Sundays!
That’s the only day that makes me dress like a girl.
I take off my long yellow gown and fold it.
I select other clothes, I decide to wear jeans, my mom really injured me yesterday.
There are marks on my arms and the mark on my neck is very much still there.
The marks on my neck only convinced my mom that I had gotten into a fight.
It was only when dad came home and I explained everything to him that was when he apologized on mom’s behalf.
But the damage has already been done.
I select a long sleeve turtle neck top and wear it on my jeans.
This is more my style
Always dressed for trouble
I pick up my hand bag, I miss my phone like crazy.
I go to the living room to say goodbye to mom and Juliet
” sister Erica please buy something for me when you’re coming back ”
Juliet said, making adorable face at me
Does it look like I’m going to shop rite 🙄🙄
I don’t want to be nagged constantly so I promise her that I would
” don’t stay long and when you’re coming back make sure you buy some pain relief medicine, at least you decided to wear a long sleeve top, the scars on your body is just too disgusting ”
My mom snorted
I know that if I opened my mouth to talk, it’s only insults that’s going to come out.
Who put those disgusting scars there!
Is it not her!!
And why in God’s name does she find it so hærd to apologize to me!!!

If only I had been fast enough, I would have been the one to give Erica that shoes on Friday afternoon.
The thought 💭 stayed rooted in my mind no matter how much I try to stop thinking about it.
I had seen that stupid Viktor from a distance, giving the shoes to her and smiling like the very devil that he is.
It was ironic, a week ago I wouldn’t have intEr×¢ted with anyone in school until Erica came along with her crazy attitude and I find out that I like her.
My mom’s arrival from church brings me out of my reverie
” um Daniel, sorry Keith, didn’t you go to church ”
She said as she drops her bag on the living room chair
,” I did, we closed early, where is Daniel”
I decide to ask because she went to church with my little brother and it’s only expected that she returns with him
Her eyes snapped in alarm
” oh my God, I forgot…..
What the hell!
If I’m to recall, mom has been forgetting stuffs recently, it’s either I come back from school and she would have forgotten to cook, or she’ll just start asking about her father that had died years ago
I would have said that she is having a memory lapse but she never forgets to go to work
” mom, how can you forget a human being, your own son! I’m sure you were busy chatting with your friends that you forgot him!!!!! ”
If my words sounded harsh, I didn’t care
I’m so worried about Daniel
For Christ sake! He is only four years old!!
And mom’s church is very far.
What if he has been trying to come home by himself and someone kidnaps him…
” how could you!!! How could you forget your own son!!!! ”
” Keith, it’s not what you think I…
she tries to hold me by the arm, I flinch and barge out of the house in search of my little brother

Mrs Merrick heard the loud slam of the door and she flinched, after hearing Keith’s receding footsteps did she let out all her sorrow.
She didn’t need to be strong anymore , she could cry because she wanted to, and so she cried, letting the hot salty tears trickle down her face
She wished to tell Keith the wh0le truth.
Keith’s father was a notorious wife beater, a drunkard and an alcoholic, even when he abuse and molested her, she still hold on to him, believing that he would change.
Keith came home one day, he was still in junior high, his eyes were swollen, she had been frantic with alarm
” Mom, is it true, am I like daddy, am I going to end up…. like him ”
He said admist sobs
” of course not, who said that to you ”
He didn’t answer, no matter how hærd she tried to reason with him, he never listened
And after that her little boy changed
Keith… Keith ..changed
He went from ‘happy go lucky’ to sad and withdrawn in a single day
She watched him distance himself from friends, blocking everybody away with cold treatment.
She couldn’t reach out to him anymore, a month after that she divorced his father after he almost killed her, she figured out she owe it to her son to stay alive.
Keith’s father ( Adam Merrick) didn’t take the divorce well, he threatened to take Keith with him, always stalking her with scary anonymous messages and she had lived in constant fear that one day he is going to come for her son
And five years ago, she had made a great mistake, she wanted to let go of the pain, she wanted to forget her sorrow for a single day so she went to a bar and had drunk to stupor, a hooligan and taken advantage of her in her drunken state, he raped her and she became pregnant.
Keith was acting cold to her before but when he heard of the pregnancy he became
bitter, angry and most especially hurt.
He called her an irresponsible mother and every bad name in the book, when she gave
birth to Daniel, she expected him to hate him too but he didn’t.
He loved the little boy even if he rarely shows it.
She thought her son will never forgive her until recently when she saw her son gradually come out of his shell, he became more humane, he talks more and smiles more.
So how could she possibly hurt him now with this tragic news

She owes it to her two sons to continue with the facade, to continue with her pretense even if it’s just for a few days
They deserve to have a few more good memories.

I fell in love with Tori’s cozy little house immediately, it was beautiful in its own way but most importantly it was full of love.
Tori’s mom is a pretty woman with a kind smile, Immediately I saw her I found out where Tori got her chubbiness from.
Shanaya looked more sad today and they were dark circles under her eyes, I can’t understand how I can be worried about someone and damn scared of such person at the same time.
But that’s exactly how I feel about Shanaya!
Her Indian robes are bright and colorful but her eyes were dull and lifeless.
I was surprised that Shanaya knows more about biology than all of us put together, she helped us with the practicals and we only added a few ideas, except Sasha who had absolutely nothing to contribute.
I take a sip of the orange juice that Tori’s mom gave to us and chew some biscuits, we all ate in silence, I guess I wouldn’t have believed the four of us getting along with each other in harmony if it wasn’t happening right now.
” Tori! I’m home, won’t you give daddy a hug! ”
A masculine voice booms from the door way, and as the man came into view I couldn’t contain my shock.
This man!
God please tell me this man isn’t Tori’s dad!
This useless man that gave me a lift on Friday, the man that assaulted me!
My worst fears were confirmed when Tori ran to hug him
” daddy! I missed you!! ”
She squeals excitedly
The man’s eyes fell on me and his jaw dropped open
We continue staring at each other until everyone noticed the awkward tension.
” do you guys know each other, what’s happening, someone should talk ”
Tori’s mom asks
As much as I loathe this man I can’t.. I can’t blow his trumpet
But someone else wasn’t having the same thoughts with me, i could see purple veins slowly cover his neck and he gasps for air .
And I know that it’s Shanaya’s doing
His body trembles convulsively and he shakes uncontrollably
Everyone was thrown into a panic
I decided to be brave, even though I was trembling inwardly
I walk over to Shanaya and place a warm hand on her shoulder, she flinched at first but I feel her wh0le body relax and her eyes went back to normal.
Tori’s dad stops shaking and the purple veins disappears from his neck.
Tori’s mom called it a seizure but I know it isn’t and as Sasha looks at me, I know she does too

What the hell happened to dad!
I’m going crazy, or did I just imagine the scared look on dad’s face when he saw Erica
I thought as I decide to esc-rt Sasha, Shanaya and Erica out of our estate.
I hear a giggling sound and I don’t need to look before I know who it is
” wow, here comes the fat pumpkin and her crew of losers ”
Chloe said and Jessica added her own giggles to it
I’m not emotionally ready to face them but someone else wasn’t thinking the same way with me
” can you please repeat what you just said”
Erica said, I can tell that she’s getting angry from the wild gleam in her eyes
I just hope this two girls will keep thier mouth shut
” Chloe, Jessica please just keep quiet, ”
I warn them but they didn’t listen
” why would I be scared of someone wearing cheap clothes like her”
Jessica said and they rounded it off with a giggle
” fat ugly pumpkin, you look extra ugly tonight ”
Chloe added
” you’re free to insult her, I don’t give a damn, but that part when you said ‘ crew of losers is what I’m going to punish you for ”
Sasha said furiously
Erica rolled up her sleeves
This is not going to end well.

How dare this two stupid girls make fun of Tori or even insult her.
Or could they be the reason behind Tori’s swollen eyes yesterday.
I guess Tori warned them but they weren’t wise enough to listen
In my own way of thinking, there’s only one way to solve a problem
I slowly roll up the sleeves of my top
The scars on my skin only adds to my anger
Let’s do this the Erica style!
