” Shania noooooooo!! ”
I raced to him and saw that he had even fainted from shock before Shanaya could do anything to him, Shanaya growls and I could tell that she wanted to kill him.
” Shania pleeeaseee don’t hurt him!!! ”
I said as I tried to shake Viktor, hoping he would wake up, I tried to check if he’s still breathing but Shanaya pushes me away with so much force that I land flat on my back, I hear a cracking sound, God please don’t tell me it’s my spinal cord
Shanaya stares at Viktor wordlessly, her eyes turning darker and darker, she lifted up his head and brought her nails to the exposed part of his neck.
That was when I began to panic , I tried to stand up but the pain wouldn’t allow it, her nails almost entered his neck and I started scre-ming , Viktor might be a jerk but I don’t want him to die.
Shanaya please don’t kill him!
Her nails digs deeper into his skin and I closed my eyes, too afraid to watch.
It seems my scre-ms must have gotten to Shanaya, I heard footsteps and I opened my eyes, she was retreating, slowly
Shanaya! Thank God you didn’t kill him, she pulled me up to my feet and I staggered backwards, her eyes were clouded but as I touched her arm, the darkness was clearing away from her face, ” Shanaya why!!!”
It wasn’t like I was expecting Shanaya to give me a reply
She touches my leg and the pain mysteriously disappears.
Viktor was still lying unconscious on the floor and my panic increased, the sounds of footsteps were heard and a group of boys strolled into the class
” where is this Viktor ! ”
A guy said and his eyes w¡dens in shock when he saw Viktor lying immobile on the floor
.” ah what happened to him!! ”
The guy said, he is one of the twins, although I don’t know which one, he signalled to his other twin
” Quinton help! I don’t know what happened to Viktor, let’s call his dad, so someone could send an ambulance from the hospital ”
I was surprised when Quinton scoffs, ” it’s time for training and I can’t afford to miss it, if you don’t have airtime , take my phone, call him ”
He handed him the phone and lead the rest of the guys to the training field.
I couldn’t understand Quinton’s attitude, even Quentin was shocked,
I touched Viktor’s cheek, it was cold, I checked his pulse, he is breathing and his breathing is normal
” Shanaya please help me, please I don’t want him to die ”
Shanaya and Quentin were about to carry him when Jayne Eji entered the class and I could see the condemnation and disgust in her eyes as she looked at me
” Erica why? I thought….i thought……you were going to date him… how….how could you be doing this in his absence….”
She showed me the picture on her phone, I and Viktor, k-ssing each other.
So the bastard posted it?
But Jayne approved it that I should date Viktor, she said he is perfect for me, I don’t understand what she’s saying.
” couldn’t you control yourself if you have a crush on him,…. I’ll admit it, almost all the girls have a crush on him…even me… But how could you do this in Keith’s absence… You said he was your Hero…. ”
” I don’t understand you Jayne, you said I should date Viktor, you said he is perfect for me, you said he really likes me!!!! ”
I blurted out in frustration
” I didn’t say anything like that!!! I was talking about Keith”
” Keith? But Viktor was the one that helped me, he exposed Sasha Grey! ”
Everyone looked at me in confusion
” Viktor? No it’s Keith ” Jayne said
” but Viktor told me he helped me ”
I said pointing at the unconscious Viktor
” no! It’s obvious that he lied to you, everyone in school knows that Keith helped you, right Quentin? ”
Quentin nodded his head in approval.
I was standing on my two feet but it feels like I had lost my balance, my head was swirling with thoughts, I didn’t even realize when Viktor was carried out of the school , I located a chair and sat down, Viktor lied to me! Keith is my hero and not Viktor!!
It was too much for me to digest
” oh babe, I’m sorry I thought you knew”
Jayne said, her eyes were filled with pity
” dammit! I didn’t know!! I… I… Thought… I… Thought…. I… Thought..
I couldn’t make up the words and my fingers shook with rage
Viktor had told me a lie!
A lie that changed my misconceptions about him, a lie.. that changed my wh0le life.

I said as I clenched my hand into fists

The housekeeper was all I needed to get my life back on track, but it was still a puzzle to me, which of the Grey’s had sent the housekeeper, there was also an anonymous credit alert containing a huge amount of money and I have the feeling that it’s somehow linked to the Grey’s.
The money would cover the expenses of mom’s therapy, I would go back to school, yeah! I would go back to school and watch Erica and Viktor going all lovey dovey

I’m not an ungrateful person which is why I came to the Grey’s house to thank whosoever had helped me but I’m desperately hoping it’s not Sasha, I don’t want to be indebted to her.
Even after all these years, I’m surprised that the gatekeeper let me in without qualms, I entered the house, my eyes taking in the renovated house, I knocked on the living room door and it was opened by Sasha’s little sister Cara, I didn’t know how much I’ve missed seeing little Cara, I was a kind of big brother to her.
” how are you Cara!”
“I’m fine um why are you here, you don’t usually come to our house anymore ”
She said and I could hear the accusation in her voice.
“I’m sorry Cara,I’m here to see your parents, are they in,side the house ”
” nope, mom and dad aren’t back from London ”
I could feel the hærd truth sinking in, I still didn’t want to believe it, they could have contacted thier butler and made the transaction from wherever they are.
Sasha must have heard voices in the living room because I heard approaching footsteps, she walked into the living room, I could tell that she’s just got back from school because almost three of her front button was undone, her long brown hair was twisted into a ponytail, she looked different, beautiful but there was still this intense hatred that I feel even as I look at her.
“uh Keith you’re here ”
She muttered awkwardly
Little Cara winked conspiratorially at me and dashed into the house.
I and Sasha stated at each other awkwardly and I broke the silence
” about the housekeeper, did you tell your parents about my mom”
” no I didn’t, I know you hate me Keith but
I couldn’t let you keep living like that, I had to help ”
He couldn’t understand why she did it, was this another scheme!
” why did you do it Sasha ”
She looked up and stared at me, her huge brown eyes reflected hurt, pain and anguish
” I told you already, you shouldn’t keep on living like that, I know you probably think I’m scheming but I’m not, I’ve never schemed against you, I realized that trying to plead for forgiveness for a crime I didn’t commit isn’t helping me, I needed to move on and I’d like it if you move on too, I sent the money, I saw the groceries you had in the kitchen, they were lesser, move on with your life Keith… ”
A single tear slid down her cheeks and she wiped it impatiently, she was about to walk into the house when I held her by the arm, she stared at me in surprise
My thoughts travelled back, I remembered the memories, memories of I and Sasha.
Even at a tender age, I was quiet, I hated my life, I hated the fact that my dad was a useless alcoholic that beats mom up at any slight opportunity, my life was like a bed of thorns, except there was a single lily in it.
Sasha was that lily, she made my life beautiful and the moments I spent with her were the best, I stayed at the Grey’s house more than I stayed in mine.
I was the best striker in the team and Sasha would always come to watch, I would always see the adoration in her eyes anytime I played and watching her look at me only made me put in more effort.
We were friends but we were more than friends, we loved each other
It started when Sasha turned thirteen, even at age thirteen, Sasha had mad curves, she blossomed incredibly fast, guys couldn’t stop drooling over her anytime we went out together, they all had that lusty look in thier eyes anytime they looked at her, but Sasha was oblivious to everything, according to her, I was the only one that mattered to her.
Until one day, I walked into the field, eager to play as usual and I couldn’t find Sasha, everyone started pointing fingers at me and mocking me, they called me a freak, they started discussing about our family, how my father would kick my mother like a rag doll, how I had the tendency to become like him
I had felt hurt, there was only one person that knew my family in and out and it’s Sasha Grey.
How could she do that to me!
I couldn’t believe her, I couldn’t listen to whatever stupid explanation she could possibly give
And so I changed, not just to her but to everyone, I no longer cared about football the way I used to, I burned all the pictures I took with Sasha, even our wedding ones, I convinced myself that I had moved on

She flinched inwardly, her voice was pensive and imploring
” even when I was thirteen, he was always looking at me weirdly but I didn’t like him, there was a day he said something bad about you, he called you a perfectionist, he said you always behave like you were better than everyone else and I…. I.. Couldn’t bear it if someone said anything bad about you, I told him you were going through a lot that your family isn’t the definition of perfect but to me you’re perfect, that was all I told him but he went ahead and did his findings and he found out about your parents, I wasn’t the one that spilled the beans at school, it was him!!! ”
She finished with a sigh, I could barely understand that she was saying, who was he?

I didn’t want to believe it, for three years I had hated Sasha Grey, I had believed that she had schemed but all along it was Viktor!
