I don’t think this child will survive till we get to the hospital.

“no Myer, I’ll call the maid to pour you another juice. This is mine ” he said and took it from her.

I slowly heaved a sigh of relief and smiled inwardly.

He took a sip from his juice and continued eating.

I faced my food and ate happily as Rinaldo drank his juice.

He started coughing profusely and everyone had to stop eating.

“what’s it son ” Mr George asked.

He continued coughing and soon, he coughed out blood.

Beatrice, Melanie and I gasped at once.

“we need to take him to the hospital right away ” Mr George said in panic.

Rinaldo was slowly loosing consciousness as blood dripped out of his mouth.

I could just let him die by instructing the doctor not to give him the antidote.

But no, I can’t kill a human.

That will make me just like them and I’m way different from them.

Fernando and Beatrice helped Rinaldo to the car and they drove off with Mr George in no minute.

They’re in panic mode, exactly what I wanted.

I got in my car and followed them.

I arrived at the hospital to see nurses already pushing Rinaldo to a ward.

I sat in the waiting room with the Buenevistas and smiled inwardly as they paced back and forth.

Fernando couldn’t seem to take his eyes off me and I knew he was suspecting me.

After what seemed like years, the doc came out.

“he contacted a very deadly disease and I don’t know for sure if he’ll survive “the doc said.

Wow! He’s also an actor.

“please Steve, you have to do everything in your power to save Rinaldo, he’s the…. ” Mr George was saying but held his chest and almost broke down but Fernando caught him.

Wow! He really loves Rinaldo, I’ve never seen him like this.

“dad please calm down” Beatrice said and Fernando made him sit.

“I’ll try my best but the money needed to cure him is very huge and you can even go bankrupt ” the doc said.

I watched the confusion on Beatrice and Mr George’s face.

They love their son but also love money.

“save him ” Mr George blurted out.

Doc Steve nodded and walked away.

We all sat in the waiting room with Fernando beside me.

It felt awkward and uncomfortable but I had to maintain the game.

Mr George’s phone rang and he gave Beatrice a look only the both of them understood.

They got up and headed out.

“you better pray that you have no hand in this ” Fernando seethed and I scoffed.

“if I find out that you…. ” he was saying but trailed off when I got up and walked out.

Bastard!

I saw Mr George and her daughter entering a ward and I followed.

The closed the thick door and I stopped at the door.

I put my ear so I could hear their convo.

“it’s Mr Juan “Mr George said.

“I was thinking that now that Rinaldo is in a condition like this, why don’t we just kill Mr Juan and take the full shares ” Mr George suggested.

I quickly brought out my phone and set it on record.

So they still wanna kill for money.

“if he’s alive, we’ll have to share the contract funds with him but if he’s gone, we’ll take it all” Mr George said.

“yes that’s true but how do we kill him ” Beatrice asked.

“I mean Philip our skilled killer has been missing for years now so who else can carry out this job without mistake ” Beatrice asked.

“we’ll just send two of our bodyguards to carry it out “Mr George said.

“what are you doing ” I heard behind me and turned to see Fernando.

He has caught me eavesdropping.

I saved the record, put my phone in my bag and smiled at him.

“why? Are you stalking me ” I asked and he smirked.

Just then the door opened and Beatrice and Mr George came out.

They were shocked to see the both of us here.

“what are you guys doing here ” Beatrice asked and looked to her dad.

“why are you two acting like you were caught in the middle of something bad ” Fernando fired back and they went silent.

We stood, staring at one another.

I need to find all the necessary info on Mr Juan, I have to save him.

“excuse me ” I said and walked out.

I went to the waiting room and soon they all came too.

“I’ll take my leave now, I just hope Rinaldo gets well ” I said.

“thanks Lanna, bye ” Beatrice said and I gave Fernando a look before walking out.

I boarded my car and put a call through to Brian.

“Brian I need you to search on Mr Juan, I don’t know his last name but he’s in a business with the Buenevistas ” I said.

“OK, I’m on it ” he replied and I hung up.

My phone rang and it was the same number Faye used in calling me.

“hey Faye “I said into the phone.

“gosh! I miss you so much ” she said and guilt rushed up my mind.

“hope you’re on the plan ” I asked, trying to change the topic of sisters.

“yes, Mr George I meant grandpa already accepted me and mom too but Fernando hasn’t. Rinaldo hærdly even notices me and Sasha never stays at home “she said the Sasha’s part with a low voice and I knew something was off.

“what’s it Faye ” I asked softly.

“Sasha and Leo are dating ” she said lowly.

I knew she liked Leo, if only she knew Leo can’t love again.

“don’t be sad Faye, Leo is only playing the same game with Sasha ” I said.

“really ” she asked with enthusiasm and I nodded.

“yes” I quickly said when I remembered she can’t see me.

“Gosh! I’m so happy and it means I stand a chance of getting him ” she said.

After chatting for a while, I hung up.

I arrived home and alighted.

It was already night and Brian was till getting info on Mr Juan.

“done” Brian said.

“he’s kinda rich, has a wife and a daughter and lives in Melbourne’s street ” Brian said.

“the Buenevistas are planning to kill him and before that happens, I want us to save him ” I said.

“Leo and I can handle that ” he said.

“speaking of Leo, where’s he ” I asked.

“right here ” Leo replied, descending the stairs.

“you and Brian… ”

“I heard” he cut me off.

I slowly nodded and went up to my room.

I watched from the balcony as Leo and Brian, dressed in black and black, boarded a car.

I went to my room and took my laptop.

“can I come in ” I heard Johanna’s voice and I nodded.

She was with her laptop too.

I switched on the tracker on my laptop and she did hers too.

It’s better to turn it on to know when something’s wrong.

With the tracker, we’d know if the guys are going out of plan or going to another route.

Melbourne street is where they are heading and if they are heading somewhere else, we’d know something’s wrong.

We arrived at Mr Juan’s house and before we could go in, we heard some noise.

We tiptoed to the window and saw two guys already in the house.

We came late.

Leo and I stood outside and thought of how we’d outtake them.

We hid at a corner and decided to let them come out and when they do, we’ll tiptoe behind them and knock them out.

The door opened and Mr Juan, his wife and daughter came out with the two thugs behind them with gun.

As they were close to the car, Leo and I tiptoed behind them and almost knocked them down but we froze when we heard “no no no ” .

The two thugs turned and saw us but we wore a face clothe that covered our face.

We turned to see another guy behind us with a gun.

Thought they were just two, now we’re in a mess we don’t know if we’d come out.

How will we save ourselves and also Mr Juan and his family?

We’re stuck right in the middle.
