( MINUTES BEFORE THE AMBUSH )

Following Rollins after making his exit from Ade’s house, Samson tries to persuade him from his decision but his efforts were all in vain. Rollins who has feared for the consequences of the fallout between Felicia and Ade decided that he wouldn’t wait for the worst to come.

Samson ➡ Rollins, e no reach like that nau? Why you dey do this?

Rollins ➡ Guy, no be say I dey ditch the team but with the wey things dey now, we dey in jeopardy.

Samson ➡ No talk like that. We can work things out.
.

Rollins ➡ Guy, nothing go work out. Me I wan prepare for the worst.

Samson ➡ Wetin you go do?
.

Rollins ➡ I go do some digging and see Wetin I go find about the Executioners. Anything information I get, I go share with you.

Samson ➡ Ogbeni, this solo mission of yours is dangerous.

Rollins ➡ Guy relax. Wey you see say anyone ever catch me?

Samson ➡ Very well, just be careful.

After that statement, Rollins takes his leave and so does Samson but before the latter could get far, he spots Ade’s son Richard on his bedroom window with a worried look on his face. Realizing that the boy knew what had transpired between his parents, Samson shakes his head pitifully and then finally takes his leave.

Meanwhile here inside the quarters of the Executioners, Monica occupies herself as she participates in a fencing ⚔ duel with one of her subordinates whom she had dominated with ease. Just as Monica was about to finish off her subordinate, Her Einstein Victor barges in and interrupts her as he informs her about an update.

Victor ➡ There you are.
.

Monica ➡ Victor, can’t you see I’m in the middle of something?
.

Victor ➡ I know but there’s something you should come and see. It’s very urgent.
.

Monica ➡ What is it?
.

Victor ➡ It’s our Elite prisoner. She’s acting up again. I believe she has seen something.
.

Monica ➡ Oh my. Let’s go see.
.

After prepping herself up, Monica follows Victor to the lab to check on their prisoner and upon their arrival, one of Victor’s assistants tells him about an important update.

Executioner ➡ Sir, The prisoner has made a revelation.

Victor ➡ What did she say?
.

Executioner ➡ Her revelation was a bit vague but..
.

Monica ➡ WHAT DID SHE SAY, FOOL?

Executioner ➡ She said,….father’s house.. My sister is there….
.

Victor ➡ The traitor!! She’s in Julius’s house.

Monica ➡ FINALLY!! THE TIME HAS COME. Tell me doctor, are you anti-Elite weapons ready?

Victor ➡ Yes and they are ready for use.

Monica ➡ Good, deploy the drones first. Then I want a handful of our soldiers armed and ready.

There are a lot of unpleasant things that I’ve seen while living with my mom and neither of those things has bothered or disturbed before. However, seeing my parents on different odds and at each other’s throats is something that I couldn’t handle. At first, I believed that all was going to be okay now that my parents and I are together but it seems that wasn’t meant to be. I should have known to expect the unexpected especially with Mom around.

I know mom is a prone to trouble but honestly, I’ve never felt more sorry for her when she was being lashed and yelled at by dad. I wanted to interfere but Abyzou wouldn’t let me. She insisted that this wasn’t something I was meant to be involved in yet alone be witnessing at my age. I wonder what she means by that.
Minutes long after the biff between my parents, Abyzou possessed Denise and approached me on the roof where I sat and thought about what had happened. She was silent at first but she eventually opened up and conversed with me.

Abyzou ➡ Your parents affairs are not your concern boy. You’re too young to be bothered with such matters.
.

Richard ➡ Do you think it’s true? What dad said about mom? Did she really….
.

Abyzou ➡ That’s none of your concern.
.

Richard ➡ But you knew what happened. I’m pretty sure my dad hates mom now.

Abyzou ➡ For now.
.

Richard ➡ Do you think this will make my parents to go their sperate ways?

Abyzou ➡ Don’t say that. You can never be too sure.

Richard ➡ What if it happens?

Abyzou ➡ I will not let that happen. Try focusing on something else instead of your parent’s quarrel.

Abyzou ➡ Try working on your abilities boy. You’re far more gifted than your parents.

Richard ➡ What’s more cool than being bulletproof?

In that moment, Abyzou’s eyes widened as if she had seen something terrible. She remained still for a while before clearing my curiosity.

Richard ➡ Is something wrong?

Abyzou ➡ That lizard lady and her friend are in danger. She’s in her father’s house right about now.

Richard ➡ You mean Eve and Ali? How did you know?
.

Abyzou ➡ Stop asking questions and act now.

Richard ➡ Act now? I’m a kid. What do you expect me to do?

Abyzou ➡ Figure it out yourself boy. What are you going to do if your parents were about to be killed?

Honestly, I should have known to expect less from a Demon. After all, they’re fiendish beings with no regard for anything but themselves. This news was sure unexpected and if I don’t do anything, those 2 could lose their lives. However, that still doesn’t mean I don’t know what to do.
In that moment, I teleported straight to the Nova agency where I ran into Mr. Kabir. He was surprised when he saw me appear instantly before him.

Kabir ➡ Richard, what are you doing here?
.

Richard ➡ Actually sir. There is something you should know. Eve and that creepy Ali are in danger.
.

Kabir ➡ How do you know this?
.

Richard ➡ I was informed by Abyzou. We have to hurry, they could die.

Kabir ➡ Mercury.
.

Mercury ➡ Yes Agent Kabir?

Kabir ➡ Can you track down Eve and Ali for me?

Mercury ➡ Very well sir…… They’re in the house of the slain Executioner.

Kabir ➡ She’s in her father’s house. Contact all Nova agents immediately.

Richard ➡ We can’t wait for them sir. We’re out of time.

Kids of this generation are nothing but trouble. Ade sure has a lot of work ahead of him. This son of his is definitely a chip of the old block of his mom. So stubborn and daring. As much as I hated for Richard to be involved in this mess, it was too late to turn back now.
Presently here we were just meters away from Eve’s house. What shocked me was the presence of the Executioners that I saw outside the house. They were all armed and organized. Although this is a rescue mission, I had to be be careful not to get caught or killed, or even worse drag Ade’s son into this messy situation.

Kabir ➡ Bala’i (trouble)

Richard ➡ What did you say?
.

Kabir ➡ Keep your voice down.
.

Richard ➡ Okay, so when do we make our move?
.

Kabir ➡ No stay here and don’t do anything unless I say so.
.

Richard ➡ Mr. Kabir, I honestly do not intend to miss out on this. I came to help and that’s what I’m going to do.

Kabir ➡ You’ll do as I say, do you understand? Don’t make me tell your parents especially your mother.

Richard ➡ Go ahead. Mom knows very well that I don’t listen to her. I’m going in.

Kabir ➡ Richard!!! Stop!

If there’s anything more annoying than a kid with horns, then it’s a kid with powers like Ade. Just before I could stop Richard from doing something stupid, the boy became invisible and disappeared away from me completely. Knowing what the Executioners were capable of first hand, I decided to act fast before things got out of hand.

(AFTER THE AMBUSH)

After relaxing and recovering minutes after her rescue, Eve tells everyone about what transpired between in her father’s house. Everyone of the elites listened as Eve told her story and after she was done, they all knew what they were up against.

Kaityln ➡ This is bad.

Ace ➡ I agree. The Executioners are more organized and focused than before.
.

Samson ➡ It seems like they’re watching our every move. How did they know where to find Eve and Ali?
.

Kabir ➡ Before we go ahead with this discussion, I would like to say something. Richard.
.

Richard ➡ Sir.
.

Kabir ➡ I’m very disappointed in you.
.

Naomi ➡ Did he do something wrong?
.

Kabir ➡ He disobeyed me and involved himself into this chaos. What if something had happened to you?

Eve ➡ Don’t be hard on the boy. If it wasn’t for him. Those psychopaths would have taken us away.

Kabir ➡ He’s a kid. He’s not supposed to be doing this.

Eve ➡ That’s really not your choice to make.

In that moment, Chioma and Eze both make their way into the agency. Chioma who was surprised to see Eve and Ali in a roughed up way wondered what had happened.

Chioma ➡ Eve, what happened?
.

Ace ➡ They were attacked by the Executioners.
.

Eze ➡ What? When did this happen?
.

Kabir ➡ Just minutes ago. We need to call Ade and the rest of the team and inform them.

Chioma ➡ I’m afraid that won’t be possible.

Kabir ➡ What do you mean?

Chioma ➡ Samson, Eve… Didn’t you guys tell them what happened at Ade’s house?

Kaityln ➡ What happened?

Just as Chioma was about to narrate everything, her eyes suddenly fell on Richard who stared at her keenly with his boyish innocent eyes. Feeling uncomfortable about what she was about to do, Chioma decides to twist the story but little did she realize that Richard had already known.

Chioma ➡ It’s uh… They..
.

Richard ➡ I already know what happened between my parents Aunty.
.

Chioma ➡ Oh no.. You shouldn’t have seen that.
.

Richard ➡ Well, it’s too late for that now.
.

Kaityln ➡ What is it that happened?
.

Richard ➡ My parents had a fight and they not talking to each other. Dad kicked mom and her group out of the agency so your numbers have now reduced.

Ace ➡ Is this true?
.

Eve ➡ Yes it is.
.

Naomi ➡ So what do we do now?
.

Eze ➡ We’re going to stick together and figure out how to deal with this. We can’t let ourselves be affected by the actions of few.

Kaityln ➡ Well, we need to assemble the others.. Has anyone seen Rollins?

Samson ➡ Yes, he quit. He running solo now.

Eze ➡ What? Why?
.

Kabir ➡ This is bad. We can’t lose any more agents.

Kaityln ➡ Speaking of agents.. Where are the new recruits?

Chioma. ➡ They left on a mission to handle some drug bust.

Eve ➡ That is unnecessary.
.

Chioma ➡ No it is not.

Naomi. ➡ So what’s the next plan of action?

Ali ➡ Its… simple…. Let’s find those b-stards and kill them.

Ace ➡ Your bloodlust is disgusting Ali but I agree. This is a struggle for survival.

Kabir ➡ Before we do any killings, let’s be smart about this. First we need to know the Executioners. It would be pointless fighting them if we don’t know their faces and anyone in connection with them.

Chioma ➡ I agree.
.

Samson ➡ I’ll take care of that. Mercury and I will handle that but we’ll also need help. We can’t do this alone.
.

Eve ➡ That won’t be a problem. I’ve managed to the flash that contains every Elite my father has scouted over the years. We’ll need someone stealthy and silent to handle that.

Chioma ➡ Since Ade won’t be helpful at the moment, we can’t we use Hussein?
.

Eve ➡ The shape shifter?
.

Richard ➡ Excuse me.
.

Chioma ➡ Yes Richard, what is it?
.

Richard ➡ I already know someone that can help us do that.
.

Eze ➡ Who do you have in mind?
.

Richard ➡ Abyzou.
.

Chioma ➡ The demon inside Denise? That’s not a good idea.
.

Richard ➡ I know but she’s the only one that can do this without any interference.
.

Kabir ➡ Can you talk to spirits like your father?
.

Richard ➡ I can but the spirits don’t talk to me. It’s like they’re avoiding me.
.

Ace ➡ So what do we do now?
.

Eve ➡ I say we use the demon. Time is running out. We need to level the playing field if we’re to crush the Executioners.

Eze ➡ What about Prometheus? What if they attack?
.

Chioma ➡ Something tells me that Felicia will handle that. After all, she has a score to settle with them. In the mean time, let’s get to work.

Despite working out a plan to deal with the Executioners, the elites were the only ones with that in mind. The Executioners too who had learnt from their mistake earlier that evening were determined to get back at the Elites especially Monica who was angry and pissed that she had failed to neutralize both Eve and Ali even when they were in within her reach.
Presently here inside the lab, Monica walks silently around and around tightening her knuckles angrily. She was still upset that the Elites had outmaneuvered her despite coming prepared. Unable to contain her rage, Monica yells angrily and stomps her foot hard for some seconds before calming down. Her Einstein, Dr. Victor watched silently as she expressed her emotions and as soon as she was done, he decided to cool her down.

Victor ➡ You shouldn’t be angry. We had the enemy, we just didn’t prepare for any unexpected interference.
.

Monica ➡ Well, we should have. That phantom freak was inside that house all along and we didn’t know it. This b-tch gave us the wrong revelation.
.

Victor ➡ No, her revelations were correct. Just as she predicted. What we need to do now is prepare and once we’re done with our project, they’re finished.
.

Monica ➡ I certainly hope so. Tonight’s failure will just make them more cautious.
.

Victor ➡ It doesn’t matter. The eyes of the future is in our hands. Nothing they do will surprise us. We will be ready for them.
.

Just as Monica and Victor were talking, their so called prisoner who is trapped inside a glass confinement began make another revelation.

Elite prisoner ➡ Drug bust… Elites on the move.. Drug queen Dite…..
.

Monica ➡ What is she saying?
.

Victor ➡ Let me use the cerebral project to see what she’s seeing. Computer, activate Cerebral projector.
.

Computer ➡ Cerebral projector activated.
.

Monica ➡ Oh my… When did you create this?
.

Victor ➡ Not long ago but this is just a prototype. With this device we can see what she’s seeing.

Monica ➡ This is fantastic.. So those are the faces of the Elites?
.

Victor ➡ So far yes but this is not all of them.
.

Monica ➡ It will do. Victor, I want you to send out best executioners to handle this situation. You know what I mean?
.

Victor ➡ Certainly, shall we execute them?
.

Monica ➡ No.. I want these Elites to be captured alive. We need to extract information from them.
