MY BIRTHDAY PARTY – Episode 2

Lily got in and met Oliver and Winifred talking, “hi, she said waving at Oliver.
 
“Hi, sorry for occupying your seat, Oliver said getting on his feet.
 
“Nah it’s fine, I’ll go to the other table, my boyfriend will join me soon, Lily replied.
 
“Am so sorry for the inconvenience, Oliver said.
 
“Oh please it’s fine, see you guys soon okay, Lily said and walked away.
 
 
 
“Why are you this scared? Winifred asked.
 
“I told you already, someone may beat the living hell out of me, he replied and she rolled her eyes.
 
“You’re free to believe whatever you want, she said.
 
“Nah are you mad at me? Am sorry okay I was only joking, he said and she nodded checking her wristwatch, “I need to start going, I gat stuffs to do at home, Winifred said.
 
“Oh please I just told you am sorry, is this my punishment? Oliver said.
 
“No, this has nothing to do with you. Just that I have a report I need to work on, hope you understand, she said and Oliver slowly took her hand.
 
 
 
“I hope I’ll see you again? He asked.
 
“If you want to, she replied.
 
“But I want to, what about that? He asked.
 
“OK Mr, so where and when? She asked and he smiled.
 
“I’ll get your number first for a start, he said stretching out his cell phone and she got it typing down her digits.
 
“Thanks dear, going with your friend? He asked.
 
“Oh I’ll go whisper to her ears now, a second please, Winifred said and left.
 
 
 
 
“Any problem? Lily asked when Winifred was approaching.
 
“Yes.. I mean no just that I’ll be leaving now. You know I’m not done with the report work, she replied.
 
“Come on it’s not up to an hour we arrived here, can you let it settle a bit? Lily asked.
 
“I know, but what’s important is I gave Valentina her gift and she saw me, what’s next? Winifred asked.
 
“You haven’t had one bit of the party, babe don’t do this, for crying out loud this is valentine, Lilly said.
 
“Maybe next time when I’ll have a lover but for now I still have a lot to do on that report then I’ll take my rest for tomorrow, see ya at home okay, Winifred said and pecked her before Lily could say anything.
 
“Avoid me from now on, Lily said with a frown.
 
 
“Sure I will, Winifred said smiling and left.
 
 
 
“Good to go? Oliver asked getting up when Winifred approached.
 
“Yea, she replied.
 
“I’ll drop you off then, he said holding her hand and they walked out together.
 
 
 
Approaching Oliver car, Joseph approached them, “going somewhere? Joseph asked ignoring Oliver who gave his hand for an handshake.
 
“Yea am going home, she replied.
 
“The party is not over…… “I know but I gat something to do, Lily is waiting in,side, bye, Winifred said and Oliver opened up the door for her and she got in.
 
 
 
“That attitude was so uncalled for, at least he should have responded to my greeting first, Oliver said while driving.
 
 
“Am so sorry for that, Winifred calmly said.
 
“Is there anything you’re not telling me? Oliver asked.
 
“I don’t understand, she replied.
 
“Come on Winifred, i saw jealously and anger in his eyes, am not a kid you know, Oliver said and Winifred heaved.
 
“Joseph has been making advances toward me, He has Lily but I don’t know what he wants from me, She replied.
 
“I thought as much, is Lily aware of this? He asked and she shook her head.
 
 
 
“You’re a bad friend you know, Oliver said and she looked at him.
 
“Bad friend trying to protect her friend from getting hurt right? You have no idea how Lily is so obsessed with him, I can’t hurt my friend, Winifred said.
 
“No you’re wrong, if you know your friend deserves guy who should love and respect her, then Joseph is a no for her. You need to start breaking her heart now, she’ll understand you meant good for her, Oliver said and she shook her head.
 
 
 
“No I won’t do that, I have gone through a heart break I thought I won’t survive it. Am not ready to see my girlfriend go crazy same way I did, am going to handle this my own way, she said.
 
“And how are you going to do that? Come on Winifred don’t tell me you will let Lily go far with that dude and get dumped at the end. She will eventually get hurt still, why not do the needful now? Look Winifred, I know we’ve just met but you need to need to listen to me, this is the right thing you should do if you really love your friend, Oliver said and Winifred was so dumfounded.
 
“This is so difficult, can I please think about this carefully? She asked.
 
“Don’t let it be too late, He replied and she sadly nodded.
 
 
 
Soon she was home and the car came to a halt, “thank you so much, She said to him.
 
“You’re welcome, and thanks for making my day, he said and she smiled going out waving at him as he drove off.
 
 
 
She got In and threw herself freely on the bed, checked her wristwatch to see it was 7:05 pm already.
 
“Gosh I have a lot to cover up and my stomach hurts, she said as her stomach was giving a little rumbling sound.
 
She went to the refrigerator and took a piece of pizza, “this will do for now, she said eating and went to her drawer taking a file from it…….
 
 
 
Done with the report she jumped up happily and noticed Lily wasn’t back yet looking at the time, she took her phone to call her but then she didn’t want to disturb her with Joseph.
 
“Talking about Joseph, is Oliver right about what he said? Won’t she see me like a hater trying to separate her from her happiness? Oh no, I honestly can’t do this, I won’t bear it if I was the reason she got hurt. It has to be this way, Winifred said and her phone beeped.
 
 
 
“Today was so fulfilled for me when I saw you, make sure you don’t catch a cold this night okay. Love you and good night from Oliver, she read smiling to her self as she clicked on the reply button.

“Sure I won’t catch a cold, indeed today was good meeting you too. Good night, she texted back licking her l-ips and fell on the bed…….
