” He asked.
📞 ” They are unavailable today……they are on holiday” I replied.
📞 ” Alright I’ll be on my way…..how about you tell me exactly what’s going on?” He demanded.
📞 ” We were being t……….” I was saying then I heard my phone making a sound.
OhmyGod, No NO NO This can’t be happening
My phone can’t be off in time like this, Not Now….not in a situation like.
Please, please, please don’t be off
” did any of you have your phone with you?” i asked my sisters and they nodded negatively.
” No, we left the house in a hurry unable to bring any phone” Sarah replied.
NO, This is not good, not good at all
” what should we do now?, i’m scared sister” sophie said then i thinking of a way.
” EVELYN, you can run but you can’t run forever, you can’t run from me” i heard Destry’s voice shouting.
” OhmyGod, he’s coming for us…mom was unable to stop him” Eva said.
” Your Father, Mother and your sister is dead and i’m coming for the rest of you” He said then we gasped out in shocked.
” OHMYGOD…..BEtty” Sarah exclaimed crying along with the rest.
” NO,No no no, this can’t be happening…..No Not Betty” i said crying as well.
Not betty, No not betty, she’s innocent
My dreams are coming true, My dream is coming true
This is exactly what i saw and what i was actually scared for, it’s happening already.
No, I can’t let it come to pass, i…i need to stop this, i need to stop this.
” si..sister, is betty really d..deeead?” our youngest Anna asked crying profusely.
” I’m so sorry, i’m so sorry….it’s my fault, i shouldn’t have provoked him” i said.
” It’s not your fault Evelyn…..He didn’t make any easy for any of us” Sarah said.
” What do we do Now?…..we don’t have anywhere to go” Sophie said.
” We don’t have any choice we have to keep running so we can survive today” Sarah said.
” But we can’t keep running forever…..we need to find a way to get out of this island” Eva said.
” Exactly, we need to survive today so tomorrow the Port management will be available” Sarah said.
I watched and listened as they keep arguing but i have means to keep them safe.
” Evelyn, what do you say on this?…..we need to do something very fast” sarah asked facing me.
” You’re right and i know what to do” i said.
” What do you intent to do?” she asked.
” Sarah, i need you to do something for me” i said.
” Take the girls and hide somewhere safe and wait till nightfall before coming” i instructed.
” wait, wait, wait…..what are you talking about?, what about you?” she asked.
” I’m not coming with you, I’ve lost one sister already….i’m not going to let that happen again” I said.
” So what?, you’re just going after him alone…”
“…….he killed dad and mom, do you really think you stand a chance?” she said.
” Well i have to, i can’t just stay and do nothing…..i’ll try to buy you some time” i said.
” please sister, pleease don’t, don’t go…please” Anna begged embracing me.
” don’t go sister, i’m afraid he will something bad to you as well” Sophie said.
” we need to stick together for now……let’s stay together” sarah said.
” He will keep coming at us” i said.
” And we will keep running” sarah replied immediately.
” We can’t run forever, especially not in this lonely island” i said.
” Then we will do we need to do to survive” she said.
” alright, let’s go” i said then we started running through the woods.

{AN HOUR LATER}

After running for almost an hour without having a certain certain destination, we stopped to rest for a moment.
I don’t know what to do in this moment, my sisters are looking up to me for a solution unknown that I really don’t have one.
I’m clueless and it’s making me go crazy….. it’s very disturbing.
It’s obvious in their eyes that they are too tired, I’m not sure they will be ready to run in the next two hours.
They must be very thirsty and hungry as well but no one could request for that in this situation.
Why did we end up in this kind of situation?
Why did this happen to us?
What is our offense?.
I looked at my younger siblings and tears dropped from my eyes, they don’t deserve this.
None of them does……They are innocent in all of this, they are too young to be in this situation.
They are too young to be in a situation whereby they have to run and hide to survive, being hunted by the monster we call our brother.
If we need to keep running we have to be strong and to be strong we need to fill our belly first.
On our way here I think I saw a mango tree just a few steps away from our recent position, I stood up.
” Sister, where are you going?” Emma asked as she saw me which draw others attention to me.
” It’s okay girls….. I’m not going that far…. I’m going to get us something to eat” I said.
” Let’s go together” Sophie said.
” No….we all can’t keep moving together, stay here I will be back soon” I said.
” Alright then…. I’ll go with you” Sarah insisted.
” Sarah, we can’t go together…..you have to stay here for them” I said.
” Don’t do anything Evelyn,…..please don’t” Sarah said.
” I’m not going anywhere, I’ll be back….okay” I said.
” Be careful” Anna said.
” I will” I replied then went back to the direction we came from.
I was looking around for the tree and I s₱0tted it not very far and I went to it.
I was very careful looking around to make sure Destry is not anywhere near.
I got to the tree then started ploughing the nearest fruit to the ground and after I’ve ploughed enough I stopped.
I pulled off my shirt leaving me alone with my singlet, I gathered the fruit in my shirt and head back to my sisters.
I got back to them and they heaved a sigh of relief when they saw me which means they might be worried.
” For a minute out there I was scared something had happened” Sarah said.
” I told you I’ll be back” I replied.
” See what I got” I said showing them the mango fruit.
” Mango?” Sophie said discontented.
” I’m sorry but it’s the only thing I can find…..we just have to manage it” I said.
” It’s okay, it’s not like we have a choice” Sophie said and each of them take it one after the order.
We ate the mango which gives us enough strength and also quench the hunger that is rousing.
We ate to our fill and rested for a while more then I stood up.
” Get up girls…..We need to go…… we’ve rested enough” I said and they stood up as well.
” Don’t tell me you guys are leaving *without me” I heard and my heart skipped turning to see Destry with* evil grin plastered to his face.
” No..No..no” I said moving backwards with my sisters beside me.
” This is the best family vacation I’ve ever been……. it’s been fun all through, it’s like an adventure” he said.
” Destry…..why are you doing this?……What have we done to deserve this?” I asked.
” I don’t know, I guess I just enjoy doing this……anytime I do something like this, I feel unique all over my body”
” You won’t understand cause the feeling is Divine……. it’s so fun and the better part is that I don’t think I want to stop”
” I feel like doing this forever…..for all eternity” he said smiling.
” You will kill your own family for your enjoyment, what kind of monster are you?” I said.
” I think that’s what makes it thrilling, to see the innocent look on their face, the pity look on their face”
” The surprised look on their face as to realise their brother is about to kill them just like the one I saw on poor Betty” He said.
” You’re a monster…… you’re not supposed to be alive” I said.
” Well, I’m grateful to our mother for that…..I didn’t want to kill her but she’s being bad just like you” he said.
” Sarah, take the girls and go…….Run” I said to sarah.
” You better do as she said…… I think that’s what your mother said as well” Destry said laughing.
” No sister, We are not leaving you” Sarah said.
” This is no debate Sarah, Go Now………GO” I said and they ran away.
” SISTER” Anna shouted and I waved at them till they are out of sight.
” Awwwnn…… that’s so touching, so motherly of you” Destry mimicked.
” Why can’t you just let us go?…..we will never offend you again…..we will go far away from you” I said.
” Nice offer but I can’t do that” he said.
” What do you wish to gain from this?” I asked.
” You’re not paying attention to all I’ve been saying……I said Fun…. infact I prefer it more than food” he said.
” I’m not letting you hurt any of my sisters” I said picking up a stick on the ground.
” I don’t think you have a choice” he said drawing closer then I hit him on the head with the stick.
I was surprised when the stick crushed into pieces without having any effect on him then his eyes changed.
” You’re Bad, you’re very bad and I hate you” he said.
Then his blue eyes shines bright then he showed his monstrous teeth and jumped on me.
