I watched the nurses carry mom away, she had fallen into a coma, tears were streaming down Jason’s face but I was just so paralyzed with shock to do anything
My sister is alive
She is someone I know so well
Her name is E
If not for the fact that my cousin Emerald bears a striking resemblance with her mother, I would have said she is my sister
And moreover my sister’s name doesn’t start with an E, her name was Viktoria and just like me, she’s extremely fair in complexion
The E also triggered the feelings I was trying so hærd to supress, Erica, I gave up on my dreams just to make sure her fingers remains intact but ..she ended up hating me
That was when the tears trickled down my face, she hates me so why can’t I stop loving her, why can’t I just stop thinking about her
” your mom is going to be okay, although you need to prepare for the worst, cases like this are very very delicate, some people spend years in coma, some people never wake up…
The doctor said to I and Jason
Dad sent a driver to pick us home, mom would be flown out of the country tomorrow and I would be going with her, I was too sad to form a word

” Monica we’re doomed, there is fire on the mountain ”
Emerald said as she dashed into Monica’s room , even though Monica doesn’t like anyone invading her privacy, the girls couldn’t stop themselves
Monica looked —irritated —annoyed —pissed ” I’m about to sleep and if you don’t have anything important to say and you’re just wasting my time..
” Monica, Erica is no longer in the hospital, that Indian girl took her away, Mrs Peterson is in a coma, all our plans, everything is ruined, those girls are going to take thier revenge, with the way those girls danced the other day, we wouldn’t stand a chance ”
Emerald said with fright, and for the first time, she saw fear in Monica’s eyes.
Monica willed herself to calm down, although she was damn frightened, those girls will surely exact their revenge, she thought long and hærd before coming to a conclusion
” when is the next competition? ”
She asked even though she already knows when it is
” it’s in five days time ” Aminat said, she knew if those girls would want to deal with anybody, it would be her and Monica
” I think I have an idea ”
” well what’s the idea? ”
” since the competition is in five days time, if we can shift the competition to two days time then everything will be resolved, coupled with what the girls have been through lately, I’m sure they wouldn’t have time for practice and instead of them planning a revenge against us, they’ll spend those two days working on a dance and they’ll end up performing badly”
” that sounds cool but how can we possibly shift the competition to two days time ” Niniola asked
” it’s our school’s competition so we can do anything, do you think the school’s management will allow us to fail, don’t you know it’s a huge disgrace if an outsider ends up winning our school’s competition ”
Monica said calmly, all she need to do was to make a call to her father, her father would influence everything and compensate everyone for the inconveniences.
Then she would do everything possible to make sure those girls ends up losing
Emerald knew she wouldn’t be able to participate in the competition in two days time, with each passing day, her immune system was getting weaker and weaker, if they all knew the secret she had always been trying to hide, they would treat her the same way Aminat treats her, like a plague
She wonders If her best friend Niniola would be so comfortable placing her hand around her shoulders like she was doing.
Suddenly it didn’t feel worth it, all thier schemes, she had even hurt her cousin in the process. And at the end of the day she still wouldn’t be able to participate in the competition

this is to inform that there has been a change in the date of the competitions
Instead of the scheduled date ( 15th of this month), we have decided to change the date because of an emergency
The dance competition will now be held on the 12th of this month
And the competition will be concluded on that same day

It came as a shock to Sasha, Erica, Tori and Shanaya when they heard that the competition has been shifted to two days time, they were still planning a revenge on the mean girls and the change in the date was like a huge blow on their faces
Even Shanaya was shocked
” with the look of things, we only have two options, revenge or the competition?”

” our revenge can not be complete without the competition and if I must confess our dancing skills have improved greatly, the best way to get our revenge is to win this competition ”
Erica said, her eyes contained a dark gleam, this same gleam was also in Shanaya’s eyes
Shanaya didn’t know why, she had always sensed this danger but now she could sense it strongly, the danger wasn’t so far away, it was near and this danger was targeted at her, as long as the danger would come after the competition, she was fine with it because she had to fulfill her promise

Erica began and Sasha squeezed her shoulders tenderly, just like Erica, she too had gone to the Peterson’s house only to be informed that no one was allowed to see Viktor Peterson, although she was still going to see him one last time before giving up.

Erica understood Sasha because even after the hurt and the hatred she feels for Viktor Peterson, she still couldn’t stop loving him

Tori confessed in a rush, her chubby cheeks burned with mortification
Erica smiled warmly, even though she and Sasha were hurt and heartbroken, at least one of them was happy

Sasha said, hoping it wasnt one of the guys she had slept with in the school
” Huh his name is Mark, Mark Davidson , he’s a commercial student ”

The name doesn’t ring a bell, Sasha exhaled in relief
” wow that’s really a huge change, you’re not worried he’ll think you’re fat or ugly ”
Erica taunted hoping to get a reaction out of Tori but to her surprise she got none, only a chuckle, Tori had really changed, right from the day the mean girls had visited her house, Tori had changed from the insecure and clumsy girl
” I’ve been on a strict diet, I’ve been exercising, and I’ve been taking some natural remedies ”
Tori said
That was when the girls really looked at Tori, although the changes weren’t much, it was there, Tori was gradually losing weight
” I don’t want you to get slim, seriously I love your chubbiness ”
Erica said and Tori pinched her playfully

Mr Harry Gates went to State High school but he couldn’t find the Indian girl.
That was because the girls didn’t even go to school, they were all at Sasha’s house, Sasha had hired a dance instructor.
” Sasha, your moves are wrong, what’s wrong with you, are you sure you’re alright, just emulate Erica, her moves are perfect, I don’t know how talented the other girls are but i believe you actually guys stand a chance of winning ”
Sasha nodded but she had been so absentminded, she still finds it so hærd to believe, tomorrow the dream girl will be announced, even though she had lost the person she loves the most in this world because of the competition, she consoled herself with the fact that she had been able to mend her friendsh¡p with Erica
And whatever happens tomorrow, she would make sure Erica becomes the dream girl.

Mrs Sharon Micheals watched her daughter enter into the hours with tears, the doctors have advised Emerald to stop dancing, Emerald was HIV positive, she had contacted it when she was fourteen
She saw the message from her sister’s husband and no matter how hærd she tried to stop the tears, they still trickled
down her face
” the boy is going to the UK tomorrow, he’s going to be a great doctor, remember your promise and dont try to stop us”
The boy was no one else than her Viktor
They grew up poor,
Even when they were young, her sister, Amelia had always been a dream killer
She had killed her dream with just a word
” Sharon, try to be realistic, there’s no way you can become an actress, with our level of poverty, you should just go and be selling something at a garage and besides I heard that all the female actresses often sleep with different men before becoming successful ”
And she had stupidly believed her sister, while she had been selling food at a garage, her sister was dating a rich guy, Fred Peterson, Fred had sponsored her sister’s education till she graduated
Sharon too found luck, except that luck didn’t last for long, she got married to a stinkingly rich man, Harry Gates , she didn’t know the kind of job he does nor did she know any of his family, she had two children with him, Viktor and Viktoria, Viktor was five and Viktoria was two when her husband went missing.
She was shattered, no matter how hærd she tried she couldn’t find him, she spent all her money to hire private investigators to find him but it was all unfruitful, she later heard that her husband was dead.
Penniless, distraught and grief stricken, she had went to her sister, Amelia (who had gotten married to Fred Peterson at that time) for help but her sister had turned her down coldly
She was mentally unstable, left with no choice but to place her children up for adoption
A year later she found out that her sister had actually adopted her son, she went back to her sister and this time around Amelia agreed to help, on one condition, she must not interfere with whatever she wishes to do with Viktor , her sister assisted her financially and she went back to adopt her own daughter Viktoria.
She changed Viktoria’s name to Emerald and for ten years she stayed away from her sister because Amelia didn’t want the two children to know they are related.
She sold her son just to be able to take care of her daughter, and Mrs Peterson had always assisted Emerald in every way
But she didn’t just sell the boy, she sold his dream too
She sold the little boy that was already creating beautiful paintings with watercolor at the age of five
She had felt like crying at her sister’s birthday party, Viktor had made a beautiful portrait of her sister but she had watched her sister kill her son’s dream
” Mark, dispose this portrait, go to Viktor’s room, any painting materials you see there, burn it ”
She had seen the hurt look on her son’s face but she couldnt say anything.
And now her life was a mess
Tomorrow, Viktor would go to the UK, he would have to forfeit his dream, he would spend years studying a course that he has no interest in and he would spend the rest of his life miserable and
She must not stop him
There was only one person that could stop him
The only girl that truly loves her son

Tomorrow was the competition and she must speak to Erica tomorrow
Erica must stop her son from traveling tomorrow if she truly loves her son, she would forfeit the competition for him.
