I’m finally going back to school, I can’t believe I k-ssed Viktor yesterday, oh my God!
Why can’t I get it out of my head, Viktor had been so shocked and I apologized awkwardly but he told me not to, since I am his girlfriend anyway and he just needed my approval to make it official, he left me there with my mouth hanging in shock
I can’t believe that I had once said I hate Viktor, the guy is arrogant!! That’s what I used to tell myself but now…. Now! I’m suddenly developing a change of my thoughts about him.
I paid the bike man and enter the school, I didn’t even notice a girl, hanging her head low as she cleared the weed
” hey! Erica! You’re back!! ”
I turn around to see Jayne Eji
” hey! Jayne, it’s been such a long time ”
I and Jayne chatted all the way to the class
” wow! Erica seriously you’re so lucky, I had no idea that Mr Dipo likes you so much, you need to see the way he was sooooo angry when he said that nobody must suspend you in this school ”

Wow! So Brownie was that girl I saw outside, the anger came rushing back, how I trusted her and she betrayed me

Jayne said when she sees the shocked expression on my face
I was so tempted to tell her everything, I really hate that man, how could he try to frame me!! If there’s anyone that has anything to hide it’s him
But the image of Tori’s mom forms in my mind, such a kind and loving woman, she doesn’t deserve such an adulterous husband but family matters is something I’ve learned never to put my mouth into
The people I was expecting to stand up for me where the ones that dissapointed me, I had no idea that my few good deeds was still going to help me today.
” I don’t know him ” I said
” well then how did he possibly come to tell lies against you”
Jayne said, unwilling to let go of the topic
I shrugged
” okay I actually know him but he did something worthy of insult and I insulted him ”
” hmm let me guess 🤔 he toasted you right? ” Jayne said
I figured there’s no way I could get out of this one
” yeah he did ” I said
” then it’s thunder that will kill him!! But Erica, that guy really likes you oh! You need to see the way he ran into the office to tell Mrs Oke about the wound on Sasha’s face, if not for him, Sasha wouldn’t have been exposed ”
I could feel my cheeks heating up when Jayne said he really likes me, I couldn’t help blushing
” yeah, he’s kind of like my hero
” wow I had no idea that you guys are dating!”
How am I going to explain our stupid deal
” actually we’re not um it’s kinda complicated but do you like him, I mean would you like it if I date someone like him ”
” of course! That guy is perfect for you!!”

I had no idea that Jayne would even agree that I should date Viktor, I mean she is the school’s information portal, she knows so much about everyone in the school and her blunt approval only clears away any doubt I might have had about Viktor.
Tori and Shanaya started walking towards me, Tori hangs back warily while Shanaya ran to hug me.

Shanaya is not really an expressive person and I became surprised by her exuberance and happiness to see me
She folds a slip of paper into my hand and I open it to find a hand written greeting card, it was designed with different pen’s
The words were however short and simple

I couldn’t stop smiling as I ruffled her long black hair, something had felt weird when Viktor told me about Sasha’s magic wound, I wonder if Shanaya is responsible for it, but there’s no way I can find out
Some things would always remain a mystery I guess
Tori’s eyes were sad, she was about to turn back but she shakes her head and the next thing I knew, she was throwing her arms around me
” I’m so sorry for not believing you Erica, I’m so sorry, dad told me something bad about you and I… I ..i got cc. ..C..onfused ”

I can’t really blame a child for the sins of its father and if there’s anyone that has always been so good to me, it’s Tori, I’m not going to let that useless man drive a wedge between us.

I feel so scared when Erica walked into the school, I just have to bend my head lower as I’m clearing the grass.
But it’s not like I can hide from her forever
Sooner or later, I’ll have to join them in the class.
I keep on checking over my shoulder, expecting a hot slap every minute as I copy my notes in class.
But Erica didn’t even look at me, she Tori and Shanaya were just laughing at whatever they were saying and I feel left out.
I miss all the fun we had together and I know I have no one to blame for it but myself.
Immediately the bell rings for the closing time, Erica stands up from her seat, my heart started beating fast, I think she was coming to me but she just heads to the direction of the sports field.
I calmed down my wildly beating heart, it’s closing time again, it’s time to pick up my equipments and start clearing the field

He said hesitantly
Keith has been looking at me in a kind of way in class today, as if he was expecting him to tell him something, I don’t really understand what he even means by the full story

I said before going to the field

I didn’t even listen to the rest of his words
The only thing my mind could register is that Erica is his girlfriend, he is dating Erica!
