Chapter six
“Are you okay Kelly”? Charlie opened the door but the man was gone.
“Charlie”. I hugged him.
“It’s okay. I’m here”.
“I’m scared”. I cried.
I was at Charlie room. It was so neat that I couldn’t figure out a dust. Well, he has always been the neat type.
“You were scre-ming. Is everything okay”?
“I thought I saw someone but it was just my imagination”.
“Maybe you were hallucinating”.
“Maybe but I’m scared Charlie”.
“Everything will be fine. Just get some rest”. He laid me on the bed.
“What about you”?
“Still have some work to do. Good night”.
“Night”. I closed my eyes and sleep took over me.
It was sport time. I was in my sport clothes. Just then, Belle came forward.
“You’re really gonna hit them this time”. She offered me a bottle of water.
“You think so”. I drank. “I’ve no idea on how to play table tennis
“Don’t worry. I’m here to cheer you up”.
“You knew that won’t work”.
“It might this time”. The bell for the game to began rang.
“Wish me luck”. I gave her the bottle and left.
“You’re gonna do better”! She shouted.
“Sure”! I shouted back and smiled. It wasn’t an easy game. I was paired up with Gwen. She’d been the school best player. I don’t even think I can win her. Before I knew it, she’d scored two.
“You can do it Kelly”. Belle shouted from the crowd.
“Come on girl. Do your best”. Gwen passed me the egg.
“Phew. I’m just being easy on you”.
“Really? Then watch this”. She’d won. Of course everyone expect her to. I left.
“You okay”? It was Belle.
“Okay? I wouldn’t be after all that. Why would they pair me up with Gwen. She’s a star and everyone admire her”.
“Well, I’ve no idea about that but you did great out there”.
“Kinda. Maybe it’s because I’m tired. That’s why I didn’t win”.
“You told me you were strong as rock this morning”.
“I…… I’ve to get dressed”.
“There’s no need to make some excuses Kelly. I think you were great out there and I know you can do more than that”.
“Fine. You caught me”. I pulled off my clothes.
“What’s that”?
“What”? I looked at her. She was starring at my hand. “Oh this. I fell”.
“You fell”?
“Actually, I was hallucinating. I thought I saw someone so I shrieked and fell. My head’s weren’t clear then”.
“I’ve a cure for hallucinating”.
“What”?
“This”. She gave me a knock.
“Ouch”. I rub my head.
“Sorry”. She laughed.
“You think that was funny”?
“Are you mad at me”?
“Just forget it”. I put on my uniform and gave her my sport dress. “Tell them I quit”.
“What? You know you can’t quit. You just signed in”.
“And I’m signing out. Just talk to them. I’ll leave it up to you”.
“Me? You know I can’t do it Kelly. What am I supposed to say”?
“You’re the idea girl Belle”. I put on my shoes. “Meet me at the library”.
“Kelly”. I left.
I was at the library. I sighted Harrell and Maggie. Seems like they were talking.
“Well, that’s not my problem”. I sat.
“Hey”. I looked up. It was a boy.
“Err……how may I help you”?
“Actually, I’m having a problem solving this Math”. He showed it to me. So he’s a senior.
“I’m sorry but I haven’t been taught”.
“That’s bad”.
“You can ask other person”. He stared at me.
“You don’t remember me”?
“I…..No”. Suddenly, the light start flickering and the alarm start to ring.
“It’s a fire outbreak”. A girl shouted. The speaker was on.
“Attention everyone. There’s is a fire outbreak in the school. So everyone march out. I repeat, everyone march out”.
“What’s happening”? I got up.
“Smoke”. Smoke was filling everywhere.
“Let’s go”. I ran but I noticed he was following me. I turned to look at him. He was seated smiling at me. “Are you crazy? Run”.
“Actually, I’ve something to do”.
“You must be crazy. Fine. I don’t care. Die if you like”. I ran. I felt like crying as I got out.
“Kelly”
“Belle”. I hugged her. “Are you okay”.
“Hmmm”. She nodded.
“We need to get the firefighter. There’s someone in,side. We need to save him”.
“What’re you talking about”?
“He’s dying”! I took out my phone intending to call then. Just then, I saw their bus coming. “Oh goodness”. I rushed towards them. “There’s someone in,side. Please save him”.
“Sure”. They went in,side.
Luckily, he was saved but he’d breath in much of the smoke so he’s in coma right now. The school was locked. I wasn’t even allow to carry my bag. I got home feeling tired. Mom wasn’t around. With Harrell Mom perhaps. I went in,side my room and brought out my diary. I hadn’t written anything in,side it. I think it’s time to. Then I heard a creak under my bed. Someone’s here. I sat and listen. The creak went on. Maybe it’s a mouse.
“Ouch”. I turned. This was no mouse. It was someone.
“Who’re you”? I got up ready to make a run for the door.
“Almost”. He gro-n. “Yeah”. He got out under the bed. “Hello”. It was the boy from earlier.
“You……how did you get in here”? I pointed at him.
“I’ve my ways”.
“What’re you doing here? Shouldn’t you be at the hospital? Are you fully healed”?
“I’ve my ways”.
“Wait a minute. This makes no sense. I locked the door”.
“I’ve my ways”.
“Just who the hell are you”?
“My name’s Bayern”.
“How did you get in here”?
“I told you I’ve my ways”.
“I’m gonna call the cops”.
“No wait. I….”.
“Go on”.
“I came in through the window”.
“You were sneaking up on me”.
“Trust me. I would never do that”.
“Why would I trust you. I’m gonna call the cops”.
“Don’t please. I beg you”.
“Then can you explain why you’re here”?
“I…… Err…… To see you. I came to see you”.
“To see me. Why would you”?
“Err…..the Math”.
“Seriously”. I dial.
“No”. Suddenly, my phone was flung away from my hand.
“What just happened”?
“I can explain. I____”.
“You’re a socerer”. I cried. “Mom”. I made for the door but everywhere had changed. I was in a field. I turned to look at him. “Take me back”.
“I can explain”. He moved closer to me.
“Don’t move”. He didn’t stop. “I said don’t”! What I saw next was him being flung away into the air. I’d no choice but to run.
“Princess”. I heard him call but I wouldn’t dare to stop.
